    Mussels Yakisoba
    Taylor D.

Been here twice, once last night, once a couple months ago. Above average avocado rolls. It was nice that they were serving food so late. Given we came in around ten thirty both times the mussels were decent too despite not fresh. Love this place!!! It's great considering how late it's open, I already enjoyed how they had it set up inside.

Our sushi bar experience with Chef Alan was excellent! Hamachi and salmon are our favorite and the onigiri were perfect! Kids meal was a very generous serving of yakisoba with a handful of nice crispy tofu on top. Kiddo loved the miso soup too. Great meal! Definitely recommend sitting at the sushi bar and having Alan make some sushi for you. Best sushi we've had aside from Akira!

this place has amazing interior decor. cute little pockets of different vibes and the mood lighting is great. the miso soup was great as well. the fish was excellent quality, probably the best salmon i've had in a while. you could hear people singing karaoke next door but still an enjoyable scene. i've been thinking about the salmon since i went here and i will be back!

Burnt katsu or not sure what it was meant to be actually

Ordered katsu ramen to go. The katsu was burnt and not even edible. The ramen broth was more like a miso than a ramen broth and couldn'teat that either. Waste of $

    Beef Bento Box

Was craving some California rolls and always love the variety a bento box comes with. We got the beef one. Served over a bed of shredded cabbage. Side salad, rice, miso soup, 3 California rolls, & 2 pot stickers. I ordered for delivery and the food was still the perfect temperature! The soup was HOT, but at the point I could sip it comfortably. I was happy it wasn't cold upon arrival. I asked for no dressing on salad and it came just as I asked. Thank you! The California rolls were big, but they weren't sealed well so they wanted to unroll themselves so I had to pick them up and hold them together. But that's ok they were yummy and stuffed full. The rice was delicious with the beef and cabbage. The order came with a sauce in a small container- I assume for the potstickers? But unsure. Much lighter than the soy sauce. A single packet of soy sauce, chopsticks, and a couple napkins. Was perfect. The potstickers were really good. Not sure if it was pork or chicken inside- wish it had more info on what they used, but nonetheless they were good as well! The ONLY reason I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 is simply because the beef had a little too much fat on nearly every piece. I get that it's used with a cheaper cut of beef, but I feel it always shows in the bento boxes unfortunately. Overall a good filling meal with leftovers, but definitely a bit disappointing to always see the flex and pieces of fat all over the meat. Luckily it wasn't chewy and had pretty good flavor. I like this restaurant and for $13 and some change for all this food I feel like it's pretty reasonable.

    Spoonful of Miso Soup

Really sad to be giving this 1 star because this used to be my favorite sushi spot, but it has really gone downhill over the years. I ordered takeout via UberEats and was very disappointed with the quality of food that I received. First off, I got maybe two spoonfuls of miso soup (view attached photo for a very sad sight). Secondly, the sushi was probably the worst I have ever had in my life... Philly roll was missing smoked salmon. There's only 3 ingredients in a Philly roll and one was missing! Lastly, deep fried rolls were somehow stale and something just didn't taste right with them. Didn't even end up finishing everything. Really wanted some comfort food and ended up more uncomfortable than ever.

so awesome! music was so good from the second we walked in, bangers the whole time. lighting and bar area is cute and the "booth" seats are like old bus seats with seat belts?! so cute. food was so good by itself, didn't need much soy sauce. happy hour is $1 SAKE SHOTS?!! UNBEATABLE. dinner for 2 was less than $40 with more than a 20% tip! staff were so nice and both servers offered water and help! will be coming back for sure :)

Everyone in line was hungry and excited to get inside and order. When it was my turn, I got the clam chowder and the Captain's Platter with cod as my fish choice. Food came out fairly quick. But I saw other people's plates looking the same so I started to eat mine and absolutely loved it! It was difficult for many guests to move between the tables. During our visit, I saw at least three older customers struggling to navigate the narrow aisles, and one woman on crutches had a particularly hard time getting through. Accessibility is definitely an area that could use some attention. The restrooms were also located outside and, unfortunately, were quite dingy and in need of a thorough cleaning. For lunch, we ordered the fish and chips special, crab cakes, and clam chowder. The clam chowder was the biggest disappointment-there was very little seafood and it was mostly potatoes. The crab cakes were also far too salty. I understand that crab cakes are often seasoned aggressively, but these crossed into territory that made them difficult to enjoy. The fish and chips ended up being the saving grace of the meal: crispy, flavorful, and easily the best dish we ordered. We also shared a kombucha, which was refreshing and paired nicely with lunch. Pricing was reasonable, but for me the food quality and execution didn't quite justify the reputation. Parking was also challenging, especially during the busy lunch rush. Overall, it was an average experience with a few bright spots, but there's definitely room for improvement

