My husband & I were visiting Norfolk for the Virginia International Tattoo recently & I came across this restaurant. It was near our hotel & tired of the same hotel breakfast, we decided to try the local bill of fair. It drew my attention as Terrie is also my nickname, although I spell it differently. The food was great! The staff very friendly & accommodating. Had ham, (large piece of ham!) & eggs over easy with a toasted biscuit. All received still hot off the grill! This diner had a great selection of items on their menu and a large specials menu. The bar offers breakfast cocktails and mimosas. I thought their breakfast burrito was good and the service is great. What a great hole in the wall diner. There were plenty of specials and the regular menu was loaded as well. I would have had the shrimp and grits, but they were out of shrimp. So I had the sausage gravy special. It was great! Their sausage gravy is one of the best I've had. I will return if I get back here. read more

We stopped by Terrie's for a easy breezy late breakfast, and I thought everything was great. The restaurant has a very Mom n Pop vibe especially with the paper placemats displaying ads from local businesses. Both of our waitress were extremely nice and chatty. For my dining pleasure, I went with the meatlovers omelette, which was served with potatoes and a biscuit. My meal was pretty tasty, and the omelette was loaded with a lot of ham, sausage, and bacon. So, it definitely kept me full for most of the day. The prices are pretty reasonable for the area, I think my breakfast was less than 15 bucks. I'm giving them 4 stars because they didn't use the cheese that I requested for the omelette but it was not a huge deal. I would have brought it up to the waitress, but I was starving and did not want to wait for the kitchen to prepare another omelette. Overall, I highly recommend Terrie's for your breakfast needs. Since I found out about Terrie's from a nearby car dealership. I'll definitely return while getting my car serviced during breakfast and lunch hours. read more

On a Thursday morning, I used Grub Hub to order some breakfast from Terrie's. I've never heard of them. I just needed something close to where my daughter lives so this was our choice. We ordered a basic breakfast combo with eggs scrambled, corned beef hash, homefries and wheat toast. We also ordered a 1/2 French toast, side order of corned beef hash, and a 1/2 order biscuits and gravy. I made a note to please cook both corned beef hash well along with the toast. Neither was cooked well. Neither was the toast. The biscuits and gravy were good. It had chunks of sausage in it. The French toast was nicely decorated with cinnamon and ordered sugar, however it would have been better if I had butter and syrup with it. It was not in the bag. When you're hungry for some good old fashion breakfast make sure to stop by Terrie's Breakfast & Lunch. It is located off Military Hwy near the dealerships, but don't drive too fast because this is a hole-in-the-wall establishment. This restaurant is a family owned restaurant. There were about 2 waitresses, 2 cooks, and a hostess. It is a very small location, I wouldn't say it fits a party. We ordered a strawberry lemonade mimosa, kids pancake, French toast combo, side of home fries, and a pancake combo. For the price, can't beat it! Also, I saw some reviews say they are cash only. I stopped by today for a quick bite to eat for lunch and everything was wonderful. I decided to try the Club Sandwich with French Fries. This is a real Club Sandwich (properly served with 3 pieces of bread) piled high with Ham, Turkey and Bacon. All of the ingredients were fresh and delicious. The French Fries came out piping hot and they were awesome. You can pay a lot more for food around town and not get the quality that you receive here. read more

If you want some true Mom n Pop eats with that homemade taste, Terrie's is the spot. I have been ordering food from Terrie's since before they moved locations. You can guarantee your food will always be fresh and hot even if you order through delivery apps. Terrie's never disappoints. Anything on their menu is delicious. Whatever you have a taste for. I can't recommend just one thing because I haven't ordered something I didn't like but their Omelette's, grits and French toast are my favorite. But my number one item that I will always reorder is sausage biscuits and gravy! Today's craving was a good ol fashion Juicy burger and not a fast food one. I decided to give Terries a try. They didn't fail me. I normally just get breakfast sandwiches from here. Where to start.... I would have give five stars but the service just wasn't it for us. The staff is definitely all family and friends which offers a cute vibe but my party couldn't help but feel like our waitress didn't like us, we did our best to ensure we included are yes ma'am , no ma'am , thank you ma'am but nothing would help change the attitude we got.... Regardless of that, we still left a hefty tip. The food was delicious but could have gone without the country ham. A little toooooo salty but over all delicious. Everything you'd expect when you go to a cute little diner. Prices are not bad. Will go back and hopefully we will fill a little more ... welcomed. read more

One star is a high rating. The staff is not friendly. Some of them walk around with their hair down while serving food. They stand at the front counter visibly on their cell phones. The waitress didn't give her name, ask how we were, tell us the specials, or anything. She said "what can i get you?" Took our drink order and walked away. So the service overall sucked. The food was very disappointing. My husband got a slice of molded toast.... The home fries had literally no flavor. I got a chicken and biscuit. The chicken was the same size as the biscuit... Needless to say I won't be returning. Save yourself and don't go either. read more

I'm going to be nice and give this place 3 stars. My server was very nice and the men's room was very clean so I guess that's why but otherwise for some odd reason this diner seemed awkwardly creepy. Didn't feel comfortable here. Anyway, I was having my car worked on across the street and since I hadn't eaten yet I walked over for breakfast. Yes it's a hole in the wall, that said I ordered eggs, toast, home fries and turkey sausage. Eggs, toast, and home fries were VERY bland, (yes I'm on a low sodium diet so I know what bland tastes like!), however the turkey sausage was VERY good. It redeemed the other bland items. This was a cool little spot to stop in for breakfast. We were heading back to our side and didn't want to sit in traffic so we decided to have some breakfast until it lightened up a bit. At this point, we are basically vegetarian with vegan tendencies. So I got the large (3) order of pancakes, and 2 eggs scrambled hard with water. Hubs ordered eggs, raisin toast, and home fries with orange juice. The first hostess that greeted us upon entry was very warm and welcoming and invited us to sit wherever we'd like. We chose to sit at the counter. It was clean and everything was in place. The first menu I saw between the salt and pepper shakers was a burger menu that included a breakfast burger; that's pretty creative! Then we were greeted by the girl that was gonna be our server, I don't recall her name, but she was super nice and personable as well. The food comes out hot and plated very nicely. I'm a bit of a pancake connoisseur, so this was a big deal. The butter was already melted onto the pancakes, ( bonus points to you sir in the kitchen) and they were the perfect balance of fluffy and firm. They were not thick and cake like as I've had at some places, but also not flat little saucers. I like my edges crispy, and they were right in the middle. The eggs were scrambled hard just as I requested with no runny ness and also not overdone with brown spots. All in all, we'll definitely come back whenever we are over this way. I have to say we came to eat here because of the reviews. The staff was so/so, but the overall service wasn't that great. They have limited options for sides on the weekends. Even though they have them written on their boards on what their specials are they don't have everything. The food wasn't bad at all but to be honest it's more than just the food, the service has to match. They do not take card, cash only but they did have an ATM inside. read more
