I've ordered from here numerous times since COVID-19 took hold of this country - this is my parents' go-to Chinese takeout spot. They are fast and their food is good, which all you need when it comes to takeout places. Because of the pandemic, China 1 was closed for a few weeks but they reopened with some changes. Their front counter, once an open area, is encased with plexiglass - their credit card machine is set up where it sticks out of a slot. All you need to do, if you're paying by card, is slide it in the card reader. You don't have to touch it at all. If paying by cash there is a shared box which opens on two ends - one end for you to place your money and the opposite end is for the China 1 staff to grab your payment and then provide change and/or a receipt. There is second box for the food, which employs the same concept as the money box. Simple and easy. I've found calling ahead is the best option - over the phone they'll quote you, at most 15 minutes, for your order to be ready. JV

Chicken broccoli lunch with white sauce and white rice

Very tasty and fresh broccoli. Only about $7.50. Inside is clean. Food was ready so quickly. It just doesn't come with eggrolls or crab rangoons or any other sides.

This place used to be my go-to since it was so close to our home. Before I discovered Golden Wok, we'd always go here. Yesterday, I had to pick up some Chinese for a get-together I was headed to, and I wanted the convenience of picking it up nearby since I was running late. I thought - "hmm, shouldn't hurt to not get Golden Wok for once.." I ordered what I usually order for takeout - chicken wings, fried rice, and lo mein. They said my order would be ready in 10 min. I waited about 10 min before leaving my house after ordering, got there, and it wasn't ready yet. I waited for about 7 more min. No big deal. When my friends and I started eating, I noticed that the chicken wings were much smaller than usual. But that wasn't the issue. The problem was discovered when I started chewing my chicken. I bit on something hard and thought it was a piece of bone or something but turns it to be A STAPLE... like.. what ?! And to make matters even worse, a little after my discovery, my friend starts spitting something out while eating her fried rice - LITTLE PIECES OF WOOD (maybe chopsticks?) idk, just something that isn't edible!!! I was so upset and so embarrassed for bringing something to the table that probably upset all of our stomachs. Never ever coming back.

I must say this is a hole in the wall spot. New to the area. But I find this restaurant really reasonable affordable and quick. They are following the measures to keep every one safe. They got plex glass around the register a pick up window for phone orders. You pretty much don't touch anything. I love this spot and would definitely recommend this to others. They got deals and that's what matter and the quality of food is wonderful get a bang for your buck. They also use good quality containers to keep your food well sealed and hot

They've got fortune cookies for the new Kung fu panda movie as well!

I called earlier in the day to see if we should make reservations, but was told they wouldn't be busy. Well, we got there and while they had plenty of tables at 6:30PM, but 7PM that place was completely packed! They had lots of carry-out orders happening too, which all made the kitchen a little slow. We ordered many dishes to share and all started coming out one after another over the next hour until the beef & broccoli was the last dish. Again, I attribute the slowness of the kitchen to their being so busy. At least all the food that came out was very fresh, tasty, and piping hot. Some interesting items that were quite good were their potatoes and green peppers. This dish is something I've never seen before but was pretty good! It features long julienned potatoes that they clearly soak in water before wok'ing with the peppers - that was all that was in the dish, but it was still tasty. Their Fish in Chili Oil & Bean Sprouts was really tasty and fresh! The fish is flounder. Their spicy wontons in chili oil were very popular with our group too. Service here was friendly too and helpful. Like I said, we tried many items, so many more than I just outlined and all were nice. I'd definitely return for a slightly more elevated Chinese menu from what you get at the typical Chinese-American joints.

It is one of those things where one place might have great fried rice, one has great egg rolls, and another has great lo mein. Overall the food was good as I went with the General Tsos combo that comes with regular fried rice but for a small upcharge if you want to change the rice to pork or shrimp. To me it is still unusual as I thought ham fried rice was just a normal thing that comes with a dinner combo along with an egg roll. Not anymore. I ordered an eggroll (2 per order) to go with the meal along with a teriyaki stick. The teriyaki stick (you get 2 per order) was pretty good and not dried out to the point where it could pass for jerky. The chicken in the dinner was good and not overly breaded. It was supposedly spicy but trust me anyone could handle this spice. Good spot to quench your hankering for some American Chinese food. Parking can be a bit iffy with a few spaces in the front on the street shared with other restaurants but the same holds true for the spaces behind the building.
