Our go to place for Chinese food is Lin's Garden in Churchland. I enjoyed it once again during our Yelp Hangout last night. We usually pick the Family Special since my family tends to pick the same thing - their favorites. I usually add one more thing depending on my mood, and this time I had the Four Seasons. Once it came though, I couldn't decide, so I had it all! LOL It was all delicious!

Looked at the pics and I was hype because it looks like the typical American Chinese--but sadly I was mistaken. The rice was bright yellow and not the darker rice online. The general chicken was dry and looked nothing like the maroon looking chicken found online and also the rice lacked any type of flavor. You don't get free egg rolls with your order and the sweet and sour sauce for my chicken had so much sugar in it, it almost tasted like kool aid. I won't be retuning--better luck next time.

Orange, general tso, shrimp lo mein, beef garlic sauce, boneless ribs

My new place. Yes it is a hour drive and completely worth it. I was disappointed in the boneless ribs, they were cold and tuff to chew. More like jerky. Plain rice is also a no go. The egg rolls are really good, better then the spring rolls. I really liked the crab ragoon but my wife thought it was sweet. You get a lot if filling and they came nice and hot. The rest of the food was hot and delicious. We love the garlic sauce, nice and spicy. The orange and general tso actually have pieces of chicken rather then just breading. The shrimp in the lo mein were tender and perfectly cooked. It is easy making the 1 hour drive for this quality of food. If you like greasy, flavorful and hot Chinese food this should be your new spot.

I ordered takeout from here and was very happy with it, and I tend to be really picky when it comes to Chinese food. The crab rangoons light and delicious, not heavily fried like some places. You also get like 10 in an order which is awesome. I asked them to make the broccoli chicken extra spicy and unlike most places, they actually did. All the veggies seemed really fresh and the dish was flavorful. They do deliver, but not to Suffolk so make note that even though they are close by they don't deliver out that way.

This small Chinese restaurant is in the Churchland shopping center and the food is made fresh and fast. I've been here a few times in the past few months and I tend to get the same thing, shrimp and broccoli or chicken and broccoli. What I like most about this place is that the children of the people who work here are always there doing homework or helping out at the register. It's this one young girl who is extremely pleasant and greets me every time I come in and she takes the order and hands me my food when it's done. I look forward to seeing her in there because she is so nice. The food is always good. They have the option of ordering your food online, I haven't done that yet but one day I will give it a try. I love this place :)

Very polite staff and the girl who answers the phone speaks English very well; which is not always the case and can be quite frustrating. Soy sauce, duck sauce, and utensils were provided without having to specifically request them. My friend noted that the food was "much hotter than Chinese food normally is temperature wise", I assume this has to do with them cooking everything fresh when it is ordered which was surprising as it was ready less than ten minutes after I placed the order. Excellent General Tso's chicken, best I've had in years. The sauce is the more red than the dark sauce than you find at most places, more similar to sweet and sour than sesame, which is by far my favorite way General Tso's chicken is prepared. Portions in the combination dinners are generous and the pork fried rice is very tasty. Definitely found my new favorite Chinese place.

    Delicious.

Best Chinese in the area. Egg rolls are the best too. Customer service is the only thing better than the food.

This local favorite has maintained a loyal following since opening its doors in 1987, and after one visit it's easy to understand why. Having grown up in Norfolk, I still make the trip over from Chesapeake from time to time because some places are simply worth returning to. Our favorite bartender Lauren is always friendly, attentive, and helpful with menu suggestions if you're undecided. She also happens to make a fantastic drink, which certainly never hurts. My wife ordered the Sesame Shrimp Salad consisting of fried butterflied shrimp, organic mixed greens, fresh vegetables, mandarin oranges, crispy wontons, and their house Red Dragon dressing. The presentation alone was impressive, but the flavor balance is what truly stood out. In fact, she enjoyed it so much that I never even managed to get a taste myself, which is saying something. I decided on the Shrimp Platter and the portion size alone was enough to get my attention. The shrimp were fried to a perfect golden brown, served piping hot, and properly seasoned throughout. The crinkle-cut fries delivered that ideal contrast of crispy exterior and soft potato center, while the coleslaw brought a refreshing balance of sweetness and acidity that tied the entire plate together beautifully. No Frill continues to prove that you do not need unnecessary gimmicks when the food, service, and consistency speak for themselves. If you enjoy well-prepared comfort food served by people who genuinely care about the experience, this Norfolk institution remains well worth the visit.

This was my first time trying it out, and it really hit the spot. For those who don't eat pork and are tired of the usual turkey bacon or sausage alternatives, the beef bacon here is a welcome change. The cinnamon French toast was freaking amazing. It had the perfect balance of sweetness and cinnamon, with a soft center and a slightly crisp edge. The fresh strawberries on top made it even better. The beef bacon was cooked to perfection, flavorful and satisfying without being overly greasy. The cheese eggs were also on point: fluffy, creamy, and seasoned so well that I didn't even need to add salt or pepper, which I usually do. Portion sizes are very generous, so you definitely get your money's worth. The service was great too. Everyone was friendly, and I didn't have to wait long at all for my food. Just keep in mind that seating is extremely limited. It's more of a takeout spot than a dine-in restaurant.
