Degg West is a diner in Norfolk serving your typical breakfast and lunch items. I visited on a Saturday for lunch and this place was packed! I ended up sitting at one of the bar seats and watched as several large parties continued to put their name on the hour long waiting list. The service is extremely friendly but you can tell that they are overwhelmed with the amount of staff they have. I ordered the steak breakfast burrito and it was not something I would recommend, I should have stuck with pancakes because those looked good. The coffee was good too. No beer at this location but they do have mimosas and breakfast cocktails. Not my favorite brunch spot in Norfolk but based on the business they received I know their food can't be terrible. This place also has a cash incentive policy!

We have been coming here for years. We really enjoyed the fresh squeezed juices. Today I ordered the steak and egg breakfast burrito which was nice although I think the potatoes in it overpowered the rest of the contents. If you like fresh squeezed juices this is the place for you.

I used to frequent this place when I worked near there years ago. I was stoked to see that they were still there now that I'm working back in the area. So far I've been 3 times for lunch and neither time has disappointed. It's a small spot and every time I've been every table has been taken. There is a large bar area that always seemed to have chairs available. They are not opened on Mondays and Tuesdays which I learned the hard way. Other than that, no complaints here! Next time I will try their breakfast.

Soooooooo glad this place made it through the last year! They are open for indoor, to go, and delivery options with Door Dash! Quick not so much...AND THAT'S EXCELLENT! Not that service is slow because it's not but When I need quick I hit the drive thru. When I'm in the mood for fresh cracked eggs and made to order EVERYTHING this is my breakfast spot! We haven't tried lunch expect for the avacado bacon melt which was AMAZING. Grits are awesome, biscuits and gravy are to die for, avacado toast you need to try! Best value I think is the build your own sandwich. $5.50 gets choice of a bread, biscuit or bagel/cheese/meat/&egg. And it's huge as pictured. Haven't tried the juice yet but it's legit made in house. They even have a fancy machine for the orange juice! Try this place!

Tried something new and I'm in love! The Double Yolker - a nice big heap of crispy shredded hash browns, sautéed in a perfect mixture of onions, peppers, sausage, bacon and cheddar cheese topped with two gorgeous sunny side-up eggs, cooked how you like. Definitely the most filling dish I've had so far and for only $10...paired with a glass of their fresh, in-house-squeezed orange juice, I had myself a very filling, pleasant breakfast for $13.

We came in on a Saturday morning, good crowd of people but we didn't wait too long to be seated. We ordered French toast combo called the D'Feast it came with French toast or pancakes, 3 eggs, a side, and your choice of meat. The food was fresh and delicious. The staff is super friendly. I'm visiting a sailor here and I'm from California, I'll definitely be back when I visit again. Sorry I didn't take a picture before I ate lol.

Me and my wife saw this place across the street from another business a while back and wanted to try it out. We saw that it looked pretty packed and were excited to see what they had to offer. Once we arrived to D'egg the parking was good, it had its own private parking area and it was right off the corner of the road. Once we arrived inside the establishment we were greeted and then seated with the menu's. My wife ordered The Tri-Tip and Eggs with coffee and I ordered the D'Feast which came with 2 pancakes, 3 eggs, choice of meat (which I got the corn beef hash) and a side (which I got the hash browns). I also ordered fresh orange juice and we both received water as well. The atmosphere of the restaurant was nice and it had that diner feel and look to it and the cleanliness was good. You could tell that the business was near a military base due to the fact that there was numerous military personnel there (including us). The employees were very nice and we received our food in a good amount of time. When we got our food the presentation was nice and the food was hot and at a good temperature. My wife liked her meal and the same went for my meal as well. Everything tasted great and there was really no complaints to give except that the hash browns were a little soggy, but I'm sure you could order them more crispy if need be. So our over all experience was good and so was the food. If you are in the mood for some good breakfast dishes than this place is as good as any. Thank you so much for the food and service D'egg.

Found this place by accident. Hard to see the sign from the street, but locals know this place. Opened from 07:30 to 2:30 only, this little dinner style restaurant is good for family or out of town guests. I had the d'Feast breakfast and overall it was good. Eggs -9/10 Sourdough toast - 7/10 Hash browns - 6/10 Bacon - 6/10 Pancakes - 8/10 Service was good plenty of staff on site I counted at least 6 employees. I showed up around 09:00 on Sunday and there was 3 tables opened, by the time I left there were people waiting to be seated. Bathroom were spacious but needed to be cleaned: Bathrooms 7/10 Service 8/10 Atmosphere 9/10 They do have a policy posted in two places, one on the front door and a very small few words on bottom of menu stating prices on menu are for CASH prices only. Anyone paying with a credit card will have to pay additional fees. To me this is inconceivable on 2022. Yes we saw this 30 years ago, but I haven't seen it since, restaurants charging customers for credit card fees.

