Ms. Jay Rocks!! We've been coming here for about 2 years and we ALWAYS ask for her. If she's not working, we don't stay (sorry)... So the first thing is that people have to understand that IHOP is IHOP. Period. Stop expecting white glove service. Just expect good customer service, a clean establishment, good food, and respect. That's all. I must say that Jay is amazing. She goes above and beyond to make sure that her tables are well taken care of. AND, she is very aware of her surroundings and assists other customers/tables that aren't even her tables. Jay is extremely knowledgeable about the brand, the menu, and the facility. She is friendly, professional, kind, intelligent, and has a great sense of humor. Yes, I'm a great cook and can make all of the things on the menu and probably better. However, not having to cook and able to come to IHOP for good food and great service makes a difference. I'd recommend that the manager/regional manager (whomever); be more proactive and intentional about training other staff; making sure staff and managers wear the proper uniforms; secure a private space for staff personal things; have a separate area for organizing utensils and napkins; make efforts to really welcome customers; and, share the importance of teamwork and supporting each other. This will take some of the pressure off of one or two staff that are amazing. I gave 4 s because Jay always writes down my order correctly but the kitchen staff always misses something. BUT... I wish we had read the reviews before dining there. When we entered the restaurant, we didn't even know it was open. There was nobody to greet us at the door; nobody to seat us...nobody even dining in the store. The lights were turned down low, as if they were closed to the public, but still open to the cleaning staff. We saw what we thought were a couple of diners sitting at a far table, when one looked over at us, stood up, went into the kitchen (probably to inform a cook on his cellphone, "We have customers, and these look like they're staying"), then greeted us. When he approached us, we found him difficult to hear. He seemed very shy, and I got the strange feeling that we were putting him out, for deciding to dine in that restaurant. He led us to our table. There was nobody else in the entire place. I ordered the salmon (well done), broccoli (cooked well), and mashed potatoes. My order took longer to cook, but i had specific high demands that took longer to cook, so I didn't mind. They brought out my husband's order first, then mine came about 5 minutes later. The broccoli was really good. I think they put it on the grill and cooked it with the salmon. My husband's broccoli was not well cooked, but it was hot. He was fine with his broccoli, but I was very grateful for the way it was cooked. It tasted good and the salmon was delicious, as well. But the pile of salt, flavored with mashed potatoes was not so appealing. All I could taste was salt. They were obviously boxed mashed potatoes. I decided to have one of my husband's French fries, and they were so salty that I had to brush all the grains of salt off of my hands after handling one. Maybe they are happier when customers don't come around? Maybe their salt supply was getting ready to expire, so they took advantage of using it up on the two diners who forgot to check reviews before entering the restaurant. I don't know. I could let the worst case suspicions run through my head, as to why they salt-dumped the potatoes, but there are just as many innocent reasons. I think the cook was just as inexperienced as the waiter. Perhaps the cook WAS the waiter. If ihop is saving money on electricity, maybe they have a one-man restaurant running everything. We went to pay the bill, and of course, nobody was at the register. The waiter took my card in the back, instead of the register, where I expected him to ring it up. The entire meal - salmon with broccoli and potato-flavored salt and beef tips with broccoli and fries cost $44 and some change with an $8 tip. This is a very sad restaurant. They need to try to do better, or pull the plug and let it slip into eternity to serve angels with Howard Johnson's and Chi-Chi's. read more

I think it is well documented that this IHOP is a joke. However the young man who waited on us did the best he could to get us our food. We had eighteen people and everyone was feed and no food was returned. It did take about two hours but we had good conversation. read more

Wow not a great experience. Jazzy was my server. She was actually pleasant and quick. However upon leaving I asked another server (Jenny) if I may have ketchup to go. She looked at me rolled her eyes and said no but I'll get your server. Went to the back and yelled who had my table and nice jazzy came back out and politely handed me ketchup. So I had my first experience here with curbside pickup and I was very impressed. The food was prepared perfectly and it had such a neat presentation. I've ordered this entree many times dining in and it's never this beautiful looking. When I got it, It was still hot, not lukewarm like it has been sitting, as a lot of restaurants do as they tend to prepare the food too far ahead of time. The person that answered the phone was also very pleasant, and delivered my food quickly. I was expecting less, cause ihop can be kinda a blah experience sometimes. But this was great. Worst service in history. came in @ 1015a 9/2/2024 2 adults, 2 little kids We walked in, bearly any customers in the building. Waited 10 min to be seated Waited another 15 min for my family to even be acknowledged after being seated. Waited 15 min for our drink orders of water, coffee, Orange Juice, and lemonade. The waiter came back to the table and said they were out of lemonade and Orange Juice. A different waiter brought out Orange Juice and not the other drinks. (apparently, they had OJ, no lemonade) After 10 min, I had to get the original waiter's attention to get our remaining drinks. (2 waters and coffee, since the lemonade was out) The waiter comes back after 20 minutes to take our orders. waited 30 min for 1 order to come out, the kid's meal. waited an additional 10 min for the rest of the orders to come out. All orders were missing pancakes and sausage, the eggs weren't prepared properly. Waited 10 min to get the waiter's attention to let him know. 10 min later we got pancakes, eggs, still missing meats. 