Casual but the cutest Korean breakfast cafe I stumbled upon in Buena Park! What enticed me was their creative menu of Korean cuisine and my favorite brunch foods. The waitlist grew upon arrival, and for that, the staff offered us some water for waiting outside. It didn't take too long to be seated, but you're prompted to scan a QR code and place your order via your phone, making service easier and efficient. Blueberry Matcha Pancakes (3/5): One thing that caught my attention were the fluffy pancakes. For some reason I thought these pancakes took a while to prepare, however, that was not the case and were ready a few minutes after we placed our order. I do admit the presentation and lack of flavor was noticeable. It could use more cream or some syrup. Kalbi-Jjim Eggs Benedict (4/5): Absolutely delicious! The gochujang hollandaise sauce was creamy and savory. Hashbrowns of our side choice were crispy and flakey. The short rib was soft and not dry. For coffee, I recommend the Biscoff Banana Latte for something sweeter, but the Black Sesame Latte for a non-sweet coffee. I did like their food and their menu is so creative! Went on a mid Saturday morning for breakfast because we had another store to visit down in the OC area. We got there around 9 AM and it wasn't crowded - You walk in and you're taken to your seat and can either scan their menu or look at the plastic menus they have at the table. I got their Shakshouka ($15) - Eggs poached in a tomato sauce with various spices and four pieces of sourdough toast. Additionally, I added a Hojicha Black Sesame Iced Latte ($6.50). Honestly, their Shakshouka was just okay. I thought it was a tad spicy, but otherwise, the flavor just wasn't coming through. I did really like their sourdough bread and I'm glad it came with four slices (Some places only give you two!). I really liked their Hojicha Latte - Refreshing, smooth, and baby friendly (meaning not too much caffeine!) I think my husband got their Kalbi Jjim Eggs Benedict ($21) - Korean braised short rib with two poached eggs on topped with a gochugaru hollandaise sauce and potatoes. He also got a hot coffee (I forgot what it's called). He thought his dish was too salty and that over powered any of the other flavor that was part of the dish. Then there was the Matcha Souffle Pancakse ($15). These weren't as fluffy as we thought they'd be, but they were still light and airy with a hint of Matcha flavor. Paired well with the whip cream and was a sweet treat to end our breakfast on. There's plenty of seats inside for big and small groups. There is an outside patio, but if it's really hot, they don't have a lot of shaded area's depending on when you dine in, so I'd opt to sit inside. There are two bathrooms for both genders, one of the doors is pretty hard to open and close. Parking shouldn't be an issue as there's tons of spaces around Kitch (just maybe not as much directly in front of it if you get there late). When we left around 10:45/11 AM, there were people waiting to get in, so come early if you don't want a wait. They also offer Yelp check in. There was only 3 in our party and 2 of the orders came out 15-20 minutes after the first plate arrived, and that friend awkwardly waited til our plates arrived to eat out of politeness, thus making her food cold. And lo and behold, my fried chicken sando and fries came out lukewarm, so lose lose for everyone. Super unfortunate and makes us a little wary to get this if we come back. - Kaarage Chicken Sando with Tallow Fries (2/5): First time trying this sandwich here and it was a huge disappointment. The kaarage was crispy but dry. We were also surprised that it came out as multiple small pieces rather than one cutlet like a normal chicken sando. We came on a Sunday and it was extremely packed, but the waitlist process was easy so we just wrote our name down and waited. The menu has a wide range of options, which I really appreciated. We met here bright and early on a weekday and were greeted immediately at the register. One orders at the counter and then grabs a table, or I think one could also just order at the table through their QR code on the placeholder. We both ordered the same, 2x Matcha Soufflé Pancake and 2x Drip Coffee. For half & half, the trend these days are the mini individual cups but at least it was a brand name. Drip Coffee $4 Matcha Soufflé Pancake $15 Served with blueberries and sweet cream, dusted with matcha powdered sugar. Keep in mind that soufflé pancakes take at least 30 minutes, and one cannot order them to-go because it would not be fluffy anymore, and could also deflate when taking leftovers home. My leftover soufflé pancakes actually retained their shape. Funnily enough, a friend of mine just happened to be there the night before after their dinner at 88 Katsu and ordered bingsoo for dessert here at Kitch Cafe. Service was interesting - I do not know how to describe it. I guess it's more of a "quick-service restaurant" than an actual sit down service restaurant. One can ask for refills for their coffee, but the workers stopped stopping by our table after 1 refill. I had asked for more creamer for my refill and my friend's first coffee but they never brought any, so I had went up to the counter to ask the worker for a few more creamers. I didn't realize that there were some extra half & half creamers near the right side of the counter, which I did not realize until I had returned from using the restroom. There are 2 unisex restrooms for customers. Kitch Cafe is located in the Amerige Heights Town Center, where the row of one-way parking is, across from Barnes & Noble and also near dPlace Steak & Pasta, which