The food was amazing and the people that run it are so nice and sweet. It's a nice quiet restaurant but relaxing.

Cute little restaurant next to subway. Parking spots are limited in lot. I came here after work and there were only 2 couples in. Their menu is very simple and to the point which is nice. I ordered bulgogi, rice, and a soda. Their rice is not white it's a brown rice mix I believe but still delicious. Bulgogi is cooked well and not too chewy and well seasoned. They also have a small dish of fresh kimchi. They do clear off the tables for you so just leave your plates and items on the table he will come by and clear it off. A very nice couple who run this they do speak Korean and I spoke with them but they also speak English.

Thoroughly enjoyed my Soondubu with super tender beef here. The broth was very flavorful and they gave you so much tofu! For $14, this was soso amazing. Got to try some stirfry and the bibimbap as well. Both were very tasty. Again, great protein portion. You also get a side of Kimchi with your order. A very hole-in-a-wall spot. Only two people working the place so it can take a bit of time to get your food but it's worth it!

I notice that all the bad reviews are about the service. Here's my thought on that: no need to go judging people based on one interaction, especially when they're running a restaurant with just their partner. The old man behind the counter was non verbal as he motioned for me to get a seat and gave me and my homie a menu. He came to get our order and I asked him a question about what to add to the soondubu, he answered: it's all good. I believe him. I asked for boxes and he gave no response, just walked to the back. He came back with a box for my rice and a box for my soup. I felt bad because I hadn't eaten much as I was getting ready for a competition the next day. I explained this to him and told him the food was delicious. This was the first time his facial expression changed; he smiled! What a rewarding smile. Be patient and understanding. The environment was as fantastic as the food. Quiet with plenty of intimate booths and minimal, charming bits of expression on the walls and in the old age of everything within the restaurant. Korean newspapers were stacked up behind the counter. The old man at the front desk spoke in Korean to the old woman behind the screen to let her know what to cook. The food was as lovely as the environment. Big, organic shapes of silken tofu lazed about savory, sour, spicy soup. Sticky rice soaked up the mild juice that the tender bulgogi beef left behind. A cast iron cow carried its meat to the customer. A small bowl of tart kimchi. Awesome!

Pork Bulgogi, rice, vegieis, and a soft drink for $10.50 for lunch is hard to beat! Food was very good. Staff was friendly and lunch cane out quick. I look forward to trying more of the menu.

Cafe Seoul is a little slice of home I've been fortunate to find here in Eugene, OR. It's a mom & pop shop run by a Korean couple, and although it's not the same as my grandmas' home cooking, it's definitely good. We tried the beef bulgogi, japchae, and dol sot bibimbap. IMO all three are enough to share between 2-3 people. If you're unfamiliar to Korean food, I recommend any of these! The bulgogi and japchae are mild spice and the dol sot bibimbap is medium spice. The japchae is a savory but slightly sweet glass noodle dish with sautéed veggies, mushrooms, and sometimes beef. Bulgogi is a standard, savory, marinated beef dish with onions. Lastly, dol sot bibimbap is a rice bowl dish served in a hot, stone pot. The stone pot allows some of the rice to crisp up so when you mix it, there are crunchy bits of rice throughout.

This little spot caught my eye while driving around and I wanted to check it out. Located next to the Subway and across from the Matthew Knight Arena. They have not re-opened for indoor dining so we did takeout. My opinion is Korean meals are best when eaten on site (served with banchan), but with the current COVID situation (and not all places re-opening fully yet), we had no choice but to takeaway. This is a small mom & pop restaurant that serves good, Korean comfort foods--bibimbap, galbi, bulgogi, ramen, soups, stews, etc. We ordered the spicy chicken, beef bulgogi and rabbokki. The rabbokki was very good, enough spice (a little like kimchi, so it isn't super spicy), the rice tubes were perfect as was the ramen...good chew, not over-cooked. The spicy chicken was a mild spicy, but it was still spicy. I was least impressed with the bulgogi--the flavor was there, but something about it was lacking--maybe because it wasn't grilled like I'm used to. Both rice dishes were served with purple rice, which was a nice surprise. With our order we were also given a side of fresh kimchi. It was solid & satisfying meal. Don't expect to be "wowed" (especially if grew up in an area with a large Korean community), but it is good and hits the spot.

