The best thing we had and the only thing we'd probably order again was the green beans. They were flavored so well - a nice bit of smokiness, good about of pepper, and perfectly salted. A couple specific food problems were: 1) Friend green tomatoes. Given the presentation, we asked our server if they were fried pickles. Nope! Okay, that's fine. At first. Thought they were just super hot and need a minute to cool down. But they were drenched in oil from the fryer. At first I tried dabbing them in the basket. Went to Fishin' Pig with a group of friends for a late lunch, we had reservations, so seating was a breeze. The staff were friendly and gave good recommendations. Ambiance is aesthetically pleasing with a country roadside shack motif. The bar area has TVs with sports and a great selection of craft beers and house specialty cocktails. The only drawback is that parking during peak working hours can be tricky with only street parking available as there are lots of small businesses and other restaurants in this area with the same issue. The Food is REALLY GOOD! I had the Pork & Pollock; a healthy lump of pulled pork with two pieces of battered and fried pollock, a cup of slaw and a side of your choice (I got the Cindy's Mac-n-cheese). I also added a side of their hushpuppies, and my only complaint is that my stomach was not big enough to finish it all. Tip: if your hushpuppies come out with their house made honey butter, just ask you will thank me latter. Various BBQ sauces are provided on the table for your meats and sides; my favorite was the sweet Memphis style. Went here Sunday after 7 pm for dinner. No wait time to be seated, but we didn't like the table we were originally sat at, which was in the middle of the room, so we did wait a few mins to be moved to a more comfortable booth instead. Staff were accommodating and friendly. The restaurant has a nice ambiance fit for an enjoyable fun night of drinks and food. To drink, I tried their $5 Cranberry Crush (7/10) it was refreshing and slushy, but not strong at all really just a slushy juice and the Georgia Peach (10/10) loved the flavor and was a decently strong drink. To eat, we started with the Pork Rinds appetizer (10/10) they were definitely fresh and flavorful; I loved the sauce that came with them. I also ordered the Catfish basket (5/10) I was excited when this came to the table because it looked as though it would taste good and was a great portion size; however, it didn't meet my expectations at all. There was no flavor to the fish or batter and the Mac and cheese was very much the same way, bland. Though I am giving a lower rating, I would come back for drinks and to possibly try a different food. Feel like I must've ordered the wrong thing or the cook was having a bad night? I usually don't do sweet bacon, but this was crispy. The heirloom tomatoes were ripe, round, and juicy (I love tomatoes). The home made coleslaw was lite on mayo but heavy on cabbage, diced carrots, apple cider vinegar, and crunch. The restaurant/sports bar is very spacious. There are lots of TV monitors, and you can see one no matter where you sit. Table service is what you get after the hostess seats you. The tables are covered with paper because depending on what you get, things can get messy. The menu options are complete. You can get a seafood dish, BBQ, or mix. They have kids options also, but I recommend bringing them early cause at night, it's more of an adult environment. Service is amazing. These servers are experienced, friendly, and always available for you. Make sure you tip them nicely if you can. This place has a dive feel to it but is family-friendly. Came in on a Tuesday evening and the place wasn't packed, be you could tell there were some regulars. Was seated and immediately had my drink order taken. Upon looking over the menu, the waitress told me that this days special was half off ribs so I decided to grab a rack and make use of the deal. Now before I get into the food itself, I have to speak on my order, I asked for dry ribs and asked to sub the coleslaw for green beans instead.