This isn't the place to bring a group. Inside is tight-there are two small low tables close by together and a narrow bar at one end with maybe 5 stools. There is an outdoor seating area but it was full today. Menu is fairly small. They have fish & chips, fish sandwiches, fish/shrimp salads and 3 types of grilled fish with rice. There are a few sides. There are also daily specials. We had a salmon sandwich with a side of fries and grilled yellowtail with rice which was the special for the day. The salmon sandwich (ordered no sauce or shredded cabbage) was good but nothing special. I'm sure the cabbage and tartar sauce would have given it a bit of zip. The fries were ok. The yellowtail didn't have much flavor until you out what tasted like a light teriyaki. It had brown rice which was nice & chewy and the sauce gave it flavor. You really have to cook fish with flavors like garlic, lemon or something to give it flavor. Service was really good. They were very willing to put things on the side or remove them. I don't think I'd go back. If it's nothing special, I'm not going to pay for a meal out.

The fried chicken bao was unfugging, unbelievably delicious. Can we say unfugging on Yelp? We got the Mrs V roll - spicy tuna topped with seared beef. The place was packed, but thankfully we were seated quite quickly with a 5-10 minute wait. The interior is cozy and welcoming. It's dimly lit with mood lighting on the tables. It felt lively since the tables were packed. We started by ordering the sake and shoyu flights and some fries with wasabi mayo while we explored the rest of their menu. We received the flights quickly. Both flights had 3 flavors and were tasty and fun to try. Each flight comes with a menu describing the flavor profile and how the drinks were made. The flavors of each flight were distinct and matched their descriptions. The fries with wasabi mayo were pretty basic fries. They were well seasoned, had a nice crunch, and the mayo had a subtle wasabi flavor without it being spicy. For our next round we ordered the salmon misoyaki, butternut squash, tofu kushiyaki, and steak kushiyaki. Unfortunately, our server forgot to bring our butternut squash, but we ended up being full with the rest of the food we ordered and just took it off our order. The salmon misoyaki was delicious - perfectly cooked, tender, and well seasoned. The mustard greens on the side added a nice sourness. The tofu kushiyaki was tender and flavorful. The steak kushiyaki was well-seasoned, but more well done than I preferred and a little tough. Next, we ordered the spinach goma ae and umeboshi unigiri. The spinach goma ae was such a pleasant surprise! It's a chilled spinach dish with a tamari/black sesame sauce that was refreshing mid-meal. Really good umami flavor! The umeboshi onigiri had the expected sharp salty/sour flavor that balanced well with the ratio of rice. Ended up dipping the umeboshi onigiri in the goma ae sauce to get every last drop. For dessert we ordered the basque cheesecake and créme brûlée. The cheesecake was just okay. The menu said there was sake and black sesame flavors, but apart from some black sesame dust on the plate we couldn't taste the sake/sesame. The texture was thick and not super smooth. It was a pretty heavy dessert and not very sweet. The créme brûlée was yummy. The custard was smooth and the crunchy caramelized sugar on top was a nice contrast in texture and flavor. The service itself was slow. We were waiting around 15 minutes between orders. Given, it was a busy night. However, we felt a bit forgotten as our server did forget to bring one of our dishes, we had to ask for our dessert menus twice, and we were accidentally served two basque cheesecakes instead of our order of cheesecake and créme brûlée. The staff were friendly, and quickly brought out the correct desserts at the end. I'd recommend ordering more dishes at once so you can enjoy more food in between orders. Would definitely come back again to try the rest of their menu. We wanted to try the Japanese sweet potato but they had sold out that night. The oysters, sashimi, and udon also looked quite good!
