I am here on a Sunday, it's 1:30pm and they ran out of all "produce" - no veggies, no fruits, no bacon, no grits. The only thing I could order was anything that has eggs, cheese, toast, waffles, or pancakes. So I could just be creative and asked for an egg, sausage and cheese omelet with toast. Far cry from either the shrimp & grits or spinach & mushroom omelet I had wanted to order! Now it's not the staff's or cook's fault but this place is supposedly open until 6pm (per hours on Yelp) but I was told they close at 3pm; and they are out of almost all! I was even excited since I have dropped by a couple of times before and they were somehow closed on those days, even when Yelp hours show they're open! This turns out to be a quick anecdote of redemption - an experience that could easily be disappointing turned out to be great after all. The ambiance is good. Bright and clean inside. There is counter seating and some cushioned bench seating against the front entrance windows; and ample seating for about 25 to 30 people. There are 3 TV monitors turned on, one showing sports, another music videos and the third seems to be National Geographic or some nature show. The redemption part comes in where the cook whipped up a wonderful omelet (not overcooked and dry). The toast quite simple if you think about it, but it was cooked perfectly - right about of toast with the right amount of butter. Some places would have either burnt the toast or put too much butter it becomes soggy. Oh and I need to tell you, the wait staff washed her hands every time she touched the plate - before serving and before taking the plate away...so much more health conscious and responsible than most restaurants where wait staff don't wash their hands bringing food to the table, taking dirty plates away, cleaning the tables, putting things away... When it came time to pay, I was charged only $5 - for the inconvenience of not having all the ingredients for all their other menu items - now THAT is great public relations! read more

Finding a good lunch spot in Virginia Beach for Restaurant week was an epic fail! All the restaurants that we wanted to visit only offered dinner. My girlfriend and I were absolute famished and she casually recommended to get some appetizers and cocktails at We Care Salon.. I will admit I was a bit skeptical yet curious! I have heard great things about this Salon/ Cafe and even listed them on my, "Must Try" Local Yelp Elite adventures. My original hang up was trying to wrap my mind about hair being around food.... LOL but, my good friend knows I am a bit of a Foodie Snob and I knew she wouldn't lead me astray. We pull up to We Care Salon Cafe and I immediately see that there is ample parking in the shopping complex. Easy access is a must! My GF informed me that the salon is on one side and right next door is the Cafe. They do not connect to one another from the inside. One can access each separately from outside. Upon entering I am pleased with the color scheme and decor. We were promptly greeted by the staff and allowed to choose our preferred seating. Our waitress was Ivonne. She was very inviting, warm and had an awesome energetic personality. We were advised the menus are available online. Ivonne Recommended their signature We Care Salon Cafe tropical island cocktail and we were sold! We placed our orders for bone in wing with fries. Mild and Asian As we waited we enjoyed the ambience by singing along to old R&B hits and entering into toasts, cheers and chatter about life. These cocktails were really good, not only because it just happened to be happy hour from 2-4 but because the drinks were not overly sweet. We received our food in a timely manner and wings were good, I preferred the Asian. Fries were nice and crispy. Drinks were so yummy, we had another round‍. Initially our intent was to get a quick bite to hold us over until our dinner reservations but we had such a good time chatting it up with Ivonne that we stayed extra time.. Overall, I loved the customer service at this establishment. It was clean, had sanitizer at every table, drinks were delish, reasonably priced, great service and friendly environment. I've been here twice, both times with my mom. We came for the crab leg special and the crab legs came with hush puppies. The hush puppies were very good and the crab had a lot of meat. We also got butterfly shrimp with fries and an order of chili fries. They were out of chili, so boyfriend got bacon fries instead. The shrimp basket was supposed to have plain fries, but they came out with bacon and we did have to get the plain fries to come out. So, that was the only real mixup as mom and I don't eat pork, so boyfriend still ate the fries. The breading on the fried shrimp is phenomenal and full of flavor. The shrimp are also a great size and weren't overcooked. We Care has mimosa specials and flights. The atmosphere is very laid back and friendly. There weren't a lot of people inside, so we sat inside, but there is also outdoor seating. Mrs. Jemmalyn is a great host as well and speaks to all her customers. read more

