Rising like a phoenix from the fiery asphalt of Granby Avenue is Ann Thai Cuisine!!! An oasis of flavor and hospitality that knows no equal! Ann Thai Cuisine serves up delicious food at a reasonable price. Ann Thai Cuisine - NOT THE SAME-SAME!!! The ambiance is clean and simple. The staff is very helpful and polite. I personally like the artificial flowers and the vibrant pictures of Thai Food. It's straight forward and to the point. The staff (2 or 3) is usually busy with a steady stream of take-out orders. Ann Thai has been in business for only 2 years yet has garnered many awards that testify to the powerful and mighty spice of these food options!!! ALL TRUE! I typically stick to the Red or Massaman curries. However, I have branched out and tried the Northern Thai dishes, Panang Curry and of course Pad Thai. They are all good, great even. They will of course spice it to your liking. I have greatly enjoyed eating at this fine establishment. If you live in the Hampton Roads, Larchmont, Ghent and East Little Creek Geographies get down, don't delay to Ann Thai Cuisine. You will absolutely not be disappointed.

This place is an absolute gem! The food is a dream--so authentic, traditional, and genuinely prepared and hosted by an amazing Thai staff, which really sets it apart. I truly love it here. A few quick tips for your visit: You can easily customize your spice level. If you're a spice lover, definitely go for "Thai spicy"! If you're a fan of Thai iced tea, they easily have the best one in Hampton Roads. Honestly, everything on the menu deserves your attention. Note on service: It's a very casual, "homey" Asian-style vibe where you might need to help yourself a bit. The auntie gets super busy sometimes, but she's sweet--just make yourself at home and enjoy the amazing food! No complaints at all.

It's been a minute since I had my last Thai cuisine and when I found this on Yelp and so close to my house I immediately went for a lunch... Definitely an excellent decision since I enjoyed the food. I ordered Panang curry w chicken #38 it was so good, a little spicy but after a few bites you will get use to it and it was so good probably a little more rice will be excellent. Pad Thai is very good as well the tamarind flavor mixed with the noodles was amazing. Thai tea was flavorful and not too sweet. I also have the mango sticky rice and she even added more coconut sauce. The service was so personal... I read a review that she was rude but definitely she is NOT some people might misinterpreted her but it is only because of her way of speaking but she is so nice. She gives a personable experience like you are dining with a relative, she makes you comfortable. The restaurant was clean and has more tables to dine in. Highly recommended and definitely will go back... worth every $$

I come here to eat very often after work, and every time I visit i debate whether to order something new or get my regular. Originally saw very good reviews for this restaurant, and the food and service definitely shows. I hope others can experience the food and hospitality at Ann Thai Cuisine !

My husband is a hard sell and even he gives this place five stars! Delicious food and wonderful, hard-working, appreciative staff; all so friendly and welcoming. It's not the fanciest place, but the food cannot be beat. I can't wait to try some of their other options in the not too far future. In the area? Check Them Out!

On this very cold supposed to get snow day, I wanted to trek to Norfolk to try Ann Thai. Drive to this place twice before: once unexpectedly closed (emergency?) and then They're not open on Mondays! So reviews rave about khao soi beef noodle soup. It was ready in 10 minutes less. Smells so good! And the owner came out to serve, took a picture of her creation and even asked if I wanted hot water!!! Such wonderful personal service. And I had the pleasure of meeting Ann, the very friendly and warm owner. She offered hot water and a little bit of Iced Thai tea. She shared that she opened a year ago and that within a few months her restaurant has earned accolades as best restaurant in Norfolk in 2025. I can see why! The food here is delicious! I definitely have found the best Thai restaurant. Everyone needs to come to try this restaurant. Trust me you will thank me later

Ann Thai Cuisine was so good we can't wait to come back. The owner and her daughter were hospitable and kind. We had the drunken noodles and massaman curry--both were yummy, savory, and perfectly portioned. It's true Thai spice, so even medium will be hot. We also sincerely appreciated the military discount. One note: bring cash if you can, as there is a 3% fee for card payments. Highly recommend!

