My friends showed me this place a few months ago and I wish I knew about it for the last 4 years when I first came to Eugene for school. This is one of my favorite spots in Eugene and I try to come at least once a week for an amazing warm meal, I usually get the beef bulgogi. The owners are also always super nice and welcoming. Very much recommend! read more

I'm so glad we came and tried this spot out. My husband and I just recently moved up to Oregon from California and really needed a good, local korean restaurant! We got the Galbi, seafood tofu soup, and pork bulgogi special for dinner. Everything tasted AMAZING. It's hard to find a really good authentic korean restaurant but this place had it all!! The owners were really nice and offered us more rice if we needed. The food was cooked quickly and came out hot and delicious. I will be coming back!!!! read more

I dined in. There were three people who I believe are the family members they were sitting I the lobby. I was the only guest. You have to place your order at the counter. Pick up your food at the counter. Get your own utensils and napkins and then there are signs to buss your own table. Even as I got up to leave I asked where do you want me to buss this to. Instead of just taking my stuff they told me out it on the shelf. While they sat in the lobby. Pretty much everything was self service. Not sure why I tipped. You do not get side dishes at least not with what I ordered. Which I thought was odd almost all Korean places give panchan. You have to pay extra for them and they only have a choice of three side dishes. I ordered spicy pork he told me small or large size but didn't explain there were no side dishes with the small size. ‍I would suggest somewhere else for a Korean food experience. read more

So far the best Korean place I've had in Eugene. Overall, good quality food and the portions are a decent size! They gave us an extra rice portion and side dishes as well. The owners seemed nice and we did takeout because of the whole COVID situation. I ordered: 1. Beef Bulgogi 2. Pork Bulgogi 3. Tofu Soup (Beef Soondubu) 4. Seafood Pancake 5. Kimchi Fried Rice 6. Rapokki The seafood pancake and rapokki were our favorites. Seafood pancake was crispy outside and yummy on the outside (still delicious the next day after a couple of minutes in the air fryer). Rapokki is rice cake, ramen noodles, korean fishcake, and cabbage in a spicy korean sauce. So flavorful and delicious. Perfect balance of sweet and salty. The beef bulgogi and pork bulgogi were good as well. The tofu soup was a good balance of savory and salty, not overly salty and not too bland like some places. I wasn't a fan of the kimchi fried rice though since it was a big plain and there was not enough kimchi for me (also the kimchi was still too cabbage-y and probably didn't get pickled/soaked for long enough). read more

omg this place is so so good i'm not korean but like totally tastes authentic probs the bulgogi is so fire omg

Craving some Korean food so my friend and I decided to come here. I ordered the soondubu with egg, and I was suprised at the size because it was bigger than what you would get at a tofu soup restaurant. It was pretty yummy, perfect to help soothe my sore throat. I also ordered the pork bugolgi with rice and loved how soft and flavorful it was! I also liked their small sides they included, the kimchi was the best one. My friend ordered the pork belly jigae, and she enjoyed it so much she at it at the restaurant 3 days in a row. Overall pretty good with nice customer service! read more

Good food and the daily specials are a great deal. The atmosphere is very quiet and peaceful. Friendly staff too

We love Korea House and the family we feel there. We have our favorites, like Kimche Bibimbop, vegetable pancake, any of the Bulgogoi dishes and my husband's favorite soup Yukgaejang. read more

I went to this restaurant for the first time yesterday. I have to say I enjoyed the meal and the service. All of our party did not show up at the same time so the owners invited us to enjoy tea and water while we waited. Having time and a quite atmosphere in which to converse was great. When our group was all together ordering was a snap all the menu items are pictured on the wall. See what you want and order it. I had cash ready because I had read previous reviews: but they do take credit or had a machine available. The food was good, the only comment anyone had was most places skimp on the meat not the vegetables. There was plenty of meat and the dishes were hot and delicious. The only negative was parking, but when you go to the University district you expect to have parking issues. All in All, a fun lunch! read more

I ordered the mondu ramen (spicy) and it was to die for omg, made to order and came out super quick. The service was great, the family was super nice asked us how the food was and made sure we were all set. Very home like vibes, will definitely be eating here when I visit Eugene again. read more

*CLOSED FOR VACATION UNTIL 9/29/19* Love this place! Family owned and clearly proud of what they do. They offer an extensive menu with pictures of everything available. Ordered spicy pork stone pot bi bim bop, came out sizzling and delicious. We also had toppoki in spicy sauce and it was addictive. Can't wait to come back. read more

Food is fantastic and authentic. The service is prompt and very personal. Run by a husband and wife, the food is just like mom would make.

