Always great service, food, and clean. Go to take out spot. Always a pleasure to stop by.

The food was very good with the exception of the egg foo young. It tasted like an overstuffed with cabbage previously frozen egg roll. Dry and with a strange texture. The chow fun was tasty and made with fresh noodles. The fried chicken was really really good. The Mongolian beef was also very good. Tofu was delicious. Portion sizes and price was acceptable. Yes. The place was dated but I thought it had kind of an old world charm. Everything was clean, which is important to me. Salt shakers, tables, chairs. All very clean. Service acceptable. Maybe it's time for the owners to retire. read more

The restaurant has been in Springfield for a long time and you can tell when you walk in it's out dated and needs a face lift. The food is always nice and hot always made to order. I never had a bad experience from this restaurant. The staff is very friendly and kind. So happy they are still in business!!!! Give them a try you won't regret it and if you get the egg rolls the size of them makes it worth your money!!! read more

Absolutely love Great Wall Restaurant in Springfield! The food is always fresh, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. Their portions are generous, the prices are fair, and the service is consistently friendly. I especially appreciate how quickly the food comes out, whether dining in or ordering takeout. Everything tastes authentic and well-seasoned without being too heavy. If you're looking for delicious Chinese food in the area, Great Wall is definitely a go-to spot. Highly recommend! read more

This is an "old school," 'Americanized' Chinese restaurant. The prices are affordable & it's a notch or two above say, " Panda Explosion," not to mention I like supporting small, local, non-franchise eating establishments. The Great Wall is ran by only the husband & wife couple for many years now. It's a cornerstone for the old downtown area in Springfield. Tammy is the hostess, waitress, cashier, etc., & she is always so nice, polite, & friendly when I have patronized this establishment. If you're looking for some Americanized Chinese food & you're a baller on a budget, then I totally recommend this place. read more

waitress friendly and food delicious, especially sweet and sour chicken and vegetables with chicken. egg rolls were large and not greasy. lots of vegetables in dishes focused on vegetable. quaint bathroom fixtures and furniture including traditional fans and art work. read more

If I could leave 0 stars I would, spent $60 (not including tip) to pick up a meal for my family of four all for it to taste bland and I don't even know... old?? Customer service seemed nice at first but when we called to say that none of us could finish our plates because we all were disappointed the manager replied with "everyone loves that meal" okay.... Who's everyone your restaurant is empty. Anywho learned my lesson and paid the price definitely will not be coming back. read more

Food was acceptable and CHEAP. Décor was passable but very worn and tired. Once we went outside I started to notice that there was dried sewage and all that you'd expect to see with it out on the walkways and parking lot of this place. I have a strong stomach, but this was difficult to walk through. Won't be back read more

Small family owned and operated for many years, I've been going there many years, and they are consistently good--food, service-- you get what you are used to and expect. One of the only restaurants around Eugene-Springfield that has not bit the dust in quality. I think because the owner & his wife do the cooking and serving is one reason. read more

I really like the service. There are cheap lunch specials. Food it simple but tasty. If you're looking for inexpensive Chinese that isn't all fried it's great. She always asks if we want more veggies which I appreciate. read more

Edible but nothing outstanding. Typical Americanized Chinese. We ordered To Go and thought the meat portion of the combination plate was a bit skimpy, plus there was no sauce included for the Mar Far. Meh. read more

Some of the blandest tasting food I've had in a while. Paid $70 for a couple handfuls of meat total in 3 different meat dishes. Everything was more veggies even though I ordered broccoli with beef it had every veggie with about 7 sad looking pieces of beef. Very disappointed and wondering if anywhere in Oregon has good Chinese food. read more

You need to try the Great Wall chicken wings! So crispy and amazingly tasty! Also really liked the chow fun. it was made out of fresh noodles, not dried ones! read more

This is my favorite Chinese restaurant in the area. If your looking for overpriced food and stuffy service don't come here. The staff our friendly and the food is always fresh and delicious. This is an American old fashioned Chinese restaurant that I think you will enjoy. read more

I've been coming here for a decade. Tonight at 4 pm on Saturday night I was the only one there. When I got home with our food my bbq pork noodles had nothing but pork and noodles. Non of the usual vegetables with it. To be honest I think this is Donald Trump's fault. I mean how does he call our economy BETTER if this poor restaurant is trying to survive. With this much business I can understand why there is no vegetables. So please people let's go give these people some business so they can survive Donald Trump. I'll go back soon. The pork noodles was still good. My mate says his beef chow mein was it's usual way. My daughter's family whose husband is a retired Veteran and in a union says their family has about $11,000 less to spend under Trump. Republicans...they are NOT in entitlement programs he works in one of your Nuclear plants making it safe. Trump is not helping this economy unless you like buying yachts. read more

We come here as a family quite often. I have been a faithful customer 37 yrs! We enjoy the quiet establishment and the great food. We have been to many other restaurants and this remains my favorite! Welcome to the Great Wall (of Springfield) Quiz. Ready to get started? Let's go. One of the three statements below is true; can you determine which it is? A.) Some say that this fine establishment is the only man made building visible from outer space. B.) Great Wall features Umatilla Chemical Depot Brand Hot Mustard provided by the friendly folks at UCD Mess Hall. Also available is a "Zesty Pink" nuclear sweet and sour as part of the Hanford Site commissary kitchen program. Check out the federal site for more details at: http://www.hanford.gov/ C.) One young male once went to the Great Wall and decided that, like most other Chinese restaurants in the area, the food was mediocre at best. He also decided that since the lunch special was only $4.25 and came with egg flower soup and tea, he'd likely visit again. (If you guessed C you are incorrect, correct answer is B) read more

