I came in for breakfast early on a weekday morning and they were quite busy. I sat at the bar where Melloni helped me out... She was very pleasant and helpful, offering great service! She offered me some really nice suggestions, offered prompt service, and kept my coffee hot! I tried their breakfast chimichanga which is a very interesting and unique breakfast entrée. And since they offered sausage gravy, I ordered a side biscuit with a small side of sausage gravy, as I enjoy trying this when it's on a menu. The food came out rather quickly and looked amazing! The sausage gravy was very nice, the biscuit was great. The chimichanga was excellent and HUGE!! I liked the crema on top of it, but I really liked their selection of hot sauces, with their house-made "gator sauce" being my favorite. This place looks so unassuming from the outside, but baby they have some of the best grits I've eaten since moving to Virginia! Whoever is on grits give them a raise. I could never catch this place open because they close early, but I finally got in and was impressed by the food I ordered for takeout. They have Early Bird specials so check them out...I asked my nice server Bella about the $6.99 Early Bird specials, she said there were none except what was written on the menu...what happened ? My second visit I dined in, the server was attentive, but I seemed a bit by the s every after I was done with my pancakes.... It does get noisy because of the echoes, but it's tolerable... Was looking for someplace different while in the area and after looking at the pictures and reviews on Yelp decided we had to try here. Went on a Thursday morning and it wasn't super crowded and we were able to seat ourselves right away. A little while later we noticed that customers were left waiting at the door until a table was cleaned (it appears the servers also bus tables). We didn't have to wait very long for our server to appear and take our order. I had the cinnamon french toast with scrambled eggs and hash browns - everything was delicious! Hubby had the country fried steak which was fantastic with fried eggs, sausage links, breakfast potatoes and sourdough toast. We also shared a side order of corned beef hash and it was the best corned beef hash we ever had - just wow! We went back on a Sunday for breakfast and again we were seated promptly even on a busy morning. This time I had the banana bread french toast with fried eggs, bacon and hash browns - I had no idea that the pieces of banana bread would be so large (it didn't look that large in the pictures!) that I had to take most of it to go. It was very decadent (it was a bit dry) and while it was very good it was a dark banana bread which I didn't realize. I should have asked for maple syrup. I ordered a cheese steak with fries and buffalo cauliflower. The cheese steak meat was tender. The flavor was good, and I'd get it again. The buffalo cauliflower were a little on the spicy side, but they were good to. They come with ranch. The customer service was good and the restaurant was clean. There's plenty of parking out front. After checking in, you'll wait in your car and receive a text message when your table is ready, which actually makes the wait much more comfortable. The French toast was soft yet the edges were not soggy. The coffee tasted good and you get free refills. My friend ordered the mimosa flight and said it was good. The long wait time was expected on a busy Sunday morning, but it still seemed longer than it should have been. The service was disappointing. I was never offered a drink refill, part of my order never arrived even after it was acknowledged as missing, and it took a long time to get the check--or any service, really. Staff seemed more focused on rearranging tables and moving already seated guests to accommodate a large incoming party than helping the customers who were already seated. To end an already frustrating breakfast, after I asked for a box, my server acknowledged the request and then immediately cleared my plate anyway. I recently moved to the VA. Beach area and I've been on the hunt during my Doordashing for my new "goto" spots. I've picked up and delivered 2x and both times this establishment was brimming with activity, so I decided, I needed to pay a visit. The Egg Bistro has definitely made the cut!!! I asked the waiter Jay, if he would encourage the cook to put his whole foot in my corned beef hash, let me tell you something, that cook broke off a leg with the foot attached!!! The fresh corned beef first passed the test because it wasn't canned, and second because it was cooked with onion and served like someone in the kitchen cared!!! Jay gave impeccably impressive service, I'm hoping he becomes a manager sometime soon because his customer service skills and attention to detail were on point. Today I had the Don and I selected scrambled eggs, apple wood bacon, shredded hash browns and butter grilled Sourdough bread. It came out quick for the number of folks who were being served -- impressive. I sat at the bar this morning and *Jamie* greeted me with a warm smile and hot cup of coffee. She was kind and attentive to everyone seated at the bar and made sure my coffee cup was full, and that I was enjoying my meal and experience. This was awesome. Ask for Jamie. The gal tending bar was stepping in as a great team mate. Those two know what they are doing. We spoke briefly and it was a pleasure. The cooks of the line that you can see were on it. Super busy place! The food took a little bit, but they were hoppin'. Worth the wait! It was delicious!!! My sister and I split sweet and savory. The BLT normally comes with eggs on top, but we got them on the side. So delicious and fresh. The pumpkin pancakes.... Oh my gosh. Amazing!
