What an amazing find in Va. Beach. Good was excellent, quick and great service!!!! It was convenient and had plenty of parking

The Brick House Diner is located in the Providence Square Shopping Center in Virginia Beach. This shopping center is accessible from both Providence Rd. and Kempsville Rd. I have had a few visits here now, and the most recent visit was on January 12, 2026. At the beginning of each new year, I like to try a place that I have never been to before, so January 1, 2026, was the first time I had come here. My mom was with me. Depending on when you come in general, parking can be limited at times with all the other businesses in this shopping center. Upon first look at the place from the outside, you can see the name and logo pretty easily. It looks similar to other places that happen to be in this same shopping center. We got here around 8 am on that first visit. When we came inside, it wasn't too busy yet, likely due to others probably still sleeping after being up past midnight for the new year. The inside of the place has a modern diner type of vibe, which fits the restaurant well. We were greeted and seated immediately. Our server Brooke came over pretty quickly and asked us what we would like to drink. I just do my usual of water with lemon, and my mom had gotten coffee. It would take us a little while to choose since there lots of good items to choose from. When she came back to check again, we were ready this time. I figured I'd get something I don't normally do, so I went for the French Toast Combo with scrambled eggs, bacon, and baked apples. My mom decided to go with the Ultimate Skillet with rye toast. The food would come out pretty quick. It was around ten minutes or so. Both breakfast entrees looked really good and they were hot. It felt like an indulgence when I started on the French toast since it has been a long time since having it. The baked apples were great too, and something else I don't normally have. I will note that I didn't get a blood sugar spike after this meal either that day. My mom enjoyed the Ultimate Skillet as much as I did with the French Toast Combo. After the experience from that first visit, we came back to try the lunch/dinner menu options for dinner that day. This visit was on January 12, 2026. After being seated initially, we moved over to a table since the booths were a bit tight. Kellie was our server on this visit. She asked us what we wanted to have to drink, and I went with water with lemon and my mom went with a coke. After taking some time to look over the menu, we were ready to order. My mom decided not to have too much, so she just went with the Loaded Baked Potato side item. I decided to try the Chipotle Chicken Ciabatta Sandwich with the homemade chips as the side. Just like the last time, it took about ten minutes or so for the food to come out. The sandwich I had was really good, and so were the homemade chips. This time, this meal did spike my blood sugar levels, but it was so good. My mom told me afterwards that the loaded baked potato she had come out cold. It was then that we let the server know, and she asked if she wanted to get it redone. She said no but wanted to take it home instead. The server did take off the cost of that item. It was likely due to it sitting before my sandwich was ready to bring them out together. Mom did get a box to bring it home and had it later that evening, and she said it was good when it was heated up at home too. Overall, we have had a few very good experiences here. The food and service were good, and the issue for my mom was handled well too. That shows they truly care about the experience of the visitors here. Both menus may be just two sides, but there is quite a bit to choose from. I think anyone would find something they would like here. There is one thing I want to note when it comes to paying. There is a 3% surcharge added to the total including taxes if you use a credit card instead of cash. In the end, if you are looking for a diner type of place, this one is worth checking out. read more

Stopped by on a Saturday morning. Busy. But somehow, the brunch gods smiled upon us, and we got seated right away. The place is cozy and well lit. A nice board of specials and a dangerously tempting cocktail menu greeted us--because nothing says "good morning" like a little booze. The menu? Loaded. Tons of build-your-own options for eggs and combos, which meant I could pretend I was making responsible choices while still indulging. I went for the protein omelette (because gains) and blueberry pancakes (because balance). Shockingly, the omelette slapped- fluffy, flavorful, and didn't taste like punishment. The pancakes? Absolute perfection, like a warm hug from a carb-loving grandma. And let's talk about the Sunrise Mimosa. Just the right amount of booze, enough to take the edge off the week but not enough to make bad decisions. Final verdict: If you're looking for a brunch spot that caters to both your inner gym rat and your weekend indulgences, this place delivers. Would I come back? Absolutely. When I am in the area in the morning I always stop by the Brick House Diner as I did this morning, Tuesday, June 23, 2026 for breakfast. This will be my last visit. My wife and I ordered omelets which were so-so quality and served cold. The troublesome part was when the waitress served the omelets she told us the toast was not ready but would be out shortly. Halfway through our breakfast my wife got up to find the waitress and ask where our toast was. The waitress said she would check. The waitress appeared a few minutes later with two orders of blackened toast, and I don't mean over toasted, I mean burnt. We refused to accept the burnt toast. When we had 3-4 bites of our breakfast left she appeared again with acceptable toast. Poor service, cold omelets and burnt toast. Our last visit to Brick House Diner. read more

An early Saturday evening, and it was pretty good. The service was okay, but the server wasn't particularly kind. The food was good. The burger was cooked all the way through, just as I ordered, which was notable and appreciated. The milkshake was good too. I had the Cookies and Cream. There was no section on the menu for drinks. They certainly promote their alcoholic beverages, but not their soft drinks. I had to ask what kind they had. That's never happened before. I would suggest putting those on the menu as it makes no sense not to. The interior seemed fairly clean. They played mostly country music, which i thought was odd. I'd definitely go back and try some more stuff as the menu was really big! Lots of options and a decent variety. It was actually hard to choose what to get, but if it's good, I don't mind because I will just try other things next time I visit. read more

