This location has plenty of parking and is relatively large. It was also clean and spacious inside. I came here with the fam and ordered the Floridian French toast. The toast was great and the fruit provided great color and textures to the plate. However, I was still a tad peckish. Some members of my family ordered the blueberry multigrain pancakes. Whilst good, the presentation left much to be desired when compared to what everyone else ordered. It was literally one giant pancake that fit the entire plate. Went here around 10:30 am and it was a packed house; we had a pretty long wait. Opted to sit outside since the weather was nice and it felt cramped on the inside. Service was just ok, we weren't checked on regularly and it took a little min for us to even get to place our orders. I tried the Farmhouse skillet hash (7.5/10) it looked really good, but fell short on flavor and seasoning for me. I also had the Honey Caramel Crunch coffee (9/10). After the long wait time to be seated, to order, and for the food to arrive, my excitement and satisfaction with dining here became low. I probably wouldn't revisit this location in particular, but I'm considering trying this restaurant again, somewhere else. They have different seasonal menus I'd like to try. This is our usual breakfast spot because it is usually at least a four star. The best thing about our meal was the server. She was great. Everything you want a server to be. Attentive and smiled and kind and nice. The food wasn't so great, my wife ordered the special sandwich. It was good but messy and not great. She liked the flavors but it dripped everywhere. I ordered a hash and the potatoes weren't all the way done some were some were not. The eggs were fine but there was huge chunks of tomato the sun dried kind in it. It was not their typical affair. We decided to share a pancake. It was huge which is not a bad thing until you cut into it now I have a cardboard textured pancake that I cannot eat. It was not fluffy nor had any good flavor. Busy Sunday morning fresh out of a great church service hunger led us to First Watch. I've forgotten all about this restaurant. We received a friendly greeting as the greeter opened the door for a sweet old lady like me. I was very appreciative of his act of chivalry as my husband followed behind me. He sat us immediately and laid menus on the clean table. Another welcome from handsome Carlos offered water and drinks. Just 2 coffees. He gave us a minute to look at the menus as he quickly arrived with our nice hit coffee. Each time here, I have enjoyed the smoked salmon fritatta. The smoked salmon is cooked into the eggs with roasted vegetables. My first time I thought I was ordering Lox. It's still really good, so it's my regular now. This one was just slightly overcooked but enjoyable. First Watch offers good food, quickly. This is a well run establishment. The employees moved with knowledgeable precision. Super late review. We visited on 10/23/24 and our server was Brianna. This was my first visit as we're from Washington and were in town visiting family (saved the receipt to remember to review). Brianna was super friendly and helpful. The cafe is cute and clean. It was slow when we arrived so we didn't have to wait. My receipt says 2:03PM so we probably got there about 1PM. We had the salted caramel donuts, salmon and veggie fritter, soup and sandwich, and biscuits with turkey gravy. The baby loved everything and so did we. We also had the kale tonic and morning meditation for drinks and they were both delicious and refreshing. Not being from the area, I'm not sure how the prices are in comparison to similar restaurants/cafes, but compared to Washington, prices were on par to cheap. Not huge portions or anything, but we did take some home. Overall, we really enjoyed eating here and would love to go back when we visit Suffolk again. Let me start saying this locations extremely cold so ladies bring a light jacket or sweater. Next it is very loud so don't expect to have a conversation without yelling at your party. We were told 20 to 30 minutes wait to be seated, is was more like 10-15. They have a great cold brew coffee and fresh kale juice. The problem we experienced is how long it takes to make a omelet and a salad! Food service at this location is really slow so bring your patience with your appetite. When our food did arrive I must admit it was worth the wait. My salad was outstanding and my wife really enjoyed the omelet that she ordered to taste. My friend brought her 1-year old and was given a high chair and a coloring sheet with crayons for him. They also have booster seats. They had their fall menu and I ordered the Barbacoa Quesadilla Benedict - SO good! I also ordered their new Honey Caramel Crunch Iced Coffee. 5... BUT.... I just have one gripe, PLEASE FIX the men's urinal. For real. Went here the first time and thought there was just a "oh that needs fixing" issue... now it's a no... they've become complacent and won't fix the disgusting urinal that reeks when you walk in the men's bathroom. I've never seen it actually flush... and when it does, it definitely doesn't drain. Outside of that, this place is awesome. The staff has always been crazy friendly, food great, and atmosphere fun. We know we like to go here and the only time we came and turned around was when the staff didn't want to sit us outside. I guess it was a little colder and they were short staffed. We like to go places that allow us to bring our dogs so we just ended up going to the local beer place close by. Overall, this place is great. You really can't go wrong and I know for a fact we'll come back. I just hope they don't get complacent and neglect things along the way. Okay, literally every time I go here, they up their game. My friend and I sat outside after our morning walk (around 9:30), and our server was literally the most kind ever. Her customer service was above & beyond, and she was thrilled to have us (or so she seemed- haha!). I asked if they had agave for my iced coffee, and she said she didn't think so, but apparently asked around, and came back to our table and said, "I have a surprise for you!" She found agave for me! The fact that she didn't let it go was really above & beyond to me. Besides the bomb service, the food was AMAZING. We made reservations and arrived before our 10:30 am appointment on Sunday. When we arrived, we were told it would still be 20-25 min wait, even though we didn't see any long line. Slightly raining outside, and there is no inside waiting area. Around 10:45 we were taken to our 4 person table. I saw a picture of this great looking burrito that I wanted to order, but my wife looked