The building doesn't look like much as you drive in from Terminal Blvd but once you pull into the parking lot and are welcomed by cute outer space murals. I LOVE Kitchenfinity! We go here for office lunches all the time, and we've never had a bad meal. The staff is so friendly, service is quick, and I love the paintings on the wall. First off, the employees are super friendly and attentive from the second you walk in the door until you leave. They say hello, ask if they can help, tell you about the food, hustle around to clean up, etc. It's really nice to see a place where employees are engaged and hardworking. I ordered the Nashville chicken tenders meal which came with a drink. I wasn't sure how hot they would be so they suggested I get half hot and half regular. The hot ended up being just right and they were complimented well with the "come back" sauce, tater tots and side of mac n cheese. The chicken was tender and flavorful and 4 pieces was more than enough. Honestly, this size is enough for me to share with someone so keep that in mind when ordering. I prefaced this by saying I need/want to come back because there were several specials I wanted to try "next time", including dessert. I remember when this place was a Quiznos Subs when I was in elementary school (*mumbles* 23 years ago *mumbles*) lol anyways chile, Kitchenfinity is a business that started as a food truck that serves up different variations of street food. When you go in you can see all the different festivals they've competed in all over the country, it's pretty cool. Since they've opened I've had the pleasure of trying their Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich, Smash Burger with bacon jam, macaroni and cheese, tater tots, and taiyaki. Everything I've had was pretty tasty and served up with a smile! The last time I visited I heard that they plan to start up Sunday Brunch, which I'm excited to try as well! This restaurant has cool wall painting on the wall and modern decore. I love the variety of different choices of food. From burgers, fried shrimp, short ribs, fries, salad and Philippine breakfast. On this cold, rainy, dreary drab day we were warmly greeted with enthusiasm and a smile by one of the owners. I was politely informed that they were sold out of short ribs. It was an hour and some change prior to closing, so if you are hankering some short ribs, it's probably best to hit them up earlier in the day. They have eclectic dining options and it's not overwhelmingly abundant. The owner did mention the yelp 757 deal, he had a feeling that's what I came for. The young lady that took my order and rang me up had an amicable and pleasant disposition. They only had pomegranate dole whip available for the taiyaki. When my friend ordered the same deal, she was asked what type of filling would she like for her taiyaki. I overhead that there was an option which I don't believe I was informed of, so I made a beeline to put in a Nutella request for my filling, rather than mango. I really appreciate how the cashier/server opened each container to show us each of our sandwiches, as well as asking us whether we wanted our taiyakis at the same time as our food or later. I opted for mine later, but like fellow YES, Maria stated the dole whip is an excellent balance to the heat from the Nashville hot chicken. You're offered whether you prefer mild or spicy. I bit the bullet and went for the spicy, which I found definitely on the spicy side. I'm not aware of my Scoville scale threshold but I know it's not very high. The sandwich came out piping hot and the chicken, crispy with a nice golden brown glossy bun. I'm definitely a fan of pickles, which is included. The spice quickly numbed my tongue for a brief moment, but a surge of flavor came through. It was ever so slightly saltier than I prefer, but delicious nonetheless. The taiyaki with Nutella and pomegranate dole whip was heavenly palate pleasing! I was excited to have taiyaki in the area. Someone wrote that this is one of the other places that serve them, I need to know where those other places are? Help a cousin out. While the taste earned high marks with its fruity, creamy light texture and the soft sweet flavored taiyaki shell was deliciously divine, the taiyaki was on the crumbly and tail-less side. I know, calm down Janice it's just a fish shaped pastry that's going to be devoured anyway, what do you care? Food presentation is an art that shouldn't be ignored, as well as culinary skill which the former wasn't lacking here. I was a bit disappointed with the taiyaki appearance, but