Still ordering from this place after 4-5years! Definitely my family's go to Chinese Takeout restaurant. We usually order the lunch specials but occasionally we will get the dinner portions. I do like that the dinner specials come with the fried rice AND an egg roll. It's a good size, nice and crispy! They have typically Chinese food condiments (soy sauce packets, duck sauce, chopsticks) on a table to the side of the front pickup area and a few chairs for you to sit in if you have to wait. My family's favorite dishes are the sesame chicken and chicken with spicy garlic sauce. You also can't go wrong with wonton soup. The food is always packaged nicely and filled to the top!

Finally found out GO TO chinese spot! After living in Chesapeake for almost 3 yrs lol. Everything was still hot when delivered. The portion sizes were large. Meat was cooked well & great sizes. Good size chicken wings with full of flavor. Absolutely loved my sesame chicken. Fried rice was little plain for my liking but with the sauce from the chicken it was perfect. The steamed dumplings had lots of meat wish they came with a dipping sauce but we made our own at home. First time having wonton egg drop soup & it did not disappoint. Overall everything was a 10! Will definitely be sticking to this Chinese spot.

Open until 0900pm every day of the week!

Great take out lunch specials that include the weekends. Not every Chinese offers that. Speedy service, traditional dishes with good flavors. Definitely recommend them.

When no mushrooms is requested because of an allergy why do you put mushrooms in? No one was available to help when I called.

Clean restaurant, personable staff, quick service, tasty food, and a fair price. What more would you expect in a traditional American -Chinese restaurant...or any restaurant for that matter? Ahhh, but here's a differentiator for you: Every fast food Chinese place I've been to has told me that my food would be ready in "15 minutes." When the lady told me during my last visit that it would take "10 minutes." I thought, "Okay, game on. Let's see what ya got." Start the timer. It was ready in 9 minutes and 15 seconds. Alright, Golden Dragon. I see what you did there.

Stopped here on the way from OBX to MD. Tried the house fried rice after reading a previous review. It was okay but kinda bland. The shrimp were very small and over cooked. I added soy sauce and hot sauce and it was a little better. I also tried the fried chicken wings. They were bland as well. I definitely have had better and tastier Chinese. Fortunately, I won't be stopping here again. The lady behind the counter was nice and courteous.

Always hot and fresh. Love the general tsos combination platter. A bit pricey but rarely am I ever not full so I'd say worth it

Food and Service is good. Not Hometown, East China Inn, good but good for Virginia. It would be five stars but it doesn't beat home.

I judge Chinese food by how well the shrimp fried rice is prepared. The shrimp are to small, no bean sprouts and the rice taste very bland.

OK, but not as flavorful as other local fast Chinese places. By the way, have you notices that they all use the same menu?

I have been to the VB location a few years ago and didn't like anything I had ordered. I was hoping this time would be different. The salt and pepper shrimp and such was delicious. As was the cucumber salad and everything. But the actual noodles itself? Overpowering with star anise and Szechuan peppers-- so much so I tasted nothing else and breathing foul odors for the next few days I swear. The potato noodles were hard to chew and easily could become a choking hazard. The service was fast and friendly despite the busy dinner hours. The restaurant had plenty of seats inside and the orders became available fast. Very little to no wait without feeling rushed. Like my dining companion said, everything but the noodles are good here. I should have heeded the warning. Parking is free and most major cards accepted. Unless a friend insists on going, this is not a must visit spot for me. I certainly wouldn't recommend it to friends and family but hey. To each their own.

Absolutely unacceptable! I have photographs of the filter, the food, and my receipt. The filter was found in the meal, and I am not interested in speculation about whether this could have happened--it did happen, and I have evidence documenting it. What has been equally concerning is the response I received when I reported the incident. Rather than acknowledging my concern, I was told that it "could not have happened." I was told that the business has operated for 15 years and that something like this does not happen. While I appreciate the reputation the establishment has built over the years, I found that response disappointing and dismissive. A history of good service does not change the fact that I found a used cigarette filter in my food. I have actually been a customer of the business for years, which is one reason this experience is so upsetting. I expected my concern to be taken seriously and investigated rather than immediately dismissed based on the assumption that it could not have occurred. My goal is not to argue about whether the incident occurred--it did. As a customer (now former), I believed my concerns deserved a thoughtful and professional response.

Came here with a friend of mine who absolutely loves hot pot. I had actually never had it before,…read moreso I had zero idea what I was in for. But honestly, it turned out to be such a fun and tasty experience! For anyone who hasn't tried it: hot pot is basically a big simmering pot of soup right at your table where you cook all your own food. You pick all your ingredients from soup, veggies, meats, noodles, mushrooms, whatever you want and drop them into the hot broth to cook. It's super customizable and kind of like a mix between soup and DIY cooking right at the table, which is actually a blast once you get the hang of it. We both went with a hot, spicy soup base which was perfect for warming up on a cold day. I threw in broccoli, mushrooms, ribeye, and noodles. The best part is watching everything cook right in front of you and then pulling it out when it's just right. The broth soaks up all those flavors and gets even richer as you go. The flavors were amazing! Really bold and satisfying. The spicy broth was exactly what I needed, and everything we added came out perfectly cooked and delicious. It was warm and cozy, which made the whole thing even better since it felt like the ultimate cold weather meal. I look forward to retuning and trying something completely different!

I called earlier in the day to see if we should make reservations, but was told they wouldn't be busy. Well, we got there and while they had plenty of tables at 6:30PM, but 7PM that place was completely packed! They had lots of carry-out orders happening too, which all made the kitchen a little slow. We ordered many dishes to share and all started coming out one after another over the next hour until the beef & broccoli was the last dish. Again, I attribute the slowness of the kitchen to their being so busy. At least all the food that came out was very fresh, tasty, and piping hot. Some interesting items that were quite good were their potatoes and green peppers. This dish is something I've never seen before but was pretty good! It features long julienned potatoes that they clearly soak in water before wok'ing with the peppers - that was all that was in the dish, but it was still tasty. Their Fish in Chili Oil & Bean Sprouts was really tasty and fresh! The fish is flounder. Their spicy wontons in chili oil were very popular with our group too. Service here was friendly too and helpful. Like I said, we tried many items, so many more than I just outlined and all were nice. I'd definitely return for a slightly more elevated Chinese menu from what you get at the typical Chinese-American joints.
