I enjoy their breakfast sandwich , their service was a bit slow , they were extremely busy we waited 15 minutes before seated and about as much before waitress came to take order and answer questions. Met my friend here for breakfast. Drive pass here several times a week. When we pulled up there were so maaaannnnnnyy people waiting outside to get seated. I loved this restaurant! My mom and I went, her getting a pumpkin pancake and I getting a BLTE. Both were great! I also got the mint mocha, and I think it's the best I've ever had apart from Starbucks! the owner even came and helped his employees and speaking of them, all were great servers! the music was appropriate for all ages! it was also so well decorated! This location is very inconsistent with the quality of the food served. Today was a miss for us. Our 2yo child's meal had cold runny eggs (asked for scrambled) and mine were fried then cut up to look scrambled. The other entree was thrown together with over cooked dry bacon and almost burnt scrambled eggs. We were greeted right away and were able to get seated quickly as well as given a high chair (booster chairs available as well). The waitress was kind and attentive. Their fall menu was nice; my friend got the Barbacoa Eggs Benedict and loved it. Her fall drink was extremely sweet, almost too sweet to drink. Moved here over 2 months ago. I have tried this location 6 times and I was only able to get an order placed once. The one time I was able to order the food was poor at best. Stale breadstick on a salad that had wilted lettuce. Its really hard to mess up a salad but this place found a way. I have been to First Watch locations in Ohio and loved the food. This location in Suffolk VA is just bad. Dining room line is out the door when tables are open so I assume its staffing. I tried to order online today and got a notice they were not accepting orders at this time. I called and no one would answer the phone. Terrible location. I hope the corporate office knows how bad this location is. read more

My mother, two of my aunts, and I stopped in here this afternoon for lunch after one of my appointments. It was our first time ever stopping into the restaurant, and my mother was VERY skeptical after we sat down & she saw the menu. She said it was a 'millennial' restaurant. LOL We all talked her into staying & taking a 'culinary risk.' The staff was nice and the facility was clean and well taken care of. Iced coffee was decent but the purple drink they have (forgot the name) was so incredibly tasty and refreshing! Bacon was way undercooked some was almost raw. The bread was great. The floors appeared really dirty. That was a major turnoff and speaks volumes. Arrived and was told the wait time was going to be about 20-25 min (understandable since it was Labor Day and we did not make reservations). At about 25 minutes of waiting I went back to the hostess to get an update of waiting time. She looked at her device and said oh probably will be about 20 more minutes! I told her we had already been waiting longer than what we were told. She then said "oh you are next after them." So we ended up waiting about 35-40 min total. We get to our table and waited another 10 minutes for our waitress. She did bring us water out immediately without us asking for it. Unfortunately, the glasses were dirty and one of our glasses literally had pieces of stuff floating in it. We asked for coffee and it was brought and left on our table. However, no coffee cups were brought and it was at least over 5 more minutes before we saw our waitress again. At one point we thought she had just left as we did not see her until after our food came out and we were halfway done eating. Definitely do not recommend paying the price for premixed Bloody Mary. I am not a drinker and I can usually taste the alcohol in anything and when my friend said there was no alcohol in it I double checked for her. It was probably the lamest Bloody Mary I have ever seen with a great advertisement. The food came out quick and was hot as it should have been. The environment was also nice. It is like you are in a warehouse. There is no sound dampening in the overhead, so it is a constant noise. Bad First Experience only at this location I always use yelp but have never until today created an account. My experience today was so bad I felt it was necessary to put a review. I am a big fan of First Watch. I am a frequent customer at the Newport News location since it's close to my residence. Today my wife and our 2 year daughter went in for breakfast. We were seated by the manager with maybe 6 other tables with customers. We did as we usually do ordered our daughter her breakfast and an order of million dollar bacon first. We ordered water, coffee, apple juice and tea followed by our order shorty after. After being there about 20 mins we realized they started getting really busy. We are use to this because we go to the Newport News location and it a common thing. Our daughters breakfast and the bacon was received quickly within about 10-15 mins which was fast since at the time there weren't many customers in. We received the water, apple juice and coffee never the tea. After our order was taken we never spoke with the waitress again except the two times I flagged her down. After 30 mins of drinking coffee and water and our bacon I flagged down the waitress ask for the tea that had never arrived at the table. The waitress had tables adjacent to use that she was also servicing. After about 45 mins I flagged the waitress again and asked if there might had been a delay in our meals as tables surrounding us of customers whom had just arrived 15-20 mins prior too had already received their meals. I was told "sorry it's really busy right now". After we had been sitting at the table for over hour closer to an hour and 15 mins we decided to leave. I spoke with the manager about us leaving and she personally remembered seating us and even she was surprised to why we hadn't received our meals. If the meals were never placed to be made and it was a mistake that maybe the waitress had not or forgotten to place our order I could have understood and we most likely would have stayed and enjoyed our meals. Yet when I was asking about our meals and was told "it's busy right now" when we arrived prior to the rush just seemed as if we were being blown off. We literally sat there drinking coffee and water for over an hour without atleast a follow up of hey I checked on your order they are cooking it now or it should come out shortly. The whole service provided today was horrible and my experience of eating at this location (technically we didn't get to eat) was just awful. I always recommend first watch locations to friends and family. Even in July at the Newport News location I had family come in from out of state. I took them all to first watch in Newport News. They had nothing but things about the food and service. Just from this one experience I will not recommend or return to this location I will return to the Newport News location.
