Shrimp Po Boy sandwich

Food is great Shrimp po boy was juice and flavorful, fries are seasoned just right. Staff warm and friendly. Inside and outside dining available.

I LOVE Kitchenfinity! We go here for office lunches all the time, and we've never had a bad meal. The staff is so friendly, service is quick, and I love the paintings on the wall. The decor is so cute and inviting! They have regular weekly specials, and also rotating specials that change week to week. Everything I've tried there from the regular menu to the specials has been phenomenal. You also get tots AND white cheddar mac with every meal. The portions are so big for the price. You'll leave feeling full and satisfied. Definitely give them a try!

10/10 - the Smash Burger was one of the best I've had in a long time, the owners are super down to earth and treat customers like family. If you're in the area looking for good food, stop in here.

I'll preface this by saying that I need/want to go back to try additional menu items but I'd feel remiss if I didn't give them some kudos now. First off, the employees are super friendly and attentive from the second you walk in the door until you leave. They say hello, ask if they can help, tell you about the food, hustle around to clean up, etc. It's really nice to see a place where employees are engaged and hardworking. I ordered the Nashville chicken tenders meal which came with a drink. I wasn't sure how hot they would be so they suggested I get half hot and half regular. The hot ended up being just right and they were complimented well with the "come back" sauce, tater tots and side of mac n cheese. The chicken was tender and flavorful and 4 pieces was more than enough. Honestly, this size is enough for me to share with someone so keep that in mind when ordering. I prefaced this by saying I need/want to come back because there were several specials I wanted to try "next time", including dessert. Keep up the good work and I'll be back for some more good service and food!

This restaurant has cool wall painting on the wall and modern decore. I love the variety of different choices of food. From burgers, fried shrimp, short ribs, fries, salad and Philippine breakfast. They serve breakfast, lunch and dinner. It's also nice that they try and add new, dishes and specials for the week, so definitely ask when you come by. I had their short ribs combo. The ribs and rice where great. The lumpia was petty bland. I couldn't resist and try the Taiyaki dessert with choice of ice cream flavor they have for the day. Definitely will come back and try their specials!

I remember when this place was a Quiznos Subs when I was in elementary school (*mumbles* 23 years ago *mumbles*) lol anyways chile, Kitchenfinity is a business that started as a food truck that serves up different variations of street food. When you go in you can see all the different festivals they've competed in all over the country, it's pretty cool. Since they've opened I've had the pleasure of trying their Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich, Smash Burger with bacon jam, macaroni and cheese, tater tots, and taiyaki. Everything I've had was pretty tasty and served up with a smile! The last time I visited I heard that they plan to start up Sunday Brunch, which I'm excited to try as well! (Right now they only do Filipino breakfast on Saturdays and one Saturday I came it was past breakfast time.) All in all, Kitchenfinity is a hot new business with food that sells out for a reason, and I wish them nothing but success moving forward.

Time after time of going, it's always a delicious experience !!! With weekly specials changing every week and different specialty dishes being created just for our personal experience, you are destined to have many many favorites here !!!! Owners Rich and Maricen have high goals with infinite possibilities of food creativity by having a diverse menu full of multi-cultural deliciousness Upon entering the building you will enjoy the art work and murals on the walls showing a little history of their successes and also their military connection to the base. Also their are some cool murals in both bathrooms of a mermaid (female bathroom), and a scuba diver (male bathroom). A tent with heaters is also available next to the building for large groups if need be. Oh course everyone's favorite, the Smash-burger with Jalapeño jam and the Nashville Chicken sandwich are always available with that white cheddar Mac & Cheese, but also available are Specialty Hot Dogs, and loaded Nashville Tater Tots. Oh and don't forget that breakfast menu with a Chorizo Burrito, Bacon & Sausage egg Burrito, Nashville Chicken Biscuit, Biscuit and Gravy, or the breakfast platters of Longsilog and Pineapple Spam & Eggs. Just to give you an idea of some of the weekly specials that they've had, they are as follows Smoked Turkey Leg Stuffed Smoked Turkey Leg Carne Asada Fries Chicken Adobo Connecticut Style Lobster Roll Prime Rib French Dip sandwich Prime Rib * Jalapeño Bacon Jam Smash-burger with Sunny side Egg on regular Pandesal or UBE Pandesal Pandesal also available for purchase Let us not forget them deserts though, like Funnel Cake Fries with homemade UBE glaze, or your choices of Strawberry and Chocolate. And of course the delicious Tayaki with Strawberry Dole Whip. Keep in mind they have sold out a few times of their weekly specials so do call and get your order in if possible.

