mee katang with beef = $12.75
    Trung N.

I was craving mee katang on this side of town so I found myself here. I ordered the mee katang with beef ($12.75) and a fried egg. They load the noodles up with plenty of vegetables which I greatly appreciated. The mee katang was good and exactly what I was looking for. While I do prefer a thicker gravy, this satiated my craving. Kim Sun is a quiet mom and pop shop. The menu is straightforward and the restaurant itself is cozy. Perfect for a quick and easy lunch.

My friend told me about this spot over a sesh so I decided after to satisfy my munchie craving . When I showed up I was a little confused at parking I guess u just find a spot and throw it in P. Inside it's very mom and pop ish few tables for you to dine clean and simple, good service straight to the point . I ordered the house fried rice it was bomb tasted fresh no hard rice or anything like that . I also ordered the beef kebab and it came with like a side of salad type stuff together it was the one! Tasted great and the meat was tender and juicy with the crisp from the salad paired well with a lil sriracha also . I also ordered this noodle with veggies and beef that's where they won me over tasted very authentic and flavorful they also hooked it up with a bone broth soup I never tried before super bomb the taste threw me way off as it was unexpected delicious. Definitely coming back .

Solid noodle spot. I haven't had their rice dishes. I need 85 characters to post this review

A sweet place to get comfort food. This local spot has been around for years. Even though it's new owners, it's still a great establishment with the same great taste and recipes. My favorite go-to is their Hainan chicken or beef loc lak. Ice coffee is 5/5, you just have to try it for yourself. Service is always quick and everything seems to always be cooked fresh. The ambiance is very comforting and well-maintained.

Lately been ordering take out. Large portion to eat later. Call in and just go pick it up, in and out fast service within 15 mins.

    Chewy almost inedible beef

I was hesitant to write a review, in case the food was good. I went and first off customer service was horrible. I asked for rice and beef w/ broccoli and stir fry noodles with beef. She then repeated noodle soup so I said no soup, stir fry. She said she didn't understand, understandable but she tossed the menu at me saying just point. The total was almost $36. Which was iffy to me but whatever. Fine okay, when she hands me my order I asked if there was soy sauce, she never once looked up at me and said in there. I asked for chopsticks ( seeing as how there's two people and two plates) she tossed one on the counter still not looking up and I asked for another one. She then tossed them on the counter without saying anything or looking up. When I got home there was a chicken soup on top of my two plates, so she charged me something I didn't want. The noodles WERE HORRENDOUS. I had to pull them apart by hand, they were sticky and all stuck together (picture provided after I tried pulling them apart myself) there was only one soy sauce and the beef was super chewy and hard to break down. This was a very horrible experience here.

Nothing but Cambodian goodness! Soup was great, noodles excellent, broth was clean, soothing, and tasty!

Picking up Mama Lê's favorite dish for her birthday seafood egg noodles. I got the Phnom Penh noodle soup, and chicken chop suey. Broth was perfect for this rainy weather in Cali this morning. The famous Noodle Shack was packed, so I went up the street to another small local favorite to try theirs for the first time, it did not disappoint! And for $8 a giant bowl?! That's a steal. Dad hasn't eaten much lately and hasn't enjoyed his food, so he has lost a lot of weight. He ate his whole bowl!

Went here because my son recommended it. Had the Beef Lok Lak delish! Came with a soup (don't know what kind) clear broth. Good as well.

This place is such a hole in the wall. It's a small restaurant with only 8 tables so it's best to come early in the morning. Especially on weekends. I always order the Hai Nam Chichen with Bai Cha. (Steamed chicken with fried rice instead of white rice) my partner introduced me to this combo and it's a game changer! It also comes with a small side of bone marrow broth, cucumber, and a delicious garlic sauce. My partner orders the Beef Noodle Soup, it's packed with flavor! Just make sure to add lime, hoisin sauce, sriracha, and the bean sprouts. For drinks, we order the Thai iced tea and Iced coffee. 10/10. Service is good. There's always one woman handling the front so if you come here please be patient, and kind!

Got the hainan chicken and it was all bone and no meat. They only give good customer service when you are Cambodian. My gf is Cambodian and I've been here with her family and every time, I get good service and good food but when I come here by myself, I don't even get a simple hello or a polite greeting. How are you going to pass a chicken joints for a piece of chicken. It's all cartilage and skin!

This place is listed today as having outdoor seating. Is it still available? If it is, is it covered or heated? How many people can sit there? / June 8, 2023

Since I have eaten there I have not seen any outdoor seating. Maybe during COVID-19 they may have had it but I never saw any tables outside.

