Everything was the same and was nice like usual, but the service... no my bad one female non-asian waitress was one of the most condescending people I have ever met. I can accept the last call even though other locations are kind and give you a grace period. But "You have 15 minutes to eat"... What am I 5 years old??? Even though the choice of meats is not large, the quality of the beef (three options) is higher than most AYCE shabu-shabu restaurants at a similar price. They also have a decent array of vegetables and tofu products, and sauce options. They also offer a beef curry rice dish. The vegetables and sauce bar are all self-serve, so you'll need to head up and grab everything yourself. The biggest highlight is definitely the quality of the meat. Compared to a lot of other AYCE hot pot places, the meat here is noticeably better. It's well-marbled, tender, and delicious. The vegetables and other sides were fresh and good as well. I'd say the sauce bar is decent, I've been to plenty of other AYCE spots with a much larger selection, but this one gets the job done. Overall, the food is good, and I usually come here for special occasions. It's a little more expensive than other AYCE hot pot restaurants, but I think the higher-quality meat makes it worth the extra cost. I've been wanting to check out Momo for quite some time now, I keep reading good reviews on SGV Eats. I came across their 'Star Student' promo on Instagram and thought why not?! Both my teens are straight A students and they love shabu! We invited another family with us, who also has a star student of their own. I also love that they take online reservations, it's very convenient. We were a party of 8, 5 adults and 3 teens. We sat at two tables of 4, right next to each other. Went to moms on 7/29 during lunch time. Made reservations and everything went pretty fast and smooth. It was lunch time so the price were a lil cheaper which was great for how good the quality of meat is. We got sukiyaki and tonkatsu for our broth. Very good flavors! For our meat selection we really enjoyed beef chuck eye, beef eye round, korobuta pork shoulder and pork belly. Definitely went hella rounds and got our moneys worth and then some The farmers market had everything I wanted like, fish tofu, fish balls, fish balls w rows inside and more. Our server was pretty attentive and brought the meats out fast. Please note their tip starts at 18%. Ambiance was pretty good, with low chatters and spacious seats. Restroom was clean too. The veggie bar was adequate but did run out of items at times with no refills. They charge for drinks now except hot water, hot tea, and iced water (that comes from the soda fountain). We hadn't been here for a while so decided to try it out again with their Star Student promotion (which is a really nice offer!). We hadn't come back because our first visit felt very rushed and they didnt have ice & other items that day. This visit luckily was better with items being replenished pretty quickly or on request. Broths: We liked the Tonkatasu and Sukiyaki. I tried the the house, but it didn't have much flavor and I had to add some chili to it for more flavors. I drank more of the tonkatsu broth as a soup since it was so good. A little disappointed they dont offer a spicier soup base for spicy lovers. Meats: We liked the Short plate and chuck eye the best but all of them were good to eat. No issues on our meat orders, you just have the 5 or 6 options for regular menu. Our server was attentive and checked in for refilling our meats pretty timely. We were given last call about 30 minutes before time was supposed to be up. For the price, we felt there are many other places that offer more in the self service area with seafood options and other foods or drinks included. If you're just there for basic hot pot, then this will satisfy you if you don't care for those other items and it would be a 4*. What stands out to us is the elevated level of cleanliness, detail, product, utensils, food quality... the list goes on. This is my second time here. Quite disappointed. Food: Everything tasted fine. The meats were thicker cuts. The vegetable bar looked very unsanitary. Everything was easily mixed together. Mushrooms were in the cabbage bin, kale were found in the tofu bins etc. The curry + rice tasted good. The soups were okay, but they were definitely lacking flavor. While eating the meats, I found a piece of plastic buried within the cuts. It was pretty disturbing on top of everything else. Drinks: The sodas tasted fine. I tried the Tokyo melon and cola. Mo Mo Paradise has always been my favorite AYCE hotpot place in Southern California. I've been to a few different locations throughout Socal, yet surprisingly this was my first time at the Arcadia location. I was lucky enough to snag a same-day reservation at dinner time for a party of five. It gets busy so I always recommend getting a reservation online. Parking is easy. There is a parking structure behind the restaurant. There aren't any big signs pointing to it so