Love First Watch! I've never been disappointed with the food or the service. The only downside, which is not at all the restaurants fault, is the lack of parking. It's definitely a very popular place so it's understandable that they have more full parking lot, but I think part of the problem is that that office building right there also uses the lot and it makes it nearly impossible. My husband and I tried to go a couple of weeks ago and we ended up just having to leave because there was not one single parking spot available and we were not the only people circling the lot looking for a spot. Again, this is definitely nothing that the restaurant has any control over but if you are going to go here for the first time, just keep in mind that parking may be a problem read more

Attempted to give First watch another try this morning - a Friday morning at 7:30. Had 2 servers walk by and look at us but never stop. 15 mins in, still no service. We left. I really like the food at First Watch but it'll be a hard pass to return to this location. We went to Egg Bistro, where early bird specials are $3 cheaper and the service was prompt and friendly. Great atmosphere and wonderful staff, but the food was truly disappointing. We used to come here often, so I'm not sure what happened with the kitchen, but the quality has gone downhill. My poached eggs arrived  hard-boiled, and the potatoes were noticeably undercooked. After sending the meal back, the replacement took about 10 minutes and was somehow worse. The poached eggs had an overwhelming vinegar smell -far more than should be present--and they were even more overcooked than the first order. It was after a morning doctor appointment in Chesapeake. We were hungry, not having had much time for food before leaving. I had seen so many people on Yelp who had eaten at First Watch. There was one relatively close. It was time to explore in person. The first negative I saw at the Summit Point location was people waiting in the outer lobby. Not a good sign. I wasn't familiar with the area. So I had no idea that it was next to the Family Dollar Corporate Headquarters or that Summit Pointe was a mixed use development with shops, offices and housing. That's a lot of people all looking for a lunch spot. There was a wait but we were hungry and decided to stay. A nice man, who was also waiting with us in the outer lobby, told us about a feature on their App where you could see the wait & join the list remotely. I downloaded and set up the App while we waited. When our table was ready service was quick. A coffee cup, pot and water was immediately brought to our table. I did want coffee. But it's very old school to assume everyone does. It also told me there were no specialty coffees. I smiled when I saw the FLORIDIAN FRENCH TOAST on the menu. It was billed as made with Thick-cut artisan baked challah bread with fresh banana, kiwi, seasonal berries and powdered cinnamon. There was no doubt as to what I would order. Thick cut challah bread French Toast is one of my favorite Brooklyn breakfast choices. The server asked if I wanted bacon. My response was that I really did but it didn't work with my calorie count. He pointed out that apple chicken sausage was a choice. So I ordered that on the side. When the food arrived I was extremely disappointed. The challah bread wasn't thick. It was the thickness of normal bread. It lacked the softness of a well prepared challah bread French Toast. Having ordered sugar free syrup, I asked if that was what the small container on my plate contained. She acted surprised & returned with a container of sugar free syrup in the manufacturer packing, just as if had been purchased from the grocery shelf. Now let's talk about the Apple Chicken Sausage. The two pieces came sliced very thin and were brown. I tried cutting into one. It was very tough. I didn't eat very much. The cost certainly wasn't indicative of the price I was charged. My friend ordered pancakes & bacon. Each piece of bacon was cooked differently. One was almost completely raw. Ugggg The decor was that of a chain restaurant, which I didn't know before arriving that it was. First time at this particular location... love the energy and vibe from the moment I walked in. I was greeted instantly and seat right after. Jennifer was our waitress and her service was absolutely spectacular. I was celebrating with my sister and ordered the closest thing to steak and eggs... which just happed to be the Steak & Hash.! I asked for the potatoes to be super crispy, eggs scrambled soft and a medium rare steak. Jennifer advised that I cannot order the steak to the temp of my choosing because, this dish does not come with a whole steak. This dish comes with cut up steak pieces. She requested for them to be cooked light. This dish also doesn't come with eggs. I