is one of my favorites. After seeing an ad advertising the bogo dinner meals, I decided to make the trip to Kitch Cafe. The cafe is a casual style sit-down where you order and pay at the counter. Water and utensils are self service, and the bright atmosphere makes this cafe a nice area to sit down and eat with friends. There is also an outdoor patio area to enjoy the warm weather. For my 2 meals, I ordered their meatloaf and their chimichurri smoked tri-tip. Meatloaf, 2.5/5: For the portion size, it's on the smaller size, akin to a lunch portion rather than dinner size. I could taste fires were fried in tallow, as advertised, but there were multiple burnt ends that leaves a bitter taste to an otherwise decent fry. The meatloaf was savory, moist, and meaty, but it was otherwise one note. I couldn't taste the advertised smoky flavors, and the spices used were mild. The onion-mushroom gravy added umami, but I wish there was more mushroom to add texture. The salad was mostly arugula with hardly any salad dressing. Smoked tri-tip plate, 2.5/5: The fries and salad were the same as described above. The portion size was also very modest for a dinner plate. The tri-tip was savory but i couldn't taste any smoky flavors. The steak was also chewy and difficult to cut with the provided butter knife. The chimichurri sauce was also a tad too acidic for how lean tri-tip is. Overall, I am glad to have tried this place and really did enjoy the overall vibe. One of my favorite brunch spots in OC. Their menu is super unique and fun. The restaurant is clean and well appointed. They have an outdoor patio area with plenty of seating. Our food came before our coffees, they take reservations but it's honestly not needed unless it's busy, starter to pick up around 11am. The pancakes were okay. I feel like the customer service energy and quality of food/drinks could improve. Next time I would try a matcha instead. My Dubai chocolate latte was really sweet (obviously sounds sweet from the name but I thought I'd give it a try) but the pistachio or something about it tasted really artificial which I couldn't enjoy. Came on their first day of soft opening! The place was pretty packed around noon, so our dishes came out slowly but totally understandable due to the first-day rush. We did experience a lil mix-up with how we wanted the matcha soufflé pancakes served, so we kinda had to DIY it. BUT they still tasted amazing--fluffy with a strong matcha flavor that wasn't too sweet!! Perfect if you're a matcha lover & prefer desserts that aren't overpowering :-) Our absolute fave dish was easily the galbijjim eggs benedict!! Everything about it was delicious and we would def come back just for that alone. We also loved the ube brick french toast, which had a good mix of ube and crème brûlée without being too sweet. The avo toast was pretty standard, and the breakfast sando w/bacon was decent but got a lil messy since the eggs were on the runnier side. Even with some opening-day hiccups, the staff and owners were sooo sweet--constantly making sure we were good, which made the experience 10x better! Definitely excited to see how they grow once they settle in. If you love brunch foods & Asian food, this place is worth checking out! read more

We enjoyed a lovely brunch at Kitch Café, and the crowd both inside and outside the restaurant clearly showed just how popular this spot is. We ordered the Galbi Jjim Eggs Benedict and Shakshuka. The Eggs Benedict was not only beautifully presented but also packed with flavor. The Shakshuka, while flavorful, was a bit on the dry side, but it still paired nicely with a smooth Americano. From the moment we ordered to when the food arrived at our table, the service was professional and well-organized. What made the experience even more special was a visit from someone who seemed to be the owner--they came over with a warm smile, kindly checked on our meal, and made sure we were satisfied. That thoughtful gesture added a personal touch to our visit. Kitch Café, keep up the amazing food, beautiful presentation, and outstanding customer service. We'll definitely be back! read more

Checked out Kitch Cafe's soft opening today and was blown away by the friendly and knowledgeable service, cute and casual ambiance, and delicious brunch options! Love that the staff takes the time and effort to explain the ingredients and preparation for each dish, so you can truly enjoy and appreciate the attention to detail and care that Kitch Cafe puts into every bite. We tried the following brunch items: Biscoff Banana Brulee Brick French Toast: I was worried this would be too sweet based on the description, but it was well-balanced and had terrific textures and flavors! A must for banana / Biscoff / french toast lovers! Loco Moco: very unique loco moco, as the protein had onions mixed in and was reminiscent of a yummy meat loaf. Kalbi Jjim Eggs Benedict: such a creative, savory, and comforting take on Eggs Benedict! Love the fusion of Korean flavors and would order this over and over again. Prosciutto Burrata Hot Honey Open-Face Toast: the toast had wonderful texture thanks to the choice of bread, and the combo of savory prosciutto, fatty burrata, and unctuous hot honey worked so well together. Matcha Souffle Pancake: if you like that jiggle jiggle with your pancakes, you've got to check out at least one version of Kitch Cafe's souffle pancakes! This dish was very matcha forward and you can taste the quality of ingredients. We also saw that there will be a pizza menu - looks absolutely amazing and we're wishing Kitch Cafe all the very best for their Grand Opening on Wed 3/12 and beyond!
