After visiting their new location in Irvine I was curious to try this original location. Located within minutes of LA Fitness, I arrived just after the lunch hour during the week. Parking is abundantly available since it's located in a shared strip center. There's a sushi bar, but I opted to dine at a table with a view of the sushi bar where there were two itamae chefs. I opted for the sashimi lunch, which is served over sushi rice, and a spicy tuna hand roll. The lunch included hot tea and miso soup. The sashimi was solid with scallop, various cuts of sashimi, and uni. The service was prompt, but the waitress hostess staff was all business and could have been friendlier although she might have been overwhelmed, since she was seating patrons, taking orders and serving customers. Overall, it was an average lunch experience, although I preferred their new Irvine location, due to the friendlier service, better variety of sashimi and atmosphere.
The food was good. Sushi was fresh and prepared very well. The Uni was bland but creamy. The toro was very good but for the price, not sure I will order again. The service was ok but could be better. The ambiance was decent and clean. We drove from IE just to try. It wasn't disappointing but wouldn't want to eat here again unless I'm in the area already.

Besides the regulat menu, they have Kiyo Omakase for $198.00 , chef's special menu, daily special menu, and a lunch special special / combo. which the prices are affordable. We ordered a little bit of everything. - LIVE Uni - LIVE Sweet Shrimps ( Sashimi) - Kumamoto Oyster with Uni and Ikura ( Half Dozen) - Premium CHirashi Don, - Phoenix Roll , Tuna Lover Roll , Banzai Roll - Miso Chilean Seabass - Kobe Gyutan Ugh.... *drool* I still cannot get over the freshness of the Live shrimp, Oyster and the Uni. That was top quality I've had. This is my first time seeig a giant live uni and it was sill moving! Uni was so fresh, rich and creamy, melts instantly and the Amaeabi has such a delicate soft texture and instant sweet flavor. They will use the shrimp head to make soup at the end for you. I also enjoyed the Chisrashi and the Tuna lover Roll. The Miso Chilean Seabass was another favorite of mine. So buttery, sweet and flavorful. Overall everything was amazing. Service was great. I'd come back even just to have a quick lunch or future gathering with family and friends.

Plenty of parking. I'd be interested in coming back to try their lunch specials.
We had such a good dinner at Kiyo Japanese Cuisine in Arcadia! Their menu has SO much to choose from, which I loved because we were able to try a little bit of everything. We started with the live shrimp sashimi, which was super fresh and naturally sweet. We also had the shishito peppers, Tuna on Fire Roll, salmon carpaccio, mixed tempura, cold matcha soba, and lots of sushi and nigiri! The sweet potato tempura was sooo good, and I loved trying the cold matcha soba since I'm a huge matcha person. We ended with salmon, egg, and toro nigiri, and the toro was probably one of my favorite bites of the night because it was so soft and buttery. The staff was also really welcoming and attentive. Definitely a great spot to check out in Arcadia if you're craving Japanese food!
February 2026 - No wait, small place but yums food. Food/Pricing - Mentai Pasta $21.95 - creamy, slightly salty, small portion but surprisingly filling and enjoyable. Tempura Udon $17.95 - simple and soothing soup. Spider Roll $14 - soft shell crab inside was deliciously crunchy, very much enjoyed the roll. Service/Ambiance - Quick friendly service. Parking - Plenty of parking in the plaza.
Good service, easy to follow menu, and good quality fish! Ordered the premium chirashi bowl and some others. The fish was cut thick and ended up being super filling along with the rice. There wasn't any fishy smell to any of the fish and portions weren't lacking at all. The baked lobster roll and squid ended up taking awhile- we were almost finished with our other dishes by the time it came out. We arrived right at opening on Valentine's Day and it definitely filled up quick so come early especially on a weekend!
Kiyo used to be our go to spot for lunch. They still offer a lunch special menu. Now, we come as a special treat for dinner. The sushi is always fresh. They have pictures of their rolls and nigiris on their menu on an ipad. The ipad does not tell you the price, so be wary of that. My favorite thing from here is definitely their beef tongue. It's a must every time we come. The service is great, they're always attentive and come by to check on your during your meal. The seating at the bar is nice because you can watch the sushi chefs in action. They also have specials listed behind the sushi bar that isn't listed on their menu. I would recommend this place to friends and family.
Everything tasted so fresh n you can def taste the freshness n quality of their dishes. The live lobster was so live it was still moving lol tasted bomb. Sushi was so fresh n tofu soft n creamy. Wagyu was cooked to perfection was amazing. Pasta was just woww n matcha ice cream was so fancy served in wine glass. Service was friendly n parking is plenty in the plaza next to blaze pizza. Inside is nice n cozy.

