    Meatlovers omelette
    Kwame S.

We stopped by Terrie's for a easy breezy late breakfast, and I thought everything was great. The restaurant has a very Mom n Pop vibe especially with the paper placemats displaying ads from local businesses. Both of our waitress were extremely nice and chatty. For my dining pleasure, I went with the meatlovers omelette, which was served with potatoes and a biscuit. My meal was pretty tasty, and the omelette was loaded with a lot of ham, sausage, and bacon. So, it definitely kept me full for most of the day. The prices are pretty reasonable for the area, I think my breakfast was less than 15 bucks. I'm giving them 4 stars because they didn't use the cheese that I requested for the omelette but it was not a huge deal. I would have brought it up to the waitress, but I was starving and did not want to wait for the kitchen to prepare another omelette. Overall, I highly recommend Terrie's for your breakfast needs. Since I found out about Terrie's from a nearby car dealership. I'll definitely return while getting my car serviced during breakfast and lunch hours.

The parking out front is tight but there's more in the back. Staff is friendly af. Down home mom & pop spot for real. Loved the vibe. Food was tasty like and old school diner vibe. I got everything for under $15. Great place and budget friendly in this day and age.

When you're hungry for some good old fashion breakfast make sure to stop by Terrie's Breakfast & Lunch. It is located off Military Hwy near the dealerships, but don't drive too fast because this is a hole-in-the-wall establishment. This restaurant is a family owned restaurant. There were about 2 waitresses, 2 cooks, and a hostess. It is a very small location, I wouldn't say it fits a party. We ordered a strawberry lemonade mimosa, kids pancake, French toast combo, side of home fries, and a pancake combo. For the price, can't beat it! Also, I saw some reviews say they are cash only. This is false. They have added a credit card machine.

I stopped by today for a quick bite to eat for lunch and everything was wonderful. I decided to try the Club Sandwich with French Fries. This is a real Club Sandwich (properly served with 3 pieces of bread) piled high with Ham, Turkey and Bacon. All of the ingredients were fresh and delicious. The French Fries came out piping hot and they were awesome. You can pay a lot more for food around town and not get the quality that you receive here.

I enjoyed my experience at this spot. I has a warm atmosphere and the server we had was very inviting. Our food was hot and tasted good. I am giving 4 stars because they have a limited menu. Other than that I will be returning because it is super close to me house :-)

Today's craving was a good ol fashion Juicy burger and not a fast food one. I decided to give Terries a try. They didn't fail me. I normally just get breakfast sandwiches from here. They have me sold on lunch now. This burger was just like making one at home minus the clean up and the lingering grease smell in your house.

I was taken care of by the chef and she was very helpful with the menu. They have so many appetizing options on their mostly healthy, all fresh menu. I love soup, so I love that they offer several each day, with some standards, plus a soup of the day, which on the day I visited was cream of potato. Where I sat at the counter, I could watch them making all the food and I was impressed to see that they don't just ladle soup into a bowl to serve it, they actually cook and prepare, then dress it to plate it perfectly. Their cream of potato was really good and not the traditionally made where the potato is pureed into the soup - rather they make a creamy soup base and then add potatoes to it. The combo of the soup, a small piece of potato, scallion, and a small piece of bacon really made for a great spoonful in each spoonful I enjoyed!! My coworker got their Asian Chicken Noodle and that looked amazing! He said it was incredible. Next up was the entrée and we both got their lamb gyro.... It's not the traditional gyro, it's an openfaced style, just like their chicken salad toast. It was really good! The tzatziki was great on it! And we also got a side of their cucumber feta salad... this tasted fresh and the feta was vibrant, with the combo of the cucumber and feta together being incredibly tasty. Overall, another very nice visit to a Stockpot restaurant... Looks like I need to try their Chesapeake location to get the trifecta of Stockpot! Highly recommend stopping in!

It jiggled when I tapped it and the side salad tasted great with dill in it and it brightened up things. The combination of both was great. The crust on the quiche was nice as well. My spouse enjoyed their sandwich but didn't realize there was mustard so he ended up just using the chips to eat his egg and sausage. His egg was also fluffy. In fact, I'm known among…read moremy friends and family as a very critical eater--some have even jokingly called me a food critic. So for me to take the time to write this says a lot. From the moment we walked into Oceanview Diner, we felt at home. There was an immediate warmth--like stepping into what America is supposed to feel like--people talking, laughing, and genuinely connecting over good food. The attention to detail was impossible to miss. Fresh-cut flowers sat on each table, adding a simple but thoughtful touch. Before our meals even arrived, we were served homemade herb focaccia with olive oil--an unexpected and appreciated gesture. And yes, even the water stood out. Being near the ocean, you often get that slightly earthy taste, but this water was clean, crisp, and clearly filtered. Now, the food. I ordered the Parmesan-crusted chicken with roasted potatoes and collard greens. The chicken was juicy (not dry at all) and cooked perfectly--something that sounds simple but is rarely executed this well. The collards were good, though I personally would've liked just a touch more salt and a splash of vinegar to bring them fully to life. My partner ordered the fried flounder with asparagus and mashed potatoes and had nothing but praise. Not a single morsel was left on the plate, which tells you everything you need to know. Oceanview Diner delivered not just a meal, but an experience rooted in care, pride, and hospitality. Thank you for an amazing visit--continued success to you, and a huge job well done to the kitchen staff.

It has been nearly three weeks; I can stop thinking about No Frill Bar and Grill…read more I'm a military spouse, so I know my time in Hampton Roads is coming to an end soon. I visited a Hampton Roads Restaurant group on FB and asked if someone was visiting from out of town: What is your go-to place to take them? Out of 90+ comments, No Frill Bar and Grill was mentioned the most - six times! So when I finally had a day off and some other business to tend to in Norfolk, it was the perfect excuse to finally try them. No Frill Bar and Grill has been open for nearly 30 years by Jerry Meltsner. Jerry's nephew Jon Kliner helps co-own and manage operations. It originally opened on Tidewater Drive, but the space didn't allow for much growth - 10 years later, he moved to a location off Colley Avenue and Spotswood Avenue. Growth continued, moving from counter service to table service. The second location, at 1620 Laskin Road in Virginia Beach, opened in 2005. The restaurant's longevity stems from quality, consistency, price, service, and staff who genuinely care about the business and serving the community. I asked the server for her opinion on two options - Salmon, Shrimp and grits won. The dish was incredible: lightly blackened salmon, for once blackened food that doesn't just taste like salt. I don't dine with the swine, so I asked for no andouille sausage. The sautéed shrimp, caramelized onions, tomatoes, and spinach simmered in Norfolk Canyon ale sauce over cheesy grits and Boursin lavash cracker. The cheesy grits were smooth, and the Boursin lavash cracker was a nice touch. The Boursin added extra creaminess to the meal. The cracker wasn't really a cracker - more like little toasted bread. After this first meal, I know two things for sure: 1. I definitely understand why it is such a local favorite, and 2. I will be back.
