    this is "less sauce" .......
    Alexis C.

Used to be our personal favorite Chinese Takeout spot nearby but I feel as if the quality of it went down. Maybe it's because at the time they were moving locations but I'll definitely have to give it another shot since they officially settled right across the post office now. Again, really picky with Chinese takeout and they gave the 'ok' to a special request, which was less sauce and extra crispy, and we got double the sauce and majority was of the squishy breading pieces. It wasn't too bad but the sauce can be a bit too much and too heavy, so we couldn't finish the meal and ended up tossing it. It's just General Tso's chicken so I mean it's decent no matter how it's prepared. Service is always nice. You're greeted with a smile, order is taken promptly, and they make it fairly quick. I have yet to go to the new location but driving by, the inside looks brighter and a lot cleaner!

    Chicken Chow Mein /

We ordered 3 things. Chicken chow mein, orange chicken and egg rolls. The photo is our chicken chow mein, there were zero noodles just rice. Orange chicken was ok but the quality of the chicken was not good and didn't taste great. Neither did the rice. Egg rolls were fine but nothing to make up for the lack of noodles and quality of the chicken.

    Crab Rangoon

My usual Chinese spot is on vacation so I decided to go to Jacky Chen. I remember them being amazing at their old location. Once they moved I tried them and it was bad. I decided to give them another chance today. The fried rice and egg rolls that come with the combo orders had large pieces of pork fat. My order was almost $80 for my family. I ordered 3 orders of Crab Rangoon. These things were hard as a rock, it was hard to but it. It's like they fried them the day before or in the morning and was just refrying them for people's orders. There was less than a table spoon of filling and got many that were not filled. Manager says their oil must be old. I don't believe that.He said next time I come in I'll get a free Rangoon. I live more than 20 minutes away after having a horrible meal I was not driving back out. I'm never come back here. All of all the Chinese places I've been to in my life and places I've lived this was the worse one I've ever been to.

I love their food but not enough to risk my life picking it up. They moved to a bad area In Portsmouth.

I was impressed with how they handled the orders. I really liked their egg drop soup and vegetable egg rolls. I plan to return.

They also checked in on us for water refills and if there was anything that we needed. Workers were so sweet to my daughter too shes a year and half and they all smiled and waved at her, very child friendly w high chairs, or booster seats. Food: omg it's delicious it really is, I have no words, I was craving some good noodles and got the pad Thai with shrimp uuugh I melted on that first bite, beyond my expectations. The food also came out quick and we all got served nearly at the same time and we were a party of 4. Beverages: their bobas are delicious and in generous amount also so completely worth it. Cost: cost was reasonable more on the friendly budget side and the quality of food is great so this spot is thr spot to check out Ambiance: was beautiful its very clean inside, and the decor just fits the place it's really beautiful you got to check it yourself.

I stopped in on a particularly warm day and watched her offer cold water to the postal worker and other customers waiting for to go orders. I love seeing people go out of of their way to offer a little kindness to others. Now on to the food. I started with the moo ping which are traditional Thai pork skewers served with sticky rice and a sweet chili sauce. The flavor on the pork was amazing and the meat was so tender. The sweet chili sauce is not like any I've ever had before. I mean it really packs a punch in the best way possible. For my entree I had the Rama chicken, which is essentially chicken in peanut sauce. It's one of my favorite Thai dishes and one that I can never find in other Thai restaurants in the Hampton Roads area. Man, I could drink that peanut sauce. It was sweet, creamy, and had the perfect touch of spice. I had a wonderful experience here and can't wait to return! Also, whoever is in charge of the playlist knows their 90s R&B! Easiest 5 stars ever!

I stopped by to check out the menu and explore my options, there were plenty of options that looked great and I just didn't feel comfortable about making a decision off impulse, you can say I was pretty undecided about what to get so I decided to come back another day, hopefully I'll won't be so indecisive about my choices when I return!.

However, this is not the case with Lin's. I ordered the Chicken Fried Rice and my fiance' ordered another chicken dish on last Thursday. We were both disappointed. The "fried rice" was not like ANY fried rice I have ever had. It seemed like Uncle Ben's rice except it was yellow. There was no flavor and definitely it was not fried. The chicken tasted like what you would think broiled chicken would taste like. I even asked for "additional" vegetables which involved a surcharge. It seemed that maybe I received some extra broccoli. However, the other veggies were few. There was only a couple peas and a few carrots and mushrooms. I can pass on a compliment for the broccoli, as it was good. Spring rolls are small and cost more than they should. We do not recommend this restaurant. We may give it some time for improvement and try again at a later date but will not be returning any time soon,