Taiyaki With Pomegranate Soft Serve Ice Cream

Kitchenfinity opened in August of 2023, just outside the Camp Allen Marine Base in Norfolk and down the street from the Marine Corps Exchange. It is a woman owned, Pacific-Islander owned, and Asian owned business, led by their friendly and outgoing owners, Maricen and Rich, both of whom bend over backwards to please their customers. The name was inspired by their desire to be open to creating an infinite number of possibilities for their cuisine. They offer a rotating multi-cultural menu featuring a wide variety of different cuisines, including a number of Filipino and other Asian dishes, as well as some American comfort classics. One favorite that is always on the menu is their Nashville Style Hot Chicken Sandwich. A variety of Chicken Wing flavors have also been appearing on their Wing Wednesday. A couple of other American favorites appearing on a rotating basis lately are their Smoked Turkey Legs and a variety of their Gourmet Hot Dogs. There are many more, and they were even doing a Prime Rib Friday for a while. They participate in a lot of catering and special events. Their Ube Smashburger won the 2nd Place People's Choice Award in the 2024 COVA Battle Of The Burgers event held in June. They took part in the Virginia Beach Street Food Festival last weekend. Their new and rotating weekly specials are usually posted on their social media pages every Tuesday. I have now visited Kitchenfinity during five lunch time visits, and they were slammed with customers each time as proof of their popularity. I have tried the following to date: NASHVILLE HOT CHICKEN SANDWICH: I have tried this sandwich twice with mixed results. Their chicken is hand breaded and prepared in a dry rub style with Cayenne Pepper that can be made a little spicier on request. It also comes with "Comeback Sauce", which is a mayonnaise based sauce that originated in Mississippi. I ordered mine without it, as mayonnaise doesn't agree with me. My first one was tender and juicy while delivering a mildly pleasant amount of heat. I asked for a stronger dose of heat the second time, which came through well, but the chicken itself came out a bit tough and dry. My Average Rating: 3.5 Stars. PANCIT & LUMPIA COMBO: This was one of their recent specials. I chose Chicken as my choice of protein for both the Pancit and Lumpia. The stir-fried Pancit noodles were prepared dry and flaky, which is how I like them, and were full of flavor. The Pancit was a bit lukewarm and not as hot as desired.. The two pieces of Lumpia were hot, crunchy, and tasty. My Rating: 4.5 Stars. CHICKEN ADOBO MEAL: Chicken Adobo is regarded by many as the national dish of the Philippines. This dish was enjoyed as one of their rotating specials and came with two pieces of Lumpia and Lemonade. It is prepared with chicken thighs coated in a warm glaze of soy sauce, vinegar, garlic, peppercorns, and bay leaves. The thighs were tasty and satisfying. The Lumpia came through well again, and the Lemonade was refreshing. I would have liked a little more heat from the peppercorns and a little less soy sauce in the mix, which left me with a slight aftertaste. My Rating: 4.5 Stars. BULGOGI BIMBAP RICE BOWL: This was enjoyed as one of their rotating Korean specials. It was beautifully presented and came packed with tender bulgogi beef, and fresh vegetables over a bed of rice, and a "savory sauce" for a flavorful result. I would have liked just a little more marinade to their beef and a deeper fermented taste to their sauce, which was made with a base of Korean Gochujang Paste. My Rating: 4.5 Stars. I have also enjoyed the following Desserts: TAIYAKI WITH POMEGRANATE SOFT SERVE ICE CREAM: Taiyaki is a Japanese fish-shaped pastry and is one of their regular menu items, topped with their soft serve ice cream flavor of the week. The taste and texture of the Taiyaki combined beautifully with the Pomegranate Soft Serve for an incredibly delicious result. My Rating: 5 Stars. MANGO SOFT SERVE ICE CREAM: Mango was their flavor of the week, and it was pleasant and refreshing. I was craving a stronger Mango flavor. My Rating: 4 Stars. BUKO PANDAN SOFT SERVE ICE CREAM: This popular Filipino flavor was their flavor during another week. They had to make a fresh batch during my visit. It was prepared a bit too quickly, as it began to melt and drip as soon as it was served. Otherwise, its flavor was incredibly delicious. My Rating: 4 Stars. MY SERVICE RATING: 5-Plus Stars. Their busy owners and employees go out of their way to check on their customers whenever they can catch a spare moment. My overall rating comes out to a strong 4 stars, and I wish I could give a 4.5 star rating. My work here is not over, as I have already made out a list of dishes to try during my future visits. I can see an upgrade to a 5-star rating in an updated review. The owners have definitely found a winning formula for success, and I wish them the best of further success going forward.

