Self-service water area, with drinks also available for purchase

Discovered this hidden gem in Eugene while on our road trip from California to Washington, a cute mom-and-pop shop near the University of Oregon campus. Menu items were listed with photos/pricing on the walls with specials on the back wall. We all chose specials that were priced fairly at $12 each. Portions were on the smaller side, but it worked out since we didn't have the ability to take leftovers home. Mom took the order, and Pop cooked it. We had chicken bulgogi with noodles, beef bulgogi with noodles, and curry ramyun. All tasted very good! Mom even gave us some veggie pancakes to try on the house - they were yummy! So nice of her! Water was self-service, and we were asked (with signage) to bus our own tables. We would like to come back to try more items if we're ever back in the area!

Korea House is a cute mom and pop shop serving great food. I got the beef bulgogi $13 lunch special that runs all day. No banchan with the meal but that's okay.

Amazing Korean food! We stopped in for lunch and had some Mandu, vegetable pancake, chicken bulgogi, beef bulgogi, kimchi jjigae and banchan. It was all so very good! The vegetable pancake was amazing in itself and the Mandu were awesome as well. Of course the bulgogi's and jjigae were outstanding as was the banchan (cucumber kimchee and blanched sprouts). The owners were super friendly and we chatted a bit. I wish I lived here so that I could frequent Korea House!

5 stars for the friendliness & cleanliness; 3.5 stars for the food. I was craving Korean food and I had this place bookmarked, based on the reviews. I had high expectations, but my overall food experience was "meh." It's a definitely a mom and pop establishment, super casual. It was empty upon my arrival and only 1 person came in for their regular order during my visit. There is no table service--order and pick up at the counter. The menu is photos on the wall with the description and on the nearby fridge with all day specials and some combo items--a picture, after all, is worth a thousand words. I was craving some comfort food...nothing jumped out at me and my usual "go-to" back home is jjajangmyeon (black bean sauce noodles), so that's what I ordered. I was taken aback as this was the first time the noodles and sauce were 1) already mixed and 2) a fried egg served on top. I don't know if the egg is a regional style, but it's the first I've seen. The whole joy of eating jjajangmyeon is mixing the sauce together with the noodles yourself and that joy was taken away. The sauce is usually served on top, sometimes on the side, so you can mix it up. The egg was a new experience. The dish itself was bland, maybe it had too much cabbage in the sauce. There was also an unusual strong black pepper taste in the sauce. My banchan consisted of seasoned bean sprouts and braised potatoes (sweet); pickled radish (단무지) is the standard banchan when eating jajjangmyeon and this was not served; I was a bit sad that I didn't get any kimchi. Maybe their other dishes on the menu are worthy of a 5 star rating, but the jjajangmyeon definitely falls short.

Kimchi Pancake

Finally had the opportunity to give Korea House a try. We split a pork Bulgogi and a kimchi pancake. They both were really good. The Bulgogi was seasoned well and had a sweetness to it. The pancake was crispy on the outside and soft inside. The staff was really friendly and informative. The only thing was that I felt the portion sizes could be larger for the price. Also some types of spicy condiments would have been nice to add some heat to the dishes. Overall, not a bad experience.

Best Korean food I've had ever!! The owners are so kind and welcoming and the location is great near the campus. As authentic as it gets with the hospitality and amazing tasting food. The interior is straight out of the Korean eating videos I love to watch! I am so happy I was able to try it!

Delicious home cooked Korean food by the nicest couple. Well worth a visit. I had soondubu which was a delicious tofu stew that came out piping hot. Highly recommend coming for a visit

Great selection of pickled vegetables. The Bi bim bap is an explosion of color and freshness, textures and colors. Yukgaejang is has rich beef and generous green onions and clear noodles. I recommend the grilled mackeral for rich oily unami. Great food, great atmosphere, and warm service.