I'm all about cheap food with cheap ingrediants. This place just didn't do it for me. Clientele consisted of overweight 50 year old guys by themselves on their lunch hour. The food was under par, didn't have the it factor. Server was nice, but she would dissapear in the back for long periods. Especially when I was ready to leave I waited a good 10 minutes to let her know I wanted to pay and leave. read more

It's been years since I've been here, but I still remember the great wall chicken wings.... a cult favorite among indonesian UofO students. Well, that's the ONLY thing I remember about this place. It's THAT good. Especially the sauce, and the crispiness.... Ohhh.... I'm having a flashback to my college days.... Oh yeah, the owner lady was nice too. read more

We are always looking for a new Chinese restaurant. We were very happy with Great Wall. I thought the price was steep when I ordered but when I went to pick it up, it was worth every penny! Portion sizes are large and the food was good. We were not a fan of the orange chicken but the mushroom beef was fantastic as was the special fried rice and marfar chicken! The sauce all comes on the side which was great so we didn't have to toss out the chicken that came for the orange chicken. We will be returning! read more

I'm so sad over this place. When we order Chinese for a family, we expect our family to eat. For our family of 6 tonight... -They shorted us soup, "because it's to-go" -They Up charged us for egg fo yung from almond chicken, then shorted us a pattie -They shorted us a couple of crab puffs In all, for 6 people, we got 3 egg rolls, 8 crab puffs, 12 fried shrimp, 4 egg fo yung patties And one each- fried rice, chow mein. Beef and broccoli, sweet and sour pork. Not nearly enough for a family witha tennaged boy, and not nearly worth over $75. This was our third and final time trying this Chinese food. read more

Service is excellent, very friendly and attentive. I thought that the food is quite good for the price. It was quite inexpensive - we had a 2-person family meal for $20, and we even had leftovers. For "Americanized Chinese" I would totally come back. read more

The crispy chicken wings are a must. The place is old and dingy but overall food is good.

Great Wall Restaurant - Chinese Near Me - Springfield, Oregon

First time my brother & I went into the restaurant and ate a "sit down" meal, the food was decent. And, yes, the restaurant was completely empty at 6:00 pm. Yes, it should have said stay away!!! Tonight, we placed an order to go for the "Happy Family Dinner" combination for 2 --- and I wish I had just kept going. EVERYTHING was absolutely awful. The pork fried rice was hard and tasteless. Even the addition of soy sauce did not help. The sweet and sour pork was tasteless mush. The pork chow mein must have been made with overcooked spagetti - it just tasted like old flour - and the veggies were overcooked. The crab puffs were old and awful and the "egg roll' was crispy but tasteless. We wondered if these were all leftovers. When we called to complain, they said, Oh, yes, they had many unsatisfied customers, but offered no replacement or refund. There was literally nothing nice I could say about the food this restaurant serves it's customers. So, if you like to eat expensive, crappy food that anyone would be ashamed to serve to starving homeless people, in a restaurant that is perpetually clean because they have no customers, this is the place for you. What are they selling here that allows these people to stay in business??? It ain't Chinese food. read more

The Great Wall is a above average Chinese American restaurant nestled on busy Main street in Springfield across the street from the Toyota dealership. This review might a little biased because I know the family that runs the place and even went to high school with their son. Appearance The restaurant looks outdated and it shows. The booths and chairs don't look right together and there are minor tears in the fabric which gives the place a rundown look and feel to it when combining the look for the wallpaper and lighting. The bathroom is very awkward to use and looks very unclean even though they do clean it. Menu Being called " The Great Wall" you'd think they would serve Chinese food, right? They do and it's hit and miss on most of the menu. There is a daily special for about $5.00 and it's never changed the whole time I've known them. The soups can be passed on for the most part, but the Great Wall Chicken and Sweet & Sour pork are very well done and worth trying. The Chicken Kung Pow and anything with vegetables are also good. They also have a American menu, but I'd stay away from anything American, as it most likely will be frozen. (Burger, Fries, Chicken nuggets, etc.) Price The plate portions are decent but nothing compared to Lok Yuan. Prices haven't changed too much for the past couple years. Service The place is ran by a two person crew. Just a friendly Cantonese couple. Food is made relatively fast after ordering. The Great Wall is a quick place to get good food. They need to update the menu and maybe the restaurant's curb appeal along with new interior, but it can be overlooked. read more

TERRIBLE! Probably the worst Chinese food I have had in 20 years or more. WAAAAY! too expensive for what we recieved. We ordered the two person Canton meal and got very little for our $25 price tag. The egg drop soup was not near as good as other similar places (and had corn in it?). The food portions were small and the table was sticky plus we were given a dirty napkin. The pork rice tasted old, and the crackers were stale. The crab puffs had little to no filling, and the plum sauce tasted terrible almost like they added some sort of seafood flavoring to it. The best I can say is the tea was good. We will never return and tell everyone we know about our experience. read more

The food was edible, but not really enjoyable. They lose points for only having egg flower soup, and it wasn't very good at that. The service was quick and friendly, but that doesn't make the food taste good. I doubt I'll be back. read more
