This would be a great space for an event. There were the typical booths and tables. The decor was very dated but it matched the vibe of the place. The bathrooms were clean. They do have a bar and it seemed to have a variety of liquor. The salad bar is very small but you can make a great salad if you choose to. Our server was awesome and explained the menu. I ordered the chicken salad cold plate. It came with chicken salad, potato salad and coleslaw. I'm a snob when it comes to chicken and potato salad and these were some of the best I've had. She did mention that everything, mostly , is made from scratch in house. The fries were cooked perfectly. It's annoying that some folks cannot go to places without causing issues. Random thought: I wish Waffle House would provide other cheeses besides American cheese, because I think this bowl would have been AMAZING with cheddar or Swiss cheese. She is friendly, professional, kind, intelligent, and has a great sense of humor. Yes, I'm a great cook and can make all of the things on the menu and probably better. However, not having to cook and able to come to IHOP for good food and great service makes a difference. I'd recommend that the manager/regional manager (whomever); be more proactive and intentional about training other staff; making sure staff and managers wear the proper uniforms; secure a private space for staff personal things; have a separate area for organizing utensils and napkins; make efforts to really welcome customers; and, share the importance of teamwork and supporting each other. This will take some of the pressure off of one or two staff that are amazing. I gave 4 s because Jay always writes down my order correctly but the kitchen staff always misses something. BUT... But the pile of salt, flavored with mashed potatoes was not so appealing. All I could taste was salt. They were obviously boxed mashed potatoes. I decided to have one of my husband's French fries, and they were so salty that I had to brush all the grains of salt off of my hands after handling one. Maybe they are happier when customers don't come around? Maybe their salt supply was getting ready to expire, so they took advantage of using it up on the two diners who forgot to check reviews before entering the restaurant. I don't know. I could let the worst case suspicions run through my head, as to why they salt-dumped the potatoes, but there are just as many innocent reasons. I think the cook was just as inexperienced as the waiter. Perhaps the cook WAS the waiter. If ihop is saving money on electricity, maybe they have a one-man restaurant running everything. We went to pay the bill, and of course, nobody was at the register. The waiter took my card in the back, instead of the register, where I expected him to ring it up. The entire meal - salmon with broccoli and potato-flavored salt and beef tips with broccoli and fries cost $44 and some change with an $8 tip. This is a very sad restaurant. They need to try to do better, or pull the plug and let it slip into eternity to serve angels with Howard Johnson's and Chi-Chi's.

They haven't had customers in a while, so the broccoli spent a lot of time in the freezer. But here's the thing: for what we paid, we deserved a fresh bag of broccoli. If I wanted food like this, I could've grabbed food from the back of my freezer and cooked it myself. It bothers me that it would've taken just a few extra steps to make the establishment an enjoyable dining experience. Maybe they foul it up because they don't enjoy serving large crowds. The younger generation has no work ethics. I will not eat at this store again.

I said how about some utensils to eat with? She left and never came back! Thank God we got spoons for the coffee or we would have had to eat with our hands!!!! She could tell I was shocked and got huffy-puffy with me and said, "What, you don't want your tea now?" and I told her I did, but I never opened the honey because I was catching on to what she was doing. I eventually told her to take the honey jar back, and I would use sugar instead. When we asked her for boxes, she brought them to us and just stood there, interrupting our conversation, forcing us to check out right then and there! It was super uncomfortable... I was feeling suspicious of her, so I asked to see my receipt because she obviously wasn't planning on giving me one. She wanted me to pay directly on her toast tablet and do it immediately because she was just awkwardly standing there! And as I asked for a receipt, we told her we wanted to split the pancake we shared because we were paying separately. She became noticeably agitated and said she wouldn't be able to print my receipt then.. which didn't make any sense at all. My friend and I both used those toast tablets at prior serving jobs, we knew she was being fishy. We told her just don't split it then, bring us receipts. She brought them with an attitude and bad energy and walked away. I was charged for the salsa and sour cream she OFFERED me without letting me know they were an upcharge! My home fries came out burnt, and the burrito had absolutely no flavor. I didn't even use the sour cream; I was debating asking for a manager and getting it off my bill... but my friend and I figured if she has been here this long with that kind of service, management obviously doesn't care and is in on the scheming behavior too. I DID NOT tip her, because she was being deceptive the entire time. I did not ASK for sour cream and salsa; she offered it to me and never let me know it was an upcharge. Her attitude is also a big factor in why she did not get a tip from me, and I'm usually a 20 percent or more tipper. She also quickly turned it away from me when I was signing the tablet and mumbled something again, then went over to another waitress, and i could visibly see her talking crap about me. I tried to call and talk to a manager, but you can't call to talk to anyone; they don't even have a welcoming voicemail! I will NEVER EVERRRRRRRRR go back to this place, and I will tell everyone I know about the experience too. Stay away from this soul-sucking place!