it up and it has OVER 3,500 mgs of sodium, more than an entire day and a half worth. It needs to come with a high sodium warning. Far too many restaurants these days don't care about sodium and as a result more and more Americans have high blood pressure. I ordered avocado toast, 2 scrambled eggs and a side of hash browns. The avocado toast was good but would have been much better if the toast was hot or even just warm. Scrambled eggs were average, and the hash browns were below average little "cubes" that obviously are out of a freezer. Not a fan of these square cube hash browns at all; taste, texture, etc., are below average. My wife got the sausage biscuits, and she said they used turkey in place of sausage which she really liked as it is healthier. My son got the pancakes and they were more than he could eat. And my mother had waffles and eggs. The glasses we were given for water were quite small. They bring a glass container of ice-cold water so you can refill water yourself, which was nice. The wait staff forgot my mom's coffee cup, and she was standing at the front door more than she spent time checking on us. She wasn't very customer-focused or welcoming, her service was below average. I'm glad First Watch came to HarbourView, it's a nice looking place. But there are some areas for improvement. Note: I love seeing new businesses come in and do well, so I hate having to give some negative feedback. But if I don't, there's no understanding that there's a need to fix a few things. read more

I was craving pancakes, so I decided to order the lemon ricotta pancakes. The lemon ricotta pancakes came with fresh, whipped ricotta cheese to a multigrain batter. They are served as a mid-stack of two pancakes topped with marinated berries and creamy lemon curd. They mention the "pancakes are humongous," but I wouldn't necessarily say that. Are they more significant than average? Yes, but are they huge...not really. They were good, and I was glad I ordered them. I like lemon flavor and really enjoyed the lemon-flavored curd. Service: The host at First Watch was pleasant, and the entire staff was nice. Despite there being a relatively long wait, the food was ready quickly. I have no complaints. Cost: For my pancake and coffee, it was $15. While more expensive for diner food, it wasn't the most expensive food I've had. Overall Thoughts/Would I Come Back? Visited first watch for the first time on a Saturday morning around 930am. We were greeted by staff right away and there was no wait to be seated. The waiter was quick to bring us drinks and take our order. The inside is beautiful and decorated really well. There is outside seating as well and if it was a little warmer we would have sat outside. The food was absolutely delicious. I had a spring special, avocado toast with lump crab and my husband had bananas foster. He had so many good things to say about it, which is unlike him so it must have been really good. I heard about First Watch when I went to Baltimore MD, the menu looked great but I didn't get to try them so I was happy to find them here at home. We went to the Suffolk location Sunday Morning, the parking lot was packed! We put our name on the list about 10:25 and was advised it would be a 45-50 min wait. It ended up being an hour and 10 minute wait. A little tip if you join the waitlist online you still have to go to the desk and check in. For my meal I ordered The Traditional breakfast which was pork sausage, egg, 1 French toast and I added a side of grits. The food was delicious! Enjoyed a lovely brunch here with my mom this morning. I have been to First Watch before, but this was my first time at the Suffolk location. It is lovely! They have a nice modern farmhouse look and plenty of large windows allowing natural light. We were seated right away and our waitress was very sweet and friendly, checking on us often. They have a nice selection of breakfast, lunch, and brunch items on the menu and always have some creative specials. There are plenty of healthier options, but we skipped right over those and I chose the French Toast made with brioche, and my mom chose one of the current specials, Bananas Foster French Toast. Our food came out quickly after only 10-15 minutes. Both meals were fresh, hot, and delicious. I loved the berry compote that came with mine. It was the perfect balance of sweetness and tartness. The odd thing about me is that I'm usually not a "go eat breakfast at a restaurant or cafe" type of person, and that's mostly because I'd probably never wake up in time for it to be considered breakfast for me. It's just something weird about me and while it doesn't have much to do with this review, it kind of does since I've been there for a late breakfast - we can call it brunch I guess - twice so far, and did one to-go order. Now, First Watch is right next to Club Pilates in Harborview - in the next building - and for a while now I'd been wanting to try them. I always see a bunch of cars parked near First Watch, which indicated to me that this was definitely a favorite spot for a lot of Suffolk peeps. Well, one day after Pilates class, I decided to try it. The wait wasn't too bad at all, and I highly recommend securing your place in line by using the First Watch app. (Side note: that app is great for ordering to go as well. It's just a really great app and makes it convenient to check in without getting out in the rain or cold when there's a long line out front.) Every employee that I interacted with on both of my visits were so amicable and catered to the needs of everyone in the restaurant. No matter if it was super busy or slightly busy, I could see them always anticipating on what a table needs. I don't think I had to ask for anything really, since they took care of everything ahead of time. The atmosphere was also really relaxed and enjoyable, and I just felt like the staff really helped with that. The food is also great! Can't forget the food now. So far I've tried the Chickachanga and then the Chile Chorizo omelet. Both were so good! It didn't look like it was a big portion but honestly I could never finish it at the restaurant. It made for good leftovers and made me want to go back again! I think my favorites to order right now are the Purple Haze drink (which I was told may disappear sometime in May so try it while you can!) and the Million-Dollar Bacon. Ughhh that bacon is *amazing* and it seems I always have to have an order when I go. No shame in my bacon game, it's just THAT good. It's located in a neighborhood restaurant area and it is very welcoming, the staff was professional and nice. The location was perfect and I really enjoyed the food and atmosphere.