10 min later we got the meats. Waited 15 min for the waiter to bring the check after flagging him down. The check was wrong, he overcharged us for items we didn't order. asked him to fix it and we checked out. checked out @ 1245p Come on iHop I was with hungry little kids. you have to do better than this. After a long night of work I had a choice do IHOP or W.H. Because I was closer to my house I decided to go I Hop. Big mistake. When I go to a restaurant that actually has the name of a food in the name of the restaurant I expect that particular food item to be done well. We'll get to that in a second. The service was okay there were only two other people in the entire restaurant and I was seated pretty quickly. She asked me what I wanted to drink and brought those right out. I placed my order and everything was going great. When the food was brought out that's when everything started going downhill. I can't remember the name of the platter but I had 2 pieces of ham 2 sausage links 2 eggs cooked over easy and an order hash browns w/ two pancakes. The first thing I noticed was an undercooked hash browns I was hungry so I didn't really make a big deal about it but they definitely look like they were thrown on the grill and immediately taken off. Everything else was cooked through from what I can tell. Except for the pancakes. I ate everything else on the plate and decided to eat the pancakes last. Now this goes back to me saying if the name of a particular food is in the name of your restaurant I expect you to do this well. Pancakes were undercooked. And I'm not talking about sorry I mean once I open up a pancake there was batter on the inside. Because I had already paid my ticket I just got up and left. The other two people that were in the restaurant had already eaten and we're just sitting there so whoever was back there cooking didn't have anybody else to cook for. I really don't know what with the big rush was. They served mr undercooked pancakes and undercooked potatoes. That has just turned me off of this place completely. me and my friend came to this IHOP today. It first took us 10 minutes to be sat in an empty restaurant. then once we were sat it took 10 minutes to get our drinks. it then took 30 minutes for someone to come over to get our orders. then it took 30 minutes to get our food. mind you this is an empty restaurant. then it took us about 20 minutes to waive someone down to get silverware. by that time, our food was about cold. we had nobody check on us the entire time. then once we told the guy that we wanted separate checks, my friends card was ran three times for the same charge. and when asked about it he was confused and did not understand a word we were saying. by far the worst experience i've ever had anywhere. the manager was sitting at the table near us and never gave us an inch of help for anything. read more

Came here for a team breakfast with a group of about 12 people. There was only one server assigned to us and as nice as she was, service was super slow. I am glad I wasn't starving because I'm not myself when I haven't been fed. I do like that they have breakfast options to suit varying hunger levels. During my visit, they were featuring the 2x2x2 (2 eggs, 2 pancakes and 2 sausages or bacon) for $4.99. I found this to be a filling option and pretty simple for a quick breakfast. They definitely get points for preparing my scrambled eggs correctly. The food was warm at best probably as they waited until the entire table's orders were ready for delivery. Several of us had to request utensils and only some of us were served water. Our server was clearly overwhelmed. There were only a handful of other diners and no other servers stepped in to assist. We still tipped her graciously as it is the right thing to do and she was putting forth a good effort to attend to us. We order through DoorDash, first time they confirmed the order and said it was ready for pickup, then they CANCELLED the order!!!! Today, DoorDash app shows they confirmed the order and ready for pickup but when the driver got there, said they didn't even see the order, then came running out the door with the order. So first impressions are everything and they gave me a bad one. To start, whoever mops the lobby floor never cleans the mop head. As soon as you walk in a foul odor mixed with bleach hits you. That coupled with waiting forever to be served ruins the experience before you ever get to how the food tastes or how quickly it arrives. When I did get the food it did taste good. After the Chesapeake Square IHOP burned down last year, this is the one that we now go to. It's an alright place. The service was quick and the food was average. I enjoy the coffee, and my sisters always like getting their pancakes. The only complaint i have is that there is not much inclusivity of other diets in their menu. As a vegan, the only thing I could really get were hash browns and an English muffin with avocado. It wasn't a horrible breakfast, but definitely something I could've made at home for a lower price. But, for what it's worth, this is not unlike other IHOPs, in that it is what it is. read more

