I love the space that Gather offers for meeting up for coffee, tea, and goodies. I typically love an americano, but I don't love theirs. I do like their London Fog. Their regular pour coffee is also good. They are very friendly, but as it is very popular, it normally takes a while to receive your food/drinks. As for food, they have a lot of great options. My son loves their scones. I wouldn't recommend their avocado toast, as the avocado is packaged and not fresh. It doesn't have a nice flavor. read more

I had another great experience here! The fall matchas are worth a try. I had the spiced maple...yum! I also tried the pumpkin chicken salad - no it doesn't have pumpkin. It has pumpkin spiced mayo and candied pecans. It was really good. The service was great. I don't have to wait long to place my order or for my order. I don't know why I wanted so long to try this place. I've driven by it almost daily and never tried it. First this is the cutest coffee spot. It has a very clean minimal decor vibe but is still very welcoming and comfortable. There are large tables, sofas, a nice bar and arm chairs to gather in and the music is loud enough to mute conversations but not so loud as to disturb the vibe. The menu is simple. Coffees, teas seasonal drinks, sandwiches and pastries. My husband and I were taking a quick break from. Hopping and decided on drinks and a pastry. We ordered the grinch matcha latte, a gingerbread latte and a spinach feta pastry. Omg both of us loved the grinch. I've been searching for a matcha I could enjoy and this is it! All the right notes: not too sweet, creamy and the matcha well blended in the milk-think no grainy residue at the end. If I'm in the matcha mood I'm coming to get this. The grinch was so good I think it made the gingerbread latte less exciting but it was still delicious! The expresso was strong so for a non Coffee drinker like me it wasn't my favorite but my husband thought it was great. The pastry came out hot and was delicious. Everything came out fairly fast so even with the crowd we were there less than 30 minutes. I want to come back and try more drinks and a salad that seems up my alley. I was worried about the artichokes throwing off the taste but I didn't even notice or taste them. The barista recommended the Hulk smoothie, & I regrettably went for it. I would not recommend this smoothie. I could get past more than a few sips. It was bland aside from a powdery flavor. When we walked in, we were hit with a strong odor of bleach. Plus side, means the place is clean. Down side, the smell was so over powering that it was nauseating. Fortunately, the friendly staff greeted us immediately and we decided to stay and give them a try. We had an oat milk almond matcha latte. It was interesting. A little too perfume tasting to my liking but my companion loved it. I did enjoy the matcha and was happy to find another cafe that doesn't get me sick (Intense lactose intolerance). Will try it without the almond next time. We also had a wildflower latte. Didn't try it due to the dairy but my companion liked it. I'm not a fan of flowery drinks so doubt I'll try this one. Treats were a lemon curd muffin. Massive and tasty! We shared it because it was so big. We also had a croissant, one of the better ones I've had lately. Buttery and flakey. I love this spot! I've been a couple times before to meet a friend for a bite and then to meet another friend for a Saturday morning coffee, but today I went to get a salad for a late lunch. I tried the winter salad and they were able to sub the chicken for avocado as my protein, and I was so grateful (I'm not a big meat eater). Overall, I dig Gather -- been looking for some remote spots to start working again, and this one is an easy drive from my house. It's a large open space and they've done a good job spacing things out so you don't feel like people are on top of you. PROS - really nice staff, a side conference room away from the main area for more quiet, outdoor seating, a variety of tasty beverages and eats, the music here is NEVER annoying like it can be at some coffeehouses, ample easy parking, free wi-fi, rewards program. CONS - some of the menu items are pretty pricey ($6 for a pot of loose-leaf tea), lack of space at peak times (apparently people can "rent" the conference room, not use the whole space and then kick people out who are trying to work who were there first), wi-fi can fade in and out at times. Most everything I've ordered here has been alright -- though I am perplexed that they don't have any ketchup and that lavender chocolate tea is seriously disgusting. Everyone is always really pleasant and they have pastries and things like avocado toast. A little on the higher side for cost but you get to eat on a real plate, so do you what you will with that information? Coffee is really decent even when you get it to go definitely worth a quick stop. All of a sudden there are double standards on who has to wear a mask and who does not? Not acceptable! I am a weekly patron and wear my mask everywhere I go. Being a Christian, I like to support this business but I Do Not like being Singled Out! I went up to the line 3 times to order but was unable to get through. Finally I came back to my table until there was no one in line and quickly ran back up to order. The lady immediately told me I had to have a mask to order. She passed me one and I ordered. As soon as i sat down a young guy came in, no mask at all. Stood in line, ordered then stood at the bar socializing, getting sweetener and chatting. No mask from start to finish. I had to hold back from ordering even more food because everything looks amazing. They used unique and fresh ingredients for everything and you get quite the bang for your buck on everything. I also got a strawberry watermelon smoothie and it was a breath of fresh air! Ambiance: really cute and cozy. We stopped by here on a slow time of a Monday morning. The location is wide open and spacious. Several people and a small group were parked for a long haul stay. We easily ordered at the front, but the food items took a while to come out. I got a salmon avocado toast... it was amazing! The bread was this tasty, thick wheat bread that had been toasted. It had a shaved strip of carrot on it, some sushi grade salmon, and a couple seaweed strips. It comes with a sweetened soy sauce-like "dip" that you can drizzle on or dip into. My friend enjoyed her hot latte, I ordered the mocha orange hazelnut iced latte that was a special. It was a decent latte but I wasn't a huge fan of the quality of the flavored syrup. I kept having to stir it cause it would separate and fall to the bottom. It was also a fairly small serving, maybe 12 oz. Compared to big name franchises, the cost was high here for the drink and small in quantity. The tables and such are all sturdy and their bathroom was clean. You bus your own table and need to put cups and spoon in dish bins at the trash bar. read more

