Really really good. The ugly ramen is incredible and my go to every time I stop by there.

I don't really get where all the great reviews came from. This is instant noodles at extremely high prices. We got the ugly ramen, k-town ramen, and the michin dumplings. Everything is served in to-go containers. I thought we were in for a treat seeing all the 5 star reviews but I honestly don't understand how our experience was the furthest from 5 stars. The food concepts are interesting but just reminded me of ramen I would make in my college dorm. Sorry for the bad review but I just hope it helps someone not be disappointed like we were. read more

We came in on a Saturday evening looking for a quick bite before heading off to a local brewery and I was pleasantly surprised at how charming the interior looked. In the middle of Hackensack, I felt like I was transported to a spot in KTown, NYC. It wasn't a big place, but it felt spacious when we sat down. The menu is pretty simple, so no suffering from choice paralysis. We ordered the Ugly Ramen, Kimchi Fries and K-Town Ramen Extreme. Unfortunately we were too late to order wings since they ran out. If you're looking to get wings, come in earlier than 8:15pm. Our waitress, really nice lady who knew the other customers, took our orders and got us water while we waited. The kimchi fries came out really quickly and were steamy and crispy. Wow, the kimchi with the fries was so delicious. I only wish there was more kimchi in it. The pork was tender and the other toppings were on point. Both ramens came out a few minutes after and at this point I was feeling almost full from the fries, but the ramens both delivered. The Ugly Ramen was pretty good on the top. The spicy mayo sauce was tasty, but unfortunately I didn't mix it all in together (I got excited and ate it without thinking). Don't make the same mistake I did. The K-Town ramen extreme was pretty chill for me. I expected spice town but it was a little more mild, which I actually prefer. Amazing! The chicken was bomb. Super crispy. The flavor in the galbi tacos were to die for. The ramen was on point. Wish it were spicier but that was a mistake on my part for not requesting it. I used to order Kinyobi ALL THE TIME when they first opened! It's nice to know I don't have to go all the way to Pal Park or Fort Lee to get really good Korean food. They have a simple menu but each dish really has its own delicious flavor. The restaurant itself is pretty small but very clean. People were in and out picking up to-go orders as we were eating. This place is a great lunch spot, probably also a great dinner spot as well. I came here for lunch during work and it exceeded my expectations! I ordered the spicy pork sliders with fries and they were amazing. The sliders were pretty big and had a lot of pork in them. Spicy pork was marinated perfectly and matched really well with the buns. We also ordered the spicy chicken wings. While I wish the sauce on the wings were a little spicier, they were still very tasty. Super crispy and pretty sizable wings. Another plus was the fact that the food came out really fast. We ordered 3 dishes and they all came out in a matter of few minutes. The menu seems to have a lot of interesting dishes that I really want to try the next time I go. So I've been coming to Kinyobi for almost a year now, and just realized that I never left a review for this hidden gem. Who knew that tucked away in the hustle and bustle of Hackensack, you can find amazing ramen, dumplings, and Bibimbap at reasonable prices. The staff are always friendly and eager to strike a conversation with their customers and willing to make suggestions if you're unsure about what to eat. The menu isn't very big, which is reassuring to know that they focus on what they're good at - but from what I've had so far (which is everything), I feel confident that any additional will be welcomed. Wow yum! I'm not a K-food connoisseur but this was very good. We ordered the Ugly Ramen (10), the pork tacos (9) and the spicy chicken bibimbop (7) for takeout and all were delicious. The portions are large and the price is great too. Since we did takeout I can't comment on the service, but the joint was filled and everyone seemed to be getting their food timely. The decor was okay but the staff was friendly and greeted me with a warm smile and hello which works for me. Will be taking out from here again for sure! read more

