My family and I came here on a Saturday morning and enjoyed ourselves so much that we found ourselves right back here the following Monday! Both times, we were greeted warmly and seated quickly by a friendly server, making us feel welcome from the moment we walked in. This time around, we ordered turkey sandwiches, a bacon cheddar chicken melt, and country fried steak and eggs. I had the turkey sandwich, and I thought it was quite tasty. It was served on sourdough bread with all the classic fixings: lettuce, tomato, cheese, mayo, and several slices of oven-roasted turkey. I do wish the bread had been toasted a bit more and that there had been a little extra lettuce, but aside from that, I really enjoyed it! When we visited a couple of days earlier, my brother ordered the collard greens, and they were the bomb.com! I knew I had to get an order for myself this time, and they did not disappoint. They were cooked and seasoned just the way I like them. The mac and cheese was good, too, but it couldn't compete with those greens! My daughter ordered the bacon cheddar chicken melt and said she found something new that she loves. On our previous visit, she had the breakfast quesadilla and thought that was great as well. My brother ordered the country fried steak and eggs. He said the steak was a little tough, but he still cleaned his plate...and he doesn't eat anything he doesn't like! Of course, he had to order the collard greens again, and he crushed those, too. On our first visit, I ordered the French toast with turkey sausage and home fries. The French toast was so good, and the home fries were seasoned and cooked to perfection. The only thing I wasn't a fan of was the turkey sausage, which I thought lacked flavor. Still, everything else was delicious. We actually ended up here on a whim. The breakfast spot we originally planned to visit was packed, and we didn't want to wait for a table. As we were driving to another nearby restaurant, I spotted this place and suggested we give it a try. I'm so glad we did! The atmosphere was another highlight. It wasn't crowded, and easygoing hits from the '80s and '90s played softly in the background. There were also 2 TVs there for those who wanted to watch. It created a welcoming, comfortable environment where my family and I could relax and truly enjoy our meal. We're already looking forward to coming back again soon! My favorite meal is breakfast, so I was excited to try this new place! The decore was nice and modern. I went during the week in the morning, so no waiting. The service was spot on The first thing looking at the menu is that the price start a little higher than other places that I've been. And that hashbrowns we're always part of price on most dishes not as a side order. I ordered the D'Local Yokal with eggs, bacon and my side dish was pancakes. I didn't get my toast till later which surprised me since there was no one really there. Anyway....the food was good, but honestly I think it's a little pricey, but I get it you have to cut corners and taking out the hashbrowns as part of the dish didn't sit good with me. The D'egg Diner Pembroke recently opened in Virginia Beach near the Town Center area. They are in the spot where Anchor Allie's used to be. My visit here was on February 7, 2026. I had been to their location on Main St. a while ago when I was in Norfolk for work, so I wanted to try out their newest location that is now much closer to me. If you are coming along Independence Blvd. northbound, you'll need to make a U-turn at the traffic light at Jeanne St. It wasn't hard to see the place coming along Independence Blvd. It stands out more than the other businesses here with the yellow and blue coloring, and makes it look vibrant. At the entrance, the info is on the door for their hours of operation. After opening the first door, you'll go to the door on the right side. The door on the left side is the exit door. We were immediately greeted by a hostess at the stand when you come in. I took a few photos before being seated. After being seated, it didn't take long for our server Dakota to come to the table to welcome us and asked us what we wanted to drink. I did do water but also asked about a Bloody Mary. They are still waiting for their liquor license to come through before they can do that. I tried to do a virgin one, but they didn't have the ingredients yet for it. That is totally understandable since the liquor license isn't valid yet. My mom ended up getting a soda. They offer Coke products here. Even though the menu was only a front and back side, it took a little while for us to choose what we wanted. The front page of the menu shows the breakfast options, and the back page shows the lunch options. They are both available all day. Once we were ready to order, we flagged down Dakota and she came right over. After the menu review, my mom decided to get the D' Monte Cristo Breakfast Sandwich with scrambled eggs. I decided to go rogue in terms of carbs and went for the D' Feast Breakfast Special with applesauce as the side. After about ten minutes or so, the food came out to the table. Both food items looked really good, and it was hot too. The French Toast was soft and fluffy. The butter on it was great too. To keep carbs at a minimum, I didn't do any syrup, but that's something I am not craving for anyways to go with it. The eggs and bacon were good, along with the applesauce. I was surprised a bit later that this meal didn't actually spike my blood sugar either. Overall, this was a very good first visit to this new location. The menu may look small, but there is quite a bit to choose from. I plan to come back and also try some of the lunch type items too. The service and food were on point and no issues. One thing to note is that if you use a card to pay, there is a 3% surcharge. If you are in the Town Center area and want to try out a locally owned business for breakfast, this place is worth checking out. read more

