General tsos chicken... I'm in love. Just order it!! :)

Best Chinese food I've found since moving here! Affordable. LOTS of food for your money. And TASTEY. I'm a fan. I was at my friends house on Tidewater and searched Chinese food near me.. this one was like a half mile down the road. Reviews looks decent so I wanted to try it out... Some of the reviews stents super great but I don't really see why. The staff is also friendly and quick! My food was ready within twenty or so minutes which is awesome. My husband and I tried the garlic pork, general Tsos chicken, the white rice, and chicken lo mein (the noodles). The general tsos was so amazing. Full of flavor. Different than I've had previously BUT it reminds me of the garlic chicken I was in love with back home in California. I'm not disappointed. My husband loved the pork but there are lots of vegetables snd we both were unaware that it came with any at all. Online ordering didn't specify that. The lo mein is tastey snd a big portion. Noodles are a little softer than I've had before. Maybe that's just a preference for me. My husband loved it and I did definitely still enjoy it. I highly recommend d you stop at Chen's Kitchen in your next Chinese takeout adventure!

I don't know how I missed this place. I was a lifelong Sun Wah customer, so when they closed I was a mess. I haven't had Chinese food in so long until the other day. I was weary about giving this place a chance due to the reviews, but I'm glad I did. The service was good and I loved my shrimp fried rice, shrimp egg fu yung, vegetable egg roll, & lemonade. I was happy with it and so was my family. I am happy I gave them a chance. No one beats Sun Wah (in my opinion), but they are definitely my next choice.

Nice lil corner restaurant with good food best chicken teriyaki ive had in a long time

One of my favorite places to grab a quick tasty lunch when I'm in the area. Pancit, wings and crab rangoon's are great.

I called earlier in the day to see if we should make reservations, but was told they wouldn't be busy. Well, we got there and while they had plenty of tables at 6:30PM, but 7PM that place was completely packed! They had lots of carry-out orders happening too, which all made the kitchen a little slow. We ordered many dishes to share and all started coming out one after another over the next hour until the beef & broccoli was the last dish. Again, I attribute the slowness of the kitchen to their being so busy. At least all the food that came out was very fresh, tasty, and piping hot. Some interesting items that were quite good were their potatoes and green peppers. This dish is something I've never seen before but was pretty good! It features long julienned potatoes that they clearly soak in water before wok'ing with the peppers - that was all that was in the dish, but it was still tasty. Their Fish in Chili Oil & Bean Sprouts was really tasty and fresh! The fish is flounder. Their spicy wontons in chili oil were very popular with our group too. Service here was friendly too and helpful. Like I said, we tried many items, so many more than I just outlined and all were nice. I'd definitely return for a slightly more elevated Chinese menu from what you get at the typical Chinese-American joints.

My family and I (5 people) came in to celebrate my girlfriend's birthday dinner and there was nobody but us in the restaurant. The first thing I noticed was the server. He was dressed in jeans, hooded sweatshirt, a beanie and had a toothpick in his mouth. A bit out of the ordinary but to each their own for proper attire in what I would deem a upscale-ish restaurant. The real issue was him taking our order, seemed rushed. As we were deliberating and figuring out what we wanted. My girlfriend was talking about the scallion bubble pancakes. He came over and said, "I overheard you said the scallion pancakes, did you want to put in that order?" My girlfriend said no, she wanted everything to come out all at once. He said ok and then we walked off. Next thing we know, the pancakes came out WAY ahead of everything else we ordered. By like 15 minutes at least. When my girlfriend said something about it, the waiter said, he said outright " I never heard her say not to order them, she never said anything, and they are out right now". No apology, no I'll go ahead and fix that...nothing. When we we on the way out, we talked to the owner about the experience and the only thing he mentioned was that, the server was new and it's hard to find good employees because they revolve so quickly. Which wasn't really an answer at all. It was definitely a 180 degree turn from the first experience we had here which was 5 stars all around. I think given the experience, we unfortunately won't be coming back

The older lady welcomed and greeted us, and walked us to our table. She was a very enthusiastic lady and was very happy to have us dine at her restaurant. I loved her energy! The food we ordered were mostly her recommendations, and they were delicious! I also liked that they had the Churchill China Blue Willow plates. As I looked around the restaurant, every guest seemed to enjoy their food. Overall, we had a great dining experience and I think most of it was because of the lady's energy. The food was delicious. Definitely would love to dine here again the next time I'm in Virginia.

Overall I would say not the best experience. First, the food was more of a take out Chinese style,…read morebut then was very pricey for what it is worth. We wanted to get the egg rolls as I was craving it, but they said they do not have it despite being on the menu. That was a little disappointing. I got the 6 steamed dumpling, and when my husband chewed down there was bone chunks in the dumpling. We got the sesame chicken which mostly tasted like orange chicken with a little more soy sauce and a little less orange. It was tasty, but again the price for what it was did not match. The honey roasted duck was tasty with a savory thick sauce to dip. We got white rice with our dishes. My husband asked for chopsticks, and there were none which was surprising. The fortune cookie at the end was stale, and my fortune was kind of a hilarious demand to be vegetarian/vegan. The service was decent. The ambiance lighting was very red in color, making it feel dark on the inside. It is awkwardly quiet with loud clinking. One of the light fixtures was broken. Overall, food was just okay, and the pricing did not feel appropriate for what was served.
