Yes, yes, yes...to this place! Yakimandu is life and this place does it the way I remember having it in Seoul! The owners are amazing and this place keeps the food quality true to what it is! Meaning you get the freshest foods and you get their natural flavors blended with those staple Korean flavors! I cannot wait to go back I'm craving Yaki and some Korean ramen. Which pardon my bias opinion, but I prefer Korean ramen to Japanese. I think I need more kimchi and fermentation my life lately. We discovered Kinyobi on a whim after a few beers at The Alementary brewery, which was only 2 blocks away.  While it looked like mainly a take-out spot, it also offered a handful of nice tables and a spotless dining area.  The two women working the cash register and servicing the tables were extremely friendly and welcoming. I ordered the Beef Bulgogi Bibimbap, which came with a complimentary Miso Soup to start.  The broth was packed with miso paste, making it rich and flavorful, and the included cubes of tofu were like soft little pillows.  The Bibimbap was served in a plastic cup, rather than a stone pot, so the brown rice did not have the traditional crisp, but it was a satisfying meal nonetheless.  The spicy red pepper paste added the perfect amount of flavor, but I would have preferred a bit more meat to balance out the larger portion of cabbage and other vegetables that were included.  Overall, Kinyobi's hearty Korean fare really hit the spot.  The affordable prices and relaxed atmosphere were also a delight. read more

A solid 4 stars for this place! Clean and inviting decor, friendly service and delicious food! I ordered the beef big plate which was surprisingly not as big as I had imagined. But that's maybe because all the components were in separate containers, to go containers. The rice was red rice. Kimchi was good and the miso that came with it also good. But it was A little weird to eat the beef on a dine in plate and then eat the rice out of the rice to go container and the same for kimchi but I believe it's because they're also known for take out. Lots of orders were taken over the phone as we dined in. The verdict: it's good but probably won't be back since it's not really close to where I live and also although it was nice to try, it's not extraordinary. Yesterday, I went with my friend to this spot and it was very lowkey and calm which I needed. We both ordered K-Town Ramen Extreme and we both devoured this tasty soup! There was ramen for days in this soup. The flavor was one of a kind and the extras in the soup like the eggs and veggies tasted so fresh! The dumplings were also fresh and to jump for, I literally tried to save them for the end because they were that good. The waitress gave us filtered water which also added to the experience. This is delicious, very reasonably priced home cooked Korean Fusion, made with love and care. We have come to know the owners a bit and love the story; Husband leaves corporate America and pursues his culinary passion with his wife and partner, who has restaurant experience with her sister and runs the front end with a kind smile and a warm welcome to all who enter. I went here with a group of friends (about 8 of us) for lunch on a Saturday. The place is really small, almost homey, but thankfully we were able to fit inside. The food was really simple with straightforward options, and it tasted good to boot. Not the best Korean food I've ever had but definitely would've come back. Unfortunately the service ended in a sour note for us. I want to preface this with that the style in service is ordering at the counter where you also pay and tip for your food up front. Outside of cleaning up our table once we're done and us requesting for a to-go box, there isn't much table service done. No offer for water (because you would need to pay for your own bottle) or checking if we're ok, which is totally fine given that, again, the setup for service I wouldn't have expected much of that anyway. So, imagine my surprise when one of my friends left a $4 cash tip at the end, only for us to chased outside and for it to be returned to us outside with the comment of "you can just keep it. It's not even $1 each." Huh?! Mind you, some of us left tip on our cards when we paid in the beginning. Suffice to say, we all left very confused and with no desire to come back to that again. It's too bad, because the food was pretty good, but that kind of treatment afterward just isn't worth it. read more

