Went here Sunday after 7 pm for dinner. No wait time to be seated, but we didn't like the table we were originally sat at, which was in the middle of the room, so we did wait a few mins to be moved to a more comfortable booth instead. Staff were accommodating and friendly. The restaurant has a nice ambiance fit for an enjoyable fun night of drinks and food. To drink, I tried their $5 Cranberry Crush (7/10) it was refreshing and slushy, but not strong at all really just a slushy juice and the Georgia Peach (10/10) loved the flavor and was a decently strong drink. To eat, we started with the Pork Rinds appetizer (10/10) they were definitely fresh and flavorful; I loved the sauce that came with them. I also ordered the Catfish basket (5/10) I was excited when this came to the table because it looked as though it would taste good and was a great portion size; however, it didn't meet my expectations at all. There was no flavor to the fish or batter and the Mac and cheese was very much the same way, bland. Though I am giving a lower rating, I would come back for drinks and to possibly try a different food. Feel like I must've ordered the wrong thing or the cook was having a bad night? I have no clue, but I'm open to returning in the future. My overall rate of experience : 6/10

We really enjoyed our time here! Our waitress Rhett was so attentive and had such great energy. She definitely helped in making this an enjoyable experience. The food was a 10/10 across the board! Portions are big, food is flavorful and the prices a reasonable. I loved the pulled pork and Alaskan Pollock. And the hush puppies are a MUST order! This is a great place to bring the family or come with friends, very spacious and the energy of the establishment was very pleasant.

BLT and slaw. That coleslaw had that southern drawl.

The Fishing Pig was absolutely a great way to spend an afternoon with friends. The BLT Club sandwich with extra mayo on toast with candied bacon was smoky, sweet, and honey glaze was a surprise. I usually don't do sweet bacon, but this was crispy. The heirloom tomatoes were ripe, round, and juicy (I love tomatoes). The home made coleslaw was lite on mayo but heavy on cabbage, diced carrots, apple cider vinegar, and crunch. I was impressed by the fresh collard greens which were well seasoned, not too salty, and definitely Southern. Don't tell anyone but I added hot sauce to my collard greens. Great food and friendly service.

Not the best BBQ. The food is not horrible, but the quality was a little on the low side. The service was excellent, and our waitress stole the show. But I go for the food. This was my first time, so I asked what to order. She recommended the platter and warned me that customers had said the brisket was dry. I ordered the platter, and yes, it was dry. So here is my problem. You get complaints that there is something wrong, and you don't do anything about it? So, are you okay with serving food that isn't good? Is your quality control that poor? Or are you just trying to make a buck and serve bad food? The wings were fine. The fish tacos were so so. I will never go back.

Extremely pleasant place to eat. Great for groups. Fairly popular. Open concept with efficient service. The Blackened Ahi Tuna with Mac and Cheese, delicious! Definitely coming back! Menu is very fun! Extremely clean establishment. Thank you! I'm coming back with friends next time lol!

The atmosphere was great, our waitress was the sweetest person ever, and the food was delicious. The Mac and cheese skillet was smacking and the crab dip/pretzel combo is my new app standard.

Ok, so apparently the Mrs and I must've come here when there was a different person on the smoker. This time around we were not impressed at all. The brisket was very fatty, the ribs were tasteless, the wings were undercooked, and the bbq was overcooked. On a high note the hush puppies were great the slaw was ok and the Mac and cheese was palatable. We won't be returning after this experience.

Delicious, friendly servers, relaxed no frills bar for families. Was worth the drive from VA Beach. The atmosphere was beyond wonderful.

The sides* were amazing and the service at the bar was great! Sadly, the brisket and baby back ribs brought the whole meal down. We may try once more just in case it was an off night. * in addition to those pictures, I had friend green tomatoes and my husband had sweet potato fries and their smoky baked beans.

I'm glad I finally got to check this place out! It was nice that it was open on Labor Day. I went in with some friends and had a great time. There was minimal wait for a booth. Our server was Shannon and she was great with explaining the menu! My platter was delicious. My favorite was the chicken. If I had one wish it would be that the brisket was a little more warmed up. But the flavors were great. I recommend mixing the spicy sauce and Memphis barbecue sauce together.

A great place for large groups, obviously since we had 50 people or so there for dinner. And I have to commend the staff as they delivered great customer service and happy attitudes! I ordered the shrimp po boy and this thing was no boy at all. It was the size of an ogre! There was probably 12 pieces of fried shrimp laying on probably a foot long piece of bread. But it's hard to call this a sandwich because it was all fork and knife to get this in my mouth. Super delicious and great flavor all around. I loved the crispy batter and sauce drizzled over. I would definitely share this next time.

The appetizers were the highlight of our meal. We really enjoyed the fried pickles and the hush puppies with the sweet butter. Our main courses were not good at all. My husband got the ribs and he had a hard time eating them. I ordered the pulled pork and it was dry and cold. It was a little busy when we got there so we did have to wait about 15-20 minutes. Their waiting area is not great. The chairs were not comfortable and it was super close to the door which kept bringing in cold air. The host could have been a little more inviting but our waitress was nice and quick to get our orders and food out.

The food is amazing here! They appeared a little short staffed, it was a Sunday so I kinda get it. Overall this is somewhere I'd recommend and be back when visiting.the menu is plentiful with so many options to choose from. Everything tastes "homemade" and delicious. The service was a little off as I mentioned they appeared to be short staffed. Even with the short staff our waitress and others were very attentive and responsive to anything needed. We had the chicken tacos, Bang Bang shrimp, rib platter, fried chicken, hush puppies and meat platter all of which were "deelish". The alcoholic beverages were a bit dull, tasty but you aren't going to get any kind of buzz with the "pretty" drinks here. Cheers to the Fishing Pig!

