Came here for father's day after hearing that they make some of the best Dumplings in town. Left full and blown away. Im a total dumpling head and somehow didnt know this place existed. Its tucked away in a weird spot but parking was no issue and we could smell the food as soon as we got out of the car even though we were still a ways off from the door. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The inside has a semi industrial look with 20 foot high ceilings. There is a lot of wall art, much of which is dumpling themed. Its clean and relaxing with a few random tvs in case you want to watch the game.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The Dumplings are all home made, fresh and juicy. We got the pork Dumplings which were very dense with a rich flavor and the shrimp and chive ones which were much lighter in texture and very delicious. Mr Dumplings has quickly become one of our favorite food spots in Eugene! So many options but our favorites are hands down the soup dumplings! They are delicious and always hit the spot. Every noodle dish we tried are comforting and perfectly cooked. My newest fave has to be the chicken curry bao bao though!! Which is surprising because I'm not a huge fan of curry! They are amazing! I'm always on the hunt for good quality, extra flavorful dumplings of all varieties. Steamed, boiled, pan fried. I'm an equal opportunity dumpling lover. And Mr. Dumpling delivered, I'm happy to say. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I've been to China, lived in NYC and ambiance and service are no indicators of the quality of dumpling. In fact often the nicer the place the less authentic the dumpling. However this place seemed to strike the right balance.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I always start with wontons in spicy oil as a measurement. These were plentiful in filling and spice. Followed it up with some pan fried soup dumplings. These were good, but they were a lot bigger than I was anticipating. They are not a small dumpling. I think if I were to do pan fried again, I might do a different dumpling. But the filling was delicious. I was there for lunch so I didn't get a lot to eat. I dropped in to try Mr Dumpling as friends had recommended. I was sure what I wanted. I chose Wanton Noodle soup. They had wanton soup and I asked for noodles to be added. The wanton soup was $10.00 and the addition of noodles was $4.00. So it totaled at $14.00. A good price for a large bowl of soup. I got my order reasonably quickly and it was delicious. Not to salty as I have noticed in other establishments. Very delicious and a large number of wantons. They had a tray with condiments to choose from and I chose garlic chili oil. I place the oil on the plate and dipped my wontons in it. It was so good! I will be back and I highly recommend this establishment. read more

I have been to Mr Dumpling a handful of times in the last 6 months and it never disappoints. The staff here are on top of it! It feels very comfortable and welcoming. Now for the food. Dumplings are really solid the soup dumplings or pan fried are really tasty. The condiments are traditional and the chili crunch oil is da bomb. Their menu has something for everyone, noodles. Wow! I'm usually VERY picky about my Schezuan Chinese food and this was a solid offering! Julie and I needed a quick late lunch out on Good Pasture Island Road and are tired of the options at Valley River and decided to check out Mr Dumpling. First impression, the place was clean and quiet. Staff were really nice. Everything came quickly and was plated nicely. So far, so good! We ordered an order of Pan-fried Pork Bao Zi (6), Dan Dan Noodles, and Kung Pao Chicken. The bao were fluffy with a nice amount of filling. They had soy sauce and hot chili oil as expected and also black vinegar which was very tasty with the bao. Dan Dan Noodles had nice flavor as well as a pile of fresh veggies. Very tasty. THIS PLACE IS IT. OMG I'm still thinking of their wontons in chili oil (nearly daily, is that sad?) and I already have a short list of items I want to try on my next visit to Mr. Dumpling! Although I'm also considering just ordering like 3 orders of those delightful wontons and just ask them to be served in a giant bowl with a pint of chili oil. They are THAT good. We visited early on a Monday evening (just before 5) and by the time we left the place was definitely filling up. Our dishes were prepared quickly and excellently, service was impeccable and super friendly. Our table ordered said wontons, pan fried pork dumplings, BBQ Pork Bao buns and the noodles with chicken stir fry. Again, it was all soooo tasty! Great food. Great service. They were very kind to my kids who hadn't eaten this type of food before. The drinks were wonderfully different than normal drinks. Still great our second time going in! Making our way through the menu and tried 3 new dishes this time; barbecue pork, wontons in chili oil, and chicken fried noodles. All dishes were great! I'm happy that while we were there they were getting fuller and fuller, great for their business! Food is great, not overhyped. Soup dumplings are phenomenal, hoping to see maybe more variety in the future. Service is always friendly. The decor in here is super classy and nice, gives off a romantic vibe for sure for a night out. Wish they had soju too, but otherwise everything is top notch and there's a good variety. First time poster, long time lurker. Wow, just wow! This place was Gross! Microwaved BBQ pork, slapped on a plate and thrown in the microwave long enough for the individual slices to become one piece of rubber. Hot chili dumplings were mediocre and tasted freezer burnt. "Special Brisket" more like unremarkable grizzle, I wouldn't feed it to my dog. Vegetable Spring Rolls, made from some mixture of puréed carrots and cabbage. The cucumber salad was likely the only thing prepared in the kitchen onsite. Everything served is frozen and microwaved. Not sure how this place has as many positive ratings as it does. After reading reviews I was excited to try this place and I really wanted to give a good review but overall I would say everything was ok. The restaurant itself had a beautiful and clean interior. We placed an order to go. Portions would good sized, except for the rice. Request a double portion if you need a lot. We ordered the Secret Beef Brisket; Eggplant w/Garlic Sauce; and Vegetable Spring Rolls. The Eggplant contained some green bell pepper pieces but not really enough where it seemed part of the dish. I also ordered it medium spicy but it had no spice to it and was a little too sweet to my liking. That was quickly remedied by their house chili oil which smelled delightfully of toasted sesame and chilis. The Secret Beef Brisket was mild and contained a mix of vegetables- zucchini, potatoes, bell peppers. The Vegetable Spring Rolls were hot and fresh and came with standard packets of sweet and sour sauce, to my disappointment. We will probably give them another try when we can dine in and try something different their menu as other reviews were positive.