This is a trendy newer restaurant in the area. Its a modern and comfortable atmosphere. They have a pool table and tvs. They also serve alcohol, which is great if you like mimosas with brunch. Big plus!!! Upon entering i was greeted by the staff. Everyone was very nice, including the owner. She came out and talked to me and made me feel very welcomed. She is very business minded and i like her ideas. I ordered a togo order of Chicken cheesesteak, side salad, and fries. Which was about $14. Everything looked delish. The cheesesteak was seasoned, which i most definitely appreciated. It had a good amount of meat in it, and i enjoyed it. The cheese fries were ok. I'd prefer a creamy cheese sauce versus shredded cheese, because the cheese got tough by the time i got home to eat it. But the fries were fine. The salad looked very fresh and it came with chipolte ranch. It was yummy!!! I sincerely wanted that piece of chocolate cake. It looked good, but it was $5 and i couldn't bring myself to do it. Most restaurants sell cakes that have several layers that are bigger slices for $6-8, so i can't see spending over $3.50 for the cake they had. But i know its gonna keep me curious until i try it. Lol. I have a serious sweet tooth. Dang it!!! I would definitely return to try other items on the menu. Its in a good location and customer service is good. A nice place to hang out at for a quick bite, and it was very clean. They even have a selfie station. Now thats cool!! The menu offers several options, your sure to find something good to eat. The owner has lots of ideas so i think their menu will be expanding soon. All in all i think this will be a new spot for me. Check them out... Get your hair done and eat if you want because there's also a salon. I almost forgot to mention. The short cuts pics that they have on the wall is fire! I think they do good work. Cafe: Food, Ambiance, Service is an overall Outstanding. The areas are cleaned and sanitized as well as decorated so articulable. The menu is wonderful as it included both brunch and lunch style options. I usually get the steak Philly, because it's meaty, seasoned well, and delicious. It's Chef Candy for me (a Culinary Extraordinaire and Ambassador of food, Family and Professional Chef with her own style and experience) and my Fav Sudsy Rob in the back handling business and maintains the spaces well as well as always has great recommendations when you are a regular foodie here. The entire staff and management are very professional and kind. Scharlette is also a great server and staff member who is very helpful and efficient. I just love everyone there. It feels like you are "at home," but in someone else's upscale home as a guest. Just feels amazing. Salon: Professional and QUITE knowledgeable about hair and healthy hair, skin, and products. I went in with superbond hair glue stuck to some cheap weave and left with a bouncy and healthy finish. I was treated so kindly and offered complimentary snacks and refreshments. Lateshie was head of the salon when I went and a minimum of 2 hair dressers evaluated me and let me feel like I was really being cared for, not just spending monies. read more

Came here for breakfast with one of my good girlfriends. This place is small yet intimate. In the shopping complex there is a we care salon and spa and you can easily become mislead thinking the cafe is inside.. but no, i had to get redirected to the further left of the complex near sal's pizza and behind rib city..in order to find this place. This place is a hidden gem that I myself wouldn't expect to have visited. I love the interior decor, clean, tvs on the wall, pool table and nice seating. This place had been around for the past 6 months. Our waitress was so sweet and accomdates us every second. She even gave us a run down on the menu and. that they even serve breakfast all day. The food was beautifully prepared. I got the chicken and waffles! It was delicious! My friend loved it so well that she placed a reservation for her husbands promotion party. Wecare cafe was delicious! The atmosphere is very nice and welcoming, along with the staff who works there and had great customer service. I ordered the chicken salad sandwich with fries and it was sooo good! After finishing my sandwich I had to place an order for more to-go. They also informed me that they have a hot food line that changes each day. The day I went in there they had baked ziti with a side salad and garlic bread, I got some to go for my mom and dad and they both ate all of it and said it was so good! This is an unassumingly great restaurant. It's a place that has a massive selection everyone can choose from yet all of the food looks and tastes great! I had the lumpia and pancit, but by the looks of it, it's the kind of place that I could also have a cheeseburger and it would be just as tasty and as high quality as the next dish. My friends and I wanted to support this black owned business and thought it would be worth the wait. The inside was clean and there was good music playing however there is a giant pool table that obstructs the walk way. It's awkward and unnecessary. They seem to be understaffed and maybe it's due to the coronavirus but we tried to remain as Patient as possible. We waited close to 2 hours to get our food!! We were seated only to be served water it would be another 15 minutes before the waitress offered to take our order and drinks. It was another 15 -20 minutes before the drinks arrived. We sat and watched other diners who had been seated much longer wait lengthy times to get their food .This is unsatisfactory,and unfortunately I will not be returning. read more