I had the pleasure of having breakfast at the Brick House Diner this morning for the first time. This was the first time I've been to the restaurant, and I was thoroughly impressed by the food, the weight staff, and the overall feel of the restaurant. Their portion sizes were absolutely amazing for the price and their staff was extremely friendly. The interior felt rustic, but modern at the same time. I would highly recommend going to this restaurant, and as this was my first time that I had ever been, I'm even now more curious to see what their lunch and dinner options are like. The caption that I shared in the picture explains what I ordered however, they have many other foods, so much so that their breakfast menu was front and back alone. I've been interested in trying this place so my friend invited me and said I needed to try it so that was two confirmations lol. Very clean and well maintained on the inside and outside, staff was great and so was our waitress. I would say the only issue I had was the eggplant was cold other than that. Herd this place is pretty awesome! So I had to try mostly cause I'm all about breakfast. The inside decor clean and modern. The service was great. I ordered the "BHD Crab Benedict " and it was the bomb! Most places do not auto add tomatoes and spinach, but this place does. And no skimping here. Just look at my pic. I always have the hollandaise sauce on the side, cause I like to add my own amount of sauce.Home fries also tasty! Also side of bacon and they gave about 5 strips most places only give you 3. The food is good. Not great but good. The interior is very nice and clean. The service on the other hand is hit or miss. I was here on a Monday @ 10am. They are not busy especially for the amount of staff they have here. My food was delivered to me fast. Ok great. But the waitress dropped off the food and never came back to check on my party. Oh and it was a party of 2. I got toast with my breakfast and you didn't bring me jelly or stop back to check to know I'd like jelly. My coffee was then left to sit empty for half my meal. The only reason they are getting two stars is because the food was good. Then when I'm done eating you bring me the bill. Never was asked if we wanted anything else. Just dropped the bill and walked away. Then 1 minute later you're coming to ask if you're ready for me to pay. No, no I'm not. You paid more attention to me to get money than to provide service. This restaurant is not far from me and it's been on my list as a place I need to try for breakfast. So I finally decided to go and give it a try! Was greeted immediately by a friendly hostess. There was no wait I assumed I missed the breakfast rush because I got there around 10:30am! I asked the waitress what does she recommend the French toast or pancakes she informed me that the french toast is really good and very popular. So I decided to give it a try with a side of home fries. The French toast was your typical French toast nothing fancy, no complaints. The home fries were okay a little undercooked but good in flavor. I would definitely go back and would definitely recommend. I might have to try lunch there. By the way they had what appeared to be delicious looking cake. My other half and I went to breakfast Monday morning which is was a nice rare treat. He chose Brick House on Providence. We were seated right away. Our server was Melissa. She had the best personality from the moment we were seated. He ordered a combo with scrambled eggs, 1 sausage link, one piece of ham, 2 slices of bacon, grits, and a piece of Rye bread. I got a bacon and cheese omelet, home fries (the good kind with real potatoes cooked in bacon grease), and a slice of wheat toast. We both enjoyed our meals. Everything was cooked to order and delivered quickly. We had some good quick funny chats back and forth with Melissa. She definitely made breakfast an even better experience. Oh we actually took home leftovers. It is a good place to visit with: plenty of options, quick service, comfortable seating, not crazy loud like many places, and good parking. read more

Came here with family for lunch. They tell me that it is always busy when they come for food. We all ordered a ham and turkey sandwich on ciabatta with potato salad instead of fries. The sandwiches were hot and tasty, with perfectly crusty ciabatta. The potato salad was delicious and well seasoned. The sweet tea perfectly southern style and not at all overbrewed. I did grab a slice of German chocolate cake. The icing was light on the shreds of coconut and nuts, it was OK but left a little something to be desired. It could get a little on the loud side- not terrible, but you can tell it is busy and packed. You can converse with your table, despite the background chatter. Service and ambiance is all you feel good about at the Brickhouse Diner. Be warned the breakfast menu is well beyond subpar, it was tasteless. To add insult to injury, the manager stated that they don't use seasoning. I ordered grits that were beyond tasteless and substitute them with baked apples that were clearly right out a can, no baked apples or seasoned. The manager suggested they bring me some cinnamon. Not once did the manager apologize. Why would I want to season my own food when I am paying for it. IHOP and First Watch will be my next breakfast spot. That manager showed she knew nothing about service, let alone customer service. read more