It's hard to figure out what to eat on campus.I take my lunch with my 1 year old son. We eat together while his Dad has class, and then it's back to work I go! I love this special time just he and I. But I always struggle with finding a place that has a kid-friendly menu, decent pricing, that isn't too far from campus but has easy parking. I may as well be looking for Frog's hidden pot of gold! I usually pass by Korea House in favor of Tasty Thai- it's more familiar but they don't have a high chair and it's usually crowded. I decided to brave the unknown and try something new! The restaurant was empty when I walked in, except for one gentleman near the front leaning over his laptop. An older woman and a man (presumably the proprietors, possibly?) came to the register and watched us walk in. They asked if they could help us. They were very friendly but seemed confused. I was half-expecting them to ask if we were lost. I told them that I had never been in, but wanted to have lunch with my son. They handed me a binder full of pictures that assisted the menu written in English and Korean on the wall. Unfortunately none of the dishes were described. I took a mad stab and went with something safe and something different: Yakisoba with chicken and veggies and steamed buns (I forget the name.) We sat, which was a struggle because "toddler." No high chairs and me without my duct tape! As someone who has attempted to hold and feed an active toddler on one knee with my left arm, and maneuver chopsticks in my right hand, let me first say, "Do not try this at home." Wait, strike that, DO try it at home. DON'T try it at a restaurant unless the owners are as amused as the fine people at Korea House. I should'a charged admission, I swear. The yakisoba was fine, a bit vinegary for my taste, but the veggies were fresh and nice. The bun things were interesting- very bready on the outside and a sweet bean paste on the inside. I did not attempt hot tea or beverages of any kind- are you kidding me?! All the while I was boy-wrangling, I saw the wistful look in a veteran Mother's eye as she went to harass her son, sitting playing on the computer by the register. (I'm assuming here, I don't speak a lick of Korean but I recognize THAT eye-roll when I see it!) I want to like this place. Terrific, gentle people, interesting food. I'd love to come back and try it again sometime I have another set of hands, a high chair at the ready, or that bittersweet day when it is my son hiding behind a laptop in a restaurant, trying to pretend he doesn't know me. read more

Korea House Restaurant - Chicken Yakisoba with vegetables and buns. - Korean Near Me - Eugene, Oregon

I was visiting Springfield, OR for work and needed my Korean kick. Its only been couple of days since my feast back in LA. I looked on Yelp for good Korean place around Springfield/Eugene and couple place were recommended. I picked this place, first based upon the ratings and on the name itself. I took my boss and his family, first time trying Korea food. I played it safe and ordered, Bulgogi, Teriyaki Chicken, Spicy Chicken, Dolsat Bibimbap, Spicy Squid and Chopchae. Everyone enjoyed their meal. I liked the Spicy Squid (I would highly recommend it). ChopChae was okay, would not order it again (I guess I prefer Hana's). My guests enjoyed their meal, they all tried kimchi and became Kimchi fans! I think the place is operated by husband/wife, the lady took our orders and cooked the food. The husband later came and helped with plating, etc. The husband gave us ice cream for free (loved the service). They were very nice and served with smile on their face. Now I cannot compare food here to that of restaurants in LA. However, if you are in Eugene area, I would recommend you try this place. read more

Quick, delicious food. People are nice. It's a casual place to eat. Some cheap specials each day, thus helps out he pocket book. Worth making a trip here. read more

Korea House Restaurant - Seafood Soondubu - Korean Near Me - Eugene, Oregon

One of our fave date night spots! Food is authentic and flavorful. Nice to see a family run business. The owners are Korean so they know their stuff! The wife is the cook, the husband runs the cashier and son helps all around. They don't smile much but are very friendly when you strike up a conversation. The flavors of the food are amazing! Our favorite is the Kim chee fried rice but the price is outrageous at almost $20 for one order. They do have bowl options for around $11 which is just a rice bowl with one entree and usually a good portion for a nice lunch meal. We like supporting small mom and pop operations, definitely a must try if you're craving Korean food in Eugene! read more

Absolutely love the kimchi fried rice and my boyfriend loves the chicken fried rice since he wasnt used to the spicy food. The owners are really nice and recognizes us since we go here so often. 10/10 would recommend read more

Korea House Restaurant - Kimchi fried rice with pork belly and fried egg - Korean Near Me - Eugene, Oregon

This is our first time being in Eugene. We came to this restaurant hoping for good service and good food. I currently have a hearing disorder and I need a trained service dog to accompany me everywhere I go. Next to the door it says "only service dogs, no dogs" and I came in with the tag as well as the ID to show proof and they refused service. Legally service dogs are allowed to go inside any store, restaurant, or airplane of any business. The employees were very rude and unkind, I didn't want to eat there. I'm usually very flexible abt food and places but this time I was rly surprised. Would not recommend. read more