Braving this torrential downpour for the love of taiyaki & some Nashville hot chicken.

On this cold, rainy, dreary drab day we were warmly greeted with enthusiasm and a smile by one of the owners. I was politely informed that they were sold out of short ribs. It was an hour and some change prior to closing, so if you are hankering some short ribs, it's probably best to hit them up earlier in the day. They have eclectic dining options and it's not overwhelmingly abundant. The owner did mention the yelp 757 deal, he had a feeling that's what I came for. The young lady that took my order and rang me up had an amicable and pleasant disposition. They only had pomegranate dole whip available for the taiyaki. When my friend ordered the same deal, she was asked what type of filling would she like for her taiyaki. I overhead that there was an option which I don't believe I was informed of, so I made a beeline to put in a Nutella request for my filling, rather than mango. I really appreciate how the cashier/server opened each container to show us each of our sandwiches, as well as asking us whether we wanted our taiyakis at the same time as our food or later. I opted for mine later, but like fellow YES, Maria stated the dole whip is an excellent balance to the heat from the Nashville hot chicken. You're offered whether you prefer mild or spicy. I bit the bullet and went for the spicy, which I found definitely on the spicy side. I'm not aware of my Scoville scale threshold but I know it's not very high. The sandwich came out piping hot and the chicken, crispy with a nice golden brown glossy bun. I'm definitely a fan of pickles, which is included. The spice quickly numbed my tongue for a brief moment, but a surge of flavor came through. It was ever so slightly saltier than I prefer, but delicious nonetheless. The taiyaki with Nutella and pomegranate dole whip was heavenly palate pleasing! I was excited to have taiyaki in the area. Someone wrote that this is one of the other places that serve them, I need to know where those other places are? Help a cousin out. While the taste earned high marks with its fruity, creamy light texture and the soft sweet flavored taiyaki shell was deliciously divine, the taiyaki was on the crumbly and tail-less side. I know, calm down Janice it's just a fish shaped pastry that's going to be devoured anyway, what do you care? Food presentation is an art that shouldn't be ignored, as well as culinary skill which the former wasn't lacking here. I was a bit disappointed with the taiyaki appearance, but the dole whip with its smooth, tubular magenta swirls was its saving grace aesthetically. If I had to choose between my dish tasting good versus looking good, I will choose taste. But, if I can have both good tasting and beautifully presented food I would prefer both, please. Also, I was curious as to how one receives more edible adornments on their taiyaki like the mermaid tails or candy covered strawberries that I've seen on others' Yelp pics. Don't sleep on this place! Visit Kitchenfinity to take yourself to food infinity and beyond!!

What a cute little restaurant next to MCX in Norfolk! They are fairly new as they just opened August 2023, but they are not new to the game when it comes to cooking up some delicious food. They've been catering many events and participated in many festivals in the area. They have a wall showing all those places. There's plenty of outdoor seatings and tables inside. They offer a new menu item each week so you have to tune into their social media accounts to see what that is. However, they do have staple dishes like the Nashville Chicken Sandwich, Short Ribs and their breakfast items. The owner did say one week they had a seafood boil as their week's special! Ugh I missed that... Since it was Yelp $7.57 month, they offered the Nashville Chicken Sandwich and Taiyaki. What a great combo because the sandwich had a nice kick to it and the dole ice cream that comes with the Taiyaki cooled it all down. I also ordered orange chicken, pancit and chicken lumpia. Everything was so delish!! Fresh and hot! The orange chicken is not like what you'll find at a Chinese restaurant, it's different. It's like peppery and taste like real oranges in the sauce. It was not overly sweet. I really enjoyed my meal and I will be back soon! Please show them support and check them out!

