I had the meat lovers omlett and added veggies. The food was very good. We were looking for a decent breakfast spot in the area, and this was it. The service was friendly and the establishment was clean. I would come back. 4 Stars

My sisters and I eat breakfast or lunch at Mary's once a week. All the servers are sweet and patient and fun to chat with. We love the home cooked food made from fresh ingredients. The prices are very reasonable and they offer delicious lunch specials. We sometimes order breakfast and then take a special home for dinner. One of us usually grabs a cinnamon bun to go, so be sure to check out the dessert case when you arrive as they sell quickly!

Great local restaurant that serves the basic and some more fancy stuff. I had the jelly bean pancakes that were awesome! Full breakfast that includes great side and drink!

My husband has been trying to get me to eat at Mary's for brunch for a couple of months now and when I ran the recent 10-miler last weekend we decided to come in here so I could carb out. My in-laws came with us and we waited for about 15-20 at 11am on a Sunday minutes but it moved very quickly. We were seated by the friendly GM who took our drink orders to help with a newer waitress who was clearly overwhelmed and took about 15 minutes to get to us to take our order. I ordered the biscuits and gravy and a kid's happy face fruit pancake, my father-in-law ordered the adult pancakes, my husband the drilled cheese with fries, and my mother-in-law the breakfast bagel sandwich with eggs, cheese and turkey bacon and a side of fruit. Coffee was decent but refills were a bit hard to get - when the food arrived everyone's came but my husband's and my pancake was wrong and had no fruit so I had to send it back. Our waitress said somehow his was deleted and she'd have one made quickly. After about 15 minutes of waiting (and eating while he waited) my father-in-law approached the GM who eventually came to tell us that our waitress was new, not doing too well, and had not only not put in the order, but had not told anyone AFTER his food didn't come so it wasn't even being made. He apologized profusely, said the food was comped for my husband and he was rushing it out. After about 30 minutes from the time our food arrived, his grilled cheese came out. It was delicious - buttery and cheesy and perfectly cooked. He liked it. My biscuits and gravy was absolutely wonderful - thick and fresh and soft buttery biscuits with yummy gravy. My father-in-law and I agreed the pancakes were only ok. My mother-in-law's bagel sandwich looked good. They have a large menu and tons of lunch specials daily to choose from as well as lots of pies and desserts in a display up front. There is a nice bar area you can also sit at and it's a local, relaxed feel inside with surfboard decor. The food was good - our waitress was trying very hard and was very sweet - and the GM was excellent. We will come back and give them another try - they handled it well.

Cute, clean, busy, not super loud, pleasant. Our server was Joy, and while she was every so lovely & attentive, she was slammed and didn't have a ton of extra time. That's just the way things are now. I got the avocado toast, and it was pretty basic- nothing too fancy. I did add one scrambled egg with cheese on top. I would come again! Very good!

I am a creamed chipped-beef fan. After dozens of restaurants, I have concluded "without any hesitation" that "Mary's Kitchen" chipped-beef is the worst! The chipped-beef is way too salty, has hardly any beef, the quantity is small, and the gravy is way too thick and tasteless. In addition, the breakfast potatoes are a common frozen commercial brand and are dry & flavorless. In the positive side, "Mary's Kitchen" has a super-riffic serving staff - they always give me "More Smiles Than I Came In With!" and make me wanna return. After 3 tries at "Mary's" chipped beef, I will not order them ever again - Stouffer's store brand chipped-beef would be a better choice for "Mary's" to serve. How about some fresh potatoes too? the atmosphere is spacious with a BIG business feel, rather than a desired "ma & pa" local's feel. "Run-A-Way Bill" was here! - AGAIN Wednesday 12.06.23 p.s. Thanks for the smiles "Shannon" (this time) & "Tyler" on my previous visit.

The building was super cold but during the summer that's a good thing. There's a beachy atmosphere. Our server was very friendly but they seemed a bit short staffed. She was training a new server. The food was delicious except the hash browns were a little chewy. Overall a cute place to have breakfast or lunch.

Visiting Virginia Beach & looked on Yelp for a breakfast place. Came across Mary's Kitchen. It was a 3 minute drive from hotel. Ample free parking in a nice strip mall with maybe 5 stores. We were seated right away. Given water then waitress came to order. Food came out quickly. Service was great. Price point okay. Restaurant was very airy & clean. They serve drink like bloody Mary's. Will definitely go again for breakfast

Food and service was excellent. It is a local place! This was a day that they donated all proceeds to Local Fire departments.

So many quality ingredients for the price. I also got their sweet biscuit and you can taste that everything is homemade. We also got their biscuit smothered in gravy. The biscuit was also homemade. Everything was amazing here and I can't recommend this place enough. Also, the bar looks amazing with lots of drink specials. They do add an 18% gratuity in all checks. Brilliant idea. The hostess took our name and phone number and we received a txt when our table was ready. The hostess was very friendly and attentive. The ambiance was amazing. Since it is mainly a seafood restaurant the aesthetic was ocean or bay themed. They had great decorations of coral reef and other things found in the ocean around the restaurant. They had a great seating area for patrons who were waiting for a table. The service was impeccable. Our waitress was very attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. Since it was our first time at this restaurant we were unsure about what we should order. She gave great suggestions. We ordered the fried oysters, oyster burger, and shrimp with vegetables and eggs. We also ordered a pineapple crush and the localizer. The food was very flavorful and fresh. The oyster burger was very unique it had a fried oyster on top of the patty which was great. It was cooked to perfection and very juicy. The fried oysters were great as well. They came with Pita bread and spinach dip to make an oyster sandwich. Amazing!!! The drinks were on point as well. They weren't too strong but they weren't weak either. I recommend trying out this restaurant if you are in the area. It is totally worth the wait.

I already knew this was my destination as I had been following them since they opened in VB. Upon our arrival we found the Cafe about a 1/4th of the way full so I had hopes for breakfast in a quiet setting. Even though there was a steady flow of traffic, we were able to dine in a relaxed setting without feeling rushed. I mention this because with it being a holiday weekend full of Jeepers, I fully expected them to be packed. The wait to order was too long as it left me staring at the pastry window so long I almost ordered one of everything however; I refrained from doing so but still bought 4 pastries, French toast & seasoned potatoes. Yes yes, alot of food for 1 person but I still had 2 days left in my visit and well, I have a thing for pastries. The pastries were: mango & passion fruit eclair, a pineapple muffin, lemon raspberry cake & profiteroles. I loved everything with the exception of the eclair. It wasn't anything against the eclair, it's just the mango/passionfruit mixture was just too passionate for my tastes. The muffin reminded me of my own homemade upside pineapple cake without all the brown sugar. It was light and buttery. The Lemon raspberry slice was delightful & not the least bit tart or too sweet. A mixture of both flavors without either one overpowering the other. The cake was super moist, perfect. The profiteroles were my favorite. They reminded me of that feeling I had the 1st time I tasted them while living in Italy. The choux perfectly baked and so delightfully light. The French toast was good enough without the side of syrup. The star for me of the breakfast items were the potatoes. I LOVED them. They were served HOT, seasoned just right with their insides softer that a baby bottom. I coulda just ordered 2 servings of those & bypassed the toast. All in all, well worth the wait. The folks were friendly, the Cafe clean and the seating plentiful and comfortable. I would recommend this place for both pastries & French toast & spuds.