I was in the area this week so I stopped by this place for the first time for take out. I ordered the Ugly Ramen which includes stir fry ramen, teriyaki chicken and fresh veggies. It was really good. I also got a side of kimchi fries as well. Wow, those fries are amazing! Crispy with stir fried kimchi, pulled pork, corn, Mexican cheese and sour cream. Customer service was excellent. Stopped by because this place had good ratings and it was a very average meal. The owner is so extremely sweet - great service and just super kind and sincere. Jaeyook spicy pork tacos: The pork sauce was not spicy and way too sweet - tasted very sugary and couldn't finish a whole taco because the sauce was too overpowering. Spicy chicken bibimbap: I think this would have been a great dish if the chicken pieces were cut larger and if there was more chicken. Extremely generous on the veggies (which is great) but once I mixed it, I literally would have believed it if someone told me it was a vegetarian bibimbap. My biggest suggestion is to increase the portion of the chicken. Otherwise the taste is pretty good (but again, for a vegetarian bibimbap). With all that being said, I think if I'm around I would try it again and definitely order different dishes. Ambiance/Decor/Atmosphere: Quite the eye catching sexy brown tones with a slight air of industrial given the hanging lights and nice "victorian" copper ceiling. For a restaurant on the small size the decor pops nicely. Noise/sound level: Not overly distracting even though the restaurant is a little on the smaller side. Patrons will be talking but for the most part they won't be rude. Even when the place was packed with no seating left conversation with fellow guests was fine. Menu: Small to medium size focusing on some typical Korean fare and unique Asian fusion, like Ugly Rame, Michin Dumplings, and Bulgogi Burrito. Service: The woman waitress (probably owner as well) is very nice. Food is made fresh so ticket times aren't super quick, which is nice, but at the same time nothing is dragging. Also, the food is served in "take out" like cups and containers so it's easier to get up and take your food if you need to hurry out. It's possible to go from Teaneck to Kinyobi, order, eat, pay, and get back to Teaneck in an hour. Food: Well made, tasty, Michin Dumplings eats like jap chae with glass noodles, cabbage, and spicy chicken but mandu is included mixed in. The chicken wings are pretty good, sauce is sticky, wings have crunch, but might be slightly soggy depending on coating. You get plastic covers to put on your finger and thumb to keep from getting messy. Next time, I'll make sure to use them as clean up requires several pounds of napkins. Food can be made more or less spicy for your tastes. Bar: BYOB - or N/A Price: Price is a teeny bit higher than I'd care to pay considering Kinyobi is not entirely unique but the quality of food makes it less painful. Overall: Kinyobi is a pretty cool and slightly different Korean restaurant than what people might be familiar with. Kimchi Mama in Fair Lawn is kind of similar but Kinyobi has more fusion options. That means they have just the right amount of crunch to compliment the indulgent sweet and spicy flavor. The kimchi fries are definitely an experience. The pulled pork really add unmatched flavor and delight. I also had the kale & spinach dumplings. they were good and they're a great choice if you're vegetarian or not eating meat. however, My boyfriend and I both agreed that we probable should have gone with the beef ones. Stopped by Kinyobi for a quick lunch while shopping in the area on a Saturday and was truly blown away. Since it is a small shop we were pleasantly surprised to only find one other table full. However, by the number of to go orders I could tell they are always busy. For starters we ordered the hot flavor korean wings and they were exactly what I've been craving! Great flavor profile, a nice contrast between sweet and spicy without being overwhelmingly spicy where you can't enjoy them. They were also cooked to perfection where you can still taste the crunchiness of the wings despite being smothered in the delicious sauce. We then ordered the k-town ramen and the beef bap. K-Town ramen tasted exactly as I expected. Loved being able to enjoy ramen, rice cake and dumplings in one meal loaded with flavorful broth. My bf ordered the beef bap (add spicy) and for a small plate, it was filling and tasted delicious. If you want some authentic Korean food and warm hospitality, this is the place to go! Located in a quieter part of Hackensack is this hidden gem. There's plenty of street parking. The interior is small, so it might be best to go on a quieter night. Feels like it's more suited for takeout. We went on a Wednesday night and there was more than enough room. The service was fast and very pleasant! We started off with the chicken wings, dumplings and kimchi fries. The sweet and spicy wings were delicious and not too spicy so don't worry! Dumplings weren't anything special but the fries were amazing. Not often can you order fries covered in kimchi and cheese, highly recommend. For my main course I ordered the Bulgogi Bibimbop. I'm a big a fan of beef bulgogi and this was one of the best I've ever had! So many toppings create an explosion of flavor. And the plate was huge so you definitely get the bang for your buck. They even give you your own chili paste bottle, I put that shit on everything! This was an awesome experience and worth every penny. I'll be back very soon! read more

Kinyobi adds a few interesting, modern twists to traditional Korean food. My friend and I ordered the Ugly Ramen, kimchi fries and sweet tare chicken wings (8pcs). Everything tasted delicious, and we couldn't get enough of it. Their signature dish, Ugly Ramen, is a brothless noodle dish with yummy sauce on top. I ate some of the Ugly Ramen for lunch and still had plenty left over to eat for dinner later. Also, the kimchi fries were some of the best fries I've ever tasted. I'm not even a huge fan of kimchi, but the kimchi, pulled pork, sauce and crispy fries put together ended up being a great combination. The chicken wings were good, but I found them to be a bit smaller compared to other places where I get Korean fried chicken wings. Got gift certificate for Christmas, used this past weekend. Purchased the KTown Raman, bibimbap tofu and bulgogi big plate. The portions were perfect and taste was outstanding, I was able to get three meals out of my order. Staff was friendly and welcoming. Bonus Kinyobi is located near Alementry brewery, so why we waited for the food we took a 2minute walk to the brewery to have a drink. Liked it so much that I ordered Kinyobi on Uber eats today. Kimchi fries were good. Crispy fries topped with sweet corn, shredded pork, and seasoned kimchi all under a layer of cheese and white sauce. One of the better kimchi fries in the area. However, chicken wings were subpar. I expected more from a self-proclaimed korean chicken bar. The size of the pieces was pretty big and the crispiness was not bad at all. The sauces were quite disappointing though. Sweet/soy was extremely bland to the point where you couldn't really pinpoint what flavor it is. Spicy sauce tasted like a homemade gochujang based marinade, except it's the bad kind that I end up with when I have failed to mimic the korean style sweet n spicy (yang-nyum). The server was very attentive though. My water was never empty; she kept topping it and was great because it was especially a hot day. I may come again to try other dishes, but probably only when I'm in the vicinity. I wouldn't drive 4-5 miles just to eat at this place. read more

