Amazing flavor and big portions. The dumplings and sauce were delicious! Food came out super fast and we were able to get home to enjoy our dinner. read more

This place delivered! I honestly think it stays open the latest of any other spot. There was also I police presence in the parking lot which made me feel a little more secure due to the time of night it was. The food was great. It's either hit or miss when it comes to Chinese food. Judging from the diverse customers that came in to order at that time of night also let me know that I wasn't going to be disappointed. It doesn't look like much inside, and could stand some mopping and cleaning but that's typical for these kind of places. read more

I've ordered from here numerous times since COVID-19 took hold of this country - this is my parents' go-to Chinese takeout spot. They are fast and their food is good, which all you need when it comes to takeout places. Because of the pandemic, China 1 was closed for a few weeks but they reopened with some changes. Their front counter, once an open area, is encased with plexiglass - their credit card machine is set up where it sticks out of a slot. All you need to do, if you're paying by card, is slide it in the card reader. You don't have to touch it at all. If paying by cash there is a shared box which opens on two ends - one end for you to place your money and the opposite end is for the China 1 staff to grab your payment and then provide change and/or a receipt. There is second box for the food, which employs the same concept as the money box. Simple and easy. I've found calling ahead is the best option - over the phone they'll quote you, at most 15 minutes, for your order to be ready. JV read more

This place used to be my go-to since it was so close to our home. Before I discovered Golden Wok, we'd always go here. Yesterday, I had to pick up some Chinese for a get-together I was headed to, and I wanted the convenience of picking it up nearby since I was running late. I thought - "hmm, shouldn't hurt to not get Golden Wok for once.." I ordered what I usually order for takeout - chicken wings, fried rice, and lo mein. They said my order would be ready in 10 min. I waited about 10 min before leaving my house after ordering, got there, and it wasn't ready yet. I waited for about 7 more min. No big deal. When my friends and I started eating, I noticed that the chicken wings were much smaller than usual. But that wasn't the issue. The problem was discovered when I started chewing my chicken. I bit on something hard and thought it was a piece of bone or something but turns it to be A STAPLE... like.. what ?! And to make matters even worse, a little after my discovery, my friend starts spitting something out while eating her fried rice - LITTLE PIECES OF WOOD (maybe chopsticks?) idk, just something that isn't edible!!! I was so upset and so embarrassed for bringing something to the table that probably upset all of our stomachs. Never ever coming back. read more

I must say this is a hole in the wall spot. New to the area. But I find this restaurant really reasonable affordable and quick. They are following the measures to keep every one safe. They got plex glass around the register a pick up window for phone orders. You pretty much don't touch anything. I love this spot and would definitely recommend this to others. They got deals and that's what matter and the quality of food is wonderful get a bang for your buck. They also use good quality containers to keep your food well sealed and hot read more

This place is located right by the airport. One night after a rough day of traveling, I ordered from here because my friend told me it was one of her favorite spots. I ordered around 8:30. My luggage ended up taking about 1.5 hours. The restaurant called me and stated my food was ready. I called back panicked as I knew they'd close before I would make it. The gentleman told me not to worry, he was cleaning, and he'd give me my food when I got there. Sure enough, I arrived and he let me in and gave me my food. The food was excellent, the portions were huge and tasty, but most of all, the patience and customer service was amazing. Thank you to that man again, that food was exactly what I needed that night! read more

Just okay. Serve was fast & friendly. I ordered the chicken & broccoli combo. The chicken was tough & gristly. I ended up feeding the meat to my dog and just eating the broccoli & rice. I probably will not return as I was not very impressed. read more

There's been reviews that's up and down. Since I'm asian, and I know what real asian food is suppose to taste like, so far this has been my go to spot for Chinese takeout. I've been to the other Chinese take out and it all taste the same. I believe most of the Chinese restaurant ( China Max, #1 China) area in the Norfolk/Virginia Beach Area is a chain restaurant so their style of cooking is the same. Yes it is hidden in the plaza and it is small, but the food is gotta be the best in the area, compared to the real Chinese food in New York/ California area. The lunch specials is less than $7.00 as well. read more

As far as Chinese food goes in the Hampton Roads area it is FREAKING HARD to find a good one. With an over abundance of hole in the wall, take out Chinese restaurants that totally suck, its a miracle to find one that actually has yummy food. I love their crab Rangoon, it is better than any place I have yet to find. Their general tao's shrimp is delicious and the shrimp are HUGE!! My daughter loves their Vegetable Lo Mein and their Egg Drop Soup. Whenever I have called for a take out order its always done quickly and they have never screwed up my order at all. I have been a repeat customer for over 6 years!!! Give them a call for quick, delicious take out and know that they are definitely worth driving a little extra distance rather than settle for one of the crappy Chinese joints. read more

Let's be honest with each other. You can't go wrong with a Chinese restaurant that has a number in its name. As long as it's clean inside your guaranteed to be happy with what you get. Good staff, clean place, quick service. Point off for no utensils in the bag and menu in the bag either. But I know where it is and I'll be back. read more