I missed the entrance so I parked at the big parking lot adjacent and walked over. I was greeted right away and was seated in a booth. There were a few people enjoying their meals. I ordered the steamed egg as an appetizer and the bi bim bap. The entree comes with an assortment of banchan and I was pleased with the selections. It was fresh and flavorful. I wasn't too happy with the steamed egg. It was dry and felt more like a baked egg. You can smell the baking soda/powder metallic, bitter smell in it. The bi bim bap was good. It came sizzling hot. I think the rice was just a tad wet because it didn't make a nice, even crust on the bottom. Instead, it burned some parts of the rice. As for flavor, most of it had to come from the bottle of 'bi bim bap' sauce that was watered down. After I doctored it a bit, the dish came out perfect. I feel this place has a lot of potential. Prices were a bit on the high end, but this is Eugene and there isn't much or any competition for Korean restaurants here. Overall, good place, good service, clean restaurant and please don't be shy about using full flavor!

Ordered the Ikura onigiri and the Japanese Sweet Potato and the Agadashi Tofu. (I asked for miso butter on the side for me because I have found it overwhelms the potato which is seasoned really wonderfully). The Ikura Onirigi was simple and excellent. My favorite wishes that they would create an regular Onirigi Happy Hour where they are on discount so that those of us who just want to have half a dozen of those and a few drinks can come in and experience our heart's delight. My drink of choice here is the Painkiller -- which is really well balanced and so delicious it's hard not to have a second. Wednesdays are when they have two dollars off the ginger-based drinks and I didn't try it this time but I am keen to the next time because they appear to crush the ginger in house and make their own ginger concoction magic. The bar was thankfully not crowded. As an introvert it was nice to be finishing up and heading out just as more people were coming in.

The place was packed, but thankfully we were seated quite quickly with a 5-10 minute wait. The interior is cozy and welcoming. It's dimly lit with mood lighting on the tables. It felt lively since the tables were packed. We started by ordering the sake and shoyu flights and some fries with wasabi mayo while we explored the rest of their menu. We received the flights quickly. Both flights had 3 flavors and were tasty and fun to try. Each flight comes with a menu describing the flavor profile and how the drinks were made. The flavors of each flight were distinct and matched their descriptions. The fries with wasabi mayo were pretty basic fries. They were well seasoned, had a nice crunch, and the mayo had a subtle wasabi flavor without it being spicy. For our next round we ordered the salmon misoyaki, butternut squash, tofu kushiyaki, and steak kushiyaki. Unfortunately, our server forgot to bring our butternut squash, but we ended up being full with the rest of the food we ordered and just took it off our order. The salmon misoyaki was delicious - perfectly cooked, tender, and well seasoned. The mustard greens on the side added a nice sourness. The tofu kushiyaki was tender and flavorful. The steak kushiyaki was well-seasoned, but more well done than I preferred and a little tough. Next, we ordered the spinach goma ae and umeboshi unigiri. The spinach goma ae was such a pleasant surprise! It's a chilled spinach dish with a tamari/black sesame sauce that was refreshing mid-meal. Really good umami flavor! The umeboshi onigiri had the expected sharp salty/sour flavor that balanced well with the ratio of rice. Ended up dipping the umeboshi onigiri in the goma ae sauce to get every last drop. For dessert we ordered the basque cheesecake and créme brûlée. The cheesecake was just okay. The menu said there was sake and black sesame flavors, but apart from some black sesame dust on the plate we couldn't taste the sake/sesame. The texture was thick and not super smooth. It was a pretty heavy dessert and not very sweet. The créme brûlée was yummy. The custard was smooth and the crunchy caramelized sugar on top was a nice contrast in texture and flavor. The service itself was slow. We were waiting around 15 minutes between orders. Given, it was a busy night. However, we felt a bit forgotten as our server did forget to bring one of our dishes, we had to ask for our dessert menus twice, and we were accidentally served two basque cheesecakes instead of our order of cheesecake and créme brûlée. The staff were friendly, and quickly brought out the correct desserts at the end. I'd recommend ordering more dishes at once so you can enjoy more food in between orders. Would definitely come back again to try the rest of their menu. We wanted to try the Japanese sweet potato but they had sold out that night. The oysters, sashimi, and udon also looked quite good!