keep an eye out for a side street opening into a small parking garage. As always, the soups are very flavorful and the meats are always tender and delicious. They allow you to select two soups per pot and I always get a sukiyaki. I love that it comes with poached raw eggs too. I always get the beefs and they always hit so good. My favorite is the wagyu beef curry. It is soooo good and I always get multiple plates of it. Now, the reason why I gave this place 3/5 stars today is unfortunately due to the service. I usually have such a great time at the other Mo Mo Paradise locations I have been to, but unfortunately I felt extremely rushed during this visit. For the majority of our visit, we had a great time. But when we ordered our third round of meats, we found out that we had missed our "Last Call" time and only had 10 minutes left to sit. Our server had unfortunately forgotten to tell us when our "Last Call" was and did not ask us if we wanted to order anything else. This was so disappointing, since I felt like we had barely ordered any meats at this point. Feels bad, especially considering we spent $250+ for this meal. They did give us ice cream, but during these last 10 minutes, the server kept coming to our table saying - "you only have 7 minutes left... you only have 4 minutes left... etc." I was rushing to eat my ice cream so fast. At one point, the server started clearing our plates and our pots while we were finishing our meal. I remember eating a carrot and the server almost pulled the plate from me as I took a bite :( She said she would come back in a minute... The server seemed to be guilt tripping us a little bit too :// She kept telling us that the next party was waiting for our specific table, but I found that to be weird because the empty table behind us could seat six but they weren't in any rush to finish cleaning that other table for some reason. My friends and I usually come out of Mo Mo Paradise so full and happy, but we just had a sour taste left in our mouth because of they rushing us. We also were unable to eat to our hearts' content :( It was weird, when I left the restaurant there really only seemed to be about five people waiting too... My first time at momo & wow, it is sooo DELICIOUS! They have a variety of sides you can freely grab & also a make your own sauce/grab your own drinks on the side. I love the choice of choosing between different broths. My side of the table ordered sukiyaki & tonkotsu broth. Sukiyaki is a sweeter, savory broth while tonkotsu is a creamy pork bone broth. I do prefer the tonkotsu because it match my taste buds more, but the sweeter broth was a great change and they give you broth water on the side if flavor is too strong or your soup evaporates. The sauces they offer blends so nicely with the meat. They also gives you a raw egg go stir and dip with your meat the japanese way. Came here for dinner and had a delicious meal! Reservations were easy to make online which I recommend especially on the weekend. When we arrived, there was no one at the front and we stood there for about 10 minutes until we were acknowledged by someone which was a little strange. Once we checked in and got seated, things went well. Ordering the meat was very easy and fast. They have a self service bar where you can get all your sauces, veggies, noodles, and sides. They also give you ice cream for dessert. We had the Wagyu experience and tried meat from both menus, obviously the Wagyu cuts were better but we enjoyed everything. We had a 6:30pm reservation and were seated shortly after arriving, which was much appreciated on a busy NYE evening. The restaurant itself is spacious and clean, with ample free parking in the parking structure (huge plus!). Mel was our server and she was absolutely fantastic. She was friendly, attentive, and somehow managing five tables at once without missing a beat. She cleared our table promptly and stayed on top of taking and checking in on our order the entire time. You could tell she really cared about providing great service, even during a rush. Came here with parents since we haven't ate hotpot in a while and didn't know what to eat. We came on a weekday for dinner so it wasn't crowded. However, I still made a reservation online since I saw a few reviews mentioned reserving ahead of time to mininize wait time. Luckily, it wasn't full when we arrived so the reservation wasn't actually needed but it did get more full later in the night so a reservation would be helpful if you plan to eat later at night during the peak times and especially during the weekends. Anyhow, we were seated quickly and got a table with two stoves and we could use both for four people. I got the Shabu Shabu and Sukiyaki broths while my parents got the Shabu Shabu and Tomato. And we got the Momo experience since it has a good assortment of meats. Our server was friendly in explaining the menu and had pretty fast service. Once we ordered the meat, they were served quickly too which was nice so you didn't have to wait long in between. The meat