Anyone knows if they change ownership?

Yes they also accept card now

One of the highlights is their Thai tea, which is served with a popsicle and seems to be one of their most popular items for good reason. It's fun, unique, and absolutely delicious. I also tried the salmon curry, which was something new for me, and I ended up loving it. The flavors were rich, balanced, and unlike anything I've ordered before. Another unexpected favorite was the wings. I'm usually not a big wings person, but these were surprisingly good--crispy, flavorful, and definitely worth ordering. Overall, the food, drinks, and atmosphere exceeded my expectations. It's a spot I would absolutely come back to and one that I would definitely recommend to others.

Kin was one of the only restaurants open until 10 PM. We were seated right away, and somehow the five of us sat in a private room. It was kind of late for me to eat anything really heavy so I just have my usual salad and it was the beef tenderloin salad. They serve it up with a lot of beef and less veggies. The beef itself was a little chewy and in large pieces. I prefer the meat to be cut a little smaller and would like more lettuce and cucumber. I got a little taste of the spicy fried rice, which was really good. Some of us ordered Thai tea and didn't expect what we received, which was the tea with a Thai tea popsicle. What a treat! The Thai tea itself was pretty standard, but that popsicle was like the icing on a cake. The places, modern and clean. Staff is helpful and nice. Parking is their own lot but can be difficult to get a spot on a busy day or night.

Food came out in a good time, especially considering there was a large party having a birthday party at the same time. We ordered a number of entrees and 2 appetizers. Everything was pretty good with my standouts being the hand-pulled noodles and the tofu & shiitake mushroom entree. You could tell the hand-pulled noodles were fresh and made by hand. The sauce on it was good but too salty. The tofu & shiitake dish was served in a savory and tasty home/brown sauce. The scallion pancake was good as well, just much thinner than other scallion pancakes. The Chinese broccoli was good, but I thought it was more bitter than usual Chinese broccoli dishes. The fried rice was okay.

We were seated and the food came out quickly, but after that, service was a bit slow. We tried several things including the crab and pork soup dumplings, shrimp wonton in chili oil, house beef noodle soup, orange chicken, and walnut shrimp. Definitely a place you can easily have a family style meal at! Crab and pork soup dumplings - really good flavor, wish there was slightly more soup in the dumpling! Would definitely get again, especially if you get their HH price Walnut shrimp - my new favorite walnut shrimp in the area! These came out nice and fresh, shrimp was cooked well, sauce was good balance of sweet and savory Beef noodle soup - broth was surprisingly not as hearty as the deep color would make you think, but still very full of beef flavor. The beef was very tender, melt in your mouth! Noodles were nicely bouncy with mild chew. Good option if you are in the mood for noodle soup Orange chicken - unfortunately seemed to be a mix of freshly cooked and an old order as some pieces were warmer than others. Good flavor, but chicken inside the breading was quite dry. Wish it was a bit saucier Shrimp wonton in chili oil - to me had a strange aftertaste. It does have cucumber in the wonton - warm cucumber taste was not for me Inside had a rustic appearance with brick walls and industrial lights. A good place to eat with a few friends and try different things. Would come back for the walnut shrimp and crab and pork soup dumplings!

She did not let me down as we walked in and noticed how truly authentic it was going to look. Chinese decor on the walls and boxes of restaurant supples in the corners. Just as it should be. The bonus was that they had a TV showing the NBA Finals when we arrived. Pretty nice touch and in the back of the restaurant so as not to distract everyone. We went with a couple of our favorite dishes to run along and the Chicken Lo Mein was pretty good. Crispy pieces of chicken and soft noodles and veggies to go with it. We chose to get Mongolian Beef and it was absolutely fantastic. Crispy celery, green onions and decent sized pieces of meat in a terrific sauce. I would love to try to replicate that. My wife wanted a shrimp dish so she ordered the honey walnut and it even looked good to me when they brought it. She loves egg rolls, so she got a four piece and said they were pretty good. My biggest wow of the visit was their vegetable fried rice. MY GOD. I dont know what they season or flavor it with, but every fork full of rice that i ate, it was this sense of flavor that reminded me of butter or something else. If it's busy, it can feel pretty cramped, and you'll probably have to squeeze between tables and chairs to get around. If it's not crowded though, it's much easier to move around. The service was fast, which I appreciated. The only downside was the food runner who brought out our meals. He wasn't very friendly and kind of just set the plates down wherever there was space, even on top of the plates we were already using. It felt a little careless and took away from an otherwise good experience.