I have been coming to Cafe Seoul for years. It's one of the BEST Korean food spots in OREGON! The cafe is owned and run by a Korean couple...it's literally just the 2 of them. I've never had issues with customer service...as others have mentioned, but I agree that he is quiet and to the point with his work. The food is delicious and comforting and comes with generous portions. I especially LOVE the Pa-Jeon, Soft Tofu Hot Pot, Yuk Gae Jang, Kimchi Stew, Bu Dae Ji Kae, Bi Bim Bap. Don't come here expecting "fast food speed" service because everything is made fresh and from scratch. Sit and enjoy some hot tea while waiting for your delicious food to be served.

Good bulgogi. Rice was tasty but some extra sauce would be good. Service was good. Right near UofO campus.

Ordered the Ikura onigiri and the Japanese Sweet Potato and the Agadashi Tofu. (I asked for miso butter on the side for me because I have found it overwhelms the potato which is seasoned really wonderfully). The Ikura Onirigi was simple and excellent. My favorite wishes that they would create an regular Onirigi Happy Hour where they are on discount so that those of us who just want to have half a dozen of those and a few drinks can come in and experience our heart's delight. My drink of choice here is the Painkiller -- which is really well balanced and so delicious it's hard not to have a second. Wednesdays are when they have two dollars off the ginger-based drinks and I didn't try it this time but I am keen to the next time because they appear to crush the ginger in house and make their own ginger concoction magic. The bar was thankfully not crowded. As an introvert it was nice to be finishing up and heading out just as more people were coming in.

There are no reservations at this restaurant, so it's first come first serve. Street parking was…read moreeasy to find, and we arrived around 7. The place was packed, but thankfully we were seated quite quickly with a 5-10 minute wait. The interior is cozy and welcoming. It's dimly lit with mood lighting on the tables. It felt lively since the tables were packed. We started by ordering the sake and shoyu flights and some fries with wasabi mayo while we explored the rest of their menu. We received the flights quickly. Both flights had 3 flavors and were tasty and fun to try. Each flight comes with a menu describing the flavor profile and how the drinks were made. The flavors of each flight were distinct and matched their descriptions. The fries with wasabi mayo were pretty basic fries. They were well seasoned, had a nice crunch, and the mayo had a subtle wasabi flavor without it being spicy. For our next round we ordered the salmon misoyaki, butternut squash, tofu kushiyaki, and steak kushiyaki. Unfortunately, our server forgot to bring our butternut squash, but we ended up being full with the rest of the food we ordered and just took it off our order. The salmon misoyaki was delicious - perfectly cooked, tender, and well seasoned. The mustard greens on the side added a nice sourness. The tofu kushiyaki was tender and flavorful. The steak kushiyaki was well-seasoned, but more well done than I preferred and a little tough. Next, we ordered the spinach goma ae and umeboshi unigiri. The spinach goma ae was such a pleasant surprise! It's a chilled spinach dish with a tamari/black sesame sauce that was refreshing mid-meal. Really good umami flavor! The umeboshi onigiri had the expected sharp salty/sour flavor that balanced well with the ratio of rice. Ended up dipping the umeboshi onigiri in the goma ae sauce to get every last drop. For dessert we ordered the basque cheesecake and créme brûlée. The cheesecake was just okay. The menu said there was sake and black sesame flavors, but apart from some black sesame dust on the plate we couldn't taste the sake/sesame. The texture was thick and not super smooth. It was a pretty heavy dessert and not very sweet. The créme brûlée was yummy. The custard was smooth and the crunchy caramelized sugar on top was a nice contrast in texture and flavor. The service itself was slow. We were waiting around 15 minutes between orders. Given, it was a busy night. However, we felt a bit forgotten as our server did forget to bring one of our dishes, we had to ask for our dessert menus twice, and we were accidentally served two basque cheesecakes instead of our order of cheesecake and créme brûlée. The staff were friendly, and quickly brought out the correct desserts at the end. I'd recommend ordering more dishes at once so you can enjoy more food in between orders. Would definitely come back again to try the rest of their menu. We wanted to try the Japanese sweet potato but they had sold out that night. The oysters, sashimi, and udon also looked quite good!