quality was pretty good but we noticed that the quality for the Chuck Eye got worse towards the end of our meal even though it started off really good. Not sure if that was on purpose or just a bad batch of beef but it was disappointing since it wasn't as tender and was tough to chew so I couldn't eat some of it. The broths were also pretty good. The Sukiyaki is a bit salty if you let the veggies and meat sit inside for too long so warning about that, but it was flavorful enough to not dip in sauces. I liked the Shabu Shabu more since it is more clear and not strong. Also, they have a drink section for unlimited drinks if you pay extra which I didn't opt for but they do let you order free hot tea or hot water unless you want cold water then it is at the soda fountain. Sad that they now charge for drinks. They also have a self-serve veggie bar which has decent amount of veggies and other hotpot ingredients but it is a smaller variety compared to some other all you can eat hotpots I have been to. Today (Sunday, August 16), me and my boyfriend went to this restaurant as usual. I come here regularly, and this is actually one of my favorite shabu restaurants. I've been here many times, and up until today, I've always been happy with both the food and the service. But today was very different from my previous experiences. We had been eating for about 50 minutes. We had already put a full pot of meat in and were waiting for it to cook when an Asian female server came over and told us it was the last call for meat, even though we still had a full pot of meat on the table (as shown in the photo I posted). I would understand if we had finished all the meat on the table and weren't ordering anything else, or if we had already been sitting there for a long time. But at that point, we had only been there for about 50 minutes, and more importantly, we still had a full pot of meat that we were actively eating. Yet we were already being told it was the last call. We told the server that we were okay and didn't want to order anything else. We continued eating for a little while, and while we were still eating the meat that was already in the pot, less than 10 minutes later, the same server came over and asked if we wanted to order ice cream now or if we wanted her to come back later. My boyfriend and I were very confused because we were literally still eating. We had food in our mouths and were still chewing. It's not like we had put our utensils down, stopped eating, and were ready for dessert. If that had been the case, I would have completely understood the server asking about dessert. A little while later, when we had started slowing down and were nearly finished eating, the same server came over again and said it was the last call for ice cream, meaning that if we didn't order it at that moment, we wouldn't be able to have it. By that point, we didn't even feel like continuing to enjoy our meal anymore because we felt so rushed and pressured, so we decided not to get the ice cream. Overall, I feel like this was the worst experience I've ever had at this restaurant. To be completely honest, I also work at an AYCE restaurant myself, so I fully understand time limits. I have no problem with a time limit, and I would never intentionally stay longer than necessary, especially when the restaurant is busy. But in this situation, we were genuinely still eating, and we still had a full pot of meat. When the server told us it was the last call, we had only been there for about 50 minutes. It made me feel like we were being pressured to hurry up, finish our food, and leave. What bothered me the most was that the server came to ask about ice cream twice while we were still eating, and the first time, we still had a full pot of meat in front of us. It made us feel like we couldn't comfortably enjoy our meal. We were seated at around 6:10 PM and finished eating and paid around 7:15-7:20 PM, so we were only there for about an hour. I'm not sure if we stayed too long and that was the reason the server felt the need to rush us that much. But based on this experience, I was extremely disappointed with the service. We made a reservation in advance for our family and rushed over on our way back from Vegas, thinking it was going to be packed. We planned on doing the Star Student promotion for our kids as a treat for doing well in school this past year. When we arrived they bluntly said it ended last week. But since we made the trip out we pointed out that their website on their front page (and instagram) is actively advertising the star student promotion. The restaurant is half empty and they sat us down while they "asked the manager"... so here's where the weird restaurant vibes started. Made us wait 15 mins just to have the same waitress tell us the manager decided after the wait the promotion is no longer available... yet no manager came to greet us and explain why... then kinda stone face expected us to stay. Felt very bait and switchy TBH. No smile/customer service and no apology that their website/socials