Though the serving hours are a bit limited, they paid it off with the prices, and without sacrificing the quality of the dish. I had a Philly Steak Omelette, and it was immaculate. I wish the place becomes a bit more known to Norfolk locals.

2 egg breakfast with grits, over medium eggs, white toast and bacon . Dang, just looking at this pic is making me hiungry

It's better when you dine in. I tried this spot a few times in 2018 and 2019, did not care for it at all. However, this last weekend I decided to give them another shot and was pleasantly surprised. The service is fantastic, their customer service skills are amazing. I guess you could say they are the Chick-Fil-A of diners. I don't drink coffee but I did watch as a sweet woman went around the diner every few minutes to top off coffees. They were constantly cleaning the tables, wiping down the salt and pepper containers and just keeping it clean. I don't think it is because of Covid, I think that they like to keep it clean. The waitress who I think may be the owner was ridiculously friendly but not in an intrusive manner. I'm not a regular, but she certainly made me feel like one. Let's get to the food. I went twice in one weekend. Both times I had the 2 egg breakfast. It is two eggs, your choice of protein, toast or English muffin and grits, fruit or home fries. Both times I picked eggs over medium, bacon, white toast. One day I had grits and the next it was fruit. The grits were perfect. Be warned the fruit is not fresh, so I will stick with the grits. The bacon was crisp, eggs were PERFECT and they use real butter on the toast. If you're looking for a trendy place to dine, this is not the spot for you. If you're looking for a breakfast place that serves up fast and delicious food with excellent service then give this place a try. Again, my previous take out experiences left me wanting but their dine in game is strong.

I absolutely love this place!!! I always get the French toast and it is amazing. The customer service is amazing and they treat me like family. It's definitely gives diner vibes. I love that the potatoes are hand peeled. You definitely have to check out this place.

the establishment is in need of an upgrade for sure, there is also a weird smell upon entering. food was greasy and salty, not sure why all the reviews are in their favor. maybe it's because the staff are friendly , seems like they have their dedicated customers too as they knew them by name and had lengthy conversations.

Shoot straight from the hip hole-in-the-wall local greasy spoon/diner. It has been YEARS since I've been coming here off & on. I have been on a streak lately. The food, service, & staff (IMO) has gotten much better throughout the years. Menu has become extensive. Nothing fancy. Simple. Ambiance could use a facelift, but I personally love the nostalgia. Parking is tight. This place can get packed with the local Norfolk natives. I say come if one wants an inexpensive home-cooked meal. No frills. Straight to the point. Coffee stays topped off. Get in. Get out.

Very relaxing atmosphere with delicious food. Coffee was great and tasted fresh, unlike other places that seem to recycle their coffee grounds. The place does not look like much from the outside but looks great once you walk in. Customer service was great.

Only things worse than the insane Fox News propaganda on the tv were the food and the service. "Kalamata" olives were actually canned black olives. Eggs were undercooked. And the "fruit" was canned syrupy crap I wouldn't serve to a dog. See pic. Awful diner -- how on earth does this place have 4 stars?

This morning, my husband and I fortunately had some delish breakfast food from the Little Creek Diner in Norfolk Virginia via grubhub delivery. My hubby had a sausage, egg and cheese breakfast sandwich on rye bread while I had the flounder breakfast with eggs, rye bread, and fruit.  The only caveat is that the guava and pineapple fruit mixture was outside my usual cup of tasting tea though fortunately the taste of the rest of my breakfast food and the friendliness of the driver made up for it.

I'll start by saying this: I am not someone who typically writes reviews. In fact, I'm known among…read moremy friends and family as a very critical eater--some have even jokingly called me a food critic. So for me to take the time to write this says a lot. From the moment we walked into Oceanview Diner, we felt at home. There was an immediate warmth--like stepping into what America is supposed to feel like--people talking, laughing, and genuinely connecting over good food. The attention to detail was impossible to miss. Fresh-cut flowers sat on each table, adding a simple but thoughtful touch. Before our meals even arrived, we were served homemade herb focaccia with olive oil--an unexpected and appreciated gesture. And yes, even the water stood out. Being near the ocean, you often get that slightly earthy taste, but this water was clean, crisp, and clearly filtered. Now, the food. I ordered the Parmesan-crusted chicken with roasted potatoes and collard greens. The chicken was juicy (not dry at all) and cooked perfectly--something that sounds simple but is rarely executed this well. The collards were good, though I personally would've liked just a touch more salt and a splash of vinegar to bring them fully to life. My partner ordered the fried flounder with asparagus and mashed potatoes and had nothing but praise. Not a single morsel was left on the plate, which tells you everything you need to know. Oceanview Diner delivered not just a meal, but an experience rooted in care, pride, and hospitality. Thank you for an amazing visit--continued success to you, and a huge job well done to the kitchen staff.