In fact, I'm known among…read moremy friends and family as a very critical eater--some have even jokingly called me a food critic. So for me to take the time to write this says a lot. From the moment we walked into Oceanview Diner, we felt at home. There was an immediate warmth--like stepping into what America is supposed to feel like--people talking, laughing, and genuinely connecting over good food. The attention to detail was impossible to miss. Fresh-cut flowers sat on each table, adding a simple but thoughtful touch. Before our meals even arrived, we were served homemade herb focaccia with olive oil--an unexpected and appreciated gesture. And yes, even the water stood out. Being near the ocean, you often get that slightly earthy taste, but this water was clean, crisp, and clearly filtered. Now, the food. I ordered the Parmesan-crusted chicken with roasted potatoes and collard greens. The chicken was juicy (not dry at all) and cooked perfectly--something that sounds simple but is rarely executed this well. The collards were good, though I personally would've liked just a touch more salt and a splash of vinegar to bring them fully to life. My partner ordered the fried flounder with asparagus and mashed potatoes and had nothing but praise. Not a single morsel was left on the plate, which tells you everything you need to know. Oceanview Diner delivered not just a meal, but an experience rooted in care, pride, and hospitality. Thank you for an amazing visit--continued success to you, and a huge job well done to the kitchen staff.

Went on a Sunday morning around 10:30 a.m. This is a seat-yourself restaurant with bar seating,…read moretables, a front outdoor seating area, and a partially enclosed back patio. Just something to keep in mind if you're visiting in the summer. The back patio does not have air conditioning. If you sit by the large front windows, be prepared for the sun. The building faces east, so by late morning the sun is shining directly through those windows. I was sitting with my back to it and was so hot. I probably could have asked them to lower the shade, but it's something to consider when choosing your table. Shana was our server, and she was great. Friendly, attentive, and checked on us regularly. Now for the best part. The sorbet mimosas. We ordered two, one with mango sorbet and one with lemon and raspberry sorbet, and they were incredible. If you come here, these are an absolute must order. We started with the fried green tomatoes. They were good, but they were clearly made from frozen slices rather than fresh-cut tomatoes. I ordered the salmon cakes with eggs and a pancake. Everything was delicious. No complaints at all. The food easily earns 5 stars. The decor has a classic old-school diner vibe with black and white checkered floors and chrome accents, which I really liked. My only real complaint was the bar seating. If you're on the shorter side, the stools are not very comfortable. The seats are not very deep, there is no foot rail to rest your feet on, and since the stools are bolted to the floor, you cannot scoot in to get comfortable. The backs of my legs started going numb, so we moved to a table as soon as one opened up. Ironically, it was the table directly in front of that hot window. Overall, I'd definitely come back. Great food, excellent service, and those sorbet mimosas alone are worth the visit. Just be strategic about where you sit if you're visiting on a warm, sunny day.

As many times as…read moreI have been on Colley and was even recently right across the street at the bike shop, I've never noticed this place. It's a very small establishment. There is some table seating as well as seating at the counter, and then there is outside seating out front and a covered patio out back. You can sit wherever you'd like that is open. First we sat at the counter because that was all that was available inside. The bar stools are mounted to the ground and were too high for short folks making them uncomfortable. There isn't a place to rest your feet and you can't move the seats back so that you can move your body forward. We ended up moving to a table when another couple left, and that was MUCH better! Shana was our waitress, and she was great. Super nice and very attentive. Also did a good job of keeping our table free of clutter. We had the fried green tomatoes, and those were really fresh and good. I like the sauce that came with them, and I am glad they put it on the side vs serving it on top of the dish. For my meal, I had their homemade corn-beef hash with 2 eggs with cheese and substituted the biscuit or toast for a single pancake. We also had coffee and the sorbet mimosa in mango/lemon and another in raspberry/lemon. I personally did not care for the hash. While it was absolutely real, fresh corn beef, I didn't like the flavor. It was on the sweeter side, and I like mine more savory and with a more charred cook. I didn't eat it. The eggs and pancake were good. I will say their syrup is watery. It is not the thick consistency you would expect from normal syrup. It's better for dipping vs pouring on. I also tasted my sisters salmon cakes and THAT is what I should've gotten - AMAZING! All I needed was a little bit of mustard. The sorbet mimosa was SO good and super refreshing for such a hot morning. Speaking of hot, we are currently going through a heat wave, and it's been 100+ outside for the past few days. With that said, the restaurant was very warm. Between it being so small and the heavy traffic in and out, there's just no way for the AC to keep up. Keep that in mind if visiting on a super hot day. I will absolutely come back. There are other dishes I'd like to try. The service was great and everybody was super friendly! Definitely worth trying for yourself.

The place inside is very cute and reminds me of a nice punk pop bar. The bar wraps around and there's some tables and a side table that we sat at to eat. It jiggled when I tapped it and the side salad tasted great with dill in it and it brightened up things. The combination of both was great. The crust on the quiche was nice as well. My spouse enjoyed their sandwich but didn't realize there was mustard so he ended up just using the chips to eat his egg and sausage. His egg was also fluffy. Everything was fresh and easy to grab, which worked perfectly for a party setting. The best part by far was the taco bar. I had the beef tacos and they were seriously some of the best tacos I've had in a while. The beef was super flavorful and cooked perfectly, and I definitely went back for more than one. You know it's good when everyone keeps circling back for seconds. Even though I was there for a private event, I really liked the vibe of the place. It feels like somewhere you could easily pop in with friends, grab a drink, and hang out without it feeling stuffy or rushed. I only had wine, so I haven't tried their cocktails yet, but that's definitely next on my list. If the food is any indication, I'm sure the drinks won't disappoint. This is a great spot for events, but also seems like a solid go-to for a laid-back night out. I'll definitely be back!