We found this place while waiting for someone to arrive at the airport. My spouse gets beef&broccoli sand I get sesame chicken. Spouse gets 3 little pieces of beef, and my chicken tastes so old that I couldn't even chew it. We just ate the rice and there everything in the trash and left. I don't see how this plates rates 4 stars with food like this. Just terrible. read more

Wanted to get some good Korean food before my flight but all the Korean restaurants are closed from 3-5, so in a pinch I checked Yelp for restaurants this ranked pretty highly. Unfortunately I didn't experience what everyone else may have. For one, they have very limited seating so this is definitely more of a take out kind of place. The food was pretty bland, but the egg rolls were pretty good. They forgot my order of dumplings/pot stickers and in their rush to get it out burned over half of them.... and served them to me that way. Since this isn't a place I will ever come back to, I just threw them out. I should have went to Golden Corral. P.S.... They don't take American Express. read more

The shrimp egg foo young here is DELISH! I had never tried it prior to trying it here but a friend kept raving about it constantly so I gave in, she was right, it was perfection! I also tried the general tso's chicken, it didn't hold a candle to the flavorful shrimp egg foo young.... read more

This restaurant has been one of my family's go to chinese places since I was young. We are super close with the owners and they're nice and friendly. Their food is hands down one of the best Chinese food in Norfolk or in the 757 for that matter. The food is fairly priced like any Chinese take out place. Their General Tso's chicken is the bomb; it has the perfect balance of sweet and spicy. The chicken is always perfect and crispy on the outside. The broccoli is always fresh. They have pretty good lunch specials for $4-5. The inside is about the same size as any Chinese take out place. There are a few tables for dining in. Quite clean inside as well. There is a parking lot in front. 10/10 I'd highly recommend! read more

Food is ok. Wasn't too happy with the crab rangoons and the service wasn't very pleasant. Asked for chow mei fun and got pancit (I like the fried eggs in the mei fun) but I ate it anyway and it was still really good. Just went to this place and ordered $30 plus of food. The woman behind the counter ask me what sauce do I want. I tell her a lot of soy sauce and duck sauce. So far the best Chinese food around here. Yea it's not fancy, but looks are deceiving.

This is a simple, efficient Chinese place. A small family business that does a landslide take away, but has a few tables for dine in. My favorite dine in lunch special is the chicken with hot garlic sauce and fried rice. Excellent quality and quantity at a reasonable price. While not fancy, the place is always clean and fresh. Come here more than a couple of times, and the staff will very likely remember your order. They are friendly and helpful, especially to those not overly familiar with the many items on their menu. This is not a cloth napkin style restaurant. Your food will be on styrofoam plates with plastic utensils. So if you're into, hoy poloy go, elsewhere; if you want tasty, quick food; come here. read more

This spot is the most decent that I have found in the area...fried rice is alright. I usually order the Szechaun chicken, which is good but you can tell when cooks switch..sometimes the sauce is too thick or too greasy and not a decent amount of chicken...their eggrolls are good...chicken wings are alright...they have good chicken on stick (red teriyaki) and the General Tsao Chicken is good...enjoy egg drop soup read more

I love this place, food are great! I love their Chicken with broccoli n shrimp fried rice

Perfect Chinese food as us Americans have come to enjoy. Delivery was ON POINT. They said 40 minutes and delivered in 30. Not only was their over-the-phone ordering easy, but the AMOUNT of food was more than I have come to expect from Chinese take-out and delivery. It was perfectly cooked, not burnt, not dry. Just wonderful. Pricing is perfect, especially for HOW MUCH food they give you. I feel like I really got a steal. Almost guilty. Wonderful. Just wonderful. Great for those time when you JUST WANT CHINESE FOOD. Mmmmm. read more

When I went to this place I expected some delicious Chinese food but it was just the opposite. I ordered the orange chicken with fried rice and a egg roll. Although the egg roll was soft and fresh it lacked in taste the orange chicken was over powering with citrus and overwhelming with sweetness and the rice was bland. I did not enjoy this meal and will continue my search for a good Chinese restaurant here in Hampton Roads. read more

I saw this place was right down the street from me so I thought I might as well try it. I got the general tso and in my opinion it was perfect. For the price too, I like it a lot! read more

VERY VERY VERY disappointed!!! I went there because of the reviews and boy was it a mistake. I know everyone taste buds are different but if they had what they served me tonight they would 1000 percent agree with me. The food was so bad my dog backed away from it and he drinks out the toilet and eats out of the trash can. WARNING: don't get the Chicken Chow Mein. The gravy supposed to be "white" but mine looked grayish. The gravy liquefied once I poured it out of the container. Once I poured it out it turned into pure "water". I still tried it and it tasted just like water too. This is the worst Chinese food I have ever eaten and I have had my fair share of not so good ones. I have never written about bad food before only on the services but I had to let people know. In all fairness they probably have other food that's good but from this experience I will never find out.I feel for any of you who have had this experience. read more