This was my 1st time visiting his location I have been to the one located in Norfolk, VA, it was about 11:30am last Tuesday, it was just my sister and I and the workers, there was interviews going on. Decent, but not great. We had eaten at other D'egg locations and they are better from what I recall. We were met by a hostess at the front who looked like she didn't want to be there--I'm not sure she even smiled at us or said anything. Just picked up menus and walked to a table--kind of awkward. We were sat as a party of 5 (2 adults & 3 kids)--which is significant because we were charged a 20% "large party" fee. First time that's ever happened for my family of 5.....but it ended up being their tip regardless. Our waitress was nice and she came back several times to check on us. My biggest problem was that my picky eating 6 year old ordered chicken tenders, and it took the kitchen about 15 minutes to relay the message back to the table to tell us they were sold out of chicken tenders. So that delayed our food getting delivered to the table even more. He had to opt for a grilled cheese sandwich instead. Food was ok, though nothing amazing. My wife did enjoy her chicken salad sandwich though. I agree with other reviewers saying it's crazy overpriced for what it is. My family of 5 spent $85 for breakfast/lunch plates two of them got kids menu items AND we all drank water only--that's kind of insane to think about....probably won't be back to this location. Waited 15 mins to even get a server to get our drinks because they didn't even notice that we didn't have anyone serving us. 45 min wait for simple food as listed in the picture. Disappointed. Would not recommend going back to this location. I ordered sausage gravy with biscuits. The gravy was powdery, lacked flavor and the biscuits were hard. We also ordered a breakfast burrito. The steak in the burrito lacked flavor. There was more potatoes in the burrito than anything else, which should have been home fries, but tasted more like overly fried hash browns, tiny potatoes chips if you will. We had high hopes for this new addition to our area of Virginia Beach. We went for breakfast on Valentine's Day Saturday, arriving about 8:40 There were lots of empty booths and seats.. We were greeted and seated right away. Our sever appeared quickly and took our drink orders - one coffee and one water. She brought my water and a very small coffee cup for my husband. He asked if she was leaving the pot on the table because he would drink the coffee in no time. She said she'd check back for refills. She took our orders: classic eggs benedict with a side of grits and an all carte order of 1 egg scrambled, home fries, and a biscuit. She came back to refill my husband's coffee cup.Our food came out in a reasonable amount of time - brought by a pleasant young man who was not our server. My scrambled eggs were "dirty" - had bits of hash browns and other "stuff" in them and were very dry. The home fries were cubes of deep fried potatoes - NOT "home fries". The biscuit was a good size and was very good. It had butter melting on top but no additional butter on the plate for inside the biscuit. My husband's eggs benedict was "ok" - eggs were cooked "medium" as requested. Since this is on the menu as "Classic Eggs Benedict", he was expecting Canadian bacon as the meat. The meat was a thin slice of what looked liked packaged grocery store ham. The Hollandaise sauce was very bland and didn't have the rich taste of Hollandaise. The side of grits was in a small bowl with a large scoop of butter. At NO time did our server return to our table after our food was delivered to ask the standard" How is everything? Can I get you anything else?" My husband left his empty coffee cup near the edge of the table and our server finally came back and took my husbands plate and then said I should have brought you a larger coffee cup and put one down and filled it. She returned a short time later and took my mostly uneaten plate of food since I had put my utensils on it and moved it to the side. She did not ask if everything was ok or mention that the food was mostly uneaten. She then brought the bill and said "no rush". We put out a credit card, and she took and returned the bill and card and said "ok here you go". No "thanks for coming in, have a nice day", or anything. When we were driving home, I looked at our receipt and realized she had charged me for a "Local Yokal" breakfast meal ($12) instead of ringing it up as ordered, which was ala carte. I do not eat meat and only wanted one egg so my meal should have been $9. Our fault for not checking the bill carefully before paying. I will add that we always say "please" and "thank you" when ordering, requesting or receiving anything so we aren't "those customers".
