My 4 year old ended up eating all of the chicken and we had to go back and get a pupusa, which he also ate most of it. $5.99 for 1/4 chicken dark and two sides. Macaroni had more mustard flavor than cheese. Rice and beans are more Central American style with red beans. The pupusa is a little bigger than other places, similarly flavored but really oozed with cheese. If you like spice, then the green sauce has real spice. Otherwise the yellow mustardy one is ok or you can mix the two. The decor is more of a grab and go environment. If you're all about the best food flavor you dine in. I saw a lot of carry out from diff types of people and assumed they were on the run or would rather set their own ambiance to scarf down the food. read more

The food here is absolutely fabulous... It is authentic and original. The staff are marvelous and always smiling and happy even at 6:30am in the morning. The women working here always seem to brighten my day when I visit, they have big smiles and warm hearts. That warmed potato salad and the onion salad is some of my favorite sides, there are a few things on the menu that I am yet to try but everything I have eaten so far has been of high quality and authentic. read more

The chicken and plantains here are quite good. Juicy, nicely seasoned chicken and sweet and tangy plantains. The beans are so-so -- the first time I had them they were well seasoned and yummy -- not so much the other times I've had them. My husband likes their pupusas, but to me they're just ok. It always seems to take quite a while for the cooks to prepare them, and the taste just doesn't seem worth the wait. I love this place, fast service and the chicken is delicious. I only get the chicken, white rice and plantain typically. I have had the lomo saltado & it is very delicious. Rice and beans are pretty salty. Pupusa's are good also. Not a fan of the green beans as they are kind of rubbery. So basically I stick to the stuff I know is good and I love it. The food here is awesome, but the service is absurd. I ordered a breakfast meal from here & they forgot to give me my plantains. Seriously, just cheese and eggs? It's like giving me a burger without the patty. Also, they have it listed they open at 5:30am, however, I've ordered food at 5:45am & my food was not ready until 7:00am. I am a regular customer and love to eat at King poloI have never had a bad experience until todayI got to the restaurant at about 9:30 p.m. I was on the phone in my vehicle until 20 minutes till 10the sign out front says they are open until 10 p.m.but there is a young Spanish manager that was on shift and he knows who I am because I am there all the timehe told me that the restaurant was closing and that they could not make anything for me to eat unless I wanted to have chicken that has been sitting out for hoursso I asked them why do they advertise they are open until 10 if they will not sell anything other than what they have cooked earlier in the day he told me had I had come in at 9 o'clock I might have been able to place my order but since they close at 10 they had to start cleaning the restaurant at 9 so they could leave at 10 o'clock sharpI also run my own business retail business and we are open until 9 p.m. Daily if I were to tell one of my customers at 5 minutes till 9 that we are closing in 5 minutes and they would have to come back tomorrow I probably would lose that customer so I never do that nor would I ever do that I chose the business that I am in and I think these people need to understand that this is the business that they chose the restaurant business if they are going to advertise they are open until 10 p.m. They need to serve the food that they offer otherwise they need to put a sign out front that states they are going to close the kitchen at 9 p.m. And will only sell leftovers until they close I will never return to this restaurant which is a shame because I love the food as do my family but the way I was treated tonight really just pissed me off especially since I am a regular customer in other words do not go to this restaurant after 9 p.m. At night if you want to get something to eat other than leftover chicken read more

First of all, this place is NOT peruvian. I went there a few days ago to get one whole chicken for my family and I just to try it out. My go to peruvian chicken place is Cholito Chicken. When I got the whole chicken I was asked what sides I wanted (the sides were sitting there in a buffet looking stand). They had no french fries, no yuca, no salad (which is usually served with peruvian chicken). I dont know if maybe they changed management and it no longer is a peruvian place...? because I did not see any peruvian dishes (i wanted causa). I saw pupusas, carne asada (all salvadorian dishes). I was very confused because they did not even know what I meant when I said "pollo a la brasa"..they were like "Chicken?" . So yeah I dont know whats up with this restaurant. They were not sure of the price of the chicken when I asked. Why? I dont know. They said 14.99 but then the girl helping me went to the back and came back and said 16.00. I was finally charged 18.00 for a whole chicken and an inca kola (they do have inca kola, the only peruvian thing about this restaurant). SO coming to this restaurant was a weird/confusing experience. They chicken was not yummy, I couldve had the same buying the rotisserie chicken at Giant, seriously. A no frills restaurant with a simple concept...really good chicken!!

The food here is actually pretty good only issue is the driver delivery man who doesn't deliver the food to your door!He actually makes me walk outside every single time to his car to get the food! I decided to tip in cash but because i didn't tip online he got an attitude with me he also trashed around all my food before he gave it to me. Great takeout. The hubs and I just moved to the area and were looking for something low-carb we could get for takeout. I usually get the 1/4 white meat chicken, salad and onion mix, and veggies. Yum!! The chicken is really good -- super tender, it melts in your mouth. The service is fast and they give you a TON of food. Every time we come here, the lady behind the counter loads up those styrofoam containers till they're practically overflowing -- such a great value for the price!! This is now our favorite food to take to Nats Park; it never fails to illicit dozens of envious stares from other game-goers eating sad nachos. We haven't yet tried any of entrees, but I want to on a cheat day when I can binge on carbs. As others have said, the dining room is really tiny in this place -- seems like mainly a take-out operation. Anyway, if you want great food, tons of it, and for cheap, try this place. read more

Best bang for your buck! The amount of food you get + the low price of $6 = A customer for life! I am absolutely in love with their potato salad and macaroni salad! Excellent place to eat. I went to 'king pollo' today for lunch. I ate a 1/4 chicken (dark meat) and it came with 2 GENEROUS sides. I really had a lot of rice and beans on my plate. And a soda, all totaling $7 and change. You can't get a deal like that anywhere I know for that price. This place is the worst place to eat with THE WORST SERVICE IN NORTHERN VIRGINIA BY FAR we called at 9 30 to place a large order at 9 25 to have it ready by the time we get there (we were 5 min away and told him) but his answer was that we could not eat it there because they had to close at 10 and needed to start the cleaning at 9 45 so then again I told the person that was taking the order that we were almost there so that we could have our meal at the restaurant but this person again told me that we could eat there only until 9 45 because they had to clean and close and then that by that time we needed to leave their place. With this exact words we were treated! I would to have the owner/ decision maker/ manager to take some time and to talk to his employees and teach them manners professionalism! This is a restaurant and therfore need customers to function. DON'T EVER TREAT YOUR CUSTOMERS LIKE THAT AGAIN AND BY OBVIOUS REASONS WE ARE NOT COMING BACK HERE AGAIN.
