What's better than hot comforting soup belly hotpot on a gloomy cold winter day?! Came here on a weekday for the lunch special and it was the best. A little crowded but foods awesome. Staff was friendly and helpful. Menu has very easy to choose selections and descriptions on how to eat so it's pretty cool even for newcomers. I chose the sukiyaki and tonkotsu. Started with every meat they have for Momo option which is the only one you can choose from lunch special option. It was amazing. Highly recommend that you make reservations because it does get busy. Very family-friendly service. The meats were so good. My favorite was the pork shoulder. You can choose from three different types of broths and load up on veggies from the self- serve bar. Everything was orderly. It does get loud when it gets packed but that's part of the fun. read more

This place won't tempt you with sauce bar or fried/snack bar and other things because you totally will be happy just staying put on your table: the meat, ponzu, goma, and broth is enough to keep you happy. Make sure you order ahead, because it seems they are a bit underhanded. Order at least 1.5x more than you think, so you don't have to wait for the next order. Place is comfortable and nicely crowded without getting too noisy. They also have the best selection of drinks (though it will cost you an extra $3.5). I do wish they have their amazing miso broth like they have in other countries. That will easily add two more stars for me, despite the rather slow service. read more

Great AYCE shabu spot! The meat quality was good and nicely presented in little trays. The server came by a few times to check on us and made sure we're good with our meat order. The dining time is limited to 90 minutes once you're seated. I loved the Chuck eye beef and probably ate 5 trays by myself! Lol definitely got my money's worth! I also love that there's a self service cold bar with all the different vegetables, meatballs, mushrooms, and noodles. There was an udon salad appetizer, curry and rice that were delicious. We decided on the chucke eye, short plate, and the kurobota pork should which was quite good. As for the soup based, they offered Shabu - Shabu, Sukiyaki, Tonkatsu, and tomato. For the quality, price point and experience, I've always been happy with my visits to mo mo paradise. There is a table near one of the back walls on the right side of the restaurant that offers great privacy, my family loves to enjoy our meals there and we can easily hear each other and catch up. My parents have limited mobility, so taking them somewhere where the food is also easy access for them and seating comfortable are two big factors about whether we will be coming back. We are regulars now. I'm very happy with the quality and selection, weekday lunch visits are always my favorite times I've visited. This Shabu Shabu is one of the best. They bring you fresh meat. The only 2 meats they have is beef or pork. The soup flavors are Shabu Shabu, Sukiyaki, Tonkotsu and Tomato. We had all 4 flavors and they did not disappoint! They also have a little buffet area with all the fixings, from the veggies, to the fish bowls, to tofu and rice. They also have this incredible cabbage salad with udon noodles and beef. The drink selection is amazing which includes BoBa! We were told there was over an hour wait without a reservation, even though at least half the tables were clearly open and unused. What made it worse was watching multiple groups get turned away while the dining room stayed empty the entire time. It felt disorganized and misleading, like they simply didn't want to seat people. If you don't accept walk-ins, that should be clearly stated online and at the door. Otherwise, it comes off as poor management and a waste of customers' time. Won't be coming back. read more

I was craving for hot pot and remembered that I had MoMo in San Diego and it was really good. It's located in the same plaza with 85 bakery so you can't miss it when you are driving by. Parking is located in the back. Service was fast, we were seated and asked what soup we would like and they would get the soup started and the varies meat that you wanted. your able to get two different soups, we went with traditional and tonkatsu. Meat choices were beef cuts of chuck eye, short plate and eye of round. Pork cuts includes pork shoulder and pork belly. We ended up trying all the meats but ended up just staying with the short plate and chuck eye cuts. The area that your able to get your fresh veggies, meat and fish balls and noodles for your ramen was very clean and they made sure it was all filled I love love their peanut sauce. Delectable shabu shabu restaurant! I think it's important to note this is a shabu shabu restaurant, not traditional Chinese hot pot! One of my favorites for sure. You're able to pick 2 broths, my favorite is sukiyaki, and you can choose either the regular AYCE or AYCE with AYCD. I always do it with the AYCD because I like my meal with a juice or soda. They have sides such as curry, an assortment of vegetables, and high quality meats. Service is always attentive and comes to you often to get your next order or refills the broth. It was my birthday, and my family and I decided to go here for dinner. When we first arrived, everything went well, the beef, drinks, noodles, vegetables, broth, everything was amazing. Although, halfway through eating, our waiter never came to ask if we were doing fine or asked if we wanted more meat. We had to go out of our way to walk outside to call the waiter over to order food. It was a Thursday night and it was not busy at all, the fact that service can be this slow even though there were barely any customers is ridiculous. That wasn't the worst part about the service. Since the waiter never came over, our soup were all dried out and it wasn't even a hot pot anymore it turned into a DRY POT. We tried raising our hand calling the waiter over multiple times, no one came. The pot was in such a bad condition it even started burning and we smelled smoke, it was so bad that even the other customers were looking over. The worst part is we literally walked out of the table to call the server over at least 2 times and she just said wait, even though we already told her the pot was burning. It was this hispanic lady with glasses. Due to my mom yelling the hispanic waitress over multiple times, she finally came over with a cup filled with warm water. She came over rudely and aggressively and she pushed us away from our chairs AND SPILLED A SPLASH OF THE WARM WATER ON MY AUNTIE'S SHIRT!!! It would've been fine if she said sorry, but she even gave us an attitude and tried to blame it on us since we had the heat of the pot set at the highest. Although, we called her over 5 minutes ago and she just decided to ignore us, and when she finally came 5 minutes later she's making it seem like it's our fault for having the heat too high with no apology. This kind of behavior needs to be fired. Also, in the end, they charged us for 4 drinks but instead we only took 2 drinks from the bar. They also need to fix their system of charging drinks per person since the drinks cost around $4 and anyone can just take the drinks from the bar while the staff has to estimate how many drinks a table of multiple people got. The management here is horrible and I would never come back nor recommend anyone to ever come to this place. read more

Came here for lunch without reservations and they made an effort to get us seated within 15 minutes. We didn't know this place was so popular and that most people made reservations. We opted for the MO-MO Experience AYCE that included beef and pork. We chose the Shabu Shabu broth (the Sukiyaki broth is sweet). They have a complimentary side bar area called the Farmer's Market. There you can get all sorts of sides to cook in your broth and fresh side dishes. Highly recommend the salad and the wagyu beef curry. This AYCE shabu shabu spot is (in my humble opinion) the best place in the area. They may not have as many options for meat, broth or veggies, but what they did have was better than any other place I've been to. I tried the sukiyaki broth and it was really good without being too sweet. They also have one of the best curries I've ever had. I believe they use wagyu in their curry. The beef is so tender and the curry is so flavorful. Anyways, it's fantastic and you should give it a try. The service was outstanding.