This is a tough one folks. It hurts me to give them this rating but let's dive in. Where do I even start. First time I had Kinyobi it was on Halloween and we all ordered the K-Town ramen. And I thought I found some of the best ramen in my area! And I still stand by that BUT this is the only good thing I think they have going for them. My girlfriend and I decided to try out the other parts of their menu in the "must haves" and we were left beyond dissatisfied. The pictures and reviews on Yelp got us fooled. When we got our food from take out, it all look perfect. The colors the smells but that's where it ended. As soon as we took our first bite we read it straight off each other's faces. $15 bucks for this tasteless, dry, meatless mess in my hands as it fell apart in-front of me. Ladies and gentlemen I am no slouch when it comes to food. I can make this WAY better than what I had before me. I was in disbelief! This place gushes over their "homemade" and authentic recipes but this tasted beyond bland and boring. I was a huge advocate for this place and this experience felt like a slap in the face. My friends ordered the wings and my Asian friend wanted some spice for the evening and was left with a sweet surprise. The wings that were labeled infamously as spicy had absolutely no heat and left us all wanting more. The garlic sauce was very meh and the spicy sauce ended up being much sweeter and favorable over the two options. Overall I was heartbroken. I really thought this was my Korean restaurant to be. But after that whole shenanigans I can't say I will be coming back for anything else except their ramen. I'm hoping it was a bad day for the chefs or something but this was unacceptable. I hope your experience with other items on the menu are much more favorable than ours but in my opinion don't even risk it and play safe to what's Kinyobi is good at. My experience at Kinyobi was very satisfying. I went with my girlfriend around midday, and the first thing I noticed was the small and comfortable environment. We were immediately seated and the waitress couldn't have been sweeter. She was very attentive and didn't mind at all when we needed more time. To start, I ordered the 6pc meat dumplings and my girlfriend received a bowl of miso soup. They were both delicious! The miso soup was at a perfect temperature and went down smoothly and sensationally. The dumplings were also very well made. Accompanied by a sauce, (that I forgot to get the name of), it went very well together. Only moments after we had both finished our starters the entrees came out! Perfect timing! As an entree I ordered the Spicy Pork Tacos with fries, and my girlfriend ordered the Tofu Bibimap. Naturally the first thing I tried was the fries. I was pleasantly surprised by the perfection of its texture and flavors. The fries were golden brown and had a perfect crisp! The tacos were also very tasty and every component was well balanced. It was mouth watering! While I didn't try any of my girlfriend's Bibimap, she speaks very well of it. In conclusion this place is a must try! The total for a two person meal with starters, drinks and normally priced entrees was around $30. Not bad at all! read more

This place is interesting. I've been to a lot of Korean restaurants yet this place is like where you can order food to take out. I ate Ugly Ramen since Ugly ramen is one of the top choices when people come here to try out. The Ugly ramen has a Korean fusion of hot and dry noodles which is what caught my interest when it comes to foods. The food is good but a bit salty. Overall, their food is great. Decided to stop by last night after seeing this on yelp for some time now. The owner is very sweet and nice and welcomed us right away. It is a small place with about 5-7 tables inside but I do see they do a lot of take outs so I'm assuming it's mostly for that. Food: we ordered the kimchi fries, the bulgogi burrito, the sweet tare wings, and the spicy pork big set. The wings was good but I really didn't like the kimchi fries or the bulgogi burrito. The burrito tasted like something I can get from chipotle. Also I wish they gave more fries with the burrito, the portion was not even enough for my toddler alone. The kimchi fries, while it looks awesome, just didn't hit my taste bud right. It tasted weird with the sweet onion and tiny bit of meat mixed in with the cheese on top of the fries. The spicy pork set came with purple rice and miso soup. While it was yummy, I feel like I can get this at any korean establishment for the same price point. The sweet tare wings which is soy garlic sauce is pretty good and prolly the best part of our meal. Menu wise, if you guys have been to kimchi mama in fair lawn or west Caldwell, this is pretty much the same stuffs. The food was good but unfortunately I don't think I will be back. We visited on a Tuesday evening. Pleasantly surprised to find the joint empty. Tried galbi taco, beef dumplings, chicken wings (spicy). Service was friendly & attentive. Galbi taco was overloaded with lettuce and the meat was old. Ate 2/3 of it and left the second for its destiny in the trashlands. Dumplings were crispy and good dipper sauce but really lacking salt. Chicken wings were reminiscent of buldak but not as spicy. Also the restroom is located outside and down the block LOL. Overall it wasn't bad but wasn't great either. As always my job takes me lots of places so I get to try food everywhere I go. I was in Hackensack so I decided to try out Kinyobi I ordered the spicy ramen I don't remember the exact name it was 12$ and when she brought the bowl I was a little taken back the bowl was not even half way full a small serving and for 12$ I expected at least some veggies but it was noodles 2 dumplings and broth basically it was tasty but fill the bowl or mabey get a smaller bowl so it doesn't look so empty my server was very nice but for 12$ dollars for broth noodles half of a egg it wasn't worth it but I'll try something else I'll return read more

I had a work meeting in the area so I stopped in this cute little place for take away. Got the meat dumplings, wings & ugly ramen. I was not a huge fan of the dumpling but I prefer steamed not pan fried. The sauce it comes with is great though. It has perfect vinegar kick in it. The wings were amazing. Sweet & perfectly crunchy.
