Small place . Very clean.Order off screen with pictures and description. Food was very tasty and reasonalbe price. Not much interaction with staff. Order food they quickly bring it out. Eat, clean your own table and throw garbage in trash. No frills.

We were looking for a place to eat close to the American Dream mall, and glad we found Ondubu. A small restaurant, but offers lots of interesting Korean dishes, in the form of Bibim-bap, hot & stoned bap, Bulgogi, Udon and Japchae. They have a good collection of small items too, Park-baos are the highlight among them. The restaurant is almost self-service. There's a tablet to put it in the order, and the food is brought to the table once ready. After the meal, we had to bus our dishes to the cleaning area. We tried several of the items, chicken baos, chicken and beef bib I'm-bap, beef udon, and seafood pancake. The entree dishes came with the side of pink salad (cabbage & cucumber) and spicy sauce. I found all of the dishes to be very well prepared, ingredients, sauces blended really well to create a delightful taste. The portion was just about right for lunch. From their menu, I found out they have another location in Paramus, Route 17, which is closer to my home. Looking forward to trying out that location too. Probably I would remember this for my future Korean food cravings. Food taste - 5/5 Food prep time - 5/5 Price - $$ Restroom - 4/5 Items Tried: Chicken baos - 5/5 (Spicy!) Nice spot for Korean food. Self order on kiosk or with staff. Most people do takeout. Lots different of choices on the menu. Hot stone rice/noodle, small hotpot, cold noodles etc. The flavor is def there. Will come back and try other items!

Wife and I ordered dinner here via GrubHub. I ordered the spicy beef tofu soup with purple rice and the wife ordered a spicy pork bimbim-bap. The tofu soup came in a large container and it looks a lot spicier than it is. The soup itself was tasty but lacks the garlic taste that you would normally get from tofu soups in other restaurants. The spicy beef in the bimbim-bap was delicious, but the vegetables seemed to be sauteed and not fresh cold ingredients you would normally get in the typical bimbim-bap as well. Overall, I would not hesitate to order here again, especially that purple rice is an option. I would get the spicy beef with purple rice and a fried egg on top next time!

The flavors were great and appropriate for the food combinations we ordered. Would recommend this place for a small bite to grab for lunch. Very relaxing atmosphere to have a small gathering. The service was good. The staff were kind and helpful when needed.

A great addition to Park Ave. Tasty and fresh food and good service. They have it down with the self ordering as soon as you walk in. It's great for take out especially during the virus. It's all on their computer and there's hand sanitizer right next to it. We placed our order and in 15 minutes it was ready. I got the hot and stoned chicken teriyaki. The black sweet rice I got was great. The chicken was a little burnt but it was good. Great flavor overall. My boyfriend got the extra spicy seafood ramen. He was sweating by the end of it and he slurped every last drop. The seafood was pretty fresh too. The mandu was fantastic. Perfectly crispy, even for takeout. It was probably my favorite part of the meal. The purple pickle was sweet and had a great crunch to it. I would definitely recommend this spot if you're in the mood for some Korean food.

Found this place through yelp and decided to give it a try. I ordered this rice dish on a bowl stone with squid and my friend ordered the bibimbap. It didn't really take too long for the food to be ready. I liked my dish, it was good and they weren't cheap on giving the squid. I think the price is also fair for it being a "seafood dish." To be honest, there's really nothing to complain about. I didn't give it a five start because my overall experience and the food didn't make me go "WOW!" It was just good. I can't say anything about the bibimbap because I didn't get to try it. Overall, I would recommend this place!

Very cool and modernized Korean restaurant. We walked in and there wasn't many people inside, but it was because they were picking up orders instead of sitting in to eat! So many people walked in and out to pick up!! When you walk in, there is an iPad in the front left corner where you can order and pay without coming into contact with the workers. This was very convenient, easy and cool. We ordered our food and sat right down. When they were done, a server walked our trays to us and we started to devour everything on our plates. It was hot and so delicious. It was raining outside, so soup and hot bibimbap was really nice to sit down to. It was so good that we used the iPad to order another to-go bibimbap for my aunt and brought it to our hotel--however, she was so busy that she didn't get to see us and we ate it the next day!

Was by far some of the most delicious Korean food ever tasted. Staff was very knowledgeable on their menu items and will walk you through the process to ensure you get something you'd enjoy. Service was quick and friendly. Ambiance was aesthetically pleasing and goes for the minimalist approach.

Love this spot! This is my 2nd time here and it's absolutely great each time. I can't wait to try everything on their menu. Portions are a good size, you end up taking food home with you. Flavors are on point, food is clean and fresh! You know you are eating vegetables, chicken, pork etc and not questioning what type of meat you are eating. The have a kiosk at the door that you can order with or go straight to the counter to place your order with a person. Fast service, they are very polite and attentive too. I can surely say I am a new regular.

