Super cute shop! Love the local art work. Staff was very kind and offered us samples while we were making our order decisions. Green teas were delicious!

I've had this place on my list for a while now, and decided to swing by for lunch after a workout class. It was a Sunday around 12:30 and decently busy inside, but no wait! I ordered a pumpkin spice latte that was delicious, and their lunch special which includes a half sandwich, cup of soup, and a side. The soups and sides rotate daily! Today it was chicken noodle and a pasta caprese salad. The soup was okay, a little heavy on the thyme and light on the salt, but still pretty good. I really enjoyed the B.L.A.T with dill mayo. Inside was cosy, nothing special but has a very hometown vibe to it with (of course) lots of local art. Will return and try the pastries next time--they seemed to be out of a lot, but I won't fault them for that on a Sunday!

The team is sooooo kind here. Plates are bountiful with food and they have so many flavor options for coffee drinks. Service is quick too! Such a cute cafe!

Well. I was not impressed. I was a little disappointed. First, the staff did a fine job. Very friendly and knew the menu. The place is not super big, but they host parties and special events. They sell jewelry and stuff. I don't know if the artists are local, but probably. I'm not opposed to a restaurant that also sells jewelry, but I go for the food. The menu is not super extensive, but they have some variety. I went for brunch and ordered the biscuits and gravy. The sausage was bland, and the gravy was thin. Also, the gravy looked to be separating. The biscuits were nothing special, but the gravy and the sausage were not good, as is said, bland. I don't think I would go back.

Love the cute decore outside and inside very artistic! The waitress we're very nice and very attentive, but my dish I feels the dish over priced. I ordered the French scramble it was tasty, but could have added 1 more egg for the price you pay $13.50. You can't tell from the pic cause it's spread out. Other then that not to bad.

Overall it was okay. It was nicely decorated inside. We parked on the street. They do have outside tables too. Service was fine and food was fine. It is not on my list to go back but I wouldn't be opposed to going here again either. My friend got the vegan hash not pictured and it looked more like a salad than a hash. The thing that surprised me is the burrito was just a burrito: no salsa, sour cream or a side. A side of potatoes, fruit, or salad would be nice. It just needed more. The $5 peach mimosa was fine. I'd prefer if the juice was made in house. I think everything could just be a little bit more.

Starving Artist is a great brunch place in the ODU area. I tried the breakfast bowl that consisted of scrambled eggs, potatoes, spinach and Turkey sausage. However, you can build your own to your liking. Despite it being almost a full house, the food was served pretty quickly and our server check on us quite often. I must say, I was still left hungry after eating my dish that I ended up ordering their croissant French Toast. It exceeded my expectations and it's something I must have when I come back. The texture was perfect, where there was decent crunch and not too soft/soggy after applying syrup. The taste balance between the croissant and the toast was amazing. As an artist I do like that they actually have local art up for display and purchase. There's a duality of supporting local businesses within the establishment. The only negative I have, is that they were out of oatmilk. Other than that I highly suggest Starving Artist if you're in the area and looking for a good place to eat!

Vegan Sausage "Hash"

Small and cute in atmosphere with a decent amount of seating given its size. Staff was friendly. I ordered a mimosa ($5= awesome price). I ate the Vegan Sausage "hash" which was really a salad, an overpriced salad for the small size that it was. My friends both got the Starving Artist Burritos. Both underwhelmed. All three of us left as Unsatisfied Artists.

Brunch is the best! I don't do brunch often but this place had a fancy vibe to it. It had a bar and the music was nice. The service was awesome and friendly, they serve fresh OJ and refilled my water without asking which is a plus. I'd like to come back The menu isn't extensive but just enough for the size of the establishment Love their storebrand hotsauce. It wasn't so hot, just enough spice to notice what I was eating.

Cute place for brunch. I was in the area & decided to stop for brunch. The name of the restaurant lured me in. I parallel parked on the side street, but I also saw a parking lot. I'm not sure if the parking lot was meant for the restaurant or not. I noticed there was art work(paintings) on the wall with sale prices. Pretty dope that you could purchase a painting to take home if you liked it. I was seated immediately. I ordered eggs Benedict, 1 chocolate chip pancake, orange juice, & a matcha latte. Took 25minutes for my food to come out. I don't know maybe it's because I ordered Benedict? The table next to me ordered breakfast burritos and their food came out fairly quick.

This location has a smaller menu, but an experienced staff to recommend a good array of flavors within their drink choices. My significant other and I ordered: The Peaches seasonal latte: The freshness of the fruit shines through without overpowering the coffee. Brown Sugar Cinnamon latte: Every note balances each other out with minimal sweetness and an exaggerated flavor. I can confidently say this is one of the FEW places i've ever gotten coffee. Another customer in line even asked us if we've been before and told us about the fun latte flavors. My mom and I ordered a cold brew each, and it was my mom's favorite cold brew she's ever had! It was good, but it was interesting because near the end of our cups, we tried each others' drinks just for the sake of things, and they tasted different - mine tasted less coffee, whereas my mom's drink had a was stronger coffee flavor. Maybe they were from different batches? Nevertheless, cold brews were great and I would order again. Like other coffee roasters in the area, if you buy a bag of beans, you get a complimentary cold brew, coffee, latte (?)! I was tempted to purchase a bag but they are so popular and only had 1 type of bean left that I don't prefer - heh, I warned that I'm a coffee snob. Would definitely go again/ask family to purchase beans for us out of towners.