I absolutely recommend Gather. Tried it out with my f fiend last week who has a serious allergy to wheat, and they went ABOVE AND BEYOND to ensure that she had food to eat and a warm drink. The lady who helped us (Dee) did not rush my friend and even checked on us to make sure her food was safe from any cross contamination. It was amazingly sweet of her. I have been wanting to visit Gather since I found out that it is affiliated to my church. I wanted to support Community Church and since the weather is cold and wet, I decided to finally give this place a try. When we got in, I was surprised to see how big this cafe is. This place does not feel stuffy and it is very bright. The tables are not to close together, which is good because it doesn't make you feel like you are invading other people's privacy. I also like how there's some single chairs where you can work or study and at the same time make you feel comfortable. When it comes to ordering, the menus are place by the counter. We have to excuse ourselves from someone who is ordering just to get the menu. Other than that, the menu was pretty easy to understand. We also enjoyed our coffee. We ordered cappuccino and our white chocolate mocha. I also likes that it is served in reusable cups instead of the disposable cups. Our drinks tasted good and the temperature is just right. Maybe on my next visit, i will try to order their pastries as well. In the end, I love the idea of having a cafe that is affiliated to a church. It is also nice to have a small business cafe in a town where Starbucks is everywhere. Gather will definitely a top on my list on my next coffee run. read more

This giant coffee shop was almost totally empty when we walked in at 9:30 am. That should have been my first warning. The kid at the counter was utterly clueless. I had to order my breakfast sandwich on a blueberry bagel because "they were thawing the other bagels." So the bagels come in frozen. Good to know. The sandwich was lukewarm when it came out, but tasted fine. The coffee, for a coffee shop, was... adequate. I've had better coffee at gas stations. Yum! Don't venture out to Chesapeake often, but definitely will come by again just for this coffee shop. I came in and was immediately greeted, the young man taking our order was extremely kind and even gave us honest opinions on the milk options (texture and what not) and the baked goods. We went with an oat milk caramel macchiato, a Black and Tan, and a chocolate muffin. I definitely love caramel macchiatos and was looking for a non dairy milk option and the oat milk combo here slaps. It was so good and so creamy, the perfect combo. My husband got the Black and Tan and said it was really good! I didn't try it so I'll just have to take his word. The chocolate muffin was also good but it wasn't really anything spectacular. 10/10 for customer, 10/10 for the coffee, and a 9/10 for the chocolate muffin. Looking for another coffeeshop to go to? Gather is the place! Aesthetically pleasing interior. Very nice staff. A great place to gather for a meeting or to catch up with a friend. Has an updated rustic chic vibe than your regular starbucks. I got an iced caramel macchiato with almond milk and it was so good!! Initially it looked like they put in an extreme amount of caramel at first glance (as shown on my photo) but nope! Great taste. I also tried the turkey and bacon wrap and it was very good as well. My cousin got the lavender latte iced and she said it was better than the other lavender lattes she had at other cafes. Some places serve it with a subtle hint of lavender and some with an overwhelmingly strong taste, but she said this was just right. She also got the chicken salad sandwich, and well, it just tasted like a simple homemade chicken sandwich. The only downside was that I don't think they serve cold brews. Other than that, I'd definitely come here again. If only it weren't a 30 minute drive, i'd be a regular. read more