the dole whip with its smooth, tubular magenta swirls was its saving grace aesthetically. If I had to choose between my dish tasting good versus looking good, I will choose taste. But, if I can have both good tasting and beautifully presented food I would prefer both, please. What a cute little restaurant next to MCX in Norfolk! They are fairly new as they just opened August 2023, but they are not new to the game when it comes to cooking up some delicious food. They've been catering many events and participated in many festivals in the area. They have a wall showing all those places. There's plenty of outdoor seatings and tables inside. They offer a new menu item each week so you have to tune into their social media accounts to see what that is. However, they do have staple dishes like the Nashville Chicken Sandwich, Short Ribs and their breakfast items. The owner did say one week they had a seafood boil as their week's special! Ugh I missed that... Since it was Yelp $7.57 month, they offered the Nashville Chicken Sandwich and Taiyaki. What a great combo because the sandwich had a nice kick to it and the dole ice cream that comes with the Taiyaki cooled it all down. I also ordered orange chicken, pancit and chicken lumpia. Everything was so delish!! Fresh and hot! The orange chicken is not like what you'll find at a Chinese restaurant, it's different. It's like peppery and taste like real oranges in the sauce. First visit for Yelp 757 deal! As soon as I walked in I was greeted w/ enthusiasm. Won me over already. I ordered the deal to go which includes the Nashville Spicy Chicken sandwich & Strawberry Dole Whip Taiyaki. I wasn't planning on eating the sandwich, but I couldn't help myself. It smelled too good. I cut it in half & planned on saving the other half for lunch the next day. Also, didn't happen. lol I have zero discipline. I don't normally fried chicken sandwiches and I could be wrong but this reminded me of Chick-fil-A Spicy chicken sandwich, but far better! The crunch factor was perfect as was the toasted buttery bun. At least I'm pretty sure there was butter. The spice level hit perfect. Not too spicy & not just heat. This was far from a bland sandwich & it wasn't greasy! Flavor, texture, & seasonings all married well. The Nashville chicken sandwich was amazing! Perfect amount of heat and a delightful crunch to it. The chef told my husband that the chicken was hand-breaded. The Taiyaki was just as good as I hoped it would be. The Dole whip was perfectly tart. I chose to have mine with Ube filling, but I think the flavor got a bit lost with the ice cream. Saw this place being featured on a lovely yelper's instagram (thank you yoonie!!), and i knew as soon as I saw the taiyaki feature, I had to go try this place ASAP! Kitchenfinity has both outdoor and indoor seating, but the inside can become filled quickly if they get busy. No problems with finding a table the time I went, and when I went up to order, the staff were very friendly, helpful, and patient while I figured out what I wanted. They were running on a limited menu at the time, so I ordered their Nashville hot chicken sandwich meal and taiyaki as dessert. The sandwich was some good stuff! The chicken was flavorful and crispy, wasn't as spicy as I thought it would be but it still gives a nice little kick that I think anyone would enjoy. The Mac and cheese reminded me of Panera's version but way better, and the tots were absolutely delicious with the signature sauce drizzled over them! As for the piece de resistance, the taiyaki was everything I had hoped it'd be and more: the dole whip was sweet and fresh, but getting it mixed in with the Nutella and freshly made taiyaki was absolutely amazing. This is one of the few places, if not the only place, in 757 to get taiyaki and they did NOT disappoint! I'd love to see what other flavors they could do, like a more traditional red bean style or more fusion styles like halo halo. Kitchenfinity opened in August of 2023, just outside the Camp Allen Marine Base in Norfolk and down the street from the Marine Corps Exchange. It is a woman owned, Pacific-Islander owned, and Asian owned business, led by their friendly and outgoing owners, Maricen and Rich, both of whom bend over backwards to please their customers. The name was inspired by their desire to be open to creating an infinite number of possibilities for their cuisine. They offer a rotating multi-cultural menu featuring a wide variety of different cuisines, including a number of Filipino and other Asian dishes, as well as some American comfort classics. One