I haven't loved the Thai places in the area, but I can already tell that Ann Thai is going to be in my regular rotation of treat-yo-self options!! This place was recommended to me by 2 trusted sources, where their comparison of Thai food is from a visit to Thailand and their regular spot in New York. It's a quaint little hole in the wall. Right off Granby in the Wards Corner area. You can pick up or dine in. My first visit I dined in. Service was phenomenal. Everyone was so kind and attentive. And THE FOOD?! Yeah I'm here to stay lol. First I ordered the Thai tea, coconut soup, and crispy chicken panang curry (#38). Absolute perfection. The soup has just the right combination of sour from the tamarind and umami from what I'm assuming is fish sauce, then the coconut milk to round it all out. My soul needed that soup. The CURRYYYYYY! The chicken in it?!?!?! SO GOOD. The thai tea was different. It's not as "thin" as other places that serve Thai tea. I think that's good? Oh and I took home some mango sticky rice. It never stood a chance. Devoured immediately. Not too sweet and just the right freshness I came back to pick up for lunch because I love pad see ew. The noodles are thick but they're somehow sweet? It's kinda giving Korean rice cake? But the flavor was just right. I also got the wings! They were spicy but the Thai pink milk drink balanced everything out on my tastebuds. I'll be back. I want to try more! If the soup and pad see ew are the way that they are, I'm sure their pad Thai is delish. Maybe I'll actually start to crave the dish knowing how good the food is from here. Whoever Ann is, she's that girl

Saying something is "the best ever" shouldn't be taken lightly. But its without a doubt that Ann Thai Cuisine is the best Thai food that I've ever had the pleasure of having. We drove 7 hours to be here, and would gladly do it again. The food, drinks, service, and just everything was so amazing. We got to speak with the wonderful owner personally, as well as the kind gentleman working the front of the store. We had the Pad Thai, Pad Kee Mao, Thai Iced Tea and Matcha Thai Iced Tea. Everything was absolutely phenomenal. This restaurant deserves all their accolades and more! The only thing to watch out for is that there were quite a few potholes in the parking lot, but that's not something in their control!

Ambiance was not that great, but dang the food was on point. Bought a lot of food. Spent $100 and fed 6 people well. My wife has never had Thai food, and she said we will go back. With just the two of us so we can save money! The spring rolls and Pad sweet and sour with chicken are. AMAZING! Pad Cashew Nut was delightful as well, you can add spice and we did on one of them. We are here for a month, and plan on eating it again after the kids all leave!

The staff was so friendly and food was delicious! The Green Thai Tea was super creamy and yummy!!!

The service and food was phenomenal! The staff was so friendly and food was delicious! The Green Thai Tea was super creamy and yummy. I visited from out of state, and I'll have to come back just to eat here again!

Amazing food and amazing service!! Ann is the sweetest, and treated our entire group with so much hospitality and kindness. I've been to Thailand multiple times, so I have a very high standard when it comes to Thai cuisine. The food here was so delicious and authentic, the flavors here took me back to my time in Bangkok! Make sure to get the wings, chicken panang, and Thai tea! Please don't miss out on this delicious restaurant!

It's incredibly spacious with high ceilings, tons of natural light, and lots of beautiful details everywhere you look. The front patio is perfect for people watching or just enjoying some fresh air, with lots of space between tables (no awkward eavesdropping here). Inside, the vibe is super chill. There were quite a few people working on laptops, but it didn't feel stuffy or too quiet ... just a comfortable, low-key buzz that makes you want to stay a while. I started off with an iced americano topped with strawberry cold foam. The foam itself was a little thicker than I expected (it was more "whipped cream" than "cold foam"), but honestly, it was delicious. I'd totally order it again. The flavor combination is chef's kiss. A little sweet, a little tangy, and it adds something fun to a classic drink. For food, I went all in on the Box Car Sandwich. If you love grilled cheese, you HAVE to try this. Oozy pepperjack and cheddar, crispy bacon, tomato, avocado, all sandwiched between slices of perfect sourdough. And the special sauce on the side? I could have eaten it with a spoon. I have no idea what's in it, but I want a bottle to take home. I can't wait to come back here and give their espresso martini a try, and their pepperoni swirl pastry looked 10/10.