ordered it on the side. Overall this dish was very pleasing to the eye but my darn potatoes were COLD... I was breaking all the rules and ordered carbs after my intense workout just to be heavily disappointed with cold taters lol... the fish looks amazing but this goes to show you that looks can be deceiving. The eggs were cooked to perfection.. not just anyone can scramble eggs soft. So the kitchen does get a point or two for that. The steak pieces are very small and thin my sliced.. not much flavor but at least they weren't chewy. Overall I did not eat my dish. I just packed up the entire plate and enjoyed two glasses of champagne with grapefruit juice. My guest ordered a dish called the chicken chimichangas or chickichangas. I believe and she devoured it!!! I didn't get a picked but it looked like a chicken omelet with hollandaise on top and some fresh fruit! Overall I am eating this place a 3 only because my service was excellent, the restaurant was clean and had ample parking.. the bathroom was clean and I just happened to be in great company. I hit up First Watch in Chesapeake before heading out to do some errands and it hit the spot. The staff is always friendly, give great recommendations if you are having a difficult time deciding and parking is a breeze with ample spots in their lot, or the garage caddy corner to them. Décor is like hipster modern meets the farmhouse which goes with their farm-to-table theme. On this visit I got my favorite the Chickichanga. An omelet like dish filled with chicken, chorizo, avocado, chilies, and cheese. Served with a side of home fries this will stick with you for a day of shopping or work. read more

This was my first time at First Watch. My husband and I came here with two of our friends. We each enjoyed our meals and our server was friendly, attentive, and helpful. Collectively, we ordered the Market Hash dish with a side of maple bacon, pancake with a side of eggs, the Chickichanga, the Quinoa Breakfast Power Bowl, and Morning Meditation drinks. The only con of this experience is when I went to the bathroom and walked out of the bathroom. The women's bathroom had large puddles of water on the floor from one stall and it looked like there was smeared geese poop on the floor of the other stall. Then, when I walked out of the bathroom I immediately slipped and fell. There was an employee there who saw me fall and asked me if I was okay but didn't offer any assistance with helping me off the floor. As I was getting up my husband realized I had fallen and ran over to help me up and make sure I was okay. At first I thought I had slipped because of all the water on my shoes from the bathroom floor, but then my husband said the staff had just mopped the floor outside the bathroom before I fell, and there was another customer who fell by the entrance after they mopped just a few minutes before I fell. This happened as they were preparing to close, and I get that they were trying to clean up before leaving but wet floor signs being posted and prompt cleaning of puddles would have been helpful. Update: Customer care reached out to me immediately after seeing my review and arranged a call with me to apologize for the experience I had, ask if I was okay, and offered to send gift cards if I was interested in giving First Watch restaurants another try. I would try other First Watch locations, and I really appreciate the caring outreach made by the customer care team. I was sent gift cards, a First Watch cookbook, an oven mitt and a handwritten card by customer care, which was very thoughtful and speaks to the level of care and seriousness the company places on customers having a good experience with the company. I came here with my family and honestly this place was amazing. Even though they were super busy the restaurant was clean we were seated quickly and the customer service was excellent. Our go to brunch spot. It is always busy on a weekend for brunch/breakfast for good reason. We sat at the bar to avoid waiting for a table to open up. The bartender was super friendly. Food; my favorite is the Pesto Chicken Quiona Bowl. If you like pesto it's a great brunch option. My wife gets the Works Omelette with the million dollar potatoes upgrade which is delicious. We have never been dissatisfied with any food item here. Drinks; I got Honey Caramel Iced Coffee it was sweet and delicious. My wife got the pomegranate sunrise which was a perfect brunch drink. Our server Ashley was great! She was quick and efficient with a warm smile. Our food was ordered and arrived timely. I had the double bacon Parmesan hash...it was delish!! It's the perfect mix of bacon, eggs, home fries, and veggies (onions, spinach, and arugula). I really hope they add it to the regular menu. First time eating here and placed a pickup order. I didn't get