First visit for Yelp 757 deal! As soon as I walked in I was greeted w/ enthusiasm. Won me over already. I ordered the deal to go which includes the Nashville Spicy Chicken sandwich & Strawberry Dole Whip Taiyaki. I wasn't planning on eating the sandwich, but I couldn't help myself. It smelled too good. I cut it in half & planned on saving the other half for lunch the next day. Also, didn't happen. lol I have zero discipline. I don't normally fried chicken sandwiches and I could be wrong but this reminded me of Chick-fil-A Spicy chicken sandwich, but far better! The crunch factor was perfect as was the toasted buttery bun. At least I'm pretty sure there was butter. The spice level hit perfect. Not too spicy & not just heat. This was far from a bland sandwich & it wasn't greasy! Flavor, texture, & seasonings all married well. My guess is that a lot of time went into the construction of this chicken sandwich to make it perfect and IMO, it has paid off. I surely appreciated it and enjoyed it! I'll have to return and try other items! The hot dogs look delicious! Thank you Yelp 757 and Kitcheninfinity for this collab and opportunity!!

I've wanted to go to Kitchenfinity ever since I saw they sold Taiyaki on social media. When I saw the Yelp $7.57 deal, I knew I had to go and I'm glad I did! The Nashville chicken sandwich was amazing! Perfect amount of heat and a delightful crunch to it. The chef told my husband that the chicken was hand-breaded. The Taiyaki was just as good as I hoped it would be. The Dole whip was perfectly tart. I chose to have mine with Ube filling, but I think the flavor got a bit lost with the ice cream. I will definitely come back to try more of their menu items!

When arrived looks pretty much like former restaurant less decorations. Two groups seated about eleven persons. Bar was empty. Slowly filled two more tables and three or four at the bar. About 20 persons in total. Most of the visit, only single waitress serving tables and bar as long with busing tables. Kitchen is semi open. Only one person could be send in kitchen. Two persons only seemed understaffed for near full menu service and bar. No bus person, kitchen help, runner, or dish washer seen. Menu Asian fusion for lack of better term. Ordered scallion pancakes and spicy spring rolls. Service slow.... After ordering. Pancakes are one of my favorite snacks. Order portion size was large for appetizer. Scallion pancakes should be chewy with a flakey crust, savory with an onion punch from the scallions. These were chewy with no flakiness at all. Sort of like a flour tortilla with onion in the mix. The dip was like extra salty soy sauce spiked with raw ginger, strong and almost inedible. Then about five minutes later spring rolls arrived. Piping hot then down hill. First impression,, over cooked and greasy. Did not appear to have been drained. two small puddles of oil in dish below rolls. Sort of cross between lumpia and cha gio with appeal of neither. Noodles and meat wrapped together and fried. Favors muddled and greasy. Dipping sauce not much either. As a person who has sat through many food handlers permit classes. I witnessed a no-no with the waitress. Concerning.... It appears that disjointed service front to back needs improvement. Like location and ideas but without consistent execution it will likely fail in long run. Will be back?? Not likely Never say never. If still open this time next year?? Plus next block up there is very good ramen/Filipino/Vet place.