I don't know what took us so long to check this place out but it is amazing!!! We ordered vegetarian buns, bibimbap with tofu and the udon noodle dish with tofu as well. Delicious flavors that you can't get enough of! We will most definitely be coming here regularly from now on.

To start, they give each person 4 different banchan plates - kimchi, seaweed, pickled daikon, and soy bean sprouts. It was nice that we each had our individual set. For food, we decided to each order something different, so we could try a little bit of everything. We had: -Japchae - this was a HUGE portion. But, it was a bit too salty. The flavor was good though. They also jam pack it with lots of veggies and beef. I would recommend it but maybe just ask for less salt, if possible. -Beef bibimbap (hot) - not bad but I've had better -Soon tofu with seafood - this was pretty good but it was pretty hot that day so I wasn't really in the mood for a hot bubbling stew Overall, it wasn't bad. It has a smaller menu than most typical Korean restaurants - but that could be a good thing, if you're an indecisive person. I probably won't be back anytime soon since there are so many Korean restaurants nearby (especially Pal Park) that I need to try first. Tip - there is free street parking

Finally got to try this place I heard so much about on a Christmas day with wife because it was…read morefrigid and we wanted a warm bowl of Korean "tang"(soup). Finding parking is quite challenging given the location on a busy commercial street, so make sure you can come earlier than meal time to have better luck. They have waiting seats OUTSIDE so yeah I suppose it's quite popular at times. 1. ATMOSPHERE (3/5) - This location is small and it's pretty straightforward place. But I still found it cozy, with decent amount of seating (I think it can handle 15-20 max) and little details like wall with wood ledges and coat hangers were a nice touch. Seating was comfortable, though we tied our down parkas around our waist as another party had hung theirs on our side of coat hangers. 2. FOOD (4/5) - We dove right in to try their famous gejang (~Korean raw crab "ceviche") and ordered two of their namesake gookbap (rice with soup) to see how they are. Here's how it went down. - Gejang (App, $20, 2/5) - I had a hunch that on a holiday perhaps I should not order this, but my craving for succulent crab flesh be damned, I went for it and unfortunately, the meat was not well-marinated as I had feared. Gejang is a dish that has to sit in the complex soy-based pickling liquid for some time... and if restaurant is too busy churning them out or if it's slow season they won't do this properly. It not only wasn't fully marinated, I think the marinade was off because the spiciness was way out of balance and was overpowering. Perhaps knowing that it didn't have enough time to marinade the kitchen put extra diced jalapenos to compensate? Because that's exactly what it tasted like - you can't fool me. I tried to salvage the dish by asking a confused-looking girl server for some sugar, but yeah, can't un-do the overpowered marinade with sprinkling of sugar. This was really unfortunate as I was looking forward to a good bite. - Ahjae Gookbap (Main, $18, 5/5) - Thankfully, their namesake gookbap was spot-on to salvage our dining. Generous slabs of succulent beef on the bone and off the bone was swimming in a hearty beef/bone broth that tasted clean and focused. Portion was good, and can I say their banchan of fish cake moochim & unfermented kimchi & ggakdugi(radish kimchi) simply ROCKS? That was some serious deliciousness and dare I say value at $18 at a day and age where hamburger costs over $10! You win at life by ordering this! 3. SERVICE (4/5) - Our server girl was attentive and food came out early on though later it was a bit hard to get her attention promptly. We found ourselves putting hands in the air, and wavin' like we don't care... for a little while. They provide gloves & metal bin for gejang which was a nice touch for people to keep their fingers clean. One thing I'd like to mention: Plastic cup they served water in was all chipped on the rim so we instead went and got water from their hot & cold water dispenser which had metal cups (as many korean restaurants do). I'd suggest them to replace all these old plastic cups with metal ones for health reasons. Overall, we were satisfied with our meal. I'd chock up the gejang mishap to it being a holiday. I hope chef was just off with the marinade that day because I am a certified gejang pro(I catch and make my own) and that balance ain't it. But I will give it another try during warmer month and we'll definitely be back to try sooyook moochim, oyster jeon & other great soup offerings.

2nd time coming here. Small restaurant with a few tables. Thankfully when we came (Saturday…read moreevening), there was one table available and it was the same table as last time! Ordered three things: 1) marinated crabs, small size (5/5). Always a must-get here. 2) ddukbaegi bulgogi (4.5/5) - Thinly sliced prime marinated beef ribeye casserole with rice cake and glass noodle and mushroom served in a sizzling hot pot. Really flavorful and so good to have on a cold day. 3) ahjae ppyo jjim (4.5/5) - Braised prime beef meat bones in soy reduction with carrots, radish, dates, chestnut, rice cake and glass noodles. We got non-spicy. It came in a HUGE bowl. Definitely meant to be shared with a group. Took leftovers home and it was still yummy the next day mixed with knife-cut noodles I had at home.