Brick House Diner is a hole in the wall restaurant that serves a variety of American fare food. I have been going here for the last two years now and no matter what I order it's been hot fresh, and consistent. The inside is so cute, clean, and modern. I haven't come across a server that wasn't quick, efficient, and friendly! They are all very sweet! Onto the food menu, it is pretty extensive. Lots of choices, but have yet to come across an item that isn't exceptional. Husband, children, friends, as well as myself love all the food options! My kids love the chicken tenders and fries, and I have tried everything from burgers, to sandwiches, to salads, to loaded fries, tots, nachos, and ribeye steak! The Burgers are perfectly made and the Pattie's seem to be made in house. They are juicy but not compacted. Ribeye was really good especially for a diner. It was medium rare and juicy with great flavor. Oh and the onion rings are excellent. Crunchy, hot fresh, and well seasoned. The fries are thin and crispy and are always hot and crunchy. The gyro sandwich, salad, or nachos are filled with all of the Greek flavors like feta, Kalamata olives, banana peppers, tatziki, lettuce, tomato, and onions. The tatziki sauce is well made and refreshing with cucumber and herbs. Our last two visits have been far removed from our first experience here @ Brick House. I am not sure if it's because we enjoyed lunch the first visit and breakfast on the last two, but I will definitely not give breakfast a 3rd strike. To start our meal, our pager was not working and we went at least 20 mins past the time we should have been seated. We sat right there by the host stand/kitchen and no one said a word about our long wait. We had to finally ask what was taking so long. Service was prompt and friendly, but on both recent visits, I was served raw egg whites (a recipe for illness). On this recent visit Sunday, the server tried to tell me what appeared to be raw egg white was melted cheese - I have never in my life seen feta cheese melt to the appearance of egg white. Sorry, that's BS. I returned it and declined a replacement option, but I kept my side pancake and apples as they were fine. What was most disappointing - when we were informed by the server that the meal would be taken off, they simply removed the meal and then charged for a side apples and side pancakes, which was almost as much as the omelet meal, without informing us. I would have been fine with it, but it was shady to not even mention it. No management apology or intervention. Will not return. read more

We had high hopes for this place as we see it's always busy and the menu looked good. It was ok. The service was not so good as our server seemed standoffish and forgot us a few times. The food was fine for breakfast after church. The portions were just enough to leave you satisfied. The quality was ok for a quick breakfast. We had a great first-time experience here this evening for dinner! Plenty of parking out front and we were seated right away. It was about 5pm on a Saturday and not overly busy. Our waitress was kind and attentive and others stopped by throughout the evening to clear plates or check on us; great staffing! We shared the loaded chips appetizer. Delicious, crispy homemade potato chips topped with cheese and bacon. It was real cheese and bacon, not those bacon bits out of a bag. Very yummy! I ordered the Smokehouse burger which comes topped with bacon, cheese, onion rings, and bbq sauce. I substituted sweet potato fries for my side. The burger was bigger than I expected and pretty good. It could have had better seasoning. The fries likewise were fresh and crispy, but not well seasoned. My husband ordered the Mac Attack Burger which had fried Mac n cheese bites on top. He enjoyed it. He described his regular fries on the side as "meh". It was a big serving but they were not particularly hot or salty. They have a great kids menu and the whole restaurant has a family friendly vibe. Can I eat here everyday? We had a wonderful brunch experience at BHD - from start to finish, everything was top notch. For my dining pleasure, I went with the country fried steak with a side of pancakes. Although I pretty much went with the first thing that I saw on the menu, BHD has a large breakfast/brunch menu so anyone will find something that they will like. The menu prices were pretty much in line with other places in the area. The icing on the (pan)cake was our waitress, Tierra. Hands down, she has been one of the best waitresses that we have encountered in the area. She was very friendly and pretty much on point with everything. Even though the restaurant was slammed, she checked in on us pretty frequently. Note: Since the restaurant closes at 2pm on Sundays and it's a popular place (probably because of the great food and awesome service), there might be a bit of a wait for a table. read more

Was going to be in the area, saw the good reviews and extensive menu and wanted to give this diner a try! First off they have a large menu with tons of sandwiches, Italian specials, salads, burgers and even a few Greek specials! My husband got the belly buster burger which has kielbasa along with an egg and he loved it! He subbed onion rings for the fries and he loved it. I was a little overwhelmed by all the choices and ended up with the plain Jane choice of chicken tenders with fries. The chi ken tenders were your run of the mill frozen ones restaurants can get from their supplier but were hot fresh from the fryer. The in-house fries could have been a little bit more crispy for my taste but still good. The chicken tender dinner came with a side salad and it was fresh and their ranch dressing is homemade and amazing! It's a good brunch meet up spot. My husband and I met up with my friend to try a place new to all of us. It did not disappoint! I went with the brickhouse big boy combo which consisted of a large Belgium waffle that had a distinct flavor of vanilla and was cooked with a crispy outer layer but soft on the inside. Just the way I like it! It was accompanied by a protein of choice, I opted for the sausage Pattie's which came with two, 2 eggs but I was able to substitute it for a side or non meat side. I went with the fruit. It also came with home fries S an option. Everything was delicious & came out relatively quickly. My husband had the hash & eggs served over a skillet of home fries & a choice of toast or pancakes. My husband went with the pancakes. My friend chose the croissant French toast which she thoroughly enjoyed. The waitresses were hustling & tables were cleaned in a quick fashion.