The rice itself was a bit hard but overall it was a great price (same price on the weekend) and the bowl came out quickly - will be returning soon for lunch again
Yum sushi! I came during the lunch specials, and since the chirashi bowl was included, I had to try it. The sushi quality was decent, but the generous cuts of fish really stood out. It was pretty filling, especially after the complimentary miso soup. The Hokkaido uni was wonderfully creamy and fresh, loved it! The salmon carpaccio was also very good, especially with a bite of the sliced lemon. The tongue had great texture and flavor as well, another great dish!
Our family has been to Kiyo a handful of times, and it's become my favorite sushi place. Fish is sizable and fresh, prices are reasonable. We love that they do weekend lunch special, and we specifically come for that. The sushi lunch combo always includes generous, thick slices of fresh fish and a good variety. This last time, we even got a huge scallop nigiri in our combos! We also ordered a roll and an order of takoyaki to share this time around, and both hit the spot. Interior is classy, clean, and comfortable. Service can be a little slow depending on how busy it is (on a Saturday during lunch, our 3 sushi combos arrived like 15 minutes after my grandma's chicken udon), but that speaks to the made-to-order quality, so I'm not too bummed. Overall, as a sushi fanatic who doesn't like to break the bank each time we go out, this is my go-to and we'll be back every time we're in town.
My family has been going to kiyo for awhile! They used to have outdoor seating but are now inside only pretty much since the outdoor seating was mainly for Covid reasons. I would say it's half bar seating and half tables inside. They have some crazy fresh sushi here like their live sweet shrimp and uni. Their wagyu is a must as well and their oysters are so good!! I enjoy their chirashi as well. Service is great too.

It was a delightful dinner. This Japanese restaurant in Arcadia offers a relaxed, quiet atmosphere and a distinctive style, with superb service! Had such a great dinner at Kiyo Japanese Cuisine! Everything we ordered was fresh, beautifully presented, and full of flavor. The live sweet shrimp sashimi was a standout--so fresh and naturally sweet. The A5 wagyu sushi was incredibly tender, and the Kumamoto oysters with uni & ikura were a delicious combination. The premium chirashi don and miso Chilean sea bass were also highlights! The service was friendly and attentive, and our food came out at a good pace. The ambiance was cozy and intimate, making it a nice spot for a date night or special dinner. Had an awesome time here! Everything tasted fresh and of great quality. Love that you can use an ipad to order. The server was polite! Ordered: - Uni/Ikura Oyster - Cherry Stone Clams - Live Sweet Shrimp - A5 Wagyu Sushi - Salmon and Halibut Carpaccio - Tuna on Fire Roll - Phoenix Roll - Chirashi Don - Miso Chilean Seabass It's a quaint spot with an interactive sushi bar where the sushi chefs are friendly. This restaurant is chic and elegant with ultra fresh ingredients. The uni was one of the creamiest ever and I learned the term A+++ grade! Really enjoyed the lobster sashimi, which was a show stopping aesthetic. Definitely get the sushi plate. Everything was presented well. Chirashi lunch special- good deal, fresh fish and good portion of food. My family and I come here frequently for the lunch specials. For appetizers, we usually get the chicken karage and squid legs. This time we also shared the seafood udon noodles, which has a comforting and clean broth. Consistent and good quality of food here! read more

Let me just cut to the chase - 2 of my friends got food poisoning after our lunch here! One of them had a deep fried roll and the other had the lobster roll. According to them, their stomachs felt queasy. The one who had the deep fried roll had it worse (I won't go into details). I don't know what kind of sushi they serve here but I've never had friends experience such physical pain. Makes me feel soo bad for finding this place to eat after an outing together. To be fair, me and the other remaining friend were fine. But damn! First and last time coming here! read more

I love fresh and premium seafood bites, and this place was exactly that! The place feels modern but comfortable, and the staff were friendly and on point the whole time. Dishes came out at a good pace, and the service never felt rushed. Lobster Dynamite: Rich and creamy with a nice char on top. The lobster was tender and full of flavor. Mentai Pasta: Pasta cooked just right, coated in a creamy sauce. Comforting without being too heavy. Uni Gyutofu (Hokkaido): Smooth tofu paired with buttery uni. Did not feel heavy at all and was very fresh. Really unique and indulgent. A5 Wagyu (Sushi): This one melted instantly. The sear brought out the richness, and the rice balanced it perfectly. Premium Mix Sushi Set: Fresh, premium fish over crisp greens. Was very light, refreshing, and well put together. Grilled Kobe Beef Tongue: Smoky and tender with a little chew. Packed with flavor. Live Sweet Shrimp (Sashimi): Sweet and delicate, the shrimp were literally still moving when they brought the dish out! The fried shrimp heads added a crunchy bonus. Uni Pasta: Creamy, briny, and smooth. Came with a generous portion of uni. Everything I tried was fresh and well prepared. The mix of seafood, sushi, and hot dishes showed a lot of range. I've been loving SGV's sushi scene, there are so many places that parallel LA sushi but are much more affordable!!! @kiyoarcadia the fish here was sooo fresh, I love their chirashi bc the sushi rice is so perfect & tangy!!!! Their sashimi salad is also so refreshing and bomb, need to get this again!! The uni tofu was so unique, they use Santa Barbara Uni & it's sooo sweet and fresh. This is a must get! This is my second time coming here and I'm still obsessed The Kumamoto oyster with uni & ikura is a must. It's so fresh and flavorful! The lobster sashimi and lobster roll are always on point, and everything feels high-quality and beautifully presented. The staff is super friendly and welcoming, which makes the experience even better. Definitely coming back again! read more
Despite the mom & pops size of this restaurant, the sushi here is grand! Set in a cozy and slightly dimly lit space. Really nice bar set up. The sparkling grape cocktail was so refreshing. I've always been treated very well by the staff here as well. Everyone here has been so friendly & no rush. The food speaks for itself in the pictures for presentation. The quality of the seafood was excellent. Loved trying their seasonal dishes with my friends because we were able to get such a nice spread. The tuna rolls & baked lobster head were phenomenal. Love their cold noodles whether soba or mentaiko udon. The garlic on the kobe beef is a perfect finish for flavor and texture. Definitely looking forward to dining in here soon! read more

