My friends & I love this place! The food is amazing & at a great price - if you like banh mi sandwiches you should check this place out, the bread & sauce they use is different than what I have tried anywhere else! They have amazing fries, fried chicken, and noodle bowls. I love the indoor atmosphere, the lighting is great, there is a good amount of tables making it good for groups. One thing - I have not been able to do an online order which can be inconvenient at times. The full menu they have in person is not shown online. The only item you can order is sauces. It is a bit on the denser side and not the light-firm exterior with a soft interior seen in traditional Vietnamese sandwiches. The cold cut and this nuong I would say are quite good. The pate comes through and lines your mouth with every bite of the cold-cut sandwich. They use a different mayo than what I am used to in the Thit nuong but it is still good. I wanted to try this place for some time. The interior was very clean. And it's a self ordered place instead of a full service restaurant. I got there around 2:30 on Friday afternoon and there was no wait. The staff was friendly, I ordered pork skewer and the original fried chicken. The skewer came with a side salad which was nice. I have been looking to trying this place. Overall you get a really big portion for the price. Their wings are huge and banh mi has lots of meat inside. The manager or maybe owner was really nice. However, they need to up their flavor a little bit. The kimchi fried rice is very wet and tastes like mixed rice, not even fried/ stir-fried. For the banh mi, the baguette they use is very hard and thick. Combining with the lack of sauce and the fact that they didn't bake it before serving, it's super dry and hard. Luckily the roasted pork is good. The wings are the star for sure but needs more umaminess. The spicy one definitely needs more spice. read more

Was craving some korean fried chicken and decided to try this place out with my partner! It's a nice little spot on rainier with some seating inside. They serve a variety of items from a wide selection of banh mi, to fried chicken, skewers and much more for a pretty good price. We got two orders of spicy tteokbokki, an order of kimchi fried rice and a half order of their kkokio-yumyum wings. With a peach lemonade slush to cleanse the palate. The wings were definitely the best part of the meal since the crunch and flavor were all there, the tteokbokki was also quite flavorful but their rice cakes were quite huge. The kimchi fried rice was a bit smaller than expected, not necessarily sharing size but the taste made up for it. as for the peach slush it was a perfect little refresher since we murked it. rating it a 4/5 overall, it was a great experience with good food just with smaller portions. read more

This place is a cushion restaurant with Korean and Vietnamese food and drinks. Reasonably priced food, service was pretty good. Everyone seemed energetic and brought food to tables. I ordered the Kkoki special Banhmi and the Spicy tteokpoki. The banhmi was so good, they used multiple types of pork I think and the bread was perfect. The tteokpoki on the other hand was watery and the tteok they used was older and not spicy at all, but it wasn't too bad for the price. For drinks I ordered the Jasmine honey citron iced tea, it's like the korean style of tea my mom makes at home and they had fresh lemon and greens. I may come back after a few months to see if they needed time to figure things out since they just opened not too long ago. This is a Korean fried chicken place, but it had a Vietnamese deli vibe to it as well. Interesting.... This review is based only on the chicken side. Well, seasoning is non-existent. That's it for my review. Truly, the fried chicken was fried well, a bit on the dry end. But it had no flavor. Yes, I ordered the plain fried chicken, but it doesn't have to be that plain. I understand they have sauces and flavoring... but a fried chicken place should be able to do a basic plain fried chicken well and not hide behind a sauce. I took a photo of the fries as well. This was the first time I ever received fries without any salt. Why??? Ate 2 fries and gave the food to a locals outside. Eggrolls were good. It was warm, but I liked the flavor and it came with herbs. I wish the owners would see this and try out their food. If that's how it was intended to be served... hmmmmm. Where in Seattle would I go for Korean Fried Chicken: Gangnam Seattle and/or Pelicana. There you can eat the sauce-less chicken and taste flavor. Amazing food. Came here with some friends after going climbing and the portions did not disappoint. Two full size boneless meals with assorted flavors easily fed all five (with some to take home). And these are teenage boys who are all athletes - so a lot of appetite. Staff was a bit quiet - but all very nice. Brought us water and the works. Everyone I've taken to this restaurant has said this is the one of the best fried chicken they've had. One notable thing I learned is that the boneless option is chicken thighs rather than chicken breast so it's incredibly moist! When I'm not eating with friends I get the grilled pork banh mi. It's my favorite sandwich because of their curry aioli spread. The owner takes a lot of pride in his work and holds high standards for the quality of the food and atmosphere. The flavors of chicken offered are different from other places in the area. My group preferred the original and the snow flavors. Staff is friendly. Bathroom requires code on receipt. Service was great! The woman helping us gave us most of the sauces to try with our chicken and she was very polite. The food was also pretty good with a couple exceptions below. 1. The chicken was great!! Hands down... Really really good. It kept for a couple days, and even after air frying it, it was still great! 2. The sauces water really good and we enjoyed them. We got the spicy YumYum, Padak, and Kalbi i believe and all three were great. Not so great: 1. The TTEOKBOKKI... I actually came here for this so I was really disappointed. It was more like a thin soup vs traditional TTEOKBOKKI. This is the only place in Seattle where it has been this kind of bland/boring. 2. The prices are really high. We paid around $50 for 20 wings and a side TTEOKBOKKI. So it was really expensive and not really worth it for us. At least not for a larger amount of wings. Overall, it was a good experience. I ordered over the phone and was told a 15 minute wait around 5pm. When I got there the food was ready and I was in and out! There is a banh mi station inside as well. There's a couple tables inside if you want to eat there but when I came there wasn't anyone sitting inside Food: I got a half order of kkokio yum yum and half honey snow. Both flavors were delicious and the chicken was juicy. Drinks: I got the honey citron and peach italian soda. The citron was too minty for my own taste but the peach calpico was nice and sweet! I called the restaurant and they kept insisting with me that this was the crispy pork. I told them I do not see any crispy parts. They didn't know what I meant by crispy parts. Inside is super bright and spacious, with one counter for Vietnamese food and the other for Korean. The flavor of the kkokio yumyum was pretty good, I chose mild spice but I didn't really taste the spice so I'd suggest medium spice or higher. It wasn't as crispy as I'd hope on the outside. I enjoyed the beef bulgogi mandu a lot, but they didn't have soy sauce. The service was good. The lady who served our food was really kind and the seating area wasn't too big, but they serve it in a takeout box so you could always just eat it elsewhere. It was poorly made because the hot pepper slices were too thick and not spread out in the sandwich...same with the pickled items and especislly the pork. Every bite was like either all pork, pepper or pickled items. Last the crispy skin in the pork was not crispy but tough. I think they need to heat up the pork and slice it more thinly as it was chewy rather than crispy. We have a business near by and maybe this is why the staff has never ordered from here. This is a great eat in or takeout on Rainier - just south of Dearborn. Parking was so EASY (rare in the downtown-ish area) From the outside they looked closed except for the neon "open" sign. Very clean and organized inside. Service is very prompt and everyone was nice. We really enjoyed the fried chicken. Crispy but not greasy and the meat was very juicy and tender. Sauce flavors were good. We just did a side of regular fries with ranch. The fries were crispy on the outside (not greasy) and fluffy on the inside.
