Halibut and fries - French fries and breaded fish fillets are presented on paper trays, with the fries in a small paper container and the fish fillets on a separate tray. A person's hand is holding a fry above the food. The setting appears to be a casual dining or fast-food restaurant, with a table surface and some paper packaging visible in the background.

Food was good just make sure you separate fish when get it or will get soggy . Fries were tasty service was great and the decor simple. They do have seating outside which was basic but nice to eat lunch outdoors.

Cod fish - The image shows two pieces of fried fish, one a fillet and the other a block, on a paper-lined tray. The fish has a golden-brown, crispy breaded coating. The background includes crumpled white paper, suggesting the food is served in a takeout or casual dining setting.

Very generous portions. Always appreciated. Cod breaded nicely. Nice and crisp. Flavorful. One piece was a little salty unfortunately, that's never happened before. But the rest was good. Lots of fries. Tartar or cocktail sauce available as well as ketchup. I love their tartar sauce it's always consistent and flavorful and compliments the fish well. Very filling and good. Timely order to pickup. Fountain drinks also available. My go to for fish in chips. Even preferred over places on the coast. Just that good.

Coconut shrimp - Fried chicken tenders are placed in a small paper tray, accompanied by a portion of French fries in a separate paper container. The food is set on crumpled white paper, with small cups of ketchup visible in the background. The presentation suggests a casual dining or takeout setting.

I am used to going to the location on Willamette, but we were near here and had a hankering for some seafood, so we decided to go here. I ordered the shrimp and my son had the cod, both with chips. The shrimp were sweet and cooked perfectly and my son very much enjoyed the cod as he usually does. The staff here were great and nice to see that this location doesn't charge for refills, but I don't know if the other location on Willamette does that now, its been a while since going there. Also inside can get tight, they do have a nice sized outdoor shaded area. The prices have risen quite a bit from when we started going to Newman's, but as a once in a while splurge, it hits the spot!

Coleslaw - A clear plastic bowl contains partially eaten coleslaw made of shredded cabbage and carrots, with a white plastic fork resting inside. Next to it is a small cup of tartar sauce. In the background, there is a basket lined with white paper holding fried fish pieces. The items are placed on a metallic surface, likely a table at a casual dining or takeout setting.

We stopped for lunch here. I'd say the food is reasonably priced for the quantity and quality. We bought: 1 serve of cod fish (3 small pieces) and chips $10 1 serve of shrimp (6 pieces) and coleslaw $10 I didn't realize they were breaded. I would've preferred batter. My fault, I should've asked rather than assumed. Fries were good. Shrimp was excellent. Fish was okay. Lots of tarter sauce. Good seating indoor and outdoor patio. Good service. You have a choice of coleslaw or fries so that was nice!

The scallops and chips are the best. I eat here regularly. If not the scallops the prawn rolls are great.

Everything's great, except for the cole slaw. It's dry and flavorless. They really need to put some vinegar or some kind of dressing in it.

Excellent food. Wait is usually longer than I'd like, but when I'm on this side of the river it's my go to for lunch.

No fancy bells, no whistle and just honest, no-frills service and fish so fresh you'd swear it still had stories to tell. I wandered in and found a small seating area tucked away, nothing flashy, just folks there for the same reason: good food. And good food it was. The fish was fresh, cooked right, and full of flavor and none of that overworked nonsense, just straight-up tasty. If you're looking for glitz, keep wandering. But if you want a solid meal that feels like it came straight off the boat, this is your spot. I'd happily cast my line here again. I am sad my daughter is graduating because I most likely won't have a chance to be back . Sad !!

My wife wanted soup or chowder so we tried Fisherman's Market in Eugene. Excellent choice! We shared a bowl of the clam chowder, a bowl of the seafood stew, and a couple pieces of fried salmon. Best decision ever. The stew was tomato based, lots of fish and just a bit of heat. The New England chowder was flavorful with lots of clams and potatoes. Salmon was equally good; the coating was light and their homemade tartar sauce very good. They offer 6 other sauces besides tarter and ketchup, which is a nice option. They have live fish and seafood, plus cases of whole crabs, fish filets and much more. Their cole slaw looked really good, but we had already eaten. Eugene is only 2 hours from home; we will be stopping there again.

Great views of the historic Yaquina bay while seated on 1 of 2 levels. My wife and I love it all! Our favorite delish dish is Grilled Hoisin Blackcod (super omega 3) with asparagus, green beans, oranges, shiitake mushroom, onion, red bell pepper, yakisoba noodles and sesame seeds. So scrumptious blackcod brandade special of the day with cured blackcod, Kennebeck potato, olive oil, sour cream, confit garlic, sharp white cheddar - baked gratin style with soubise sauce of spring onion and cream butter - wow! Asparagus side dish prepared with a pefect crunch not over cooked. The "Best" anywhere Dungeness crab cake you'll bite. Oh, canned hook and line caught albacore tuna to go. And we are going back 2 days in a row for more more more fresh seafood!

Nate 2026 Newport, Oregon…read more Came here based on recommendations from somebody in Bend, Oregon, and a local. I will start by saying I was not impressed. We had a reservation and they took us in a few minutes early and sat us upstairs. We sat near the window that overlooks the harbor and could see it from our table. Very pretty. There is a bar area and other tables that are away from the window that don't have the same view. When we were approached by the waitress, she informed us that they were out of Dungeness crab. Our reservation was at 6:15 PM. Seems a bit odd that a town known for Dungeness crab and the restaurant doesn't have it during peak dinner hours. My husband ordered a cup of clam chowder, and I ordered a cup of the Dungeness crab soup. I loved the creaminess of my soup. However, it was not served hot. Also, there were so many shells in my soup that every bite I had to remove one from my mouth. I do believe that the roux sauce had too much flour and was not mixed well. The clam chowder was not creamy, but had a good flavor. Chunks of carrot and celery. Both soups were served with a portion of bread. The bread was good. We shared the salmon dish. We asked our waitress if we could have the peas on the side as my husband has an allergy to peas. She was quick to tell me that there would be no substitutions. I informed her I was merely asking for the peas to put on a separate dish when brought to the table. She said that she would need to clear it with the kitchen first. Apparently, they approved, as the peas were served on the side. We did enjoy the salmon. It is cooked, medium rare. However, the middle of the salmon fillet was more rare. The buttery sauce was delicious and the asparagus was cooked very well. The mushrooms were delicious. The restaurant is very casual. The outside is not much to look at. The service was fine, but not exceptional. The food was good, but my expectations were so much higher for all of the accolades I had heard prior to dining. They add an automatic tip of 20% to every tab. Then on the bill, they politely ask for an additional gratuity. See the picture of the reason for their 20% gratuity on each bill in the photos that I have attached. I would give this restaurant four stars. It is a B rating for what should be an A restaurant.