Okay. Time for an updated review. I've been sushi deprived for 9 months since I'm pregnant, and I demanded a chirashi bowl to be delivered to me as soon as I give birth. My parents helped us pick up a lunch chirashi bowl and lemme tell you - it did not disappoint. We paid lunch price on a Sunday, and got the chirashi bowl for ~$22. What a steal! Most other chirashi bowls at other restaurants are about 25-30 at this point. KIYO also did not miss on quality. The fish were all fresh and we're good, solid pieces. What i liked most was that they also had raw salmon, whereas some places offer more minced items or skip salmon altogether. Kiyo sushi lived up to my expectation for my first meal after delivery. Needless to say, I'll be coming back more often! read more

Tucked away in the Arcadia plaza is this hidden sushi spot! This is one of those places you always pass by and think about trying, but never get around to. The interior/ambiance has modern finishes with low light ambient lighting. Theres table and bar seating available and most of the staff speaks canto/mando. Here are some of my favorites: - Mental Pasta (super creamy and a good amount of uni) - Kumamoto Oysters (super fresh!!!) Lots of available parking -- head to YiFang in the same plaza after for dessert! read more
I visited Kiyo last night and was just BLOWN away by the options different dishes they served. I especially love that they are having a winter shabu shabu special (A5 Wagyu shabu for the cold nights), which I've never seen at a sushi spot. I got to get tons of seasonal dishes like lobster, oysters, fresh tuna from Japan (proven by a huge tuna head at the front haha), and their wagyu sushi. I think my favorite was the loaded chirashi don (FULL of delicious fresh fish) and tuna trio, followed by the shabu shabu. They also have super cute desserts (highly recommend the sake sorbet). Great service and a beautiful interior. Would absolutely come back! read more

Really enjoyed our dinner here! The sashimi was fresh and the portions were very generous. The chirashi don was probably my favorite -- lots of fresh, thick-cut fish. The sweet shrimp was also really good and super fresh. The uni and ikura oyster was loaded with toppings too. The place is a little small and gets busy during dinner, but overall we had a great experience and would definitely come back! read more
taste of Japan that feels like home As a HKer, I'm used to incredibly fresh Japanese ingredients flown in directly from Japan, so I'm quite particular about Japanese food. Recently, I found a Japanese restaurant in LA that truly impressed me -- the flavors and freshness brought back to the memories in Japan. It's rare to find this level of authenticity outside Japan, but this place nailed it. Short and sweet, Some highlights here: Premium Chirashi Don #魚生飯 The sashimi was incredibly fresh and buttery. The owner specially recommended the fish, which is flown in directly from Japan -- and it shows. Lobster Roll #龍蝦 #龍蝦卷 Beautifully presented with a whole chunk of lobster on top. What a hidden gem of a place! I really enjoyed it. The fish was probably one of the freshest I've had in this area. When the food came out i felt like i was fine dining~! The presentation was insane, so lovely and unique. The best dish was surprisingly the miso fish. It was melt in your mouth buttery(along with being buttered too LOL). I had the lunch special Chirashi and it totally blew me away. First, the bowl was huge, I was barely able to finish it! There was salmon, tuna, yellow tail, tamago, spicy tuna and spicy yellowtail (I think). There was more, but I can't remember. The fish was very fresh and the slices were thick. we came around saturday dinner time and got seated right away. we ordered the premium chirashi don and it was more than enough for 2 people. the fish was super fresh and the bowl even comes with uni! the rice compliments the fish perfectly. would definitely recommend here for their super fresh fish! read more

If you're looking for Sushi in Arcadia, I got you. This sushi restaurant serves delicious pieces of sushi and juicy salads but let's talk about their huge baked lobster roll. This roll was loaded with lobster, mushroom, imitation crab and all the sauces. They always have seasonal items as well, and this time it's Hotaru ika which is a firefly squid that is a delicacy in Japan. Of course I also had to order their tuna trio to try all 3 cuts of tuna, they were huge pieces! Fantastic meal with outstanding quality across every dish. The lobster sashimi was incredibly fresh and sweet, the uni and oyster combination was rich and perfectly balanced, and the Kagoshima Wagyu was tender, juicy, and cooked just right.