my food until 20 minutes after the pickup time stated in the email. During these 20 minutes a waitress kept going back and forth from the kitchen to the front without giving me any time frame for my order. This was not a pleasant first experience and makes me not want to return in the future. I would be more understanding if the restaurant was packed but it wasn't and I even overheard other patrons acknowledge the fact that the restaurant wasn't packed like usual. So we've been coming here for quite a while. Love the team, every server is awesome! I have been waiting to catch them being less than stellar. Today was the day. My pumpkin donut holes were forgotten! However, our breakfasts were so delicious that we didn't realize right away. It wasn't a big deal to us, but I mentioned it to have it taken off the bill. My server was mortified about the mistake, so much so that she mentioned it to her manager, who then came over to apologize as well and she went above and beyond by giving us an apology gift card. The setting is absolutely beautiful, but I have to say--the parking situation is a mess and could definitely be improved. When I arrived, I was seated right away with no wait time. The hostess was warm, friendly, and took me straight to a lovely seat by the window, where I had a gorgeous view of the street. The vibe was peaceful and welcoming. My server was knowledgeable about both the food and drink menu. She gave me time to look things over and returned at just the right moment. I tried their seasonal watermelon drink, which wasn't quite my cup of tea, but I appreciated the creativity. The coffee, on the other hand, was smooth and just right once I added a little French vanilla creamer. I ordered The Trifecta--eggs cooked to your liking, turkey sausage (which came with four pieces!), and two slices of French toast (I added an extra slice for a small upcharge). The French toast came with a blueberry sauce that elevated the dish beautifully. I used just a touch, and it was absolute perfection. This meal was orgasmic--yes, I said it! The flavors, especially in the French toast, danced in my mouth like the Macarena in perfect rhythm. The first time I visited First Watch, I wasn't completely sold. But I'm so glad I gave it another shot--now it's one of my favorite spots. For those who eat vegan or health-conscious meals, this is a great place to check out. What impressed me most, though, as someone with experience in the restaurant industry and chef school, was the cleanliness. On the way to the bathroom, I got a peek into the kitchen and was blown away by how well-organized, clean, and professionally it was run. The bathroom was just as spotless. Visiting a friend in Chesapeake and we decided to grab breakfast at First Watch before hitting the road back home. Our server brought the energy the entire time and was extremely attentive throughout our visit. They featured lemon blueberry cornbread on their summer menu (& on table toppers and their chalkboard) but when we ordered it we were told they weren't able to prepare it due to a shortage of ingredients from their suppliers :( BUMMER! However they did have the Shishito Pepper Hash which I ordered and absolutely loved! The potato hash itself was a flavor explosion and the pickled red onion, charred shishito peppers and brisket amplified things making the dish a true winner! The side of chicken sausage looked great however was just ok (I only ate 1/2 a patty). Overall it was a good breakfast and we arrived a little after 9am and did not have a wait, although when we were leaving there was a bit of a wait....but the restaurant provides free coffee while you're waiting which is a nice touch. I always enjoy this restaurant, I wish they had "chicken fried steak" on the menu. I ordered a delicious omelette and a lavender tea it was so delicious and kind of tasted like lemonade! I'm glad I tried something new. The bread is my favorite it's so thick and fluffy ! The consistency of the grits is super thick, which is different for me but I like it because it's filling. Everything in the omelette complimented each other down to the onions, mushrooms and sausage! Oh and I got a side of biscuits and gravy, they were so fluffy and fresh the gravy was thick and creamy and the serving is large! It was hot out, the wonderful waitress was nice enough to bring my dog water! We sat outside; the outdoor area was clean and the tables were "thoughtfully" spread apart, the ceiling fans helped with the heat! We did add to waitlist on the website and when we got there, we were seated literally immediately. We were greeted with big smiles, politeness and clear communication. They were pretty busy, so it took a little bit for our waitress to greet us, but that gave us time to chat and browse the menu. The atmosphere is kinda loud, lots