favorite that is always on the menu is their Nashville Style Hot Chicken Sandwich. A variety of Chicken Wing flavors have also been appearing on their Wing Wednesday. A couple of other American favorites appearing on a rotating basis lately are their Smoked Turkey Legs and a variety of their Gourmet Hot Dogs. There are many more, and they were even doing a Prime Rib Friday for a while. They participate in a lot of catering and special events. Their Ube Smashburger won the 2nd Place People's Choice Award in the 2024 COVA Battle Of The Burgers event held in June. They took part in the Virginia Beach Street Food Festival last weekend. Their new and rotating weekly specials are usually posted on their social media pages every Tuesday. I have now visited Kitchenfinity during five lunch time visits, and they were slammed with customers each time as proof of their popularity. I have tried the following to date: NASHVILLE HOT CHICKEN SANDWICH: I have tried this sandwich twice with mixed results. Their chicken is hand breaded and prepared in a dry rub style with Cayenne Pepper that can be made a little spicier on request. It also comes with "Comeback Sauce", which is a mayonnaise based sauce that originated in Mississippi. I ordered mine without it, as mayonnaise doesn't agree with me. My first one was tender and juicy while delivering a mildly pleasant amount of heat. I asked for a stronger dose of heat the second time, which came through well, but the chicken itself came out a bit tough and dry. My Average Rating: 3.5 Stars. PANCIT & LUMPIA COMBO: This was one of their recent specials. I chose Chicken as my choice of protein for both the Pancit and Lumpia. The stir-fried Pancit noodles were prepared dry and flaky, which is how I like them, and were full of flavor. The Pancit was a bit lukewarm and not as hot as desired.. The two pieces of Lumpia were hot, crunchy, and tasty. My Rating: 4.5 Stars. CHICKEN ADOBO MEAL: Chicken Adobo is regarded by many as the national dish of the Philippines. This dish was enjoyed as one of their rotating specials and came with two pieces of Lumpia and Lemonade. It is prepared with chicken thighs coated in a warm glaze of soy sauce, vinegar, garlic, peppercorns, and bay leaves. The thighs were tasty and satisfying. The Lumpia came through well again, and the Lemonade was refreshing. I would have liked a little more heat from the peppercorns and a little less soy sauce in the mix, which left me with a slight aftertaste. My Rating: 4.5 Stars. BULGOGI BIMBAP RICE BOWL: This was enjoyed as one of their rotating Korean specials. It was beautifully presented and came packed with tender bulgogi beef, and fresh vegetables over a bed of rice, and a "savory sauce" for a flavorful result. I would have liked just a little more marinade to their beef and a deeper fermented taste to their sauce, which was made with a base of Korean Gochujang Paste. My Rating: 4.5 Stars. I have also enjoyed the following Desserts: TAIYAKI WITH POMEGRANATE SOFT SERVE ICE CREAM: Taiyaki is a Japanese fish-shaped pastry and is one of their regular menu items, topped with their soft serve ice cream flavor of the week. The taste and texture of the Taiyaki combined beautifully with the Pomegranate Soft Serve for an incredibly delicious result. My Rating: 5 Stars. MANGO SOFT SERVE ICE CREAM: Mango was their flavor of the week, and it was pleasant and refreshing. I was craving a stronger Mango flavor. My Rating: 4 Stars. BUKO PANDAN SOFT SERVE ICE CREAM: This popular Filipino flavor was their flavor during another week. They had to make a fresh batch during my visit. It was prepared a bit too quickly, as it began to melt and drip as soon as it was served. Otherwise, its flavor was incredibly delicious. My Rating: 4 Stars. MY SERVICE RATING: 5-Plus Stars. Their busy owners and employees go out of their way to check on their customers whenever they can catch a spare moment. My overall rating comes out to a strong 4 stars, and I wish I could give a 4.5 star rating. My work here is not over, as I have already made out a list of dishes to try during my future visits. Sophia and I had the chance to check out this spot. Reviews have been highly positive since they opened up last year. Even Channel 13 gave them a spotlight for their Friday Flavor segment last month. Now you know yours truly had to come see if the hype was worth it....or would I leave with a super sad face??? Upon walking in, we were greeted by the staff behind the counter. The decor was perfect. The seating arrangement, the artwork and even a Mortal Kombat 2 arcade game