Great experience overall! The service is mostly self-service, which makes everything easy and efficient. The environment is super quiet and comfortable perfect for bringing kids or using the space to co-work. Clean, relaxed, and well set up. I ordered the classic chicken sandwich and it was great the chicken was incredibly flavorful, juicy, and perfectly seasoned. Simple and satisfying, it really hit the spot. I also tried the pear refresher, which was light, refreshing, and a perfect complement to the meal. I'd absolutely order it again!

I've visited this HB location twice since mid-November and, to be honest, I'm not as enthusiastic with them as I used to be. When I used to visit Handsome Biscuit in Norfolk, it was almost an event to behold. I love their homemade sweet potato biscuits and was continuously impressed with how well they cooked their chicken. The gamechanger, for me, was their hash browns. Their hash browns were so good that I made it a point to grab at least two orders every time. That was a long time ago (i.e., pre-COVID), so I had no idea that they eventually phased them out. I was off on a rare weekday, and since I was in the area I decided to pick up a Hella Fitzgerald. Of course, because of my love for their hash browns, I was going to pick up 2 orders of that, but much to my chagrin I noticed that they only offered tots. Tots are fantastic, but I had my heart set on HB's hash browns. I went ahead and ordered the loaded tots, which were excellent, but they didn't wow me like their hash browns did. If HB is considering bringing their hash browns back, I'm all for it. Those things are so dang good that I'm okay with driving to VB just for those. HB took over the Tijuana Flats that was there for a little over a decade. The VB Handsome Biscuit is bigger, newer and more visually appealing than the Norfolk location. The Norfolk location has plenty of charm, but there were times when parking was an issue, and even if you were able to find parking, there's practically no inside seating. It became a turnoff during the winter months and any time the weather was undesirable. So I instantly prefer the VB Handsome Biscuit over the Norfolk one. The VB HB doesn't appear as busy as Norfolk's. When I came in on 11/25/24, I was the only customer there. They've modernized this location - they offer touchscreens to order (although I believe you can still order at the counter with a live person), which I used to check out any additions/subtractions to the menu. Since I mentioned it earlier, I went with their signature item, the Hella Fitzgerald (fried chicken with bacon, cheddar, and red eye pork sausage gravy). I added an egg to it, which made an already heavy entree even heavier. I'm not complaining since I love getting more for my dollar, but the chicken was actually overcooked. It was tough, dry and just didn't swim like their Fitzgerald normally does. I chalked it up to a simple off day, but I returned on 11/30/24, ordered a Stevie, and discovered another overcooked and dry chicken breast. Both sandwiches overall were still delicious, but if they're able to keep the chicken from getting overcooked, they will be on par with the Norfolk location. Based on my 2 visits, this Handsome Biscuit is a couple of tweaks from becoming a great spot. In the meantime, I'm leaning towards a 3 to 3.5 star effort. I will always think highly of Handsome Biscuit, but the VB location needs to keep a closer eye on their chicken... and bring back the hash browns! Thank you, Handsome Biscuit. You are still awesome! Dangerously good! You would assume that a place with 'biscuit' in the name has amazing biscuits. Confirmed. But the other magic happens with the chicken. Perfect crispiness and a unique seasoning blend that sets it apart from other places serving chicken biscuit sandwiches. We tried the breakfast wraps too,..which were addictive. The unexpected compliment to the experience was the side of tots. (Yes...really...the tots) perfectly cooked and lightly salted. Not sure if there was something else going on there...but no other side is required. Just the tots. Besides the food, the service was fast, friendly, and helpful. Tucked away near Thalia, Handsome Biscuit is easy to miss from the road, but absolutely worth the effort for breakfast and lunch!

I stopped in recently to the Town…read moreCenter location and grabbed the Northender sandwich for later that day and haven't stopped thinking about it since. It's loaded with honey smoked turkey, hardwood smoked bacon, Havarti, avocado, romaine, tomato, and basil mayo all on fresh French bread. Basically the perfect balance of savory, fresh, and just indulgent enough. Every bite hit. I also grabbed the Shakedown Street smoothie (banana, chocolate whey protein, peanut butter, and oat milk), and it was such a good call. It felt like a treat but still filling and energizing, especially if you're grabbing something on the go. Speaking of grab-and-go, that's one of my favorite parts about this place. There are so many options, whether you need a quick lunch, snacks for the week, or something easy to bring to a friend's house when they're hosting. It's the kind of spot that makes you look like you planned ahead, even if you didn't. Also worth mentioning: their wine selection is huge!! You could easily pop in just to pick up a bottle (or a few), and there's something for every taste and price point. And I have to shout out the pimento cheese. It is seriously so good. I could eat the entire container. Creamy, flavorful, and a must-try if you're browsing their prepared items. I usually go to the shore drive location, but I enjoyed this one as well. I will be back!