The concept of the restaurant is cool, I like the idea of westernizing traditional Korean comfort food but I had better versions before. We know we can get more if we go to Pal Park. Very disappointing, not worth it. 2) Bulgogi Burrito - I felt like I was eating just rice and chopped lettuce wrapped in tortilla with a minimal amount of condiments. Too bland for my liking, it definitely needs more flavor. The accompanying green sauce (cilantro?) didn't help either. The name "bulgogi burrito " is somewhat misleading because I hardly tasted bulgogi. The same problem as bibimbap, the ratio of meat needs to be re-evaluated. I've had something very similar before in the City and it was more flavorful and the amount of meat was more generous. This could have been awesome if it was executed right. For $11, I expect more.... I was left feeling unsatisfied. Chipotle's burrito offers more value and has more flavor than this. I don't mind paying extra if the food is awesome. Since there is no competition in the neighborhood, they can easily get more returning customers only if they improve the quality of the food. read more

I honestly loved this place so much. The woman who assisted us was so sweet and friendly and extremely helpful too. She talked with us about her favorite meals, and even gave us tips about what reheated best. She was the highlight of the experience, though our dining experience was quite short. My friend and I were in a rush, and she was very accommodating and helpful in ensuring that we got in and out as quickly as we needed to. In terms of the food, I LOVED my dish - the ugly ramen I think it was called? - that had sriracha mayo and lots of chicken and noodles. It was delicious! However, I would have liked a bit more spicy mayo distributed throughout the noodles, since the pile was so generously high! That meant I had plenty of leftovers for the next day though, which I was super happy about. And to be fair, I could have asked for additional spicy mayo if I needed it, and I'm positive they would have been accommodating. The decor is super cute and instagrammable, if you're into that sort of thing, because they have a bright neon sign against a beautiful wooden wall. But overall, the space is super tiny so I wouldn't suggest coming here with the crew. It was however, perfect for a quick and delicious lunch date with my bestie after bridesmaid dress shopping. The owner and her daughter are there often when I show up for their wings I usually get 10 soy garlic and 10 spiced the quality of the wings are very good I must say they're probably better than Bonchon overall not as good as the wings at New York wings in Fort Lee I think are the best as far as quality of the wings themselves Kinoybi probably has the best flavor. I noticed the coming soon sign a couple of weeks ago and was super excited to hear that noodle soup or Ramen was on the menu!!! We got our first order to go.. I ordered the K town Ramen which was delish! The broth was very flavorful and spicy just how I like it. My boyfriend got the bulgogi over rice. He really enjoyed his, and commented about how well everything was prepared. We also tried the vegetable pancake, wings, and fried dumplings. The portion sizes were perfect, and you can tell that everything was freshly prepped and prepared. I even appreciated how they boxed up our food so that items wouldn't get soggy on the way home. First, I want to thank Yelp & Boozy Burbs with it's "new opening" alert (as well as the great staff at the nearby Alementary Brewery enlightening me about this great new Foodie paradise. With a large Korean population in this area, we see a lot of Korean restaurants opening, although many are traditional Korean cuisine. Kinyobi takes the best of traditional and mixes it up with a more American taste using the freshest ingredients possible. We ordered a whole bunch of items: ---Fried dumplings (we had the meat, not the veggie. They are more of the Japanese gyoza style than the heavier Chinese dumpling. CRISP, flavorful, and not "belly sinkers" where you're full after eating them ---KOREAN DOUBLE FRIED CHICKEN WINGS: Let's face it. if you were not aware that Korean wings were THE BEST if you like crunchy wings, then you're not paying attention to what has been going on lately. Korean chicken joints have been winning fan favorite awards all over the U.S. for a while. Kinyobi's has 2 great sauces (hot & sweet), that I'm sure you will love. They're very informative of their menu and offer great recommendations. I highly recommend the spicy pork tacos, and the bulgogi burrito, which are both served with very delicious and crispy fries.