It was challenging to find parking but thankfully, we were able to find a spot right in the front. We were greeted as soon as we walked in and were seated right away. With it being lunch time, we assumed we would be able to grab some lunch but to our surprise, they were serving brunch and we were only able to order off the brunch menu. We were slightly confused and definitely didn't have taste for breakfast items so we had to choose from a small selection of non-breakfast items. We started with Palomas. The drink menu only included the drink prices for Happy Hour, and it definitely wasn't Happy Hour, so we weren't sure how much the drinks were. The server mentioned one price, then came back and told us another price but either way, all that would've been eliminated if the prices were on the menu. After looking over the brunch menu, my friend didn't see anything appetizing so she asked if they could make a BLT Sandwich, which wasn't on the menu, and they agreed. I decided on the Crab Cake Sandwich. The food was served in decent time. My friend had an end piece of tomato on her sandwich, which was disappointing. Our server took her sweet time checking on us so and we literally had to flag down another server just to get ketchup. My sandwich didn't even come with remoulade sauce that was supposed to be added. I did enjoy my sandwich though, it was very tasty. I also ordered the Bourbon Glaze Wings 'to-go' and they were delicious. From not being able to order from a lunch menu, to our server not being attentive at all, our experience wasn't that great. We also had to battle flies the entire time we were there, and we were sitting inside so that was a bit frustrating. The restaurant is located right by the Marina and it has great views but the service left a lot to be desired. I may return for dinner in hopes of a better experience but it probably won't be any time soon.

From the moment we arrived, the hostess, Milk, was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and professional. She made us feel valued from the start, and throughout the evening she continued to provide excellent service to every table she assisted. She truly deserves recognition and a promotion. Unfortunately, our assigned server provided one of the worst dining experiences I've had. After taking our food and drink order, she returned only with our drinks and then disappeared for 15-20 minutes without checking on us. My friend's daughter's entrée arrived before our appetizers, and our appetizer--fried hard chicken wings--didn't arrive until about 20 minutes later. When we asked about the delay, the server said it was because we requested the wings to be fried hard. She then made a comment about "Black people in the kitchen cooking." Whether she intended it as a joke or not, the comment was unprofessional and made us uncomfortable. Because of the poor service and attitude, we asked if another server could assist us. While Milk continued to be wonderful, another employee with purple-blue hair was also very rude when we asked for assistance. Her attitude was dismissive and unpleasant. Later in the evening, around 11 p.m., I asked a staff member near the kitchen if they had lids for our seafood buckets. She responded "No" with an attitude. I then asked if they had to-go cups, and she said they did but claimed she was off duty. Less than 30 seconds later, she went behind the bar and began making and serving drinks, which made her response even more confusing. Shortly afterward, she began arguing with my friend at our table for no apparent reason. At that point, we asked Milk to get the manager. The manager came over, sat down with us, listened to our concerns, and apologized. He explained that he was actually off that day but had come in to help support the restaurant. We appreciated that he took the time to hear us out and said he would address the issues with his staff. The food itself was good, but good food cannot make up for poor customer service and disrespectful attitudes. We wanted this to be a memorable celebration for my friend's daughter, not an evening spent dealing with rude employees. Customer service is just as important as the food. Sadly, because of the experience we had, we will not be returning. I hope management invests in better customer service training because employees like Milk show what great hospitality should look like, while others left a very negative impression.

I like how in the dining area, they put covers over the overhead lights so it isn't super bright. AND THE DRINKS ARE SOOOOOOO GOOD. First time we went, we overheard the waitress say she didn't want to serve us, she was exhausted. Rightfully so, she was the only server. We held nothing against the server, we were peeved with the owner. The woman with the light hair. Took what felt like forever to even get drinks. They were also out of a lot of food... which isn't necessarily a bad thing... but the items I wanted were no longer available so I just ordered the fried green tomatoes. They were fine, they just needed more sauce and a bit more seasoning in the breading! The poor server was just miserable while we were there, and the owner was just kinda walking around telling everyone what needed to be done, not quite helping, more so micro managing. We ended up tipping the poor girl $35. I hope she got to keep it all. Fast forward to this week. We tried it out again. It was a bit warm. We had been Instructed that they had family visiting and if it got too loud to let her know. The noise wasn't the issue at all. When we sat down we saw that it was 76° inside! We wanted to eat though, so we tried to tough it out. There was only one waiter and then another girl helping him serve the food. Again, and I don't know how it happened again, the boy had said to the lady he didn't want to serve us, there was too much going on. She had told him he was going to serve us, strike 1. We ordered all of our food at once to make the poor kid's life a bit easier. We didn't get drinks until about 20 minutes after sitting down. (The pineapple drink bangs btw). And we were literally sitting there DRIPPING sweat. Even the owner had beads of sweat alllll over her face. We ended up asking for our order to go. And my husband ordered his sandwich without Cole slaw. We said that literally a COUPLE of minutes after we ordered. The food magically appeared, and they had US package it all up. And my husband couldn't even tell the owner that he asked for no Cole slaw, but she kept talking over him. And she ended up being the "polite" kind of rude after we asked for our food to go. We weren't angry, we were just hot. But looking back on the bigger picture, it definitely angry. Especially for the young people they have serving. The poor server was so stressed so again, I do not blame the servers. We tipped that bot $25 and again, I hope he gets it ALL. I 100% put the blame on the owners. This place should be a food truck... not a restaurant. The bad reviews didn't make sense to me.... Until they did.