The Brick House Diner is located in the Providence Square Shopping Center in Virginia Beach. This…read moreshopping center is accessible from both Providence Rd. and Kempsville Rd. I have had a few visits here now, and the most recent visit was on January 12, 2026. At the beginning of each new year, I like to try a place that I have never been to before, so January 1, 2026, was the first time I had come here. My mom was with me. Depending on when you come in general, parking can be limited at times with all the other businesses in this shopping center. Upon first look at the place from the outside, you can see the name and logo pretty easily. It looks similar to other places that happen to be in this same shopping center. We got here around 8 am on that first visit. When we came inside, it wasn't too busy yet, likely due to others probably still sleeping after being up past midnight for the new year. The inside of the place has a modern diner type of vibe, which fits the restaurant well. We were greeted and seated immediately. Our server Brooke came over pretty quickly and asked us what we would like to drink. I just do my usual of water with lemon, and my mom had gotten coffee. It would take us a little while to choose since there lots of good items to choose from. When she came back to check again, we were ready this time. I figured I'd get something I don't normally do, so I went for the French Toast Combo with scrambled eggs, bacon, and baked apples. My mom decided to go with the Ultimate Skillet with rye toast. The food would come out pretty quick. It was around ten minutes or so. Both breakfast entrees looked really good and they were hot. It felt like an indulgence when I started on the French toast since it has been a long time since having it. The baked apples were great too, and something else I don't normally have. I will note that I didn't get a blood sugar spike after this meal either that day. My mom enjoyed the Ultimate Skillet as much as I did with the French Toast Combo. After the experience from that first visit, we came back to try the lunch/dinner menu options for dinner that day. This visit was on January 12, 2026. After being seated initially, we moved over to a table since the booths were a bit tight. Kellie was our server on this visit. She asked us what we wanted to have to drink, and I went with water with lemon and my mom went with a coke. After taking some time to look over the menu, we were ready to order. My mom decided not to have too much, so she just went with the Loaded Baked Potato side item. I decided to try the Chipotle Chicken Ciabatta Sandwich with the homemade chips as the side. Just like the last time, it took about ten minutes or so for the food to come out. The sandwich I had was really good, and so were the homemade chips. This time, this meal did spike my blood sugar levels, but it was so good. My mom told me afterwards that the loaded baked potato she had come out cold. It was then that we let the server know, and she asked if she wanted to get it redone. She said no but wanted to take it home instead. The server did take off the cost of that item. It was likely due to it sitting before my sandwich was ready to bring them out together. Mom did get a box to bring it home and had it later that evening, and she said it was good when it was heated up at home too. Overall, we have had a few very good experiences here. The food and service were good, and the issue for my mom was handled well too. That shows they truly care about the experience of the visitors here. Both menus may be just two sides, but there is quite a bit to choose from. I think anyone would find something they would like here. There is one thing I want to note when it comes to paying. There is a 3% surcharge added to the total including taxes if you use a credit card instead of cash. In the end, if you are looking for a diner type of place, this one is worth checking out.

A quick heads-up for first-timers: the turnoff for the parking lot behind the restaurant is easy to miss if you're relying on GPS. Several of us had to make a U-turn after the bridge. Thankfully, we had a reservation, which I highly recommend since the restaurant is not large. I'm not sure what prompted our host to choose LeGrand Kitchen, but every single one of us was glad they did. I honestly can't recall a single complaint from the entire evening. Despite our large group, the atmosphere never felt cramped. Instead, it was cozy and intimate, perfect for a romantic dinner, a family gathering, or even a business meal. The menu offered a great mix of options, including both their regular menu and a seasonal specials menu, and several of us ordered from each. We shared a variety of appetizers, all of which were outstanding: pork belly with candied jalapeños, a salad with the most delicious pickled onions, a winter salad with goat cheese, pecans, and roasted squash, and pimento cheese. Every bite was a hit. Entrees ranged from regular menu favorites to specials, including the LeGrand Burger (which we later discovered was named one of Yelp's Top 100 Burgers in America), short ribs, tender and flavorful pork chops from the specials menu, and the ribeye. Every guest at the table thoroughly enjoyed their meal, so much so that we all took leftovers home. The server and kitchen were also more than willing to accommodate individual taste preferences by exchanging sides, which was appreciated by a few in our party. Dessert was just as impressive. We ordered a variety from the menu, including the Blonde, Atlantic Beach Lemon Pie, which was fresh, light, and absolutely delightful, Chocolate Pot de Crème, and Carrot Cake. Every dessert was outstanding. Our server was attentive and pleasant throughout the evening. Drinks were always full and plates were cleared promptly, and service never felt rushed or intrusive. Overall, this was one of the best dining experiences our family has had in years. Bravo, LeGrand Kitchen, we will definitely be back!

The restaurant seating is relatively small with a large, spacious bar behind a separating wall. We were greeted by a friendly & jovial host who immediately seated us. Our two person table was comfortable with padded seats. My seat was next to a window ledge which was the perfect spot for my purse. The menu options were an absolute "WOW". Once I saw the daily specials, I knew exactly what I would order. The House-made Venison Sausage with White beans, Sea Island peas, kale, persimmons in country ham jus came with two large sausage links and an ample amount of the rest of the dish. It was a delicious mix, definitely enough to have served two. My son's entree was the Tile Fish with squash grocchi, mushrooms & brown butter vinaigrette. He proclaimed it excellent. We began the meal with appetizers. I chose the Grilled Cabbage with garlic yogurt, apples & castelvetranos. My choice was excellent. But when I saw my son's Oyster Stew with potatoes & thyme, I immediately craved it. After the meal we first declined dessert. But I decided just to take a look. What I saw sounded amazing. There was no way I could pass up the Combread Pudding in Toffee sauce with whipped cream & encrusted with candled pecans. Begging my son to share it with me, he promised only to take a bite. When he tasted that wonderful concoction he changed his mind and shared. The Cornbread Pudding is absolutely amazing. The restaurant changes their menu often. The menu items are unique dishes that offer options you won't find elsewhere. There is absolutely nothing I found wrong with LeGrand Kitchen. It was perfection.