Korea House is a well priced and cute spot to eat. I had their kimchi jjigae ( ) and my girlfriend got the basic chicken yakisoba. The kimchi jjigae is fairly spicy and has a lot of flavor. It contains kimchi, tofu, and onion. Although, you may add pork belly for an extra $3. The banchan, or side dishes, are tasty. Their kimchi is great and I really enjoyed the bean sprouts. Feel free to ask for me with no charge! The shop is owned by an elderly couple and they are very sweet. The man will take your oder while his misses cooks the meals. Korea House is a great spot but it's not the best in town. I would defiantly go again! Helpful tip: There aren't any fountain drinks here, you can only purchase canned soda and other beverages. Enjoy! read more

It's small and somewhat cramped, but in an endearing way. When your food is ready, you'll hear them shout your number and order at you as you make your way through the little maze of tightly packed tables. My bibimbap came with kimchi, fishcakes, and bean sprouts on the side, as well as gochujang for the dish itself. No sesame oil though? I ordered my bibimbap with beef. Nothing was quite as good as I was hoping. All of the flavors were somewhat muted. The place is charming and I hope they stay in business as long as they like. read more

PHENOMENAL! Talk about some authentic Korean comfort food. I just tried this for the first time the other today and now I feel like I need to work this into my weekly budget. High quality, amazing service, good food. There really isn't anything else you can ask for in an excellent meal. 10/10 recommend again and again! read more

If you're Korean and going home with a buddy after school in Korea, you'd expect your friends mom could cook like this. This is not a fine dining experience, it's a Mom & Pop joint. Papa handles the counter and mama cooks her heart out. I have been here 5 or 6 times and I am always tempted but I order my very favorite Korean dish, Dol Sot Bi Bim Bop only they will make it my way - with spicy Pork. I have eaten with others here and watched the other tables. Everything looks and smells great. There are a few minor things I'd change, but overall this is a great comfortable stop for lunch. Menu is rather large . . . no, I mean REALLY LARGE, it's posted on the wall and it's 6 feet square. If you're unsure of Korean, feel free to ask. They will help you understand what to order and how to eat it. read more

Really good korean food! The owners are super friendly and they take pride in their food. Their tokpoki is delicious! It has a much different flavor than any other tokboki in town but I like it the best. It's the most flavorful and the most spicy compared to others. Their bulgogi Is also really good as well as their ja jang myun. The only thing about the ja jang myun is they could put a little more meat in it! Otherwise, fantastic! read more

Spicy Vegetables with Noodles. So spicy! So delicious! Great noodles and flavors! The hot tea was refreshing, even on a hot day like today. Everyone was so nice, attentive and helpful. I was also able to overhear the coolest conversation I've ever heard while eating at a restaurant, about biology and genetics. That was a super plus. :) read more

Pretty good food, I usually get the $7.95 Beef Bulgogi lunch special. It comes with rice and onions and is decently filling for a meal under $8. The restaurant is pretty small and isn't really good for big groups but if you're ever in the area craving Korean food and want to grab a quick bite then I'd recommend this place. The cashier is always extremely friendly to me. They have photo menus available as well, which are extremely helpful. read more

This is the place to eat fresh Korean food. The taste was incredible and the wait was minimal. It's like your inside someone's kitchen. Very cozy place not fancy but tasty if your looking for good Korean food this is the place. They have picture book for menu, but the pictures do not do the dishes justice. Try the rice kimchi a bit spicy. read more

On a recent drive down to Eugene, I looked up Korean restaurants on the yelp app on my phone. I wasn't expecting too much but to my suprise, there were quite a few. I was shocked to see about 5 or 6 places pop up, all with favorable reviews. How can that be? You mean to tell me there's actually Koreans living down in the "country"? So I bookmarked Korea House because it seemed to be the most "authentic" of the bunch. The nav had us going down 13th, so you won't be able to see the restaurant from that main street. It's actually located around the corner tucked away on Hilyard, next to Subway. You'll have to park in the parking structure which is a pain in the a$$ if you ask me. And not to mention that we fed the meter, only later to find out that KH has there own assigned stalls, numbers 11-17. Anyways, when we finally got to the joint, I was suprised that it wasn't your full-blown restaurant. It's more of a mom/pop take out shop with 3 long tables and 2 short ones. You have to order up front and seat yourself, then you have to pick up your own food and clean up after yourself when you're through. So it's not your typical Korean restaurant per se, it's more of a take-out with tables. You serve yourself water and tea, and there's a refrigerator if you decide you want to buy a soda. We ordered the dwaegi bulgogi (spicy pork) $11.95 and meat juhn (egg battered beef) $8.95. I was pleasantly suprised that they had meat juhn considering there's only one joint in Portland that does. When the food was ready, I was a bit disappointed at the portion size. Really. You'd figure for the price and for the simple fact that you serve yourself, they'd give a decent amount. But no, this was not the case. The portions were way too small. The taste of the pork was awesome though, as authentic as can be. And the meat juhn was alright, but nothing compared to Hawaii. But really, the food didn't even come close to filling us up. We made a Mexican food run in Salem less than 2 hours later. I was torn between giving them 3 and 4 stars. 3 stars for the simple fact that it's too expensive for the amount you get, and 4 stars because it tasted really good. I only wish yelp had 1/2 stars to dish out! The owner was a really nice ajeossi and was very friendly. Should I ever end up in Eugene again (which I hope I don't), I'd be more than happy to eat here again. read more

