When I don't wanna drive all the way to Ghent for Yummy Wok, I drive here for my general tso's tofu or orange tofu. This time I got fried rice instead of white rice with my dinner, and it was so good!! The only reason I gave a four star instead of five, is because my egg rolls seemed like they had been sitting around and refried. This is a pretty typical Chinese take out restaurant, not really any place to eat inside, but it's my favorite place near me. One of the first things you notice is the friendliness of the lady taking your order. She is just so pleasant. The dinner combos, which include the best pork fried rice and an egg roll, are right around $10 and enough for two. I have only tried the General Tso's chicken, and it's decent, but I really like their pork fried rice that has plenty of roast pork, onions, and, uniquely, bean sprouts. So good! I ordered general Tso's chicken and fried shrimp rice. Very simple order. They gave me the Tso chicken with no chicken, all fried dough with no chicken inside. To hide what they did they gave me heavy seasoning so I might not notice. The shrimp fried rice tasted ok but the shrimp were the smallest shrimp I ever seen. I am torn between 4 stars and 3 stars for this restaurant. My very first time I visited here maybe eight months ago, I ordered the house pancit (Chow Mei Fun) and it was out of this world!!!! So of course, since it was so delish my first time, I returned months later and ordered the same thing, but this time it was blah. Even still I thought to myself...I'll give them another chance. I visited on Monday afternoon - ordered the pancit and drum roll please....it was just ok. The main reason why I didn't care for it is because the noodles were overcooked. As a result, the noodles were mushy and not good at all. Although the pancit had good flavoring, I was so disappointed. But luckily on this visit I order the broccoli with garlic sauce. I hoped my back up will save the day! Now this was pretty good. I wish I would have told them to put the garlic sauce with the broccoli because they packaged it separately. While this wasn't too bad, seemingly, any other time I would have asked for my food to be packaged separately so I can monitor the calories. So no biggie here. But this wasn't what made this dish blah, the rice (yellow) that came with the meal was under cooked. Aye yi yi!! I asked for the broccoli well done - the broccoli was on point!! So yeah my broccoli and garlic sauce if I had to rate that alone 5 stars hands down!! While it's not the worst Chinese I have ever ordered but it by far isn't the best. I would like to think I will not return, but whose to say I may gamble a fourth time on a much busier day/night. When I visited they didn't have many orders, so perhaps when they are in busy mode the food will be top notch. Ok we came by to try this place one more time. I wish we had a good Chinese near home, but this isn't it. The crab rangoons were just as good as other places nearby. The dumplings were some frozen product--mushy and seemed like it was deep friend, not pan fried. Egg roll was typical but tasty. Sweet and sour chicken was fine but rice wasn't the best. less than stellar. The only reason that I didn't give 1 star was the hot & sour soup which was one of the best I've ever had! Other than that, everything was on the verge of gross. The crab rangoons tasted very fishy, stale and we are a bit worried that we may get sick lol. The fried rice was bland and a weird yellow color. Not necessarily bad, but definitely eh. Realized how grateful I am for Peking House... Tried somewhere new tonight. It was horrendous. (Unless you like 4 lbs if baby corn in place of chicken.) If you want sweet n sour anything and egg rolls, go to any Chinese restaurant and buy whatever you like. But if you want heat (Kung Po or Szechwan), fresh veg, and affordable...get the family meal for 25$. 4 choices. Fed a family of 6 (with two teenage boys) I will still keep looking...because the fried rice was weak. And I really want a tad more spice and better slice on the veg. I couldn't finish my food it was so bad. I ordered general tso's combo and house lo mein... The tso's sauce was like a clumpy gelatin with very little flavor, bland rice, and mediocre chicken pieces. The egg roll was almost burnt. The lo mein was inedible. There was a very fishy (not in a good way) aroma & taste that I couldn't get past. Out of the Chinese restaurants we have tried in the area, this is the best one. We ordered several dishes, appetizers, and soups to try. We liked them all. I found one of the dishes, Hunan chicken was a little bland. My husband got the egg drop soup, and said it was bland as well. But all in all, this is one of the better ones in the area. Rude phone service. I have called many times to have pick up and paid over the phone. I have a card and was having a coworker pick up my food and they refused to take my card over the phone. He said they swipe only and as a business I know if you can swipe you can manually put it in. They are just being cheap and it costs a . of a percent more to do that. I do that every single day too! I will no longer patronize this location owners son argued with me over $2. IMy order every week is General Tso ..It's usually the combo at $8 I have never had to say combo it was just automactic today the son charge a large at $10 which did not include the egg roll or beverage. I called and shared my concern asking for my egg roll and beverage next time. The owners son advised he would only replace the egg roll, he also shared he could not read my mind so I should have said combo. Wow my friend you just lost a customer because of your lack of customer service. You should definitely take lessons from your mother. read more

I would definitely say this is the best place ever! I've been going there for over 6 years many many times ! I only wish they delivered. However, I would get in my car any day to go get it verses ordering takeout delivery from any other Chinese restaurant around here.( which I made a huge mistake tonight because they were closed and the other restaurant experience was a disaster) Maybe it is what we order on a usual basis. I've noticed some bad reviews and I'm not sure as to why? Maybe they have not tried the other restaurants around here to figure out that this one is the best. There are some small things that I would like for them to change. Like maybe putting more condiments in the bag. And the fortune cookies to be fresher. They are very busy store so when they do answer the phone it can get a little complicated. However, they always get the order right. I noticed a review on the credit card issue. They actually do that so that there is no chance or little chance of credit card fraud. Yes that is a little bit of an inconvenience sometimes but understandable. The vegetable fried rice was mushy. The only vegetables were onions and peas. It was tasteless. The General Tso's was just a wad of chicken and broccoli. It was terrible, and we couldn't eat it. We ended up throwing the food away. What a waste of money! We won't be going back. read more