of chit chat, kids and different convos. But we don't mind the sound of people and happiness. My son and his best friend ordered the French toast. I don't think it even survived 5 mins on the table haha. I ordered the biscuits and gravy side; but it was plenty enough! It had a bit of a kick to it, but I'm not a spicy food person at all. This place gets very busy after 0900, so be wary when you show up past that time. We got there before hand and were sat immediately. I initially ordered the seasonal crunchy breakfast tacos but were told the were no longer in season. This is why I docked a star for service. If you're going to have specials or seasonal's wetting on a board then have them. If not, scratch them off. I changed my order to farm house tacos (essentially the same thing with chorizo instead of bacon). They had good flavor. I the potatoes on the side were good as well. My wife got the lemon ricotta pancakes and they had great flavors as well. I'm just an old-fashioned pancake person so the multi-grain missed the mark for me. Boy was I wrong, this place was awesome. The restaurant was packed but we were still able to get a seat very quickly. We sat out on the patio. We ordered the: Farm stand breakfast tacos which was 3 wheat corn tortillas filed with scrambled eggs, chicken, chorizo and cheese and the Farmhouse Skillet Has which was two eggs atop seasoned potatoes, bacon, avocado, onions, tomato and cheese. The first time I stepped into a First Watch (FW), it was down in Florida. I could not believe it was a chain restaurant. The food was not chain-y, very tasty and so fresh! I remember wishing they had more locations elsewhere outside of the state. Fast forward to now and there are several locations in the area, this location at Summit Pointe in Chesapeake being the newest one. I'm not much of a breakfast food girl, but my family is, so we frequent this location often and I never mind it! I always try to pick something from the seasonal menu since it's only available for a limited time. I usually always get one of the drinks. I'm not even a fan of lavender, but it's growing on me and I love their Purple Haze, which is a lavender lemonade. Super refreshing and nice to look at! As for food, I usually always find something on the seasonal menu to enjoy. On our recent visit, my husband and I shared the tacos al pastor hash and the bananas Foster French toast. Both were great, but I just wish there was more pork in the al pastor hash! Few tips: - If you are going at high traffic time, go to their website and get in line online. If you time it just right, depending on how far you are, this can save you some time! - If your wait time is long, you can always put your name on the list and head over to Pale Horse down the street to sip on some coffee while you wait! You'll pass the time quickly and support a local business! - If nothing jumps at me from the seasonal menu, I always go for the traditional breakfast, the farmhouse hash or the pancakes/waffles. You definitely can't go wrong with these basics! - When you get the bill, you pay up front at the cash register - Kids meals are great here! - If your group doesn't mind the outdoors, you can sometimes get seated faster! Service has always been great there with servers being polite and efficient. Ample parking and they have a great outdoor patio. My first visit here and will not be my last. I am not a big breakfast person however I've heard amazing things and I was not disappointed!! We came around noon and the wait was not bad. Doug (Manager) was awesome enough to open the outdoor section for my husband and I and I am now currently writing this review from the sunniest spot in the place!!! The restaurant itself is clean and organized and well lit. Definitely a very European set up with the open space and outdoor seating. Our waitress Michelle was amazing and friendly and was on top of anything we could need! I ordered the Monterey Club and Cobb Salad both were phenomenal! The bacon was cooked to perfection for the sandwich and the avocados were perfect in the salad. My husband ordered the works and it came with a side of toast and jelly that was again phenomenal. We also got an order of the Fresh seasoned potatoes and they were even better than mine!!! I had a mimosa as well which again was delicious and I love how they serve water!! Love this place. Every time I try their healthy drinks or any menu item, I leave satisfied! Today I came here with my friend. I ordered the kale tonic and chicken pesto quinoa bowl. All the ingredients in the bowl were fresh. Only slight (very very slight) suggestion is to have very little of the pesto sauce served, and then the rest of the sauce on the side. This time the sauce just drowned everything in the bowl, even crispy fresh kale lost its texture/crunch! read more