and a karaoke machine. This is a man cave (or a woman cave) type of spot. Only things missing are a couch, a pool table, exercise equipment, and beer (or liquor and wine). Oh wait....I almost forgot about the food. Basically you go up to the counter and order and pay and they bring it out to your table when ready. I selected their Sunrise Chicken sandwich combo meal (a special) which was their Nashville Hot Chicken sandwich topped with a fried sunny side up egg and mac-n-cheese and tater tots. I also had their Taiyaki ice cream with the fish-shaped pastry filled with Nutella. I don't say this very often, but this meal was pretty damn good. The chicken sandwich....one of the best I've ever had....period. It was full of spicy flavor (not overpowering) and the bird was fried with every bite full of crunch. And you can never go wrong with a fried egg to top it off. Even the buns were crunchy. And the sides....speechless. The taiyaki ice cream....the icing on the cake that I needed for the entire meal. Sophia managed to get the Nashville Hot Chicken sandwich (non-spicy that is) and lumpia for the sides and enjoyed her meal. Kitchenfinity, all I have to say are two words: Thank You. Yes because my scale proves it. This place is great and I am embarrassed to say that I did not know Kitchenfinity was so close to where I live. Saving grace is that it has not been open that long so that is my excuse but the secret is out now. The staff is very friendly and the only thing better than their friendliness is the outstanding food you get at a more than reasonable price. I went the Nashville chicken sandwich and almost forgot that there was the 757 deals going on and specifically it was $7.57 for the Nashville sandwich and taiyaki. The taiyaki brought back memories of when I lived in Japan and purchasing them at festivals or as a snack at local shops. Very tasty and mines came out fresh and hot. I ate it all in the car as I dipped it in the strawberry ice cream dessert cup. Now the main course. This chicken sandwich was on point. It seems like after Popeyes came out with there chicken sandwich other places were try to boost up their versions that they already had. Many have failed and cause me to avoid chicken sandwiches at many places. Trust me this is one place you do not want to avoid their chicken sandwich. If you worried about it being too hot no need to worry about that. It will not be one of those items where you take a bite and have to wait for the next bite. Crunchy, juicy, flavorful and that pickle added a nice tang to it. They must brine their chicken in something for it to be that juicy after frying. My husband works on NATO & I work on Langley, two totally opposite sides of the bridge, so when he told me I HAD to try Kitcheninfinity one day for lunch I knew it must be good! The service was awesome, every one of the employees were kind, knowledgeable & very speedy. Their menu is unique but not in the weird way, just things I never thought to put together but it works in delicious harmony! The dining area is a bit small but there is over flow seating under the covered / heated patio. I had the spicy chicken macaroni totts and it was DELICIOUS! Kitchenfinity is one of newest restaurants to open up in the Hampton Roads area and I have been watching their stories and announcements for several months! I was able to visit for the first-time last month and arrived around lunch time on a Tuesday and they had completely run out of most menu items (due to their truck having issues that day) so the only thing left was lumpia, fried chicken biscuit or tenders - I was REALLY looking forward to their Garlic fried rice and longanisa! I was able to try to their chicken biscuit which was pretty good/standard. But the STAR of the show was their Taiyaki! I got it with their UBE ice cream filled in the center and it was tasty! This is the only place in the area that serves Taiyaki so I was so stoked to try it! I will say the outside wasn't as 'crispy' as I would have like but still enjoyable. Ube ice cream was delicious! Staff was friendly and were working very hard to push items to all of it's customers. Seated is very limited inside, about 6 tables total but they do have outdoor seating too. WOWOWOW I am in love. First of all, the outside is very cute. They have Halloween decor set up, so I love the festive vibes. Walking in, the wall art is super cool! My favorite is the spam, eggs, and rice planet. The service was phenomenal. Everyone was so friendly. They showed us our food as it was served, and they waited for us to finish eating