We walk in and this place is tight. We see an abundance of tables for two. There are a couple of larger tables towards the back of the room. I'm not sure I understand the motif here as it is obvious that everything there seemed to be a distressed theme and run down, intentionally. The place looked clean enough, just not sure I understand the style of making your place look tired and exhausted, but it is intentional, nobody can possibly do that bad of a paint job on accident, holy cow LOL! Apparently though, this place is supposed to be a hopping location. Several Yelpers I know have given it high marks, so we get a table for four and try it out. This is a small location and driving up, I couldn't even see the small sign out front, it was covered with tree branches. Entering the restaurant we find ourselves standing in a small narrow hallway by a register. As luck would have it, a table for four was available, so we were led down a very narrow path between tables and seated at the back. The tables were an interesting shape but were very roomy and comfortable. Service was very nice. They were courteous and informative and willing to chat about the menu items. The menu itself was surprisingly full with a wide range of options. I opted for the Doña Ana chicken sandwich. It was crisp, hot and delicious. There was a surprise from a little spice heat, not sure if that was the aioli, but overall this sandwich was worth it. The veggies were crisp fresh and cool while the meat was a moist crispy chicken that was hot, the cheese was melted nicely. The ciabatta bun was also well done in that it held together very well and tasted fresh. I had a side of fries and they were the variety that is very crispy and has that baked appearance, not oily in the slightest. The London Fog Tea was far superior to the house coffee (I had a cup of coffee before I found the London Fog). I was very satisfied with the quality and taste of this meal, I'm willing to go back and try some other items. I just don't understand the Stressed Look fashion being desirable these days, the curse of being a Boomer I suppose. I'll be back to try more things though, the food here really is tasty.

Reuben Sandwich Tomato cheddar soup

We recently dined at the Glenwood I had the Ruben sandwich it was ok I probably would not order it again, not a lot of meat and just didn't feel like I was eating a traditional Ruben had it with side of their tomato cheddar soup it had good flavor need some cream it was pretty thick . My husband had the Montana omelette he really liked it said it was very good that is what he usually gets and he is never disappointed. My daughter orders a bacon cheese egg white omelette with peppers and extra bacon on side she also really enjoyed it. Of course the raspberry jam was delicious like always :) I have had really good meals here in the past just the Reuben not for me. we will Be back, The service was great and they were very friendly . I always enjoy the atmosphere due to it being small and it is definitely a great Eugene restaurant to come and try. :)

Side salad in place of fries

I was in the area and between appointments so I decided to stop and try lunch at Glenwood. The interior is styled like a cozy diner and a lot of seniors like me were there. I have been wanting a patty melt for a while so I ordered my patty melt medium rare and a side salad with blue cheese dressing in place of fries. My server took my order and someone else delivered my food. I just had ice water with my meal, but no one ever came around to refill my glass. The side salad was surprisingly good as it had garbanzos and beets on a fresh bed of mixed greens I was very disappointed in the patty melt as the tasty marble rye bread was very greasy and the preformed patty was very dry. The red onions were cut pretty thick and were barely sautéed. I could not tell if there had been a slice of cheese in the sandwich or if it was just some type of cheese sauce. The breakfast menu may be my choice the next time I am in the area.

Great menu!

The Glenwood has improved over the past few years, IMHO. Food and service is great and you get that homemade, friendly vibe there. Be it breakfast or lunch, you really can't go wrong and over the last year, can't say I have had anything bad from the food to service. Worth the stop when in the area.

I love Glenwood. It's such a cute brunch/lunch spot. I come here all the time. It gets busy on the weekends so they do have a waitlist. The interior is super cozy and rustic. The menu is huge and everything is delicious. It's great if you want a hearty meal. I love the blt sandwich and their sweet potato fries. Service is great, all the employees are very friendly and accommodating.

The food is absolutely amazing. Took my adult daughter for brunch for her birthday it was absolutely amazing the service was just as amazing the waiter so nice brought a blueberry muffin out with a candle for my daughter. The pancakes are probably the best I've had in a restaurant they had a vanilla flavor so good & the eggs Benedict was perfect! I highly recommend

Their takeaway family meals are a STEAL!! We also went for breakfast once, it's a typical ihop style old fashioned diner.

With that meal you will experience actual satisfaction and contentment. That's the first thing I have to say in case you're reading for a recommendation of what to order. Even better if you have it late night after experiencing the best Handel's Messiah concert at the Hult in December. I had a small slider of corned beef along with his amazing fresh Kale salad garnish with shaved Parmesan, walnuts, added protein -- sausage. It came with a toasted slice of soda bread that was great. But the slider was how I realized the corned beef was PERFECTLY prepared. A taste was not enough; I decided to get the dinner plate version to take the next day up to Seattle with me. Fantastic staff included Barkeep Illyia, whose birthday it was. She kept up a steady stream of attentive care, skillful service, friendly banter with each of the clients that came in and said good by to them as they left. Hospitality was her middle name. Love that they have mugs for the regulars hanging from the ceilings, the bar space is great but so are the arm chairs and cushioned seats in the corners of the pub. I even ran into two other concertgoers who had also been so energized after the Messiah concert that they didn't want to go home. We spent a half hour at the bar unpacking the highs and best points of the performance by the Eugene Symphony Orchestra, and the symphony choir, and each of the soloists. We also unanimously agreed the tenor was fantastic, the baritone a paragon of artistic talent, the soprano sang incandescently, and that the final AMEN movement was soul healing and mind blowing simultaneously. Yeah. It was that good. This place was the right place to come to unpack it all over a Guinness and the best corned beef and cabbage in town. Love that it was open late enough to enjoy after the concert. Will be back.

It was thick slab corned beef, perfectly tender. I also got their pretzel with the beer cheese sauce. To be honest, the beer cheese wasn't my favorite...was a little gooopy and the texture wasn't great. But, the pretzel was fantastic. It has the salt, the chew, and it was a great size. I also got their colcannon. It was great! Creamy and delicious. I ordered their brown gravy too because I like gravy with my potatoes and it was hearty and a big side for the price. All in all, i definitely recommend the pint pot!