I went in for lunch looking forward to some meat jun after reading the rave reviews on yelp, but was sad to hear that they had to take it off the menu due to the length of time it took to cook it fresh to order. They said their other option was to pre-make it and just warm it up to order, but that would sacrifice quality so they just pulled it all together. Ok, I can respect that! Food was good- tried some pork bulgogi and beef teriyaki. The only thing that would've made it better for me was a little more kick to the bulgogi. The lunch special was a perfect amount of food for me and came with soup and a small serving of beansprouts and kimchee. As many other reviewers have said, the owners are amazingly nice people and I am happy to give them my business. I will definitely be back! read more

This is probably one of the best family-owned Korean restaurants I've been to. Their dolsot bibimbap (stone bowl bibimbap) is hands down my favorite thing on their menu. The best way to eat dolsot bibimbap is to put in the sweet chili sauce and mix everything together in the stone bowl. Then, take spoon and press the mixed rice into the stone bowl and let it sit for a couple of minutes. (That's if you can even wait that long!) You'll come out with some of the yummiest crispy rice ever! There is also kimchi dolsot, too, for the kimchi lovers! For those who love Korean-spicy food, the kimchi jjigae (kimchi stew) is not bad. (It's The Boyfriend's favorite.) I also enjoyed the tofu bibimbap which is NOT served in a stone bowl, but you eat it the same way you would by mixing everything together. The plus about this not-so-hot dish is that I can handle a lot more of that tasty chili sauce. I've also had their kimchi (cold) noodles served with half a hardboiled egg. Since it is chilled, it does take a bit longer to prepare. They slather somen noodles in a spicy sauce with kimchi and bulgogi (Korean sweet bbq beef). Cold noodles after a long day at school really hits the spot. read more

This place has really friendly owners, and they are a cute couple. They were the first two people my wife and I met in Eugene, and they took the time to make us feel welcome to the community. The food it pretty spot on Korean food for this caliber of restaurant. It's a great place to have lunch or an early dinner. Be prepared: if the husband gives you a choice of spiciness, the hottest level will leave you hiccoughing. Luckily you can wash it down with the complimentary barley tea. read more

My new favorite Korean food place to go to when I'm working in Eugene. Came in for lunch and ordered the Chicken Bulgogi and Bacon soup. The food was delicious and piping hot! Many years ago I lived with a Japanese girl whose mother would always tell us: Eat Korean food when you're sick! Korean food does seem to be among the healthiest and spiciest you can find in American Asian restaurants, and the Korea House served us well on many days when we were in need of something to make us feel better! My favorite here has always been the bibimbap. The owners are very friendly too. Only thing I don't like as much is a lack of parking, which is why I don't go often, but I think they get a lot of business from students who just walk over from campus. read more

Small store across the street from my workplace. The food is really good and owners are very friendly. We had the range of dishes 1) yuk gae jang -spicy soup 2) soon doo bu - tofu spicy soup 3) mandoo gook - dumpling soup 4) kimchi jigae - kimchi stew All of the dishes were very good. It's a little mom/pop restaurant. Many of the Korean restaurants are like this in Eugene. Very homey. I had the shrimp fried rice for lunch the other day (not necessarily an authentic Korean food) but it was quite good- much better than what you get Chinese restuarants - IMO. read more

Korea House was the most delicious Korean restaurant I've been to. We got the chicken teriyaki, bulgogi beef, and beef teriyaki specials. All were delicious. I couldn't taste much difference between the beef teriyaki and the bulgogi. The all-day specials are about $8 each--a good deal consisting of a bowl of light soup, a serving of white rice, a serving of mung beans, and the delicious meat. They also have a lunch special from 11-3 that costs only $5.95. I liked the simple and humble atmosphere of cafeteria-style tables, ordering at the counter, self-serve free drinks, plastic food trays, and menu posted on a whiteboard. There were other Asians eating in here so that is a good sign. The lovely young Korean couple running the place recommended we check out Multnomah Falls. Thanks to them for the suggestion--it turned out to be one of my parents' favorite places on their trip. I would definitely stop by again on the way through Oregon. read more