I'm all for new businesses with a chill vibe and this place has it!…read more Well I found out this place is an extension of the Origami Asian Bistro. The bistro has a lounge/club atmosphere about it, while The Bamboo Room is a restaurant that caters to the brunch crowd. Well to my surprise I had never heard about either place until a few Sunday's ago. Somehow I received word through avenues that an event was taking place here on Sunday, February 11th. I was in the area, but I had already eaten breakfast. Seemingly, I figured I'd check it out because I was super curious. I did have a super hard time locating this place. After driving in circles for 10 minutes, I called the contact number and those directions provided were spot on. I believe the address I had was much different than the address that pulls up when searching for this place. Nevertheless, I am here... I pulled up and I saw at least four others walking ahead of me. I figured ok... traffic... this place must be worth checking out. I took a few pictures before heading inside... upcoming events taking place at Origami... I stepped foot inside and was immediately awestruck by the brow raising aromas of their Sunday brunch! Man, I wish I was a little bit hungry just to give them a try. But again, I was super full, but going by the smell alone, five stars!! Well speaking of stars... I subtracted a half of a star because I cannot vouch for the food because I did not try anything. And the other half of the star is because they did not have WINE! WHAT!!!??? So yeah, a huge blow...but mimosas were featured... at least two kind (a special juice and orange juice). I tried the special juice mimosa...sensational! I exchanged words with the bartender, Niecey, a waitress, Tiana and someone who seemed to oversee everything, Kam. They all were super friendly and forthcoming about everything. Especially the bartender she gave a me a little background on the restaurant and she enlightened me about Origami. Evidently they had an awesome SuperBowl event...she raved about it. And the young man, Kam, handsome fella, he asked a few times if I was ok... southern hospitality I'd say. Just an awesome vibe all throughout my dining in experience. The bartender even offered those sitting at the bar a sample of an alcoholic shot... it was delicious! I think I saw them offer everyone in the restaurant a shot... great hospitality I'd say. Cheers! Music was played through a speaker or two... nice tunes... those sing along type songs. Well I enjoyed it... anything from 80s music to Beyonce! There was a group present celebrating something and they all seemed to be having a great time! The atmosphere at noonish... the place is about 700 square feet and on this day including myself, the restaurant had about 25 guests during Sunday Brunch. I'm excited to return and try the brunch buffet with another mimosa! I recommend if you are in the area on a Sunday to give them a try. They only feature Sunday brunch right now. I believe. Now the Origami Bistro... I am unsure of the hours. But they have events from time to time... The Bamboo Room has spark a super interest... they are on to something! The Bamboo Room is located same shopping center as Ollies off of Virginia Beach Blvd. in Norfolk. Also in the shopping center you'll see, a Chinese Buffet Restaurant and MP Island Restaurant on the opposite end of the Bamboo Room. There is also plenty of parking. But visiting on a Sunday shouldn't present any issues at all. Have fun and enjoy life :)

I tried about 7 different rolls, including Philly, Rainbow, Fantasy, Spicy Girl, Crazy Train, Butterfly, and Spicy Tuna. What I liked about the rolls was that they were not over stuffed with rice, on a few of the rolls you could actually taste the fish. For the rolls with crab, they used real crab meat and not the imitation crab. Their signature item is mango, so there are a few rolls that have mango in them.My favorite was the Fantasy Roll with cream cheese, shrimp tempura, avocado, and crab. Atmosphere was relaxed and laid back, not too noisy. Service was great, took about 10 mins from order to having food on the table. And the price cant't be beat for Ayce lunch sushi for $16. Salmich's beef on weck is the best I recall ever having. The kummelweck roll is fresh, the beef with just enough au jus is perfect, and the horseradish is a tasty eye opener. The rest of the family share bites of their sandwiches - all great, and plentiful. We stop by every time we come down to Virginia Beach to visit my son, living here year round. Worth the stop, even if you're not a Bills, Sabres, or Bandits fan ! Of course that much better if you are. Ian D.

I chose the Becca Burger, without mushrooms and their Steak Diablo Fries. They make everything fresh, to order with fresh ingredients. The burger was clearly freshly hand-packed, the jalapeños were freshly sliced, not pickled. Since they make it all fresh, you might wait a few minutes longer than the typical burger joint, but that's fine considering the amazing eats you're about to enjoy. My burger came out looking beautiful and it was definitely sitting tall! The flavor was excellent! Meat was great too!! I definitely liked having their chipotle mayo on it!! Those steak Diablo fries were incredibly tasty, with a nice kick, but sooo much more flavor than heat! The fries themselves were great, perfectly crispy and tasty, but adding all those toppings truly made it special! Service was nice... I had a few questions and she was helpful with the answers. Lastly, they have birch beer here, which I loved! Highly recommend stopping in for a great burger and fries experience!!