The sandwiches, salads and soups here never seem to miss! I walked in on a cold rainy day in high hopes of earning my spirits with a hearty bowl of soup. I couldn't decide between Brunswick Stew Stew and Chicken Pot Pir Soup. I was offered a sample of each! That made the decision even harder because they were both delicious. I opted for the Chicken Pot Pie soup because it is seasonal and the Brunswick Stew in on the daily menu. My soup came with a huge chunk of fresh bread and butter. You get the option between a French Baguette or Multigrain. I chose the Baguette and it was a perfect addition to my soup. I reccomend this fast food restaurant if you are looking for a healthy, quality meal at a decent price

You order and pay via QR code right from the table, which is very efficient and honestly should be the standard everywhere at this point. I ordered the chicken tacos, fries, and a blackberry mojito. The drink was excellent. Really refreshing and well balanced. The tacos were good too, although I've had them here before and the chicken was noticeably a little dry this time, which isn't usually the case. Still good overall, just not quite at the level I've had here before. The fries were... fries. They did exactly what fries are supposed to do. Another plus: there's a water station near the kitchen where you can grab your own water whenever you want. Small thing, but convenient. The big issue for me was the live music. There was a band playing covers and they were decent, but it was unbelievably loud. Like "lean directly into the person next to you and yell your sentence twice" loud. If you're coming to drink beer and vibe with loud music, you'll probably love it. If you're hoping to have an actual conversation with the people you came with, it's a bit of a challenge. Overall still a solid spot for drinks and casual food, but next time I might check if there's a live band scheduled before I go.

Coming in while heading northbound is easier than if you were coming in the southbound direction. One thing I noticed is that parking can get limited here when there are lots of visitors to this shopping center. My visit here was on April 17, 2026. The first thing I noticed was parking. Although this is in a shopping center, parking can be hard to find at times, especially during peak times. I was able to find one on this visit, but there wasn't much available. The Yellow signage for the name of the business on the outside helps see it pretty quickly. When my mom and I came inside, it was already busy. There was a wait to get a table, but I wasn't totally surprised at that. It would take about 15 minutes to get a table. Once we got to the table, we had a chance to look over the menu for a moment before the server came around and asked for our drink orders. Water came to the table at that time too. I decided to try their Bloody Mary for a drink and my mom did a Pepsi. The Pepsi comes in a can. I want to note that they have vegan options on their menu, so that adds to the amount of items to choose from. They have a pretty big menu covering both breakfast and lunch options. After having some time to look over the menu, we were finally ready to order. I don't do French Toast too often, so I decided to do the French Toast Meal with scrambled eggs and bacon (crispy). My mom decided to go with the Veggie Egg Scrambler, adding cheese to it. She got white toast and bacon as the sides to go with it. While waiting for the food to come, I tried the Bloody Mary. It was in a tall thin glass. The Bloody Mary was good. After about ten minutes or so, the food came out to the table and it looked really good. The server brought over syrup for my French Toast, but I told her I didn't need it, as I don't normally do lots of sugary items. As we started eating, the food was definitely hot, which is great as it came out pretty much when it was done from the kitchen. The French Toast was really good and it was a great indulgence for me. The eggs and bacon were really good too. My mom liked the Veggie Egg Scrambler too. The only minor issue was that the salt dispenser was low on salt, so it was primarily just the rice at the bottom to keep the salt from binding together. Overall, this was a great first experience outside of events. Even though it was packed, the servers were on point to check things along the way. It was only towards the end where I didn't get a chance to catch them about the salt shaker, but I did let them know when we were headed out. Prices are quite reasonable for the amount of food you get, and there was no surcharge if you use a card of some sort instead of cash to pay. If you're looking for a great locally owned breakfast/brunch/lunch spot in that area of the city, this place is worth checking out.

The ordering was overly confusing on DoorDash, charging for each and every topping and condiments. So my husband suggested I call the order in and he'd pick it up. Upon answering the phone the restaurant team member informed me they were pretty backed up and it would be approximately 45 minutes until pickup time. As I began to order something told me to just hang up the phone, I now wish I would have. We ordered a half buffalo chicken hero, for me, a whole super cheesesteak hero for my husband and a personal pepperoni pizza for our son + 2 orders of fries. The chicken on my hero was literally microwave chicken nuggets! I had two small nuggets cut into little pieces on my sandwich. Please see the pictures. My hero was mainly bread and lettuce. It was also mushy and looked nothing like the buffalo chicken sandwich advertised. My husband's Philly was soggy and not appetizing. It's very unsettling to receive food that looks like it may cause you to feel sick. Our son's pizza looked like a frozen pizza. Cheese similar to what kids get on their school grade pizzas. Yuck. Over priced microwave food is exactly what we received. This place is a rip off and should update their menu advertisement photos asap. Fraudulent marketing is not ok. We spent $50 on two subs and a small pizza. We should have just made peanut butter and jelly sandwiches and called it a night. At least that way we would know our stomachs would be ok in a few hours. I decided to trash my meal because I found hair in my sandwich. The fries were old and cold, you could tell they had been sitting for some time, as the subs were still hot. Just totally ridiculous, super extreme heros, they were NOT. My husband did say the restaurant location was cool. Seemed clean. Was not busy like the lady on the phone said it was.
