Went here today around 12:30. The place was completely empty. But for a Sunday it's probably normal. After we ordered people slowly started flowing in until it was getting pretty busy. I ordered the Kirin Special Seafood Deluxe. All the seafood was cooked perfectly and very tasty. The veggies were also very fresh and vibrant. the dish was very flavorful and came with fried rice that was good as well. Wife ordered the dragon roll. It was very good. They did not skimp on the tempura shrimp in the roll. I will definitely be going back here to try other things like the nigiri. Food was good cheese wonton was excellent. Disappointed that thier hot mustard was a packet and not made fresh. New restaurant near Eugene area so we decide to give it a try. This place offers both Japanese and Chinese cuisine but I think Chinese dishes are better. I order the Kirin City Sushi for 2, the sashimi was moderately good, roll should reduce rice portion imo. We also ordered half of Roasted Duck which we finished within second and forgot to take picture of it. Only $13 for half Roasted Duck and I think it's a steal! Really delicious. We've been here many times, and I guess I've never thought to leave a review until today. The food is excellent, perfect temperature and very generous portions. But they really have no idea what customer service means. When we came in today there were very few clean tables and no people, so it appeared that they were cleaning all tables at once instead of as people leave. This time, my husband received his dinner about 10 minutes before I received mine. When I went to the desk to question it, I was told that two different cooks were doing our dinners and one was busy with a to go order before he could get to mine. Excuse me! That makes absolutely no sense. About half the time a waitress will come back to check on you and to refill water, etc. I wouldn't go here if the food wasn't so darn good. read more

We were looking for a new place and tried Kirin City due to yelp reviews and they weren't wrong. So clean and beautiful inside. Service was fast, we hadn't even got done with our egg flower soup (delicious by the way) before our Bento boxes arrived. My husband got the Teriyaki chicken and I got the shrimp tempura. Everything was so fresh and flavorful. We have decided to take my mom there for dinner and I can't wait to try new dishes. read more

Delicious food, fresh veggies, excellent service. I'm from the San Francisco Bay Area and I have not had good Chinese food since moving to eugene 11 years ago. They have items on their menu that I have not seen since moving from the bay. Other Chinese restaurants here have burgers and fries on their menu's, and I guess most restaurants that are of other cultures have to cater to people with limited pallets in this area, and I'm so happy that Kirin City is being themselves and offering more authentic dishes. Im so excited about this new place and I wish them all the prosperity in their family business. I work right down the street and I'll be getting lunch here very very often! read more

We were passing through town and stayed at the Village Inn. We ordered to-go but later found out they had just opened for dine-in service. Very clean restaurant with friendly, efficient staff. The food was fresh and delicious. I ordered a Bento box and my wife ordered orange chicken. The portions were generous and the miso soup was some of the best I've had. I went to Kirin City yesterday for lunch with my Dad. They took our temperatures when we came in, which I appreciated, then sat us at a table. The first thing I noticed was how clean and nice everything looks. I ordered the Chicken With Mushrooms and my Dad ordered the Shrimp With Vegetables, we were very happy with both. Everything tasted very fresh and was perfectly cooked. We opted for the fried rice and it was so good we both ate all of it! I love Chinese food but I rarely touch the rice and always have leftovers at other restaurants, this was the first time I've ever finished my plate. In my opinion the amount of food served was perfect, I was full with no leftovers, I actually prefer not to have leftovers. The waitress that helped us was very nice, friendly and had a good sense of humor. We got refills quickly with little wait time. Other Chinese restaurants in the area feel dirty, like a sticky floor and sticky table (you probably can guess which one specifically that I'm referring to) not very appealing when your there to eat food. But Kirin City is my new favorite place and I look forward to becoming a regular there! read more

We've been here 3 times since they opened. They are clean, the food is clean and fresh, service is excellent and the orders come out quickly. It's always consistent. This restaurant has been open 3 weeks and we've ordered takeout 3 times, it's that good. The vegetables are all fresh, cut to fit your mouth, and not overcooked, they taste like fresh vegetables should. The meats are all moist and tender and are plentiful in every dish we've ordered. The shrimp are sweet, not rubbery, and loaded in the dishes we ordered. The food is very well prepared. The only downfall is they're so good that they're slammed at dinner time and don't always answer their phone. Springfield has been needing a good Chinese restaurant since the owners of the old Springfield Garden moved to Eugene about four years ago, now they have one again. read more

I ordered around 9pm last night for a to go order. This was my second choice because my first choice was already closed. I have been craving fried rice and BBQ pork. I call the order in and to my surprise; its located in the old Village Inn restaurant!! I used to be part of the furniture back when and knew the owners well. So I was excited to try Chinese food there. I arrived and got the order. I order the special fried rice a f BBQ pork. I had told the lady I needed extra soy sauce and sesame seeds for the pork. Thank goodness I checked the bag. There was only 2 soy sauce, no sesame seeds and no red sauce or hot mustard for dipping. I asked for all these items again. I asked for the sauce lady and they charged me for it. I've never been charged for the sweet red sauce for your BBQ pork! I got home and opened my BBQ pork. Tried a piece.....YUCK!! IT WAS THE WORST CHINESE BBQ PORK I HAVE EVER HAD!!! It was thin and so try I could barely chew it! I was livid! The portion size was small as well. I threw the rest of it away. I wasn't the only one eating it. Everyone agreed. Now the Chinese special rice lacked taste as well. All the meats included in the rice tasted like fish. The whole experience, the price $20.50-( I tipped ) taste, portion and having to ask for stuff I ordered in the first place then having to pay for condiments that should already be included in my order....sorry.... I will never go back. Very disappointed!! Out of 10... I would give it a 0. I still have a fish taste in my mouth the next day. Ugh. read more

Had to stay an extra night near Eugene. We tried Kirin City after reading some reviews. We definitely were not disappointed. Large, hot, fresh servings with just the right amount of seasoning. We especially liked the Eggplant and Garlic. Rice was well cooked. Also had an avocado salad with a perfectly prepared avocado resting on julienned cucumber with a subtle soy dressing. Edamame was good But could have used a little more salt. Good friendly service. Very reasonable prices. We will be back . read more

I never leave reviews, but I feel obligated because the food was fairly expensive for being so low quality. My boyfriend and I ordered bento boxes from there. I was afraid to eat the sashimi as it looked and tasted unpalatable . The food looked like everything was sitting out for a long time. Even the edamame we ordered was cold, wilted and overly soft. Sushi was good in a past order. This time we got hibachi steak, chicken and shrimp. First off, we called to ask about it and they said it came with fried rice which it did not (came with steamed rice). Salad was bland, soup was not tasty. The steak... oh wow was inedible. So tough, no flavor, fatty and horrible flavor. Same with the shrimp. Chicken was just ok, plain. Potstickers were just average as were the Rangoons. Had to process a refund from our third party delivery app which they happily did. Will not order from here again and be warned if you order anything other than sushi. read more

The ginger beef had an excellent flavor. While listed as hot on the menu, mine had just a hint of red pepper, so I consider it mild. Hot & sour soup was much better than my typical restaurant experience. My wife got the Godzilla Roll, which she enjoyed. Prices were reasonable.