all advertising with no updates that it was terminated. Bottom line is that less than an hour before closing, it's AYCE. All the food will go to waste and no accountability for their error in leaving up their promotion just to lure unsuspecting patrons. Our kids are 10 & 12 (thats $30 total Momo is saving?!) my wife & I basically decided it was really short sighted and lacking in customer service / business integrity. Initially excited to try but left a bad taste in our mouth. Luckily there was a Good Alley dumpling that opened up next door to feed us on late notice so worked out. Been to Mo-Mo a few times now (as well as many other AYCE hot pot places,) and IMO, what makes Mo-Mo unique is that the include drinks in the price of the meal and they also offer a beef curry that you can eat on top of rice. I'm not a big fan of the ponzu sauce nor sesame dipping sauces and you have to ask for soy sauce but the dipping sauce profiles are definitely more Japanese than Chinese if you're familiar with the nuances. Misleading! Beware of their current star student promotion! Came for the Star Student promo. Before being seated, I specifically asked what was needed and was told only a report card and school ID. The food was underwhelming (blah), and the Wagyu experience was a disappointment. Service was great though. What bothered me was being told a photo of my child was required for the promo after we were already dining and on our second round of meat. The flyer and sign says photos MAY be displayed, not that they're required. That should be disclosed upfront. read more

It's your standard AYCE shabu experience where you have the option of choosing between two sets: MoMo Experience (beef/pork) or Wagyu Experience (American Wagyu) + MoMo Experience. Each set comes with a choice of broth + egg + self serve bar that includes typical veggies, noodles, and fish balls. What sets this place apart is they also offer unlimited drinks (milk tea, tea, and fountain drinks) for a small additional cost of $3.55 I have had this spot recommended so many times by family, and it did not disappoint. The broth, especially Sukiyaki was SO flavorful and sweet-- it really complimented the beef. My boyfriend enjoyed the high quality of the cuts of meat. Service was really attentive, and our server made sure to check up frequently but not frequent enough to the point of being overbearing. Make sure to get a reservation as it was easier to dine in that way, than previous attempts of walk in and not being seated. There is a 90 minute time limit which they are pretty strict on! The restaurant has a smaller footprint compared to other typical shabu shabu places. The dining area was spotless and well-organized, creating a relaxed environment that made settling in easy. The staff were friendly and accommodating, checking in just enough to be attentive without feeling intrusive. Our party of four sampled three different broths, tonkotsu, shabu shabu, and sukiyaki. While the broths were overall average, the sukiyaki was a slight letdown; despite its rich, dark color from the mirin, it was surprisingly mild in flavor. That said, the true stars of the meal were the fresh ingredients and the meat. Ordering meat was quick and seamless, with no delays, and the selection and quality were well above average for an all-you-can-eat restaurant at this price point. In additional to typical veggies, fish balls, tofu items, they have both udon and ramen noodle. They also have a nice pot of Japanese curry to go with the short grain rice. My teenager was especially delighted by the self-serve drink station and happily went back for seconds on the matcha latte. After spending time simmering meats and vegetables in hot broth, the ice cream at the end of the meal was a refreshing finishing touch. The 90-minute dining window felt more than adequate to truly worth the price tag. We never felt rushed and had plenty of time to enjoy multiple rounds of food. Overall, while the broths themselves may not be the main draw, the combination of fresh ingredients, efficient service, clean environment, generous time limit, and above-average meat quality makes this shabu shabu spot a place we would gladly make this our regular spot. read more

This place other than pretty pricey is pretty good overall. I don't like the cheap tongs they use though because you really can't grasp much food to your plate at times.... Clean and good staff...fresh veggies and other items to choose from. Good soup bases I got a Vegetarian Tonkatsu and my friend got the I think it is beef Tonkatsu ... I think you have about 90 minute window to eat...but they don't kick you out if it isn't super busy..... I don't eat meat so I can't say much for that but my friend likes the offerings....so I'll go by that.... read more

Not the biggest fan of their soup bases but that's a personal preference. Everything else was great. The spicy shoyu dipping sauce was really good. Free ice cream, just need to ask for it. Waiting list can get long so plan accordingly!! read more
