Actually a small mom and pop shop! It's so small and homey, it reminds me of true kdrama restaurants. The prices are reasonable for kfood and honestly I've tried about 3 things and I have no complaint. The owners are a sweet, older Korean Asian couple and they have a small kitchen that brings delicious food to life. This was probably one of the best soondubus I've had--so flavorful with a good amount of saltiness. The galbi was perfectly marinated; the right amount of sweetness and color. I visited a 2nd time and got the beef dolsot. It had a perfect crunchy bottom and fulfilled my veggie craving. Each meal comes with 2 side dishes. Bean sprouts, cucumber kimchi, or potatoes. This small restaurant packs a punch and serves a very large menu. The variety is amazing. Everything from stews to soups to fried rice and savory pancakes. I ordered yukkaejjang for $19. It's a hearty stew/soup with a very spicy looking broth with shredded beef, enoki mushrooms, long slices of green onion, vermicelli noodles, and a beaten egg for extra protein. It looks much spicier than it actually tastes, overall fine, though if I'm honest the soup base was thin on flavor; will try the kimchi jjigae next time. It came with a bowl of rice. An extra bowl of rice will cost you two dollars. They served two of the traditional side dishes, marinated potatoes and mung bean sprouts lightly tossed in sesame oil. I loved that they had the stainless steel flatware and water cups. They also sell some of the popular Korean juices and flavored milks that come in individual cartons. The person sitting across from me had ordered a soft tofu stew that arrived still bubbling, as it should. Snacking the cutlery and water is a self-serve process which is common for smaller Korean restaurants. Service was friendly, fast, excellent. Discovered this hidden gem in Eugene while on our road trip from California to Washington, a cute mom-and-pop shop near the University of Oregon campus. Menu items were listed with photos/pricing on the walls with specials on the back wall. We all chose specials that were priced fairly at $12 each. Portions were on the smaller side, but it worked out since we didn't have the ability to take leftovers home. Mom took the order, and Pop cooked it. We had chicken bulgogi with noodles, beef bulgogi with noodles, and curry ramyun. All tasted very good! Mom even gave us some veggie pancakes to try on the house - they were yummy! So nice of her! Amazing Korean food! We stopped in for lunch and had some Mandu, vegetable pancake, chicken bulgogi, beef bulgogi, kimchi jjigae and banchan. It was all so very good! The vegetable pancake was amazing in itself and the Mandu were awesome as well. Of course the bulgogi's and jjigae were outstanding as was the banchan (cucumber kimchee and blanched sprouts). After a staff meeting recently, a few of my colleagues invited me to tag along with them for lunch to Korea House. Having never been there before, I was excited to try it. Once we opened the door to enter, I knew I wouldn't be disappointed. The aromas won me over immediately. The ambiance nothing special but it aligns with their main customer base, students looking for a good meal. I haven't had much Korean food so I wanted to stick to something I knew; I picked the beef bulgogi with noodles. We found our table and got settled in. The staff were courteous and were quick to have our food ready. The beef bulgogi was perfect. The sauce mixed with the noodles and vegetables so perfectly that, before I knew it, my bowl was empty. 5 stars for the friendliness & cleanliness; 3.5 stars for the food. I was craving Korean food and I had this place bookmarked, based on the reviews. I had high expectations, but my overall food experience was "meh." It's a definitely a mom and pop establishment, super casual. It was empty upon my arrival and only 1 person came in for their regular order during my visit. There is no table service--order and pick up at the counter. The menu is photos on the wall with the description and on the nearby fridge with all day specials and some combo items--a picture, after all, is worth a thousand words. I was craving some comfort food...nothing jumped out at me and my usual "go-to" back home is jjajangmyeon (black bean sauce noodles), so that's what I ordered. I was taken aback as this was the first time the noodles and sauce were 1) already mixed and 2) a fried egg served on top. I don't know if the egg is a regional style, but it's the first I've seen. The whole joy of eating jjajangmyeon is mixing the sauce together with the noodles yourself and that joy was taken away. The sauce is usually served on top, sometimes on the side, so you can mix it up. The egg was a new experience. The dish itself was bland, maybe it had too much cabbage in the sauce. There was also an unusual strong black pepper taste in the sauce. My banchan consisted of seasoned bean sprouts and braised potatoes (sweet); pickled radish (단무지) is the standard banchan when eating jajjangmyeon and this was not served; I was a bit sad that I didn't get any kimchi. Maybe their other dishes on the menu are worthy of a 5 star rating, but the jjajangmyeon definitely falls short. read more

Finally had the opportunity to give Korea House a try. We split a pork Bulgogi and a kimchi pancake. They both were really good. The Bulgogi was seasoned well and had a sweetness to it. The pancake was crispy on the outside and soft inside. The staff was really friendly and informative. The only thing was that I felt the portion sizes could be larger for the price. The spice level was perfect (a little heat, but not painful/distracting from the rest of the dish). It was a little expensive ($18 each), so we won't be making this a frequent stop. I dined in. There were three people who I believe are the family members they were sitting I the lobby. I was the only guest. You have to place your order at the counter. Pick up your food at the counter. Get your own utensils and napkins and then there are signs to buss your own table. Even as I got up to leave I asked where do you want me to buss this to. Instead of just taking my stuff they told me out it on the shelf. While they sat in the lobby. Pretty much everything was self service. Not sure why I tipped. You do not get side dishes at least not with what I ordered. Which I thought was odd almost all Korean places give panchan. You have to pay extra for them and they only have a choice of three side dishes. Ordered jjampong and tteobokki to go. I thought the jjamppong would have squid but it only had 3 shrimps and 3 clams/mussels. Noodles and broth are packaged separately. Level 3 of spice and it was quite the heat. Tteobokki was chewy and amazing. Had a couple of fish cakes in it and a decent amount, not a lot.
