The food used to be authentic and delicious. Now the rice is steamed yellow rice without culture or flavor. The service was fast. I had the pepper steak. It had 4 pieces of steak in a million onions. They had tables for eat in , but you have to eat out of the carry out tray. This used to be the ideal place to eat, now I can't recommend it. However, if you're desperate get it. Got the wrong order, and the staff lied to me and told me my order was on its way, I waited another hour just to find out they were cooking another order. I got a refund. The next driver unfortunately showed up and I had to turn him away because the manager could not reach him. I realize they are out sourcing drivers through DoorDash or UberEats, while this is a good idea in theory it is NOT fail proof, as we can see. The first driver did not have the proper receipts to check order numbers. The second driver needed an interpreter on his phone and even she said this causes problems because the out sourced drivers are not checking the order numbers. I've been going here 4+ years and I've never had an big issue with restaurant until recently. I ordered egg foo young and there was no gravy when it arrived. I called to see if I could get someone to pick it up but they said the manager has to call me back. I was sick so I wasn't going to eat the food that day so I was fine with it. 24 hours later I called again hoping I can just come show evidence that I ordered the food and finally get my gravy. Nope. They took my number again and telling me the manger will call me. At this point I was getting upset when I already waited a day, I didn't want money just my gravy. Long story short after another 24 I never received a call or my gravy. They are lucky I am still sick as I would have gone up there for a chat. I don't want to open old wounds but the restaurant hasn't been the same since the owner passed away. RIP read more

A few weeks ago, after a very long, hard labor and delivery at the hospital nearby, I asked my husband to *please* get me some Singapore noodles and egg drop soup. Nothing else sounded good. We misunderstood the google listing so he got here right as they were closing. They still filled the order, and it was DELICIOUS. Since I've moved here in Suffolk three and a half years ago, I have been a frequent customer at China Moon (CM), although not as frequent lately. CM is located in the Suffolk Plaza Shopping Center on North Main Street--right next to the Goodwill. I have never dined-in before, so my experience is based on picking-up my food and taking it home. The interior is okay--nothing fancy. I only go in to pick up my food at the counter, but the service has always been good. CM does deliver; they charge a $1.50 delivery fee, but their area is only 3 miles. If you're planning to use a credit card, make sure you tell them on the phone. Americanized Chinese food is what it is, right? CM's dishes are quite tasty compared to many others that I've tried. The food is fresh, the breading is crispy not soggy, and the rice and lo mein is not overcooked. We tend to always order the same things so I can't tell you too much about the menu. I would suggest one of the Combination meals, which is a good value. The prices range from $6.35-$7.65 and you get a main dish, pork fried rice, and an egg roll. Also, they don't give you fortune cookies, but maybe if you ask they will. If you're craving Chinese food, I recommend CM. We're not talking haute cuisine, but CM would hit the spot. For those who have issues with MSG, their menu does not say anything about it, so I would suspect they do use it in their food. read more

Well this USE to be my go to for really good Chinese. The other day I took wife there craving good food well they POPPED MY BUBBLE. wife had the beef rib tips she ate three or four and was finished. The fried rice was not so good but acceptable. Egg rolls good. Now mine ; I ordered egg foo young. When it came out I was shocked. The woman at the front is complete and utterly incompetent. She is a liar and after I ordered and called back she told me I ordered wrong when I never did. She told me she asked if I was sure, when that was again untrue. She wanted me to come up to the store after I got my food delivered because of weather. I will try to give a break down of the points that I think are most important. I used to live around here and this was my go to Chinese restaurant when I was craving some Chinese food. I only order fried rice and their fried rice is theee bomb. When I come visit I'll order from here when I want some fried rice. I ordered what I usually order which is fried rice and the guy was a nice guy but I heard him blow his nose (it sounded wet too) and he didn't wash his hands before trying to accept my payment. Before handing him my card to pay I asked him to wash his hands first, which he kindly complied with my request. Flavor of food: Everything else is decent nothing fancy but the dish that outshines all the other dishes in my opinion is the shrimp fried rice. I get it extra spicy and not too many Chinese restaurants can get it right. It is actually spicy which I want. No weak peppers here. I used to buy the sausage shrimp fried rice but not anymore because recently, instead of sausage they put cut up HOTDOGS in the sausage fried rice like people don't know what hotdogs look and taste like. That is very disappointing so I will never buy their "great value" sausage fried rice ever again. Price: Very reasonable. The shrimp to rice ratio is good for the price. Location: Great, ample parking. What sets this place apart from other Chinese restaurants: In many ways this is like many other restaurants. But the difference is the spicy shrimp fried rice being delicious. And unlike other places the inside is very spacious with around 8-10 booths. This is my go-to for Chinese. While not everything I have ever tried here was to my liking, the majority of of them are. My experiences; the good, and the not-so-good: -Vegetable Rolls: these are far tastier than the Egg Rolls, and the owner always remembers that I like extra Duck Sauce. They arrive crispy and hot at my doorstep -Egg Rolls: these could be better; I don't particularly like that they're shrimp and not pork -Fried Dumplings: these are very good as well, though are a smidge overcooked on occasion (but still yummy) -Pork spare ribs: just yummy -Egg Drop Soup: this has been a favorite of mine since I was little, and CM's is freakin' awesome! I'm not a fan of runny Egg Drop and CM's is thick with plenty of flavor -Won-ton Soup: the broth lacks flavor, but the Won-tons are tasty and huge -Fried Rice: in all honesty, I didn't always like their fried rice; it used to show up tasting a bit like scorched oil. However, lately it's been amazing. I like the Pork and the Vegetable, I and ask for extra onions -Chicken Lo-Mein: it's good, and re-heats well. I do occasionally ask for extra veggies. -Chicken Pancit: occasionally this could use more flavor, but in general it's pretty good and re-heats well. I ask for more veggies in this sometimes too -Sweet and Sour Chicken: this is one of my favorites, and it tastes great when hot, room temp, or just outta the fridge -Mongolian Beef: the one dish I have tried that I didn't like at all. Not spicy enough, lack of flavor, and the beef seemed like it was boiled. Because of the beef, I haven't ventured trying another Beef dish. -General Tso's Chicken: bangin'; ask for it extra spicy though. Also great when hot, room temp, or just outta the fridge -Sesame Chicken: also bangin' and great when hot, room temp, or just outta the fridge There's lots I haven't tried over the past 5 years or so, but I admittedly am incredibly food picky. This place is hard for me to rate. It is the best take out Chinese food I've found in out part of Suffolk. Unfortunately that isn't saying much. I grew up eating Chinese food at a family owned restaurant. The family was from Hong Kong. They took great pride in the food. That being said my standards are pretty high. I've gotten fairly quality food from here, and a couple of times food that was worse than military chow hall food. My wife even complained about the General Tao's chicken last time, and I've never heard her complain about that from anywhere. It was very hard, dry, and chewy. Like it was over cooked and then sat for a long time before being sauced. My Kung pow chicken was OK. The last time two of the egg rolls where clearly burned.
