I ordered a couple of meals to go and it was only 15"! I had a #10-chow mein, shrimp, S/S pork, pork fried rice=3.5 stars, next meal was pork fried rice, pork fried rice, S/S chicken=1 Star. I guess they ran out of S/S chicken, so they took a bread patty and sliced it lengthwise and put S/S sauce over it. This is not the way that it is traditionally made. The should have stated that they ran out of s/s chicken and explain the difference and was that acceptable. They did not. So, next time I will ask them if there are any substitutions. Or just open it and take a look at it. Which I shouldn't have to do!!! I should have saved it and returned it for a refund. read more

A nice Chinese American restaurant tucked into a strip mall. Place offers the typical combo meals you would expect in a place like this and also more of the other dishes you would also expect to find. Fast friendly service and at least in my time there placed seemed very busy with take out orders and sit down. Food was good, nothing over the top good but I what I ordered I woulds say there is not much change from place to place. Would not hesitate to come back here again. read more

I ordered #13 with pork fried rice, mar far chicken and sweet and sour pork, plus extra sweet and sour sauce on the side for the chicken so it doesn't get soggy. Beloved bride had a board meeting (I'm thankfully NOT invited) which leaves me between an hour and a half to three hours. I've been looking for a menu with several items as a complete meal. Ocean Seafood fit the criteria. Soup, and many combinations of entrees. I ordered the #17, subgum chicken chow mien (note that this does not include noodles), pork fried rice and pork foo yung. The place was busy and there were few free tables. My order was taken in a reasonable time span, food came hot and ready and my glass of water was attended. The area reminded me of my youth in Los Angeles, linoleum flooring, Chinese brick-a-brack and generic dinnerware. It wasn't un-good per se, but not a place that I'm in a huge hurry to return to. My husband and I discovered this place in the middle of the plague, so I've never actually eaten in the restaurant, just done takeout on multiple occasions. The food is the standard stereotypical Americanized Chinese food, but they do it well. Portions are large and inexpensive. I always do one of the combination dishes with chow mien, sweet and sour chicken, and fried rice. My husband orders something different each time. Customer service is good. They don't exactly go out of their way to do anything fabulous, but they aren't rude either. Orders are correct about 90% of the time. I can only remember twice that they screwed up an order, one missing the sweet and sour chicken entirely. How you manage that one, I'm still not sure. But it happens, and since it is rare and during the plague, I wasn't complaining, as I knew that was a challenge in itself. It is the only Chinese food in the Thurston area, so they definitely have a corner on that market for people looking for something close to home there. It is still better than Lok Yaun, but not as good as Chopstix. Would I return? Yes. For the price and amount of food, it's a good deal to fill me and my husband up, and still have some leftovers. Most of the food did not have much flavor, The best dish was the garlic tofu! The pork fried rice had mince pieces of pork. Wasn't flavorful at all. The shrimp lo mein needed some flavor, it was a bit dry. When I arrived, I asked for garlic chili sauce. The lady gave me two, The container was small less then one 1oz. I told her I got a lot of food, can I have more. She handed me three more, They were so small, I could use three on one dish, I spent over $100. I used to love this place but after seeing how the manager treats people and then how he treated me and my wife today I will never return. The food is great but I will not be treated that way. My wife does not eat chicken, beef or, pork so she ordered a shrimp dish. When we saw some unidentifiable meat mixed in the manager was very rude and walked away. Then the lady who brought the food told us it was chicken... I said it was not on the menu as an ingredient and she too was dismissive... like we were idiots for not knowing they fill their shrimp with lobster sauce with ground chicken. I have yet to find a really good chinese restaurant in the Springfield/ Eugene area but this one is not too bad. Yes most of the items have tempura fried meat with some sauce poured over it (must be popular in Oregon as all chinese places do this) but they do offer entrees that have the veggies that most chinese places lack. I like thier dinner specials here as you can try different things like the lo mein or the sum gum,. Keeps me interested in coming back to try more new dishes at a reasonable price. If ordering to go, be ready for a wait as they do alot of to go service, but if you eat there the service is pretty fast and very friendly. .If you like trying interesting dishes order the coconut chicken. It is on the sweet side for a main entree, but the coconut and the chicken make a surprisingly good combination. Don't be bothered with any of thier dim sum on the menu,. We live nearby. 5ish years ago, this place was a 5. The last couple of years, we have had repeated disappointing meals. We always order orange chicken and lo mein. The lo mein is now soggy, flavorless noodles. The chicken used to be tender but is now rubbery and too salty. This last time, the rice was really dry.