My server was courteous and openly admitted upon his introduction that he was in training however the problems never came from him other than maybe some open misleading promises of our food coming. My party of 6 ordered 2 pancake combos, 2 kids meals (we were turned down for the sprinkles pancakes but, they were delivered to another table after our order), Colorado omelet and a crepe combo. Now there was a group of 10 people there and a party of 4 already seated. The 4 party although not evident in the beginning had already received their food. The large party eventually got there food shortly after we were there. Two parties of 2 were seated after us. Both parties received their food before us. Again we were told ours was coming. It's been an hour we finally decided to leave. (Mind you we went for the 2 kids pancakes) My party leaves and I stay to address the issues with the manager. The manager tells me my food is ready NOW. But there was a delay because of my large party and the Colorado omelet. Plus some of the food was ready and they were waiting for other items to be ready. So I'm honestly confused if she gave me multiple excuses to cover all the bases or wasn't sure herself why we didn't get food for such a looong time. This is a fairly new location and the rating for this place as accurate as it is; is unacceptable. I don't know what areas need to be adjusted but from today's events I would start in the kitchen and trickle to the management. Where to start..this was my second visit to this particular IHOP and only bc Village Inn had a 30 minute wait. This is the same reason I ended up at this IHOP the previous time as well. Should've held out for Village Inn or just gone to Waffle House. Next time, I will. When we arrived at IHOP I asked how long the wait was. I was told 10-15 minutes. We waited 30. All the while there was two 4 tops open directly in front of me and the whole time and then saw the whole back section was being shut down bc the waiters were leaving. Fast forward to us (party of 3) finally getting sat. We waited another 15 minutes to be greeted by our waiter, Rob, who I watched walk past us several times with no acknowledgement and actually SIT DOWN at another table and talk!! He had a total of 3 tables when we were sat and I myself having previous waiting experience know that 3 tables is nothing and this is obvious since he had time to sit down and have a chat with a couple not once, but SEVERAL times. Let's get to the food. My eggs were raw. I didn't eat them and my waiter never asked why or of something was wrong with them. My waffle was cold. But at this point, I was starving since it was nearly 1 p.m. and we got there a little before 12. My son got chicken and fries and the fries were greasy and over cooked. The chicken strips were okay. My daughter got pancakes with eggs and they were okay as well. We were never asked if we wanted refills even when we ran out of drinks. We will not be dining at this IHOP again. This store really is THE worst! 7:15ish in the am, my family was the only ones there... they had 1 person working the hostess station & dining room! Took a good while to get our drinks then the person disappeared, we could hear laughter & what not coming from the kitchen. Our food came out cold & inedible. The manager offered to remake the food, but we didn't have time to wait for a redo as I had to get to work... to compensate us for all the uneaten food, the manager took off a mere 20%! This was the worst managed IHOP that I have ever been too. The experience was a testament to a lack of, or exceptionally poor, training of the manager and the employees. People did not greet you and if they spoke it was as if you were an inconvenience and interruption to their day. In addition there were people just standing around, clueless to their opportunity to contribute to a wonderful service experience. The Orange juice was basically water with a spritz of Juice. The old coffee pots were not removed from the table, food being served slide off the plate before it was placed on the table. Sugar containers were empty, Creamer had to be asked for and when checking out we had to wait 10minutes for someone to show up to take our money. Terrible! I ordered the Buttermilk Crispy chicken and the Jr cupcakes with bacon, the chicken sandwich was remade twice because they couldn't get it right my son had bacon and they brought out sausages no refills on the beverages and my friend two x two x two she requested a fried hard egg and obtain scrambled with cheese and a dash of unwanted sprinkle must have been on another plate or to close for comfort by another. It's Christmas Day and this IHOP was totally not ready for it. I don't understand why when every article you read that's open on Christmas Day is IHOP. Also, this IHOP is very new, smaller than most, and was not understaffed. Plenty of open tables with a list going and the hostess was told not to seat until the kitchen catches up. When we got sat after an hour, I'm not sure how the kitchen is backed up with there was hardly anyone in the place. The manager finally emerged to man the crowded front of those who were waiting to pay. It was ridiculous. The hostess said they were very slow this morning and they were not expecting the rush. My food was served to me cold. The waitress did not check on me to see why I was ot eating it. When she finally did make the time to check on me, I told her to take it back and not to bother making another one. I ended up getting a fish sandwich combo from Mc Donald's. It appears that the kitchen in this IHOP was unaware people come here to eat pancakes. The Colorado omelet and eggs bene we order came out in a reasonable time. The pancakes not so much. They must of broke out the "How to make Pancakes" manual to figure out what they're suppose to do. Another family walked out because of the delay. I only gave one star b/c I had to, to post review. I had heard stories about the horrible service but me & my mother still gave it a shot & the eggs were suppose to be sunny side up they were over cooked, the toast was hard as a rock, the steak was nothing but fat & dry. You ask why did I eat it then I ordered to go. I called & spoke w/ Pam she had a slight attitude with us and then offered to refund the money or replace the order so we told her we'd replace the order. We today we call & tell them we're coming. We get there 40 mins later & the cashier tells us that he is about to put the order in & it'll be a 20 min wait we called 40 mins prior!! We then got another manager who refunded us our money. We will not be returning but I thank the second manager for not being rude. read more
