I would have given it three stars - but when I asked for chopsticks at the end she said "we don't carry them." WHATTTT!? Might as well just close up shop at that point the food was just okay - the general tsao's chicken was in the bottom 1/3 of the many Chinese establishments similar to this that I have been to, felt like it even had a fishy taste to it. Strange lol. The shrimp Lo mein was significantly better though it wouldn't entice me me to go back by any means. The tea was fine. Not great, not terrible. Crab rangoons just very average as well. The restaurant itself was a little more beat up than similar establishments and it smelled like they might've burned something (not sure if that was just a today thing but probably won't go back to find out lol) Overall would not recommend, their prices online are also outdated and more money once you get there (though in this day and age, that was expected) read more

Overall, this place was just ok. The lady on the phone was nice and the delivery guy was nice too. I was really just craving egg drop soup so I was pretty disappointed when I tasted it and it was bland, not much flavor there. But I was really surprised with the chicken on a stick. It wasn't dry and it was full of flavor. The dumplings were just nasty. I will not order those again. The Lo Mein was really good, not dry and I was full of chicken and veggies. read more

Now ya'll know that I love me some Chinese take-out (as you can see from my profile) and China King takes the cake in terms of portions, pricing, and the flavoring of their food. I also love that this place is conviently located down the street from where I live. Their service is also pretty quick. The food is always ready in less than 10 minutes, I never have too long of a wait here. All in all, if you're ever in the Bayview Plaza / Chesapeake Blvd area close to 5 points and want Chinese Take-Out than this is your place. read more

Ordered $57 of Chinese food ask for some hot mustard packs. I was told that they would give me 4 and if I wanted 5 they were going to have to charge me .50 are you frigging kidding me? These These people must be out of their mind. I have four people eating. What???? We all get one pack??? Needless to say they lost out on the $57 order as well as any tip they may have received (generally 30%). I will never be a patron of this shady business. I advise anyone to order anywhere but here. I order here all the time the food is really good I enjoy their sesame chicken and chicken lo mein. I ordered the lunch special it comes with fried rice and a canned drink. When I ordered they didn't ask what drink so I called back cause I did not want auto-fill Pepsi asked for dr.pepper. I have been ordering from China King for years, but never really had the opportunity to go the this establishment. On day, I decided to get out of the office and make the trip to Chesapeake Blvd in Norfolk. I called in my order over the phone. They recognized the company number and asked for my extension. When I said I was coming to pick it up, she said "no we have somebody going there in 10 minutes". How you going to tell me I can't come pick up my food? I insisted that I pick it up. She laughed and said okay. I didn't know how to take that, and I knew when I got around to it, they were getting no more than 3 stars. So I arrive ready to deal with this chick's attitude. She said "Ohh, you are from (the company). We always deliver to you. Since you come here, here is free Crab Rangoon and Sweet Tea". Then she said something that floored me..."you didn't order it this time, so I give you for free!" I have never seen this lady in my life, and just off phone conversation about once a month, she knew my usual order and hooked me up! She got 3 stars added back! (yeah, that makes 6 stars...I know how to count...LOL). Maybe I should have mentioned I ordered General Tso chicken, which I absolutely love from this spot. It's hard to find a good restaurant that also delivers out here. Every time I've ordered food from here it was always hot and arrived before the time they gave us for arrival. The chicken fried rice is great (my picky 6 yo loves it). So overall they're pretty good in my personal opinion. read more

Clean, fast and great food. I have a deadly shellfish allergy and I have to be very careful. I have never gotten an issue from cross contamination even when my partner orders shrimp. If I could give more stars for that I would. read more

Yesterday July 15,2020 , I ordered the bar-be q rib combo, chicken wings from this place , I had the worst belly ache that I have ever had, I phone this afternoon to let them know that I was up all night long with a bad stomach ache, and they told me nobody else complained or experienced that yesterday, they did not even apologize.. I have been ordering from tis place for years , I do not know if the food was spoiled , the oil was old, or they have new cooks, never again will I order from this place again! China King is less than a mile from my house, and I'm so glad this place opened. When I don't have time to make dinner, I always stop in for Steamed Shrimp and Vegetables with curry sauce on the side. The portion is large enough for dinner and lunch the next day. Their food is delicious and the kids that work at the front counter there are friendly. read more

China King is my place for Chinese food for the past 6 years. Always quick service and the delivery astounds me, so fast. I always feel like I'm a special customer when ordering from here. Friendly on the phone and in person, reasonably priced food. I've never received any bad food in 6 years. We have ordered almost everything on the menu and our favorites are the steamed dumplings, crab rangoon, spring rolls, fried rice, general tso chicken, pancit chicken. We were looking for a tasty Chinese meal and this came up with the most stars in the area we were in. We ordered three meals and enjoyed them all. We weren't big fans of the egg rolls though. The place was really clean and the staff was friendly as well. read more

Called for delivery and the food was at my front door in no time. Also- the food was steaming hot! A variety of dishes and decently priced. I would recommend that combos be offered over the phone, but it's also my job to specify that if its for delivery. I would recommend the Mongolian or Kung Pao Chicken- both were spiced well with a variety of veggies all fresh. This food left us feeling as is we were about to become really acquainted to the porcelain throne (AKA toilet)! The egg rolls were the worst I'd ever eaten and the food was like old grease that was sitting in the same fryer for a year. Extremely disappointed in their service. The woman who answered the phone was rude and didn't even ask how I was paying (which was by card) so when the delivery driver got here I had to call the place back and sign the receipt he had on him and then accused me of stealing his pen when it was mine. Speedy delivery, and both our general tso's and chicken in garlic sauce were spicy as requested. Hot & sour soup had generous amounts of mushrooms and a nice balance of tang v. spice. It's our new go to for delivery in OV. read more
