This was my first time here and I ordered takeout. Beef with mixed vegetables and white rice. They were very prompt and had my order together in less than 10 minutes. They eagerly accommodated my request for no mushrooms. Their location was easy to get to, and my food tasted delicious! The beef was not fatty like I have sometimes experienced at Asian places. They were priced pretty reasonably too. (Be sure to grab condiments and ask for chopsticks though- my order was bagged and didn't have anything but food in it.) I will definitely be back! As good as it was when I wrote my 1st review 7 years ago! This is our go-to when we're in the mood for Chinese. I love how they first remodeled for Covid - installing plexiglass and using a small fridge with the back removed to transfer orders to the guests. Brilliant! They still have, in my opinion, the safest set up for any restaurant that is dedicated to doing mostly takeout. The portions are huge! Whenever we get a pint entree, we inevitably pour it onto a plate and wonder how on earth they fit it all in. I still regularly get steamed chicken or shrimp with their scrumptious garlic sauce. Hubby loves the general tso chicken, sesame chicken, orange chicken (sense a theme yet?) or beef and broccoli (threw ya a curve ball there). It's never more than 15 minutes wait, regardless of how many people seem to be waiting for orders. They need to change absolutely nothing to keep me returning! read more

I don't know if it changed recently or how long ago the ownership has changed, but the food has definitely changed. The quality is not the same. I moved from Chesapeake to Virginia Beach some years back so I didn't get there as often as I would when I lived in Chesapeake. However, I would take trips just to go get the egg foo young because they had the best around I've given this new ownership I guess three chances but it does not taste the same as it was when the previous owners were there. Each time I've been there I'm looking for the old owners so that I could say hi. We even remember when they had their last child and when our 1st daughter was born the wife used to always ask, was she part Chinese or did she have a Chinese mix in her. She even gave my daughter a dress from China because she thought she was part Chinese. Our daughter is now going on 16yrs old, so that is how long we've been eating there. It was so disappointing getting one of my usuals,fried chicken wings and rice with the egg foo young gravy and it tasted horrible to say the least. So I will not be patronizing them anymore unless the old ownership comes back. Please let me know if any other old-time customers have noticed a change. The quality is just not the same. read more

First time ordering from here. With all the positive reviews I was pretty hopeful. We ordered the sweet-and-sour chicken which wasn't too bad.. a lot of really tiny pieces but the taste was OK. The eggrolls tasted a little off. Tried the teriyaki chicken. Not all of it was cooked through. We got the Pu pu platter. I loved the shrimp that came with it. Was so good! It was my first time trying shrimp toast... I was so excited!! Unfortunately, as you can see by the pictures I could not eat it because it was completely raw!! So I had to toss that and the teriyaki chicken. My husband really loved the ribs that came with the platter. The bourbon chicken was OK. I think it looks better than it tasted. The chicken was really dry it wasn't moist. My husband said the fried rice was good. Overall, I wasn't super pleased but willing to give it one more try. Maybe they were just having a off day. For fast food Chinese, this place gets 4 big stars. I stopped by to paint pottery across the lot, and the line at the brunch place was too long. This place had just opened for the day and I found a great table to eat at and watch TV. They have a nice, big fish tank, if you want to watch that instead. I found the food quality was excellent and it arrived fast. Nothing was oily or greasy. The restaurant was mostly clean, the soda fountain had a syrup drip of snot coming off the Dr. Pepper though. Have been here many times...10 or so times. Overall the food is very good. Always get the chicken fried rice, general Tsao chicken and they have been consistently good. My favorite is the special house low mein. They add a generous amount of shrimp, beef, etc to this dish. They pack all their serving containers full to the brim...great value. Appetizer spring rolls are always great. Call ahead as waiting in line to order can take a very long time. They will always answer the phone to the detriment of the customers actually waiting in the store. Ordered online through the Yelp app and my order was ready as soon as I arrived. It stated that it would be ready in 30 minutes but it was ready in 10. Fried rice was good and chicken wings were good. The shrimp toast was terrible (see pic). They gave me deep fried squares of white bread. HEAVY OIL and no shrimp or anything that resembled shrimp toast that I've had in the 15 Years+ of eating it. The obviously didn't have any so decided to pull the wool over my eyes with fried squares of bread and charged me anyways. I didn't notice until I got home. They are definitely doing their best to stay COVID safe with their glass setup which I was very impressed with when I entered to pickup my order. I was craving spare ribs tips but the bourbon chicken looked like it and it tasted it just like it since they must use the same seasoning. I wanted to get some food on Easter Sunday and since most places were closed I figured I'd go ahead and get me some Chinese food. China 1 is right down the road from me so I went ahead and went over to get some takeout. The place is really unusually clean for a Chinese place (see my pictures) so that's a definite plus. The girl waiting on me was semi-friendly but not anything special. I got a couple of egg rolls, some Pork Lo Mein w fried rice on the side and an order of Hot and Sour soup. The Lo Mein was pretty good, nothing great, nothing bad either. The rice was pretty typical as well. The Hot and Sour soup was a nice change of pace, it was more hot than any other hot and sour soup I've ever tasted. The picture I posted makes it look hot, well because it is. If you don't like hot food then skip this soup. The egg rolls were pretty good but a bit overcooked I think. All in all this place is pretty decent. If you're looking for a nice place to eat-in for lunch this would be a pretty good place to go as the inside is pretty nice and they have a fish tank to boot. read more

Unforetunately, I had the bad fortune of being sick directly after eating this food. While I am not necessarily letting that contribute to the review, that experience will color it. My wife and I ordered the three dishes: moo shu pork, Szechuan chicken and fried scallops. I have never ordered the scallops anywhere before and probably won't ever order them again. Chewy, cold in the center, but a nice sweet taste. The pancakes for the moo shu were more like paper napkins than rice paper roles. The one good piece was the Szechuan chicken, the vegetables were fairly fresh and there was a good variety. I would say that perhaps their food is hit or miss. If you are in a hurry, they are very speedy for a neighborhood Chinese takeout. Happy eating! read more

Used to be the best Chinese food around...went out of my way to take out. Tonight, the house fried rice tasted way off. The fried pork dumplings were like meatballs that kept falling out of the dumpling, and there was a big piece of paper inside my egg roll. I won't go back, even though it's been my go-to place for years. Did they sell? Get a new supplier? Start using pre-made food?