before giving us our ice cream. So considerate. The chicken sandwich was just so good, chefs kiss~ crispy, saucy, the added pickles. Just yes! The lumpia WAS MEATY GOODNESS. Really one of the best lumpia frfr. The garlic rice had that garlic. The bbq was yummy and saucy. Gotta eat the whole thing, cartilage and all. THEN THE TAIYAKI. So so so good. I'm so happy someone has decided to serve taiyaki ice cream in the Hampton Roads. Nutella filling with strawberry dole whip ice cream. A beautiful combo. I hope for more flavors in the future, maybe sesame ice cream?? I would love that. Thank you again! I can't wait to come again! I've gone 3 days in a row just so I can try all things I wanted on the menu. I've had the French dip sandwich, Pan de "soul" burger (Ube pandesal), and the Nashville hot chicken sandwich. I've enjoyed every item that I had, that's 3/3 that I would come back to order again for lunch. Service is nice, they welcome you with a smile and I haven't had to go back to say they missed something because my orders have been on point. Being next door to the marine base, it's expected that you're going to see Navy and Marines, not too loud or hectic, everyone is there to have a good lunch. They have table top games, card games, mortal kombat arcade game, one TV playing Netflix, I did see a karaoke machine, but haven't seen anyone using that haha. First, I came here because of the much advertised dessert called taiyaki . But through sheer bad luck, the machine isn't working today! So definitely need to come back. While here, I asked which is the mist popular menu item - the chicken sandwich so I of course ordered one. It comes as a meal as well but I stick with just the main chicken sandwich item - btw I chose spicy which was recommended. I also ordered the lomo saltado, according to the owner is popular which was offered as part of their Latin American week menu. I got both to go so got to pause a bit... And am back after taking my order home. The Lomo Saltado was unfortunately dry and chewy, although the beef portion was good. The sauce was not enough to soften/drench the meat. The fries that went with the Saltado wasn't crispy on the outside. The spicy chicken sandwich was good, could be better with a lettuce and maybe some other condiment. Maybe this was an off day. I've been wanting to go here since opening day! I finally got the chance today and it was everything I hoped for! The inside is cute and clean and the workers are super friendly. I love how personable the greetings are and how one of them got the door for me on the way out when they saw my hands were full. I only got the dessert cup this trip because I already brought lunch to work but it was DELICIOUS and worth every cent. I love how besides the pineapple dole whip, it comes with other treats that compliment it's sweet and tarty flavor. The mochi (placed in with the umbrella) was the best part of the dessert along with the Nutella-filled taiyaki. The other food pics I posted are my friends' food. I was pleasantly surprised on how mouth-watering it looked in real life because tbh I originally just wanted to come for the dessert. They said it was pretty good and now I can't wait until the next time I come back to Norfolk for work to try their other entrees. They change their menu every few days so I'm curious and excited to see what they have in store for the next time I'm around. Thank y'all so much for the great service & food! 100/10 read more

Kitchenfinity is absolutely a hidden gem in this area! It's located in not the most known area and it is kind of isolated. It's located in front of a military base in a single building but please don't judge them by their cover. It is a locally owned business and they offer a limited Filipino cuisine with their take on other dishes. We stopped in for lunch and the interior was clean and nicely decorated. There isn't too many tables as it's small inside so beware. We ordered the Nashville Chicken sandwich and tenders along with a kids chicken tender meal. We also ordered a pineapple dole whip with an ube ice cream taiyaki. The Nashville chicken was absolutely outstanding as the batter was perfectly seasoned and the chicken was hot and juicy. A good Nashville chicken has hot sauce or heat incorporated into the breading and Kitchenfinity sure did it the right way! The Nashville chicken is highly recommended in my opinion. The pineapple dole whip was a good sweet treat but the ube taiyaki could've have had more ube flavor. We will definitely come back to try the other offerings! Solid experience!! read more
